4.5 STARS REVIEW
Contemporary Romance, Dark, Mafia, Age-Gap
First Person, Multiple-POV
This is the book #1 of the Filthy Feckers series, but book #2 of The Five Points’ Collection. This story can be read as a stand-alone because this particular couple has a resolution to their story arch. But if you plan on following the series, I recommend starting with The Air He Breathes, the first book of the The Five Points’ Collection. All characters are linked and it will definitely enhance the reading experience by reading in order.
I vow not to betray you… If you don’t betray me.

MY THOUGHTS
First I would like to mention that this is a mafia romance, and like most mobsters stories that are a lot of shooting, deaths and such. But I also don’t think it is that dark. I would say, mildly dark read.
I love this series and these brothers. Even though, The Air He Breathes was like a prequel, I recommend reading that first, to truly understand this world and these brothers.
More than liking the brothers, I love the strong women the author have found for them.
I love all the characters and I’ve been playing the guessing game with them, trying to find their matches. I won’t post my wild guesses here, but if you ask me I will tell you.
Dirty family saga romance!!!

WHAT HAS REALLY WORKED FOR ME
Addictiveness: 5/5 This story grabbed me from the first word and I was kept on the edge of my seat until the end. I couldn’t stop for anything. I loved the characters, the story was filled with suspense and when I wasn’t praying for them to be well, I was fanning myself from all the heat. As addictive as chocolate!!!
Character: hero 5/5, heroine 5/5, secondary characters 5/5, growth 5/5, real 5/5 Multidimensional characters with well written story arch.
Inessa was an amazing heroine. She was so mature for her age, but the author always sort of gave up feedback for it to be believable. She had been dealt a horrible life up until her wedding and they way she reacted for everything was always like a lady. I loved her duality and the way the author explored her kinks.
Eoghan was a superb hero. He was a hard man with a good head. Even though he didn’t want anything of his life, he took his role serious and stepped it up when needed. He was a wonderful husband from the moment he saw her at the church. I didn’t even felt any moment of … what a jerk!, like I had imagined I would.
Secondary characters They were all so complex and amazing. I really wanted to know them all. There is no one here that is all good or bad. Really, the author wrote so well their dualities, that they all felt real and very believable.
Villain/antagonists … like in all mafia stories that were a whole bunch of antagonists and villains. They were all easy to spot and their story arch were clean and on point.
They are all so easy to love, connect and understand!!!
Cover: art 4.5/5, title 5/5, color-font 5/5, buy 5/5 I’m obsessed with book covers. I love to find snippets of the stories within the art. I really liked this one. I love the play on colors. I love that is mostly black that the white looks almost like neon. I love the intensity of the guy, it totally fits Eoghan. This is sexy and classy at the same time. I only missed a subtitle or something that offered me more of a snippet of the story. I would easily buy this book by its cover without needing to read the blurb!!!
Freshness: 4/5 This is a mafia story with all its clichés. I’m not going to say that I had any awe moment of surprise, but it is very well written and everything fits and feels original. As fresh as mint mentos!!!!
Plot: believable 5/5, conflict 3.5/5, dialogue 5/5, ending 4/5, enjoyment 5/5, opening 5/5, pace 5/5, setting 5/5, subplots 5/5, twists 5/5 Great opening and exciting ending. Believable plot, with hot dialogues and great pace. Fantastic setting, interesting subplots with unexpected twists. High level of enjoyment!
This is a rich world and I thing that are lots of subplots going on at the same time. To read this series in order really helps to organize thoughts and understand characters.
I love how the author used multiple voices. I’m a character reader, and I love to understand everybody. How the author have been melding these characters together by giving the reader glimpses of each of them, is truly magnificent.
Romance: believable 5/5, chemistry 5/5, description 5/5, development 3.5/5, steam 5/5 Hot alert! This couple was hot and dirty. There was an age-gap, but somehow theirs kinks, theirs likes, they fitted perfectly. I loved them together. Hot Romance!
Writing Style: 5/5 I love Ms. Akeroyd style. She writes complex characters, within cohesive plot, steamy romance, with perfect pace and wonderful dialogues. Writing of a wordsmith!
WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER
Because I try to be very analytical and I don’t really believe in perfection…
I think the main couple’s conflict was solved too early. I just wasn’t expecting that.
