A vacation none of them will forget!
“I can do this,” he says. “Even though I’m terrified, it’s nowhere near as terrifying as risking you. I’m with you, babe. Wherever this takes us.” (1)
“Next to his ear, I whisper, “Because I’m gonna love you in every shape, every age, any which way you are for the rest of our lives.” (2)
“In the words of a great philosopher, ‘If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you.’” (3)
This book was a great closure to the story; I loved how Eden Finley wrapped it all up. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to all these amazing and well-written characters, but I’ll always keep a place for them in my heart.
I’d be lying to you if I say that I love everyone equally; we all know damn well that’s a lie. Noah and Matt will always be my favorite couple—I loved everything about them and I’ll miss them so much.
I shake my head. “I didn’t. It was the wrong place to do it, and maybe this isn’t the most perfect place either—I don’t even have a ring—but I can’t have another day pass where you don’t know what you are to me. You’re everything I’ve ever wanted, and I’m going to give you the type of marriage you believe in. I’ll be a husband who supports you, cares for you, and be there for you through everything.”
There were a lot of funny and sexy moments I enjoyed—especially, the moments in the plane and Talon and Miller’s wedding. I enjoyed the different POVs and loved to see each couple get a satisfying HEA.
I don’t know if I’ll be reading the spin-off series yet, but I’ll let y’all know. The only thing I know is that it follows the ex-members of the boyband we met in book five.

So sad to see this series come to an end, but I love how Eden Finley wrapped it all up! I thought Hat Trick felt like an epilogue of sorts for the Fake Boyfriend series, but Final Play was truly the perfect ending.
I loved getting to see all the couples one last time, and having chapters in all their points of view was the icing on the cake. I laughed, I swooned, and I may have even shed a tear or two. It was so great seeing all these guys get their happily ever afters, to know that life is good for them all!
4.5 Cranky Stars
Parting is such sweet sorrow especially when you’ve read every book in the series. I’m sad to see all the fake boyfriends turned real lovers go but I don’t think this will be the last of them. They have children and a legacy to carry on. Final Play was the summary of all their lives and their next chapters in their lives.
In Final Play we see Matt and Noah, Maddox and Damon, Ollie and Lennon, Talon and Miller and finally Jet and Soren. They are enjoying one final vacation before they start the next phase in their lives rather It be marriage, parenthood, or advances in their careers. So much is in the air for the gay brigade and they each must make life altering decisions.
I loved this series. I have been invested since book one. Every time I see a new book out, I jump for it. Eden Finley has a way of making you feel like you are a part of the lives of these men. This book has it all swoon worthy love declarations and sexy times to hot it will steam your Kindle up. I hope this isn’t the end of these guys in some capacity and I hope the author has other books in this world. I’m sad it’s over but I’m looking forward to the next journey.
This was everything I could’ve wanted and hoped for to have with these characters! I always enjoy when authors go back to revisit characters and you get to get back inside their heads and get an up close look at what’s happening in their lives. I don’t even think I can pick a favorite part because there were honestly SO many! Seeing this series being finished up is bittersweet but this was definitely an amazing conclusion for these guys! Five stars!
ncredible time spent with wonderful friends will warm your heart. It was so much fun to spend time with these guys that we have come to know and love. This book brings us up to date on their journeys and gives us some very touching glimpses into their lives and hearts.
i so enjoyed getting to see Noah & Matt, Maddox & Damon, Talon & Miller,Ollie & Lennon and Jet & Soren all getting to share time with them was perfect.
This is book six of the Fake Boyfriend series and really should be read in order to gain the full experience of the MC’s and complex cast of supporting characters. This is the final book of a series an should be enjoyed as such.
I was gifted this book from the author and i freely give my honest opinion and review.
Everyone who knows me, knows that I am a big fan of closure. Especially when it comes to the stories I read. A book with an open-end gives me hives. I can’t help it… I am special that way 😛
Now imagine my level of giddiness when I received this awesome conclusion of the “Fake Boyfriend” series. A huge epilogue for all parties involved!!
