He looks like he belongs on stage, stripping out of his firefighter uniform, not running into a burning building to save me. But thank God he did. When the smoke clears and my eyes focus on my savior, one look at his gorgeous face and tattoo-covered muscles, I know he’ll be too much for me to handle. It’s a good thing I never have to see him again, right? Except, losing my home to a fire means … fire means finding somewhere new to live, and guess who just happens to be my new roommate? Hayden Flynn. The filthy-talking firefighter who’s been front and center of all of my dreams lately.
Our attraction is undeniable, but it’s the adventures he takes me on that has me falling for him, each new experience chipping away at the wall I’ve been hiding behind.
He wasn’t supposed to see past my scars.
He wasn’t supposed to break me apart piece by piece, then put me back together again.
He was just supposed to be a firefighter. I didn’t expect him to end up saving my life, in more ways than one.

Another Perfect offering for the fans of the Cocky Hero Club series. Did you love Chance and Aubrey from Cocky Bastard? Ever wonder about Chance’s sister, Adele? This is the perfect story for someone who had been through so much. I really love the intensity of I loved the characters of Adele and Hayden. He saves her when her house catches on fire only to end up his roommate. Adele and Hayden each come into the story with their own baggage and you just know once they shed it that their love is one for the ages.
I wanted more of this story. I wanted more of them. They are just one of those couples that sticks with you. Often when you fall in love with a story there just isn’t enough of it. The ending felt a little rushed. This was a quick and easy read. I would give it a 4/5, simple because the ending was rushed. It is a really well-done story.
I was so excited when I found out that “Filthy Firefighter” featured Adele Bateman, Chance’s sister from Cocky Bastard. I had always loved her character and she definitely met her match when Hayden came roaring into her life. Who wouldn’t want to be rescued by a sexy and gorgeous firefighter? Hayden is fun, flirty and adventurous, and always goes after what he wants. He is somewhat of a loner and had never met a woman who he could see spending his life with, until he saved Adele from the fire that brought them together. Adele’s mind had been swirling with memories of that night, with the focus on the heroic firefighter with the pale blue eyes. She is very close to Chance and his wife Aubrey, but had few friends because she found it hard to trust anyone. Adele was certainly surprised when Hayden turned out to be her roommate. Would spending time with him be what she had dreamt about or would his cocky personality tear down the walls that she had chosen to live behind? Adele and Hayden were destined to meet because they needed each other so they could be free of their pasts and plan for the future. Hayden wanted Adele to experience life and open her heart to love and she was the stability that he didn’t know he needed. Together, they helped each other grow, love and find happiness. That was all anyone could ever hope for.
Well, Emma Louise, you got me to cry. This sex on a stick fireman hottie broke me. Del broke my heart but Hayden broke me.
Filthy Firefighter is deliciously dirty. Imagining that cover model is Hayden is super easy. The tattoos, the blonde locks, and the even easier to imagine blue eyes…I was half i. Love with Hayden before he even said a word. Once I knew about the dirty talking….I turned to a puddle of want. I’m still in gelatinous form and it will be a while.
Hayden is a dream guy through and through. Just please, don’t start setting fires so he can rescue you. He has his hands full!
Filthy Firefighter is THE Cocky Hero Club book to read this summer. I decided to jump into it because the blurb grabbed my attention, and I’m so glad I did because it’s a page-turner, can’t-put-it-down, took-me-out-of-a-slump book. Brilliant storytelling and impeccably written by Emma Louise. I’ve never read a book by this author, and I’m so glad I took a chance because it was everything I needed.
Based on the world created by Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland, Filthy Firefighter follows Cocky Bastard’s Chance younger sister, Adele Bateman. She is determined to not let the past dictate who she is, yet she doesn’t let go of the past nor she forgives herself. Adele meets cocky and sexy firefighter Hayden Flynn when he rescues her from a fire in her apartment. Their attraction is instant, and fate will make sure they bump to each other again. Because guess who becomes Adele’s new roommate?
The story is filled with slow burn and build up. They are simply meant to be. Hayden’s charm is hilarious and swoony. He gets the real Adele, even without her being open about her insecurities. Hayden knows who he wants, and is willing to not let go. And when they are finally together, it’s amazingly explosive. And the surprises! Shh… better to read the book to find out about the plot twists.
Filthy Firefighter left me wanting more because this couple is unforgettable. So being a greedy ready, I want to see more of them. But I was also happy to catch up with Cocky Bastard’s Aubrey and Chance. I can’t recommend this book enough!