You MAY read this because you have been following the series; you SHOULD read this because you enjoy the author; you MUST read this because these Irish boys are hot and dirty!!!
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Eoghan is hot! He’s not a soft man. Being part of the Five Points is his life. Inessa is so sweet and young but has a wild side waiting to be revealed. I love this story. The connection they are able to build out of nothing. I love going back to the Five Points world and seeing other characters from previous books. This book was so good I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait to read more.
How do you do it?!? One after the other the books in this world just keep getting better and better! I’m absolutely blown away by Eoghan and Inessa’s book. I loved getting to see all the other characters I’ve been missing. I don’t want to spoil anything but I need Declan’s book like yesterday after that little bomb drop at the end!!!
Eoghan comes from the five point gang.
Inessa comes from the bravta..
I wouldn’t say this is a match made in heaven in the beginning, but only because neither if them wanna be married to the other.
Inessa is 16 when the book starts. Both their parents make a contract to wed them.
Eoghan fights meeting Inessa until the big day, and right off the bat he knows something is wrong. What is a five points man to do when he notices his bride is hurt on their big day, well reign in his temper of course. Although Inessa has never met him til that day she’s learning quite a bit of her husband to be right infront of everyone in the church…
I dont wanna give spoilers, I loath them in reviews. I will say just because they were contracted to be married they found their own way. The chemistry between the two are on fire. They have more things in common then they thought they would. Inessa seems to have finally found her place in the world and Eoghan has already decided she is his to protect.
I enjoyed reading Eoghan and Inessa’s story, have decided it is gonna be in my reread pile forever. Adore them two together. I am looking forward to the next book in the series with more of the crossovers to. Its didn’t start as a match made in heaven but it sure ended as one.
I loved it! I didn’t read the first book but I’ll be doing that soon! The chemistry in here was amazing as always!
I loved diving back in to the Five Points world. Eoghan and Inessa are forced into an arranged marriage by their parents to form an alliance between their Irish and Russian mob families. Inessa is a lot younger, and was promised while still a teenager. Eoghan doesn’t even meet his bride until they’re standing at the altar on her eighteenth birthday.
Eoghan is super protective of his wife, and Inessa really wants to have a genuine connection with him. I really love a super protective Alpha type, and Eoghan is perfection.I really enjoyed watching these characters grow closer and form a real connection and genuine affection for each other. They allow each other to be themselves with no judgement, and it brings them closer together.
I love how this series also ties in with the Hell’s Rebel’s and Satan’s Sinners series, and how you get to catch up with some other favorite characters while falling for new ones at the same time. I also enjoy the other character perspectives in this story that help to tie in future books in this series. Can’t wait to read the next in this series!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book
Filthy Rich by Serena Akeroyd is book 2 in The Five Points’ Mob Collection. This is the story of Eoghan and Inessa. I haven’t yet read the previous book (which I hope to fix soon) so for me this was a standalone book. Eoghan is a older man in the Irish Mafia where as Inessa is just turned 18 and is a Russian Mafia Princess. So a marriage of convinces has been set in motion for both of them to marry each other to tie the two mafia families together. Eoghan is loyal to his family so even though this is a marriage he does not want he knows he will go forward to do it. Inessa has know her place to in her family but hasn’t had it easy with the abuse she has taken. Then when she is 18 she is quickly married off to Eoghan. Both are so different and neither wanted the marriage but marriage in a mafia is for life..only death will part them. Eoghan with his gruffly harshness feels very protective of Inessa from this first moment he is with her. That protectiveness is something Inessa needs badly and has never had. Inessa brings softness and caring into Eoghan world so they each start to have feelings that they never thought to have toward each other. Loved this book! Need more from this author!
Find your next book boyfriend here! Holy wow Eoghan is hooooot yall. Seriously though I can’t even. I adore these characters, loved the cameos, this book is epic!
Filthy good. Eoghan is one sexy sniper that I would love to have my hands on and around. He’s possessive right from the start, will do anything to protect what is his and is fierce. I love him and Inessa’s beginning. These two were meant for each other! Panty dropping, hot and emotional. I loved the ending and cannot wait for Declan’s story!
Amazing audio book!! I love the narrators!
