Caitlin is one of my fave authors and I love how prolific and versatile she is. This was an amazing start to a fab series and I love all these bad boys! Can’t wait to see Marnye get her revenge in book two!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this series!
This book was beyond phenomenal. The start of a new series, the author had been teasing it for a little while on social media. And it looked good. I mean, good. Four books, one for each year of high school, starting with freshman year. I knew it was going to ruin me, and I was not wrong. Bully romances are really big right now, and a lot of RH authors are putting a toe back into trad romances, because most of them aren’t RH. This book is RH, which is fantastic, I think. Because there haven’t been many people doing RH bully romances yet, this book really stood out for me.
As always, the writing is incredible. This author is one of the most emotive and evocative writers; it’s amazing how she can throw you into whatever the main character is feeling and just make you forget that your reading. The quality is always there – it’s well-written, well-edited, developed, and deliciously descriptive (I say this a lot about CM Stunich, because I think there are few out there who can rival her ability to simply describe something).
Marnye as a main character stands out for me among other FMC’s by this author. By and large, this author doesn’t do weak women, which I love. But Marnye. The girl has a backbone of titanium. At such a young age, she’s been through so much, and she puts herself through so much more because she has a goal (college and a good job) and she is determined to get there, even if it means putting herself through years of social torture to get there. She’s not going to let some over-privileged, spoiled brats gets in her way. In step the Idols to try to break her, and it’s not just guys. The Idols are guys and girls who put Marnye through a rollercoaster. In this book, we don’t really find a lot out about the guys. You see glimpses here and there, but that’s it. There’s some relationship development in this book, and we see a lot of character development in some of the characters. I appreciate that there is some vagueness here, but I don’t really believe in spoilers in reviews.
My opinion on the ending is likely going to be unpopular. I think this book doesn’t end on a cliffhanger. It feels like it because there is a climax to end all climaxes here, but I genuinely don’t think this is a technical cliffie. And I say this after suffering a shocking book hangover from this book, but in retrospect, there isn’t a cliffhanger here. The story for the year is done; it’s complete. It’s not like it ends in the middle of a scene where the main character has been sucked into a vortex after her group has been attacked, or one of main character gets pulled away at a crucial moment that could mean life or death. The hard thing to accept with this one is that the year is done and you don’t know what’s coming next. That cliffie feeling that comes from this book is that, emotionally, you NEED more. It’s that well-written, that you just need to know what happens next, but that doesn’t mean the story is unresolved. It’s an explosive ending, for sure, but you know what’s happened. Fantastically, book 2 is out after only a three week-ish gap, so you don’t need to worry about reading at your own peril anymore, but download both books at once, because you will binge them.
This book put me in the heaviest book hangover I have had in over a year. Like, I couldn’t even review the book. At the point I’m writing this, I’ve already read book 2 (a time or four). I actually could not read anything else after this for 11 days. I tried, and nothing was doing it for me, so I finally gave up because I knew book 2 was coming. My brain was not ready to give up Burberry Prep. Thankfully, book 2 was out 11 days after reading this book, and it was my redemption, but more on that in another review. Hands down, this is one of the best books I’ve read this year. And thus far, the series is shaping up to be pretty, frigging amazing.

Wow just Wow! C.M. does an amazing job of character and environment development. I love the FMC. She has a past that a lot of us can relate to. The Idols in this story are major butt-holes, to put it nicely. I am upset with Marnye for not seeing this twist that comes in the end. I’m heartbroken over Miranda and Andrew. Can’t wait for Year 2 to come out.
I recommend this book/series!
*** I have Kindle Unlimited, and I used that service to read this book. ***
This book is an emotional roller coaster. One minute I am appalled by the horrendous bullying and then I am pulling my hair out by the MC for her naive traits. But trust me you want to read it through and go into the next three books. This is a reverse harem book, so please be aware.
Oh wow, I was completely blown away by this book.
The cruelty and kindness. The moments in light and the hours in darkness. The pranks and the gifts, the genuine and the fake.
This book literally has it all and any bully trope enthusiast will be in seventh heaven reading this beauty of a book!