This is a new author to me and I’m glad I started with this story! This book was freaking awesome and it won’t be my last read by the author!! Adele has always been dependent on people for her happiness and when she breaks up with her boyfriend she is floundering. He was a safe choice but he didn’t get her motor revving and she finally realized that and had to cut him loose. One night she sets her bathroom on fire and a hunky AF firefighter rescues her. Their eyes lock and they are both goners. Hayden eats, sleeps and lives for the job but when his eyes lock on Adele it’s game over. On a twist of fate Hayden and Adele become roommates and he saves her in a completely different way by pushing her out of her comfort zone repeatedly. Will their relationship burn brightly or will it go up in flames? I highly recommend this book!!
Oh wow this was a good one. Short but good.
Adele has been through some hectic issues in her past and that has led her to being a conservative and very uptight. At work she has no friends as she keeps to herself as she does know how they would feel about her past. She broke up with a sweet gentle caring man as she started freaking out when he was talking about marriage.
Until one night she took a bath with some candles to relax and almost burn down her house, and that’s how she met Hayden Flynn.
Hayden can’t seem to stop thinking about the women he saved until he walks into his house and see his new roommate… Adele… The women he saved. As he gets to know her he can see that his work is cut out for him as Adele has some deep hurts that he knows he will gladly help her get over but first he needs to convince her to give them a chance
I really enjoyed this. It was sweet, romantic, low on the angst but it was also steamy and hotHayden was so patient and sweet with Adele and even though she tried to push him away he didn’t give up. A good addition to the COCKY HERO Universe
Filthy Firefighter had me in tears in the first couple of chapters. I was hooked from the very first page. This is the first novel that I have read by Emma Louise and it certainly won’t be the last as I honestly couldn’t put this book down.
Where can I find myself a Hayden? I am tempted to try and persuade my cat to climb a tree so that I can call the fire brigade out to see if he comes to rescue her Hayden Flynn is everything I could want in one fabulous package. He’s hot, caring, kind, thoughtful, funny and Adele is one very lucky lady to have him fall for her!
Adele is amazing. She doesn’t realise just how strong she is and my heart ached for her when I learned everything that she had been through. I felt that the author portrayed her character perfectly. I could understand why she feels the way that she does about herself and her reluctance to move on and find happiness. I desperately wanted Adele to accept her past and be proud of how much she has achieved and overcome.
The connection between Adele and Hayden is undeniable. Their chemistry is off the charts. I absolutely loved their interactions; both the heart-warming chats and the banter that they shared. I sincerely hope that this isn’t the last that we see of them.
Filthy Firefighter receives a full 5 star rating from me. I thought that this heartfelt story was written beautifully. It is a must read!
Emma Louise is still a pretty new to me author. Heck, Filthy Firefighter is only the second book I’ve read from her but this one was super fun. A few Chance, Aubrey and Pixy cameos didn’t hurt either!
I liked that Adele was a bit of a mess. A loner. Still struggling to find herself after the mess her life had become a few years ago. She didn’t quit. She fought. Battled her demons. But one scary night threw her life off balance again.
Enter Hayden. Firefighter. Runner. Adele’s new roommate! To say there was sexual tension between these two would be putting it mildly. I could feel it pulsing off the page. It was in the stares and the avoidance. And when that damn finally broke…whew hot!!
Equal parts steamy and sweet, Filthy Firefighter had me rooting for Adele from the start. I was so glad that Hayden gave Adele the patience and push she needed to let her walls down. Even if it did take a near tragedy to break that final barrier. And that ending…a little far fetched- maybe but still exactly the kind of crazy happy they deserved.
Yet another new author found through the world of CHC, my list of must read authors is growing by the day and after reading Filthy Firefighter I’m left wondering why Emma Louise hasn’t crossed my radar before now but don’t worry that’s about to change because this quick read packed a mighty punch, it captivated me from the first line to the last word and I loved everything about it.
Hayden Flynn is everything you expect a firefighter to be, he is strong, he is hot and he is totally swoon worthy, he is not looking for a relationship after all he has no trouble with hook ups but that’s about to change when he recuses Adele (Chance’s sister from Cocky Bastard) from her house fire. The attraction is instant and the chemistry is intense and just like Cocky Bastard the banter is witty and at time hilarious and oh and let’s not forget the cameo appearance from Pixie the fainting goat.
This book ticked all my boxes, I laughed, I smiled, I swooned and at times I sighed and my heart broke as I got to know the real Adele. This is an entertaining hot read that I highly recommend.