Loved this so much!!!!! Oh my lord do I have a book hangover from hell since I finished it! After finishing all sinner no saint, then this masterpiece! I could not stop reading it, I love Eoghan and Inessa I love the crossovers in this book and I genuinely can’t wait to read more from this series! Just after reading Filthy Rich, I’ve grown proper attached to Eoghan’s siblings especially Brennan! This is so unbelievable well written, thank you Serena! You never fail to make me fall in love with your characters! Fantastic!
An unwanted arranged marriage by two opposing families just for the purpose of building alliances is how Eoghan & Inessa (FMC) start this book off. Two people brought together by necessity more than love who know very little about each other or if they can trust each other either being. As well as an age difference they find a way to make it work. I loved how protective Eoghan with all gruffness of Inessa. Especially against her abusive father. The crossover of characters from The Hells Rebels books – Amaryllis, Ink, Keys & Saint was a brilliant touch. Kept me more interested (even though the story was killer in its own right) from start to finish. So good i couldnt put it down. Read it all in one night that was how good it was!! Now im dying to get my hands on Aela & Declan’s book from the sound of it its gonna be a goody!
Welcome back to the Five Points family- this time we’re diving into the DELICIOUS relationship between Irish mafia prince Eoghan and his barely legal Russian Bratva bride, Inessa. And, we get some of my favorite romantic drama tropes played out- age gap, mafia tensions, and arranged marriage- AH, all my favorites! Say goodbye to your book boyfriends, ladies, because Eoghan will not only melt your panties, he’s going to melt your heart.
What has always drawn me to Serena’s work is that she is a master at romantic chemistry- both physical and emotional. Those steamy scenes. OMG SO HOT. Eoghan has a dirty mouth, and I want him to use it on me! But, we also have authentic and sweet emotional intimacy between them. These two characters are so perfectly matched- Inessa softens Eoghan with her steadiness and sweetness, and Eoghan unleashes Tessa from her gilded cage giving her the physical and emotional safety she’s always needed, caring for her in a way she hasn’t experienced. And lordy- he’s a dreamboat. Somehow a man who can take out a guys kneecap, give a girl a big O, and say and do the sweetest most romantic things all in the span of 5 minutes. SWOON.
The experience of reading a Serena Akeroyd book is always incredibly immersive, and that is the case here- I feel so grounded in the world of our characters, so connected to their emotions, entangled in the action. I’m consistently impressed by the quality of Serena’s writing- she’s inventive, technically complex, and stylistically nuanced- from the descriptive settings to the stylistic shifts used in the different POVs. The pace is more one note throughout- minus a pretty quick climax at the end- I don’t find that a fault at all, in fact, it let the relationship be front and center, establishing a more experienced connection with our characters, but I was wondering for a bit exactly where the conflict would come- we have a few red herrings, and what ended up being the big final “drama” surprised me. The relationship here is SO compelling, so dreamy, that anytime they weren’t together (ie mafia business that I couldn’t always grasp)- I found myself a bit less engaged. If anything, that is a testament to Serena’s dynamic character connection, and fortunately those parts were few in number.
Fans will recognize some of their favorites from past books (not just Eoghan’s brother from Book 1), and we also have some nice groundwork for the series to come, even if they pulled from our main story a bit. Fortunately the last few chapters really re-centered me. Somehow a book about a world of violence and abuse and a love story that started off with distrust, disinterest, and resentment became a sweet, gentle, and heartwarming tale of the magic of unexpected love. Definitely a fun and YUMMY read!
(Five Points #2) Filthy Rich, Eoghan & Inessa
I Adored this book and when I read a new one I always try to find it’s core or at least what I feel is its core. This story is at its core about being what you choose to be and building what you choose to build. Even when if it seems like you don’t have many choices, there is always a choice… though it might not be our first, second, or even third option. Eoghan & Inessa are two people who find themselves bonded together against their own volition. On the day they become husband and wife Inessa thinks to her self… ”There was no divorce in our world. Only death. Either through the freedom of illness or violence.”. And I’m like WOW such “happy and grim thoughts” but it not quite long after that Eoghan’s actions start to show Inessa and himself that they can have and be more than their circumstance allowed them to originally believe.
This series is one I am reading to the end and this book made me more invested in these “characters”. Now I just have to wait for the next one and thankfully Serena Akeroyd doesn’t normally make us readers wait long.
Welcome to the Family!
I’ve died and gone to heaven! The tangled web Serena Akeroyd has woven is absolutely brilliant, off the charts amazing, and only something she could accomplish. 5 Stars across the board. Her story telling prowess comes out full force in Filthy Rich. Not only do we get a violently beautiful love story between arranged bride and groom, Eoghan & Inessa, but we get so many teasers for future books to come!