A truly fantastic start to the Rich boys of Burberry prep series, and because it’s not a new release there’s no waiting time to delve into the next book “Bad bad blue bloods”.
This is a true bully romance. So many of them have the girl and the guy falling so fast but this series has started out completely different than any others I’ve read. It’s written so freaking well I’m hooked line and sinker. I couldn’t put it down. I’m so engrossed in this series I couldn’t write this until halfway through book 2 because I didn’t want to pause my reading. Loving this series so much!!
Filthy Rich Boys was very intriguing and unlike anything I have ever read before. The plot follows a girl named Marnye who has been accepted to a prestigious high-school on a scholarship. The school is ruled by six “idols” and their followers who are not all that happy for a charity case to attend their school and from the first moment they make it their mission to do anything possible to make Marnye drop out of their school.
What is interesting about Filthy Rich Boys is that the Prologue tells you how the book will end. So really, reading this book is like watching a train wreck. You’re uncomfortable, but you just cannot help yourself. Maybe I am a masochist.
While I enjoyed the book, I have couple of issues with it. The major one being that all the characters in this book are 15. I get that the book is set in secondary school, but I imagined them being a bit older, at least 17. Finding out that they are only 15 was a bit of a turn off for me. I mean, what 15 year olds even think about getting engaged? And what 15 year olds have that much power over the school, including the principal and staff? They are just kids and should not have more authority than an adult. And what 15 year olds are s*x gods? To be honest, having 15 and s*x in the same sentence paints quite a disturbing picture.
I have mixed feeling about Marnye. She must be one of the most gullible, naive and desperate heroines ever created. The three male “idols”, Tristan, Creed and Zayn treat her bad from the very beginning and then out of nowhere start to be nice to her and she does not get suspicious at all. Are you that desperate for human contact that you do not even start to question when your three major bullies start to treat you better after treating you terribly?
She also unknowingly gets involved in this “infinity club” where basically rich kids make bets, sometimes involving life and death situations, out of sheer boredom. And of course she loses one of the bets and has to pay up. The thing is, she refuses to forgive her bully turned boyfriend from middle school, Zack, for turning her into a bet. But then she does the exact same thing to her best friend? A bit hypocritical if I say so myself. It made me nauseous how she tried to defend her actions by trying to convince herself that she did not have a choice. But she did, she just didn’t make the right one. Instead she chose the club (of which she knows next to nothing about) over the one person that had her back since day one. And when Miranda finds out about the bet, she stop speaking to Marnye and she does not seem to be all that bothered by it, as long as she has a boyfriend by the end of the school year. As far as I am concerned, she does not deserve a friend like Miranda.
While there were things that bugged the hell out of me about Marnye, I still liked her and her resilience. She never backed down from the bullies and it was truly admirable. That being said, I cannot help but feel like she was asking for it and got exactly what she deserved. She should have been happy with the few true friends that she made, but instead she got greedy.
Another thing, she said that she was dating Zack for 6 months before he broke up with her and they only shared one kiss?! I really would love to see what they got up to during their 6 month relationship. Not to mention that Zack almost made her kill herself. Why the hell would you start dating a guy like that? Do you have brains at all?
While the idols are really intriguing and I cannot wait to learn more about them, it was also sickening to see how low they regard human life. Make a bet to make a girl commit suicide? That is just so messed up. Tristan, Creed and Zayn were such assholes it is a bit hard to see how it will be even possible for Marnye to ever forgive them for what they did, much less for them all to end up being in a relationship.
I am excited to see how exactly does Marnye plan on getting back at her bullies. It better be spectacular!
As far as reverse harem High school bully romance books go, this is amongst one of the best ones
Filthy Rich Boys is not easy on your heart. So many enemies and one heck of a journey. Marnye came from the wrong side of the tracks but she is a fighter for what she believes in. This series is sooooo worth binge reading.
This was the first book in this series and the first book that I have read from this author. This is a very unique Great Bully Romance with reverse harem backstory. This was not at all what I was thinking it was going to be. Marnye is a strong girl that fights for what she wants. She doesn’t let anyone get in her way. But in this one the other kids in this school don’t take kindly to her being there. And they show her exactly how much they don’t want her there. Some of the parts of this storyline were a little rough for me but that is what made this storyline so interesting. Twists and turns that you don’t see coming. I absolutely love each and every character in this series. It was an amazing first book to what I am hoping is a great series.
