Final Invasion is the third book in the Oblivion series, a high-octane, action-packed blast that will leave military science fiction fans hungry for more!more
Received as an ARC, this is an honest review. This is the best one yet in the series with the crew of the Lost facing their darkness moments as they continue journey to Vassar-1. When they teach the world, Morgan’s crazy piloting skills as they try to get to its surface is so wild; how they didn’t die is beyond me. Getting on the planet is one thing but they face a world plunged into chaos by the Oblivion cult, putting everyone in danger with no guarantee of surviving. While this unfolds, Lee Saito is forced to endure his memories, whether true or not, as the Pale Man seeks knowledge he desperately tries to prevent him from getting. Awesome read. Highly recommended.
And here I thought it could not get any worse but the insanity of this series heads to Vassar-1 and its the AIC’s turn to survive what is coming. It was fast paced and kept me guessing a few times as Ben ends up the unlucky hero of 2 governments. I guess its his “reward” for surviving book 2. New and old characters show up and I spent half the book guessing if they were who I thought they were. Just a well written book that is not the typical space opera style that keeps me reading to see what craziness will happen next. I chose to review because I like this wacky series full of action and uncertainty.
Wonderful book
For the record, I received an Advanced Review Copy (ARC) of this book with the request that I leave a voluntary honest review for other potential readers. Having said that, here is my honest opinion and review of this book. I really love this series. The stories just get better and better. A few more new characters have joined the roster while some older side characters have dropped out (nothing too tramatic). Each of the principle characters are still with us so no Goerge R. R. Matin Game of Thrones actions yet (everyone is always going to remember that). This extended plot line keeps my interested while throwing in some short term objectives to keep things moving along. The pacing of the story still flows along nicely from start to finish keeping the tension high so that you are drawn in to the action. If you are not a fan of drawn out stories over multiple books, then this series is not for you. However, seeing is this is the third book so far and you are reading this, then you enjoy this type of extended space opera just as I do. All in all, this book is worth the time it takes to read it. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it becomes available.
**** SPOILER ALERT ****
Buckle up for a bumpy ride as Young takes us along on the further adventures of the Seito men in “Final Invasion: Oblivion // Book Three”.
The author does another fine job of world building and character development in this action packed and twist filled tale.
Fret not, the title is not true. This is NOT the final installment in the series!!
I can hardly wait to get my hands on book four!!
Q: What is the Oblivion looking for?