This book gave me warm and fuzzy feelings all throughout.
It also left me a bit sad though…knowing we have finally come to an end.
That said, I am sure that Eden Finley will grant us many awesome new series in the future and I will be re-reading this one over and over and over again…
This book should not be read as a stand-alone but I highly recommend the whole series, so what are you waiting for?

So much love for this series
Noah & Matt
“You’re my forever.” The two that started it all and I adore them together. Noah and Matt are growing up and it’s going to be awesome for them. They make me laugh and I want to hug them so hard, so proud of Matt. Happily, we also get a cameo in this book. Can I just say I love a very special name in this book?
Maddox & Damon
“You make my life messy in the best possible way.” Poor Damon, that is a very long flight, but I think he’s in good hands with Maddox. I’m with Damon on spiders; everyone else can fend for themselves. Ah, I missed the debates. They’re all so silly. Oh, Maddox, I adore your attitude and want to cuddle you, and Damon makes me laugh with his reactions. These two they just get each other and make me so happy.
Ollie & Lennon
“Happiness is what we make it.” I felt a teeny bit bad for Lennon and Ollie but not enough to not appreciate the mocking. Lennon is a special, special man. I think he could take over the world if he wanted to. Ollie is so goofy and sweet. I love their big gestures for each other. They really were meant to be.
Talon & Miller
Haha, these guys do have a circle. “I’m gonna love you in every shape, every age, any which way you are for the rest of our lives.” I love, love, love Talon and Miller. They’re my guys from this series. I adore their banter, antics and them. They give me all of the feels and hold my heart in their hands. What a bachelor party, but would you expect any less from Talon? He has it right with his priorities. OMG, Eden Finley, the wedding, gasp!!! Epic, amazingly epic, and the vows, sob. I want that photo. So many happy sighs.
Jet & Soren
“It’s just you and me.” Soren is so, so sweet, and Jet never fails to make laugh with his sarcasm. I think Soren has brilliant ideas and who knew Jet is such a good dancer. I’m so glad they have each other. I just want to squish them together forever. Such a great ending to their story.
I love all of these guys so much and had so many happy sighs reading their books. I’m sad to say goodbye but this book is an amazing send-off for them. There aren’t enough words to express my feelings for this series so I’ll just say thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Final Play by Eden Finley in the series A Fake Boyfriend Vacation. A wonderful series full of hot guys with lots of chemistry. This series has been a fun and sexy ride. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
It’s so hard to say goodbye to the characters of the Fake Boyfriend series. I love these men, who feel like friends after all the awesome books about them. This is a wonderful ending, wrapping up any questions we might have about the couples of the Gay Brigade and taking us into the future far enough to let us know the directions their lives are going. I love Matt and Noah, Maddox and Damon, Ollie and Lennon, Talon and Miller, and Soren and Jet. I am grateful for the chapters given to each couple. I laughed and I teared up a bit. I am completely happy with the way their stories are wrapped up here, but I still don’t want to let them go. This is an excellent series, and it is definitely one of my favorites!
Final Play catches us up on all the previous characters of the series. They are all going on a “Final Play”, a last soiree before life changes too much to live wild and free, drunk and fun on an private Island. And we get a glimpse into what happens after. Its amazing!
In part one, Matt and Noah have some unexpected revelations about how they want thier future to look like. There is a lot of drama in here surrounding Matt’s family. Emotional moments of hurt but also joy. And the sexy and sweet love these two share is definitely evident. They have some big changes about to happen but they are ready for them.
In part two, Maddox and Damon get the heat rising. Maddox also has some big plans for his lover… if only they would stop getting interrupted. Things definitely dont go as planned… but it goes exactly how it should. Fun, sweet and sexy.
In part three, Ollie and Lennon reevaluate what they really want together in their future. Surrounded by friends making huge life changes, the pressure to question if you are missing something. They realize exactly what they have. Sweet and sexy and I loved it!
