Lena is a shifter and she needs to escape her pack before something terrible happens. Lena’s sister is dead and after finding a note from her Lena believes her sisters husband Shaw the pack alpha killed her. Shaw calls Lena to a meeting were he advised her she will be his new mate. Lena refuses and finds herself in the junkyard. The place all uncontrollable shifters are placed for the rest of their days. Lena meets Carter a bear shifter at the junkyard and there is chemistry between them but Carter is cocky and too sure of himself. Now that Lena is in the junkyard this get dicey, the other shifter want her and the other new comers to fight but Leah and a few others refuse. Lena is in danger whether she knows it or not. Carter believes she is his fated mate and will do anything to keep her safe. There is a lot more going on in this story than I have included in my review. This is a must read if you love shifters.
The lead in for this book on Amazon says: “Do you have a misbehaving, violent, or otherwise problematic shapeshifter in your pack? Send them to the Junkyard, dumping ground and magical holding pen for unwanted shifters.” That line alone was enough to sell me on the book. I wasn’t disappointed, either. It was a cool concept! Lena is a cougar shifter who gets sent to the junkyard for refusing to mate with the a-hole who killed her sister, and Carter is a bear shifter who was sent to the junkyard because…well, I don’t know really. He’s grumpy, for sure. But once they meet, a fairly lively fated mates story follows. It’s a good, fast read. 4 stars all day long. (Not a ton of world building or intricate plotting, though. That’s a plus for me, but if you’re into that sort of thing, you’ll want to look elsewhere. This is a character driven story.)
If you like shifter stories you will like this book. Its a little different from the usual shifter books I’ve read. Very original and the characters were an interesting combination. There was mystery, witty characters, drama and suspense. A new, interesting story about shifters, I recommend this book.
Shifters sent to the junkyard are the worst of the worse, mostly. Lena meets Carter and together they defeat her nemesis, and discover the walls secret. Taming Carter’s beast is another thing. I enjoyed this book.
Different but feasible. I could see something like this. A place were shifters who are out of control , but I think that they need help not just to be left alone. In this world the Alphas have all the control it seems, sometimes that is not a good thing. Not all Alphas are good people. It’s a good story. I liked that people in the Junkyard did have an out. It would be Hell if there was no redemption. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This was good. I found the idea of the junkyard fascinating but I have to say if I was going to make something like that I would have made it able to judge guilt so situations like Lena’s didn’t happen. That’s just me though. The characters were interesting though I did think Carter was an idiot for not wanting to find a way out of the junkyard. I get rage but honestly, you can have happy ever after with mate or burn with rage slowly dying from fights with convicts…yeah hard choice there. Other than that I found the book interesting and enjoyed most of the characters.
I’ve read several books by this author and I always look forward to the next one. I love the idea of the magical junkyard prison. It makes containing criminal shifters a lot easier and safer for everyone. Conner isn’t really a bad guy, he just likes to fight and it’s been worse since his brother was killed, so here he is. Lena tried to run from becoming the mate of an abusive and evil alpha. She wouldn’t give in so he sends her to the Junkyard. Being the only woman it’s going to be dicey for Lena, but Conner wants to stay close. They even start somewhat of a gathering with some of the other residents. There are some heart wrenching moments and some heartfelt moments. Share the suspense, excitement and romance with the Junkyard occupants. I requested an advanced reader copy and am under no obligation to leave this review.
FILTHY BEAST is the first book in the Junkyard Shifters series. Though each book will focus on one couple, I recommend reading the whole series and in the order of release.
There are no flowers and chocolates in this romance. Not when their “meet cute” is in a junkyard that is the prison for incorrigible shifters. I love that the men are rough, hard, masculine, alpha to the nth degree and the two women present are strong but soft.
I loved this story. It was different in so many ways. Yet, there was the steam, fated mates, and plenty of hints of who may feature in future stories that I hope to find in a shifter story.
I wish I had read Caitlyn and Grant’s story. They are the shifters who live just outside of the Junkyard and help Carter and Lena. In my research for this review, I found out that there was a prequel, but it is not available on Amazon. On the other hand, I am standing ready to accept each book as it releases, and I will serve my time in the junkyard awaiting my perfect mate to arrive.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via Booksprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

After reading “The Rose King,” I was ready for more from Liza.
This book is a great: shifters, a strong woman who can hold her own, no damsel waiting for rescue here.
Can’t wait for more in this series. Fans of this genre or author will not be disappointed. Enjoy!
Crossing the line
Such a shocking turn of events, and I loved every minute of it. This book is fast paced and so exciting. The author really took the time to set the stage and build the characters until I found myself lost in the story. I enjoyed all of the underlying issues going on with the characters and I hope we get to see more of them find their HEAs. I can’t wait to read all about what happens next in the junkyard.
This is a fun paranormal romance! I liked it! It is sweet and steamy, and unique. Full of drama and suspense..

Loved this heartfelt shifter tale
This story drew me in from the beginning encompassing so many emotions, loss of a loved one, fear of bullies, regrets, and of course falling in love. Plus the inherent shifter qualities add an extra dimension to the characters. Lena is a strong independent woman, plus she has shifter strength, but she is also caring and protective. Carter seems to want nothing but to fight 24/7. The dynamics of the junkyard change when the new inmates including the only woman, Lena, arrive. A fast paced read, it was over before I was ready but the HEA was so satisfying.
What a unique, fresh story line. Carter has some growing up to do, Lena is finding her own way. This is a totally different storyline that I haven’t read before and love the concept. Twists, turns, surprises, heat, heart and characters with depth. Put that all together made for a book I couldn’t put down . I received a free copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a review
Book 1 picks up where the prequel finishes. This time the focus is on new characters but the storyline is still engaging and page turning. Recommended
Fighting Attraction
Interesting spin on shifters and how they deal with their “problems”. I found it curious that even shifters didn’t know a lot about the Junkyard. I read reviews saying there was a lot of fighting, but I would have expected more in the situation that they found themselves in, even if it wasn’t very detailed. I also felt like the heroine should have been able to handle herself a little better in a fight. She jumps in to several only to have to be “rescued”. Both characters are deluding themselves about something in the beginning, and that colors their interactions together. The story was well paced, and although I was frustrated more than once with both characters. Both characters grow throughout the story, and I’m interested to read the next book.
Can I have some brain wash, please.
Seriously, something to get this book out of my brain, please. It’s typical for Shifter erotica but it shouldn’t be. It takes all the fated mate stuff and adds easy sex to it. If your book doesn’t have conflict and they don’t get to know each other then it’s not much of a book. There is the sex. Which makes wonder how are people having this much bad sex. Honey, if this is your idea of good–you poor thing. They are animals if there isn’t biting, scratching, growling, and purring your missing some prime opportunities. And that’s just the vanilla. Add dominance play from a culture that knows what it is to make someone submit, talk about purring. And puddin’ if you can’t follow what I’m putting down please find Lora Leigh.
Nice easy read
Not what i wanted to read
The ‘junkyard’ was a different setting and it provided an opportunity for a variation in the more usual themes of ‘shifter’ stories. I found the book an easy read but I felt that the premise of imprisonment without a time limit or review was odd. The characters, especially the villain, seemed to lack any motivation.
Lots of shifter v shifter fighting. Lots of steamy sex scenes, and, of course, a happy ever after.
New twist to paranormal mates
