From Wall Street Journal best-selling author Ilsa Madden-Mills comes a new full-length STANDALONE novel about HOT British alphas.
A smokin’ hot British player…
A jilted girl…
One night of mistaken identity…

She didn’t plan on attending a masquerade party. She sure didn’t plan on waking up next to the British bad boy who broke her heart three years ago–the devastatingly handsome and naked Dax Blay. Furthermore, she has no clue how they acquired matching tattoos.
Once back at Whitman together, they endeavor to pretend they never had their night of unbridled passion in London.
But that’s damn hard to do when you live in the same house…
One night. Two damaged hearts. The passion of a lifetime.

Holy HECK!!
I was so fucked up after reading “Filthy English”!!!!
Yes, I fricken cried! It was such a compelling story. I seriously didn’t know if Dax had a heart or if I was going to hate the man slut!!
But Shit Ilsa Madden-Mills did an amazing job. Showing us that even a Manwhore can change! I swear at some points I wanted to pull him in for a hug. Just bloody brilliant!!!! Those Romeo and Juliet parallel just added to the exquisiteness of the storyline! What a fantastic follow up to Dirty English! Grrrr, This book can’t be over NOoooooooo!!!!!
Another fantastic read from one of my favourite authors. Definitely recommend
This is the continuation of my other favorite brother. Maybe even my favorite because there’s so much hidden underneath Dax.
As all of Isla Madden Mills books, I devoured this one. I was so wickedly excited that I just couldn’t put it down. This is the story is the story of Remi Montague and my marshmallow Dax. What’s a girl to do when her fiancé decides to call off their wedding? She goes on her honeymoon, of course. It’s already paid for so why not go with a friend. What better way to forget an ex than to be with someone new, in a new city. Only problem, the guy you just met is none other than THEE guy who broke your heart. Talk about not having a break. Poor Remi. Unfortunately for her, she still has this unbelievable connection with Dax. Dax no longer believes in love. After losing his mom at an early age, a part of him shut down and never really recovered. He was content with just going through the motions of life. Parties, school, life, it was all one blur. He could never forget the three days he spent with Remi Freshman year. Remi shook his foundation yet he didn’t know it till later on. Seeing her again, wasn’t what he had expected. A part of him always had back because he never felt he was good enough. “He was beautiful and broken, not able to see what I could see.” These two had to fight for each other in ways other couples might not have. They had to believe enough in each other, had to fight for the other, had to strengthen each other. “Your wings already exist . . . all you have to do is soar.” How can you not fall in love with a book when the author writes lines like this “I want you to rip me apart then stitch me back together.” I mean talk about swooning. Isla just melts me, like Olaf. “There are no coincidences in life, only fate pushing you toward one another. He was my imperfect soul mate, and every tiny thread in the universe had stitched my heart to his, piecing us together, fashioning us into something that was, in my mind, absolutely perfect. The broken ticker in my chest knew it.” Hell, I want my own Dax now. This sexy British hunk that fights for her, ugh. There’s a lot of Remi that remind me of me. I don’t know if its how she handles her pain but I just relate to her so much. Isla said it beautifully “You aren’t exactly the type of girl who swallows her pride and waits for a guy to make up his mind. You’re strong and independent. Once they hurt you, you tend to distance yourself.” All Remi needed was to give Dax another chance. She needed to realize some people are worth getting hurt over. Some people deserves forgiveness. Love isn’t easy but it’s worth it. One of my favorite moments was this scene. “Never have I ever loved someone so much that I’d get down on my knees and beg her to forgive me for being too young to know that what we had was the most beautiful thing in the world, and all I had to do was let go of my fears and love her forever.” Filthy English is the perfect second chance romance with tons of sexiness. I mean who doesn’t love a British accent. It’s steamy, brilliant, heartfelt. It’s told in a dual POV and I give it 4.5 stars.
Frustrating. Not nearly as good as Dirty English.
Not a bad read
This book was too disturbing, too dark for me. I read 2 chapters and deleted it from ipad.
Filthy English is such a great book, but I had no idea what a roller coaster of emotions I would be put through! At times I could feel my chest tightening from anxiety and my heart was hurting. I wasn’t sure how or if Remi and Dax would ever be able to work through their issues and open up fully to each other. My heart really kind of broke for both of them, at different times in the book, they each have such a vulnerability about them that just tugged at my heartstrings. But they do their best to present a strong front and keep their vulnerabilities hidden from the world. Dax and Remi are so sweet, I just adored them.
One of the things I loved best about this book, other than the second chance romance, is that it took place just over the course of a few weeks- it wasn’t a long, drawn out angst fest. Dax and Remi had a history to work through but we weren’t subjected to months or years of drama and worry, and that made me happy. I still felt the heartache from what they each went through in the years preceding them reconnecting and it made their reunion all that more sweet. It was a tricky situation, as they navigated from being one-time lovers, to enemies, to friends, and then circled back around until they ultimately reached that final point of love, comfort, and trust.
There were times I was uncomfortable with where the story was going, I was worried Dax and Remi wouldn’t get the happy ending they deserved. And at times I was so frustrated, and even angry, at one or the other. But then I felt bad for being angry, because these two had a lot of *stuff* to deal with, before they could ultimately get to that hea. And while it wasn’t an easy journey, it did have some really fun and sweet moments along the way.
After reading Dirty English I had quite the crush on Declan, but Dax stole all his thunder! So caring, so sweet, and with a heart of pure gold, Dax epitomizes everything I love in a romantic hero. And Filthy English checked off so many of my boxes when it comes to a romance novel, I don’t think there’s a think I would change about it.
I’m a total sucker and absolutely loved second chances at love books. I’m not sure what it’s that draw me to it and this story surely doesn’t disappoint. I really enjoyed reading Declan story but Dax was on a whole different level. I wasn’t ready or expecting this vulnerable side to Dax. It literally broke my heart and the funny thing is we were on this emotional rollercoaster all due to miscommunication. Remi and Dax are such great characters I could feel their pain there frustration my heart ached and melted for them throughout the whole story but I also wanted to shake some sense into both of them on many occasions. Overall a excellent read if your looking for a story full of angst, hot sex, and also sweet romance I totally recommend that you read this book. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
I know these are standalone stories but I’ve read Dirty English first and I’m not gonna lie, Dax and Remi’s story is my top couple. Paths cross once again for these two and their history wasn’t the best of memories in the end. Remi herself has been through quite a bit and when she stumbles into Dax unexpectedly once again the second time round things are different between the two. I didn’t want to their story to end but had come full circle and a wonderful HEA for both of them. Great read and highly recommended. Again this is a standalone in a series so reading book one is not required but you will come across Declan from time to time. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
I just couldn’t get into it! At one point, I was 30-something percent into it, and I wound up remarking in my buddy read how much I really hated Remi! Dax hadn’t shown enough of himself to have me make a determination one way or the other at that point, but he never went much deeper than that point, making him very shallow for me. I felt that the focus of the book was sex only, and revenge against each other, but the main characters were very childish overall and they never actually sat down and discussed their issues with each other and the ex-boyfriend. This book did nothing but reinforce my stereotype that all New Adult sub-genre books suck! The redeeming quality of this book was the cameos from Declan and Elizabeth, as it was good to catch up with the characters I had enjoyed. I didn’t remember the first book sucking as bad as this one did, but I think I will avoid any future books in the series or by the author!
