A different take on shifters. Not sure I liked it. My favorite part of shifter books are the pack mentalities. How they thrive with a pack. This book is not that.
Lena loved her sister Sarah and she died. Her sister left her a letter telling her a truth Lena did not realize. Sarah was married to Shaw the violent Alpha of the pack. Shaw wants to mate Lena and she refuses him in front of the entire pack. Therefore, Shaw sentences her to the Shifter Junkyard. Marcus is a wolf shifter who is sentenced to the Junkyard and for some reason feels protective of Lena as does Kyle a bear shifter. They become friends. Carter is a bear shifter already in the junkyard who has a bear that lives to fight. Carter is complicated, but his bear knows he wants Lena. This is their story. It was a good story too. The junkyard prison versus a real prison is a good touch. I would recommend it.
Lena’s a cougar shifter whose main goal is to get away from the vicious alpha of her pride. When she’s exiled to the Junkyard she just knows that she has accomplished that goal. Carter is a grizzly shifter who loves to fight and believes that he belongs in the Junkyard but when he sees Lena, a lot of other feelings come to him. The two are drawn to each other and Carter knows that he has to protect Lena from the trouble that seems to have followed her and those who are out to hurt her.
I was given an ARC of this book and am providing my honest review. First in the Junkyard Shifters series, this book was a fabulous read. While there is some language that might offend some, it’s not bad and I’d say it would be an R rating if I had to give it one. I was drawn into this book from the beginning and loved getting to know Lena and Carter as they found their way to each other. I’m definitely eager for more of this series so I can get to know more about the other characters. I highly recommend this book.
I really like the premise of this book and thought the book had great potential. I don’t know where it fell flat for me because in theory everything sounded great and had me guessing at what could possibly happen next and I read the book pretty much in one sitting. Maybe I just didn’t connect to the main characters properly…I don’t know…but saying that, I am still looking forward to reading the next book in the series and finding the prequel book that kept getting mentioned in this book.
AWESOME!!! I liked it. The characters were well rounded with a good story line. Real page turner! I absolutely loved it. This book is amazing. I would suggest this to anyone looking for a great romance novel and love for reading!!!

Great plot ad characters. I volunteered to read an advance copy for an honest review.
I have not read a bad book from this author yet and this book is no exception! The great plot and character development kept me so engaged throughout the entire book that I had a very hard time putting this book down until the very last page was turned!

The story line was great, the character work was fantastic and the book had a good flow to it. This was a great way to start a series. I was hooked from beginning to end and can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. This is the first book by this author that I’ve read, but it won’t be the last.