Filthy and So Good! Adele just about broke my heart from everything she’s been through but Hayden ends up being exactly what she needs. His strength and support had me smiling and I felt pride for Adele for her strength in overcoming her past. I loved this and will be reading more of this author now. What a great addition to the Cocky Hero World.
5 Star Review Filthy Firefighter by Emma Louise
I was intrigued by the blurb, particularly when I realized that the heroine was Adele, Chance’s sister from Cocky Bastard, a book I absolutely adored and could not wait to read and review, particularly since Emma Louise is a new author to me. Although this is a quick and steamy read, Ms.Louise certainly managed to pack a lot in to the story.
Hayden Flynn is a hunky firefighter who is totally swoon worthy. When he rescues Adele, from her house fire, he is attracted and intrigued by her but unfortunately she is transported before he gets a chance to really talk to her or get her name.
When fate lends a helping hand Hayden and Adele meet again, becoming roommates. Set in Hermosa Beach, it was great to catch up with Chance, Aubrey and of course their goat Pixy. I loved seeing what they were all up to and the fact that Adele is his sister just added an extra layer for me.
I kept reading way into the night as I had to see what was going to happen next; I really didn’t want to put it down. That is how good this book is, with strong writing and characters that draw you in, you cannot help but become invested in the story that Ms.Louise weaves.
Filthy Firefighter invoked laughter, anger, sadness, pride and disbelief whilst reading. Adele has overcome so much and my heart went out to her as she struggled. The chemistry between Hayden and Adele was instantaneous and it continued throughout the book.
It was an entertaining steamy read that left me with a smile on my face.
When one plays with fire, they’re likely to get burned.
When Hayden and Adele come together? They create an inferno so powerful, you, as the reader, are sucked right into their love story, and find yourself yearning for more!
But with hot romance comes also a deeply rooted emotional story of two people with tortured pasts who find healing in the arms of each other. And Hayden proves to be the alpha we all dreamed of one day having, someone who protects what is his, and fights to prove that his love is worth everything that a woman could want and need.
This was a great addition to the Cocky Hero World, and I can’t wait to read more from this author!
Loved this Cocky Hero Series addition. Filthy Firefighter sure lived up to its title. The author gave us a couple that’s instant attraction turned into a slow rising hot romance. The book is very well written and the storyline flowed wonderfully, to the point I read it in one night as putting it down wasn’t even an option. If you read Cocky Bastard, you’ll probably remember Chance’s sister Adele. This is her story and with her history I just knew going in that this was going to be an emotional ride. The author didn’t disappoint me either.
Adele is rescued from a home fire by a sexy fireman named, Hayden. Needing a new place to live she eventually finds a perfect rental with someone needing a roommate. Don’t you know that someone turns out to be Hayden. From day one that she moves she either causes herself one catastrophe after another or she hides from the sexy man that fills her dreams. Little does she know he’s got the same dreams. But Adele’s past has a grip on her. She can’t let herself fall for Hayden and she knows this. But Hayden has other plans. Can he break through her walls?
Kudo Ms. Louise for giving us strong characters and a gutsy, flirty storyline. I highly recommend this wonderful standalone in the Cocky Hero Club series. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars.
Flirty Firefighter is an endearing and emotional story that is beautifuly written by Emma Louise. I was so excited when I found out that this book would featured Adele Bateman, Chance’s sister from Cocky Bastard. I always loved her character and was equally elated to see that her love interest would be Hayden from Emma’s Flawed series. A character whom I was dying to see get his own story!
I adored this Adele and Hayden’s love story. The connection between them was undeniable and their chemistry was off the charts. I absolutely loved their interactions with each other from the banter that they shared to the heartwarming moments between them.
I really enjoyed this story. It was overwhelmingly sweet and romantic, low on the angst but at the same time was also steamy and hot. Another great addition to the COCKY HERO World.
My heart was shredded with this story! Debra @janise’s Jivin’ Book Blog
This story is truly not fully what you would expect. My heart was truly shredded and then slowly mended but truly not till the end. It is filled with some much unexpected moments. It does have heat and a slow burn. It has so much heart and you will truly not come out untouched from it.
I love Hayden, he is the type of cocky hero you would want in your life. He is surrounded by a great group of people and is he himself a great guy.
Adele has a tragic and sad past that she deals with on a daily basis and a lot of why is how she feels about herself. She is also surrounded by good people.
In this story there really aren’t any bad people in the present. The past is another thing altogether. In real life your past can totally define your present if you let it. Adele doesn’t see she is strong and deserves happiness and love.
I cried for them both and things that happen in this story. So have your tissues ready. It really ended before I was ready for it too. That right there is for me the sign of an awesome book.