In part four, Talon and Miller are enjoying thair island getaway but they have some secrets they need to confess if only they can get past their fears. Their bachelor party is definitely fun. The bring heat, sweet and fun together for their part. W also g a special treat.
In part five, Jet and Soren deliver some special surprises with their part of the story. They give us swoony/sweet… and steamy heat…. and its fantastic!
Overall, the story is well written and closes out the series in a satisfying and perfect way. We get a little taste of each of our couples and see just how amazing they are still. I’m going to miss these characters but that’s what re-reading is for.
What a fantastic gift to readers!
This book is truly awesome. It feels like it is a gift to the readers that have adored all of the boys in the fake boyfriend series.
Through this series I feel like these boys have become family. Seeing what is going on on their lives is awesome. Seeing them all together is a true gift. Eden Finley possesses what I call author black magic the ability of creating characters that feel so real that they become a part of your family!
Side note: If you haven’t read the Fake Boyfriend series I recommend you do! They are amazing. I highly recommend you read them first this could be a bit confusing. But if you are not wanting to commit to a series don’t pass this by. Get a little taste of the boys! They are a great bunch and Eden Finley has the talent to make you feel like you really know and love her characters.
I love the Fake Boyfriend series! With this final book everyone gets something in the end and some of it is unexpected. Finley has managed to end her series on a high note and very story is just so beyond words. Fans of this series will absolutely enjoy this book as we say goodbye to the guys.
All the love for this amazing series!! I’m so happy the author decided to gift her readers this last glimpse at these remarkable characters. It was such fun to reconnect with Maddox & Damon, Matt & Noah, Ollie & Lennon and Tallon & Miller and to have each of them find their unique next step in their HEA.
We’d already gotten some glimpses of the other couples from the Fake Boyfriend series in Hat Trick, Jet and Soren’s story, just enough to whet the appetite but not enough to satisfy. Final Play neatly resolves that by showing us the events leading up to (and during) Hat Trick from the other couples’ pov. It’s a wonderful, if a little emotional, final goodbye to these amazing characters.
This book has all the quirky humor, emotion and romance I’ve come to expect from an Eden Finley novel. Parting from all these wonderful MC’s is sweet sorrow indeed . I’d have happily kept on reading their stories.
The Fake Boyfriend series has been a favorite of mine since the initial release, so although each story didn’t need more of a resolution, I was more than happy to spend more time with the “gay brigade”. This collection of shorts acts as extended epilogues, building off the group vacation to Fiji featured at the beginning of book 5, Hat Trick. I know I shouldn’t have been surprised, but I initially worried it might feel overdone or repetitive. That wasn’t the case in the least. I enjoyed the time with each of the couples and loved how different and representative every story was.
Each section in Final Play is a special peek into major life decisions and changes the couples face. The shorts are well rounded with minimal to no angst, making for a fast read that brightened my mood every time I opened my kindle. Of course there’s the fun, lively dialogue, sexy chemistry, and great characters that have made the Fake Boyfriend series a favorite among so many readers. Final Play is an easy recommendation for any fans of the series who aren’t quite ready to say goodbye to this fun cast of characters.
Sad to see the Fake Boyfriend series end but what a way to go. I loved this book and devoured it in one sitting. Ollie and Lennon cemented their place as my favorite couple-Lennon’s gift to Ollie just made me smile.
A really great way to cap off this amazing series. I loved getting to hear from all of the series’ MCs one more time, I hate saying goodbye but the author gave them a great sendoff. Be sure to read the previous books first because this so not a stand-alone and not one minute of this series is to be missed.
*I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book*
Final Play gave the readers of Eden Finley’s Fake Boyfriend Series everything we could have possibly wanted in one extended epilogue. This book was a compilation of one final visit with each of the couples we’ve all come to adore. Some updates were only a few months past the end of Hat Trick (book 5), but other were many years later, where we got a glimpse at how their lives have all evolved over time, (insert clapping and squealing noise here.)
I loved these characters so much and visiting them one last time was such a great gift. I swooned, I teared up, I fanned myself, and I swooned again. Final Play was the perfect ending to a perfect series.
