In 1882, at the end of the Oregon Trail, Amelia Martin-a soon-to-be schoolteacher with a strong imagination, a gift for making things grow, and an obsession with dime novels-has arrived with her doctor father on the frontier after the death of her mother. She longs for the adventure she finds in her novels and to prove to her father that she is capable and stronger than he thinks. But after a … robbery on the stagecoach ride, her ideas about adventure might not hold up to reality.Hank Paulson tries being a hero and protecting Amelia during the robbery, only to make things worse. Which is just as well since he’s hiding his true identity as the heir to a wealthy banking family by posing as a lumberjack. The clock is ticking to carve out his own success or return to the life his family has destined for him.Amelia believes her very own dashing hero has come to her rescue, clumsy as it was. When he returns her book dropped in the robbery, she is confused. The dashing man is now dressed as a common logger, nothing like the dime-novel hero she had met before.Hank is enchanted by Amelia, but his interest isn’t returned. If he reveals who he really is, she might be more inclined to his attentions. But he wants to be loved for who he is, not who someone wants him to be.Now the town is in trouble, and Hank is the only one who can help. Amelia learns that all heroes aren’t in the pages of a book. As the town is threatened by a past enemy, Hank might just be the hero they all need. Can he help without revealing who he is? Will Amelia love him when she learns the truth? Will Amalia love life on the frontier and prove to be stronger than any dime-novel heroine? Finally Home is the third in The Route Home series. If you like Christian historical romance with a touch of suspense, then you’ll love this journey of a frontier era moving into the modern age.

Finally Home is a well-written story that I really enjoyed reading. Jennifer Crosswhite takes the familiar aspects of a pioneer story and makes it fresh and interesting. Amelia and Hank along with many of the supporting characters become like good friends as you read. One of my favorite lines: “You make dreams I didn’t even know I had come true.” Romance readers, you get that HEA and even a sweet epilogue.
The plot has some twists and turns. There was one towards the end that really surprised me, but it was quite believable. I would recommend this to historical romance readers, clean/wholesome romance readers, and to Christian fiction readers. I definitely plan to read more of Jennifer Crosswhite’s work.
I received a complimentary copy. I chose to write a review and share my opinion of this sweet romance.
Finally Home
I loved Hank and Amelia story. I loved her dime store novels and that she read one to the guys when they were sick. The book starts out with a stage coach robbery, the one thing she wanted to save was her book.
I enjoyed Amelia being a school teacher and the school scenes were good. Always great to have kids in a book.
The story is set in 1882, I love reading historical book and how life was back then. Amelia’s father was a doctor, it is interesting reading how doctors did then.
I received an advanced copy of the book from the author. I was not required to write an positive review.
Another great read from Jennifer Crosswhite. This was a quintessential frontier romance filled with faith, family, friends, and romance. I have not yet read the first two books in the series yet but finishing this one makes me ache to finish the series. I definitely recommend this book.
I received an advanced readers copy to read and review. All opinions expressed are my own.
“Finally Home”

Jennifer Crosswhite
“Finally Home” is the third book and last book in Jennifer Crosswhite series “The Route Home”. I would recommend reading all the books in order because some of the characters were part of the previous books.
Synopsis: In 1882, at the end of the Oregon Trail you will meet Amelia Martin, a soon to be schoolteacher with a great vivid imagination, a gift for growing things, and obsessed with some novels. When the stagecoach is robbed Amelia feels she met her true hero. Hank Paulson wants to be her hero without letting his true identity known. Can Hank still be what Amelia wants or will his identity change everything?
My thoughts: This isn’t the first book by Jennifer Crosswhite, and will definitely not be my last. What can I say about this book? This story was adventurous, adorable and a all around great historical christian fiction. I fell in love with all the characters especially the main characters Amelia Martin and Bank Paulson. The character’s were well written and storyline was easy to follow. Once I started the book, it was extremely hard to put down.
Rating I rate this book a 5 out of 5
I would recommend reading this book on social media and other retailers

Loved Hank and Amelia’s story! Hank had plans for his life; meeting Amelia wasn’t part of his plans. He willingly added her; however, it wasn’t until after he finally had a heart to heart talk with God, after a serious talk with Seth, that he realized what he thought was his dream really wasn’t. With Amelia by his side, he was finally ready for the plan God had for him. Amelia wanted someone who would love her and have an interest in what interested her, at least interested enough to listen to her. Hank exceeded her expectations. Together, they can face whatever life might bring.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
I really enjoyed this book! It made me want to read the first two books in the series because I felt like I knew everybody in this small Oregon town and wanted to visit some more. Amelia and her doctor father have traveled mostly by rail from upstate New York. Amelia has been reading dime novels about the west and hopes to experience adventure herself! And she certainly does: from her stagecoach being robbed to being warmly welcomed into a boarding house and quickly finding her place in town. The adventures, courting, and turmoil she faces her first six months make this book a great read. Of course, the plot must handle the good and the evil in the Old West. You’ll be surprised by who got away, who got caught, and who turned good in the end! RECOMMENDED READ!
Realistic characters with true life issues find adventure, suspense, romance and each other in a frontier town. Love this series and this book. Another great read from this author!

Jennifer has done it again!! When I find a great book, it is hard to put down. And this book is excellent, held my attention and drew me in deeper!
Finally Home by Jennifer Crosswhite is a wonderful historical novel. Amelia and her father travel cross country by train and stagecoach to a small town. They are to become the town’s teacher and doctor. There is danger, including a stagecoach robbery and later, an attempted kidnapping, that fills the story with adventure, suspense and even romance.
This book is filled with twists and turns that will keep you turning pages well into the night. This is a great book to read while sitting nest to a pool, on a beach, in front of a fireplace, or any where you enjoy reading a great story. I highly recommend this story. I received an advance reader copy of this book and I always review every book that I read.
Rating: 4.5 stars
My thoughts about this book:
• The author presented a well-crafted enjoyable story. It kept my interest from the beginning until the end.
• I enjoyed this story because it had a lot of different themes, intrigue, action, romance, and introspection.
• The author painted a crystal clear picture of Reedsville, Oregon with her words. I could envision this rural city with its downtown main street.
• I enjoyed getting to know the main characters Hank and Amelia. The many secondary characters added an extra dimension to this plot.
• This novel had me thinking about this question: Who has the right to pass judgment on your life regarding success? Your dad, yourself, or God?
• I did not find this historical Christian romance preachy. Religion was just a natural part of the characters’ lives. No lectures.
• This was a clean read.
I highly recommend this book. I have read several books by this author and have enjoyed every one of them. I was given an advance copy of this book by the author. My review was voluntary and my opinions were my own.
