I will admit this was a one click book for me just because of the cover. But the story does not disappoint! This may seem like a longer than normal story but it is worth every action packed page as it follows not one, but two romantic couples. Action, suspense, the Russian mafia, hot romantic scenes … you will not want to put this one down!

Extremely good, complex and exciting
I loved it. The story is at the same time extremely complex because of the plot, the twists, the honest characters or less, who cross, seek each other. Between the torrid romances, the mourning, the shenanigans and the worlds of jewels and American high society, the Russian mafia, the FBI, I was not bored at all.
Nathan and his brother Caleb inherited their father’s empire in jewelry while they were former soldiers. They discovered that this world is not rosy and is only a game of power that they do not support but in which they will not let themselves be walked on. Their father was murdered a few months ago, and they are determined to take revenge not for their father, but for them. At the same time, a friend of their father had died, and her boyfriend, Kyle, wants to avenge her and he thinks Nathan is the culprit. Emma, an actress, is called by her sister Claire who works at the FBI to infiltrate the time of an evening at a party organized by Nathan to obtain evidence of his guilt when fraud and shenanigans with a mobster Russian. And finally, Carly, Emma’s best friend, who fled the United States because of the behavior of her family and the threats of the man with whom her parents had betrothed her, and who in Italy meets Kyle when he assault someone. All this little world will end up with his grievances, the permanent threats inherited from Nathan’s father and Caleb, and an attraction between Emma and Nathan extremely powerful and disturbing as they do not trust anyone.

Nathan deals n diamonds and only trusts his brother, Caleb. Their deal is no secrets.
Emma is an aspiring actress and just lands a part. But her older sister is in the FBI and wants her to play a very different part. She wants her to be her eyes and ears at a meeting between Nikolai Romanov and Nathan Stone. She’s be the pretty eye candy.
Plenty of drama, family drama and steam.
With diamonds.
Recommend.

A great read that takes you on a ride with danger, adventure, lost treasure and healing. There wasn’t just one set of characters that had their story but two, four couples that are entwined with each other, two are obvious but the the other two have no clue.
Nathan is a billionaire, a former mercenary who took over his dad’s company with his brother, a company he didn’t want, a company that killed his father who had an obsession with an ancient stone. Now he wants to find this diamond that took their dad away from them while he was still alive, neglecting his family on wild goose chases. In order to do so he has to make a deal with the devil and now one of the hostesses, Emma, at a party he had thrown for the devil is entangled in the dangerous web. What he doesn’t realize is she wants to be entangled with him and what he is going to do, she has her own secrets and reasons she was at the party.
Then we have Carly who is Emma’s best friend and in Italy and Carly meets Kyle, a tall, hot, brooding, cold man. Carly wants to help Kyle who seems to be lost in pain and she won’t stop at anything to bring the man back to the living. When she finally makes a breakthrough with him, she has to leave to go back to the U.S. for her best friend….will she see him again.
A great read with steam, danger, adventure, some suspense, heartbreak, heartache, secrets, lies, betrayals, murder, pain, loss, grieving, lust/love, and much more. The book is long and I flew through it, not getting bored once as the story had me glued to the pages and not wanting to put it down. I enjoyed all the characters and how they are intertwined with each other, coming to a head with all the pieces flying togther near the end. I would have liked to have seen Carly’s ex get more than what he got and whether anyone else found out that Carly was in the U.S., there was no closure for me there. Otherwise an amazing read with amazing characters all around, the story flowed beautifully and with epilogues that had me smiling from ear to ear for both couples.
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
Holy smokes! I didn’t know what I was getting myself into when I picked up the ARC copy of this book. I was expecting your typical good girl meets bad boy and falls in love storyline but this was that plus so much more.
First, this book was almost like reading two stories at one time. The major portion of the story deals with Emma and Nathan. But then there is the interweaving of the story of her best friend, Carly, and guy she falls for, Kyle. Towards the beginning I wasn’t sure about this but the more I read, the more I appreciated the intermingling of the stories.
Second, this isn’t merely a love story. There is also suspense, adventure, heart-stopping moments of danger, and the underlying current of not knowing who to trust.
This book caused me to lose so much sleep because once I would start reading, I didn’t want to up the book down. I kept telling myself just one more chapter but that turned into me reading until I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer.
Finally, since I usually read on my ereader, I don’t usually pay that much attention to the covers for books. But man, guy on this cover is HOT and definitely matches how I imagined Nathan would look.
Filthy Riches by Lauren Landish is a well woven tail of 4 people who’s lives are seemingly unconnected but become connected in the most dramatic fashion.
Emma is a archeology history major with an acting side job, she just gets hired for her first big break when her sister shows up to ask for her help. When Claire’s boss nixes her request for undercover work she goes out on her own to get the intel. As an FBI agent, Claire, has completed plenty of undercover gigs but this time she needs her sisters help. Claire assures Emma it is an easy and quick, get in and get out scenario. What no one counts on was Nathan Stone.
Nathan Stone is ex military and wants to be anywhere but behind a desk running his late fathers company. His father was murdered, or so he believes, and Nathan is doing whatever it takes to find out who is responsible. Even if that involves dealings with notoriously dangerous individuals with illegal practices. It is his responsibility to get answers for both himself and his brother Caleb. He doesn’t get blindsided or shaken until he sets eyes on Kitty aka Emma.
Carly has had a childhood of privilege, to the outside world that is, on the inside she has been mental and physically abused programmed to “take it” until one day she fleas. She packs a bag and heads as far from home and all those willing to control her as she can. Her one regret is leaving her best friend Emma behind. She stays in contact with her over the years but doesn’t regret having a new adventure just about daily. One day she literally walks into her future at a café and realizes her life will change forever.
Kyle wants revenge, revenge on the man he believes is responsible for killing his pregnant girlfriend. Being ex military he has been in numerous tight and precarious positions and he is single sighted until his eyes find Carly. With one look she reaches into the depth of his long forgotten heart and soul. He is drawn to her, as much as he doesn’t want to be to continue honoring his love for Anna, but he finds himself seeking her out in the city just to catch a glimpse of her. But he can’t lose sight of his mission to destroy his sworn enemy; he just hopes this will be enough to bring peace to his beloved Anna.
Emma, Nathan, Kyle and Carly find themselves involved in a dangerous situation that leaves Nathan and Kyle fighting against the same enemy. Will the foursome make it out alive and be able to have a future? The author weaves a tale that starts out confusing for me with all the characters but quickly came to life as I figured out the connection and common enemy early on. The novel itself is a bit of a long read but it didn’t really lag to make it drag on like some longer novels do with filler pages and meaningless conversations. A solid 4 star read I received in advance without any expectation for review. Any and all opinions expressed are my own.
Holy amazeballs! I am blown away by this book. The plot and subplot were outstanding, twisted, unexpected, and yet woven together into a cohesive story that captures the reader’s attention and doesn’t let go until the final page. The primary and secondary characters were so complex – flawed, broken, arrogant, lovable, heartbreaking, and pig-headed. I highly recommend this book and author.