The flow of this book feels so natural that it sucked me in and took me for a ride with the characters. Filthy Rich is Eoghan & Inessa’s story but it is so much more. Eoghan is an O’Donelly, a Five Points man, Mafia. Family means everything to the O’Donelly clan and that is very evident throughout the book. Serena uses it and their multiple POV to pull the story together and make it easy to connect to these dynamic and violent characters. By the end you feel like you are part of the family and living in their spare bedroom.
However! While family is important, we don’t get to choose who they are, we are born in to them. Marriage is suppose to be an opportunity to choose someone of your own. Unfortunately for Eoghan and Inessa, that choice is ripped from them. One contract later and their Head-of-Household’s have signed their freedom of choice away, thus uniting the two Mafia Dynasties through marriage.
Eoghan is reluctant, to say the least, to being tied to Bratva scum. Inessa doesn’t want to trade one hell for another, but has no choice, never had a choice in her family. How will this work out for them? Inessa who is all demure and sophisticated. Eoghan who is a lone wolf and very particular about everything in his life. Can Inessa be a lady in public and the freak in the sheets he needs? Will Eoghan be able to give her the care and safety she pines for?
There are so many delicious surprises and twists. So….Welcome to the family! Filthy Rich is the next book in the Five Points Universe which includes overlapping with the Hell’s Rebels MC and Satan’s Sinners MC collections creating a Universe I can’t wait to sink my teeth into more!
Inessa & Eoghan = “We “come” together……cuz Opposites Attract!”
Now that I have you singing, Thanks Paula Abdul, the title is completely true when it comes to this book.
We begin with Inessa, an 18 year old Bratva Princess who has understandable trust issues having been basically used as property by her Russian family to marry 31 year old Veteran now mob sniper Eoghan. I can’t imagine why she’d have trust issues. lol.
Then we have Eoghan, who was never given a chance to find a bride of his own, as we learned in Five Points Book #1. Always did what Da wanted him to do, now he has to marry an 18 year old virgin. What could possibly go wrong?
I loved how quickly you could tell romance was blooming with these two (oddly after the wedding) and even when Eoghan would kiss her on the forehead, I just wanted to faint, lol.
Besides the fact Eoghan is a mob sniper, he’s still a good man, even if he doesn’t believe it. Inessa, being only 18 and still pliable princes, needs a strong man to mold her into a woman….a Queen. I loved this book. LOVED.
Every time I start reading a book from Serena I think no she cant do better than the last one. Okay here goes nothing…. from an arranged marriage to love that is what Inessa and Eoghan have. The 5 points family lovers here even if she is bratva. I dont want to give to much away but I would make sure to start at “all sinner no saint” to get the full experience. Its not necessary to start there but the characters do show up in other books. I don’t want to give to much away, but you should try these books fall in love with the characters you won’t be disappointed.
P.s. you finally get to see whats up Declans ass.
I absolutely loved the main characters. I can’t wait to find out more about the other Five Points Men and their women. Another amazing book by Serena!
I can’t wait for the next book! The Five Points brothers… mmmm I’ll take them all please! Eoghen and Inessa are so good together. Things may have started against their will but they do their best and really bloom from the ordeal. And the amount of crossovers!! You’ll have to read all the five points and MC books!! Definitely won’t be disappointed in this read!
Eoghan was introduced to us in the first part of the Five Points Collection. Now he’s in an arranged marriage to a Bratva princess, Inessa.
Inessa and Eoghan have amazing chemistry together, Serena pulled off making this story so beautiful, loving, steamy and just overall incredible. Eoghan is deadly in his job, making him very successful, but he’s a very lovable character who is fiercely protective of Inessa. I couldn’t stop turning the pages for their story.
I just love how this story makes romance alive during some dark times in life. I couldn’t get enough and I cannot wait to read more of the Five Points world.
Helllooooooo hotness! If your into controlling men, this is a must read! I love how Eoghan goes from not wanting anyone to tie him down to growing his love for Inessa. Inessa seemed like a timid school girl, but boy did she enjoy Eoghan’s control. I loved how even though Eoghan was not prepared to fall in love, he was highly protective of Inessa. Great story line with AMAZING tie-ins from other stand alone’s!
