A government investigator dares to expose the sinister cover-up of a deadly plane crash in this thrilling behind-the-scenes tale of the aviation industry from New York Times-bestselling author John J. Nance
In the control tower at Kansas City International Airport, all the radar displays are red. But for the experienced pilots of North America Airlines, the thunderstorms aren’t the problem: NAA … thunderstorms aren’t the problem: NAA has been cutting costs to stave off bankruptcy, and will do anything to keep their planes in the air. Unfortunately, no matter what they do, one is on its way down.
After the aircraft collides with another plane on the Kansas City runway, in one of the worst aviation disasters of the decade, National Transportation Safety Board investigator Joe Wallingford arrives on the scene. As he studies the wreckage and pieces together the events that led to the tragedy, he realizes there’s far more at play than pilot error or equipment malfunction. Wallingford will have to risk his career–and perhaps even his life–to solve the puzzle of the crash.

An exciting book from beginning to end. A merger of great fiction with fact. The plot blends everything from corporate greed to right wing radical to government incompetence.
Great read
I enjoyed reading this book from page one until the end.
This book brought to life all the horror of an aviation accident, as well as a well written coverage of what the following investigation is like. Of course, being fiction, the plot line was designed to be dramatic, but was definitely plausible.
Great mystery involving an airplane! Nance is an exceptional author.
I loved this book, it was hard to put it down.
Very well written; an excellent read.
As a selection pilot, I found this book fascinating and I learned a lot about commercial flight.
I love all his books
First John J Nance book I have read (still in process of reading it). I intend, when I have finished it, to see if he has written others and download them.
Shows a side of pilots that is scary and too much politics!
Typical Nance, simply excellent!
Gripping! Couldn’t put it down!!
One of the best books I’ve read. Full of information as to how the FAA,NTSB ,Congress and politics and others look into crash sites . It shows how air plane owners will do anything to protect their image, shelter a drunk pilot, hide shotty repairs, on and on. It’s sad, scary and sick to read all this. BUT this story was so well written, the characters so real – you just had to finish it. It’s sad what lows people have dropped to because of their greed.
I’d give it 20 stars if I could, it’s just that good!
