Powerful and couldn’t put it down. Great book.
This is one of the best books that I have read in a long time. It truly kept me from putting it down with all of the action in the story. I highly recommend this book
Didn’t care for it and didn’t finish it
Very suspenseful!
Great story. I couldn’t put it down!
Wonderful story-telling. Read smoothly and was fulfilling. Excellent writing skills and realistic characters. Highly recommend.
I stopped reading half way through. The characters are not likeable. The story is trite. If I finish it , it will be because I’m compulsive and not because I’m dying to do so.
Fascinating story, good ending
I enjoyed this book. It was light but entertaining.
The setting of this book, pre World War II, provides plenty of material for an action packed story. The plot had some unique twists and a lot or surprises. I appreciated the character development of the main character. He was a flawed and complex hero. Unfortunately the book did not avoid flat and stereotyped villains featuring ruthless violence and gratuitous sex. Still, the book was gripping and the ending was satisfying even though they did not all live happily ever after.
Excellent story and a fine writer, I couldn’t put it down until the last page! It makes you want to hate the Germans that were in control of the country, but not the average non political Germans . Great characters, great suspense through out the story.
An excellent read. This story of a man , conflicted because of his great love and trust of his long-time special forces buddy who has made a dying request of him. The pursuit of this task leads to an intriguing, complex, and very difficult journey in a distant land with many obstacles. Reads well as problems arise, are solved, and progress is slowly made.
A wonderful book.
Could not put this book down!!
I read several pages and had to delete it from my reading. I don’t read books with strong language. I know many people are used to that, but many aren’t. There are plenty of other words that can express one’s emotions.
well written research
I was unable to even get halfway through this book. It just never seemed to make it to the main purpose of the story, which was to save the Jewish children. Too confusing and too many characters in and out of the story.
Well wrtten- held my interest throughout. Interesting characters.
Good story but too dragged out
It would have been more interesting but it had too many parts to keep with. Almost like having four different stories