This is my all-time go-to Bully RH Romance. I have read this series 4 times and I’m not ashamed to admit it. The characters are written perfectly and all of the pranks are so realistic and fuels the need for revenge. AWESOME READ.
This is promising to be a must read series. I know, i want more.
HOLY MOTHER OF BOOK LOVERS!
THIS BOOK WAS FREAKIN AWESOME! I LOVED THIS BOOK! WOW, where do I start? This book is a completely mind f**k. It’s a rollercoaster ride that never stops. My heart was breaking for Marnye , the life she has had to endure was enough to break most people but she survived and has grown stronger because of it. When she gets accepted to the prestigious Burberry Prep on a scholarship she has no idea what she’s in for. Enter Tristan, Creed, and Zayd and the rest of the Bluebloods of the school and they hate Marnye before she even starts. She is put through hell from her very first day. She’s tortured in ways I can’t even explain. I really don’t know anyone who could go through what they do to her and still get up everyday and go on. The ending was shocking. I knew something was coming but what comes is too much. I was bawling like a baby for poor Marnye. And I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT! I can’t wait to start the next book. I EXTREMELY recommend this book to everyone.
O M G
I wanted to stop reading after the first chapters, but I just couldn’t stop. I had to see where it was going, and…Dayum! Now, I just need to finish this series and see where it all ends. On to the next! #HappyReading
I strive as a blogger to constantly read new tropes and authors or to give ones that I hadn’t necessarily liked in the past a second chance. It’s completely unsurprising to me in 2019 that my love of dark romance only grew. I’ve always like heavier novels and often seem to gravitate towards anything but cookie-cutter romance—even though I will concede that even I need them once in a while to lighten the load, so to speak! (Bear with me as I go about this review in a long-winded fashion…)
I confess that I was shocked on several fronts this year. Primarily for two reasons… first, my love of the high school, bully romance, a trope that I’ve never enjoyed became second only to dark romance in my favorites. There is no denying it, I’ve become quite obsessed with them! While in the past, the few I read and did not DNF, weren’t something I would reread. And then 2019 happened… go figure! I used to loathe entirely anything set during the character’s high school career—I just can’t relate as much now that I am in my thirties. And while I wasn’t bullied in high school and I don’t condone bullying in any way, shape, or form, I can’t deny that these books hold an appeal for me now that they’ve never had before… I always root for the underdog and want to see them overcome the obstacles laid before them. So, while I don’t love the high school age per se, I do love to see a heroine who’s not only strong but shows the bully whose boss…
Additionally, I have always loathed books that ended with a cliffy! Now, I can acknowledge that as much as I hate cliffhangers—and believe them to be the absolute bane of my existence—they do serve a purpose and can be done really well. Yet, in the past, I have avoided them like one would the plague and wouldn’t pick up a book knowing it wasn’t a standalone. However, as time has progressed for me, working as a blogger and an editor, I can appreciate a cliffy more and more TBH.
So you can likely now see where I am going with this review. It was really, R.E.A.L.L.Y. outside of my character to grab Filthy Rich Boys by C.M. Stunich. I’d read something in the past that she’d co-written and it was something that I honestly DNF’ed. But again, I am of the mindset that I need to always give an author a second chance. And right now, since I’ve finished 10 books by this particular author in roughly 30 days… I can honestly tell you that I am thrilled I did!
Filthy Rich Boys by C.M. Stunich is a high school bully romance that has some darker elements and I couldn’t put it down… The first book is mostly a tease in terms of romance, and if you’re reading it for sex, then you’ve picked up the wrong series. However, there are moments that are still pretty sexy and the chemistry between the heroine and the bullies is intense and well done. Honestly, I didn’t know who I wanted Marnye with more…Tristan, Zayd, or Creed. Also, as much as I loathe a cliffhanger, the one readers find themselves with at the end of Filthy Rich Boys was extremely well done. It made it impossible to stop with one book and my interest in the series at that point was totally vested in the outcome of each year of Marnye’s high school experience. There was absolutely. no. way. I. was. not. immediately diving from one book into next. It was painful to read what Marnye went through and a big part of me couldn’t move on until she got some revenge… But it was the way the story was written that kept me coming back after each book for more. C.M. Stunich is an incredibly talented storyteller and has a gift for writing unputdownable books. I read the four Burberry Prep books back to back with little sleep and can’t recommend them enough. I even bought Filthy Rich Boys on audio and listened to it again while I was baking for the holidays—it’s almost sacrilegious but I couldn’t resist. (And yes, I’m waiting with bated breath for the remainder of the audio books right now…) I am not going out on a limb here, and have in fact found many who agree, that the Burberry Prep series is a top read for 2019 for many readers and bloggers. I know it certainly was for me. I couldn’t have been more entertained and wouldn’t hesitate to give this series more then five stars if I could…
*KU read
** First time reading author
CM brings to life a reverse harem with a bully highschool theme involved. And yes, these boys are mean, rude, and unbearable. At some points, you want to go into the book and beat the hell out of them yourself. But at last, it is just a book. But they pick the wrong girl to pick on.
Marnye is a complicated girl, and at times, you just shook your head at her. But again, you have to remind yourself you are dealing with children. They are not always the brightest. Marnye wanted to see the good in everyone, including the boys that were making her life hell.
For my first book by CM, I couldn’t put it down. Filthy Rich Boys has made me a life long fan of hers. I would highly recommend this series.
Cruel book as you expect some kind of love story then forget it.
Overall: Dark, shocking, emotional, cruel, abuse, bullying and betrayal.
Epilogue ended as I thought.
Thank you C.M. Stunich!
I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. This author always delivers and leaves me wanting more.
This lacks the charisma and pull of the secret girl. It’s outlandish qualities (come on the harp??) overshadow any “story” not that there’s much of one. At least the guys had a reason to torment Charlotte in this one they just attack the girl on site for as far as I can tell just being poor. What bugged me most was what they did to her hair, I’ve read a few other books like this and I think that takes it too far. She should have at least been safe in her room if not anywhere else. The fact that she gets in a car with them later is astoundingly dumb. And that’s when I stopped reading because it’s very lackluster. The vague stuff with Zach isn’t enough to pull me in. Also jokes on these fuckers that wasted their own money to burn a priceless book. Ooooh you showed her. Dumbasses.
The more I try to trudge through this the more pretentious she gets. between the harp, somehow beating everyone with better grades, acting like she’s never heard pop or rock music, and her instant attraction to the boys basically making her life hell she isn’t gaining much sympathy from me or anyone else. Not sure I’ll make it to the end but I am intrigued with whatever miranda is keeping tight lipped about. Everything else is boring or obnoxious.
The big twist is so weak…..she shouldn’t have been buddy buddy with Zach to begin with. She doesn’t act like he bullied her at all, especially not to a point where she wanted to take her life twice. Wrapping lizzie into it just seems like a device only designed to give the idols an in with her before they rip her apart.
Miranda behaving that way was ridiculous she should have told creed herself, but what’s really weird is why did creed even go talk to Andrew? Marnie told him what the truth was.
So basically she pines after the ex that bullied her, finds out it was for a bet. Bails on that friendship. She bet creed that she would tell him who his sister was dating and when she did she loses miranda because creed outs Andrew after talking to her. she hangs out with the idols a lot after the initial party they drove her to, they all start coming on to her obviously and that leads to her having to choose one. BAM it was a bet the entire time and they filmed her whenever she had an intimate moment with either of them. They also have her beat up for good measure, poor paint on her like she’s carrie at the prom, and throw all her underwear on stage with her that they stole. BUT she says she coming back next year. God this was so slow and dumb. None of these characters are very likable and it’s so unrealistic, outrageous, and boring. I don’t know if I’ll continue, I don’t want to. But there’s suppose to be a cross over between here and the adamson academy. So I may have to suffer through it.
What’s really disgusting and a big clue that these dudes are absolutely full of shit is how they still call her working girl, charity, and various other rude ass things despite suddenly wanting a relationship with her. This trope is the end all be all of if he’s mean to you that means he likes you, only this is gross and the boys are less than dirt honestly.
