**Synopsis ** Growing up, my parents were the embodiment of love. The perfect example of soul mates. And with that ideal I couldn’t wait to find my true love. The day I met her my entire world shifted on its axis and I knew she was the one. The problem is, how do you convince someone they are your soulmate when they don’t even believe in love? There was a time I believed that love truly conquered … that love truly conquered all, but now I’m losing Faith.

My mom once said, “Love isn’t concrete. It’s an emotion and emotions are abstract. They change. You don’t make decisions based on something abstract because if you do, you are setting yourself up for failure.”
I didn’t understand her words at the time. I was young and in love and if you had asked me to define what I was feeling it would have consisted of words such as affection, warmth, happiness, butterflies, happily ever after.
Now after experiencing heartbreak firsthand my definition of love is a bit different. It consists of words like messy, heartbreak, waste of time, unrealistic, fake.
Until I met him. He reminded me of all the words love felt like before my heart was broken. He wanted to show me the beauty in the abstract but all I could see was the concrete.
This is a full length standalone novel in the Fighting series. It can be read without reading book 1: Fighting For a Second Chance but it is recommended to read in order.

Holy hell, Nikki Ash has done it again. But this time, she has made me fall even more in love than I thought possible. I thought I loved Copper, but Bentley takes it to a whole new level.
This one goes back every now and then, to things that were in Fighting for a Second Chance and times within that story line. Which is important because that’s when Kayla and Bentley first started their crazy back and forth.
Kayla was raised in a house were love isn’t a thing. Her parents marriage is like every other thing in their lives, a business agreement. Both divorce lawyers, they believe love is a useless emotion that only leads to one thing, a broken heart. Kayla finds out at a young age, that’s all too true. With having had her heart broken, she turns her back on love and happily ever after. Until a certain fighter waltz in to her life and stirs her icy heart. Sparks fly, chemistry burns bright, but when things get too complicated, she runs. Running is what Kayla is good at. She runs because was scared. But that fear causes her to over look what is right in front of her, Bentley.
Bentley has put his heart out there countless times. All he is waiting for, is for Kayla to do the same. He knows she doesn’t believe in love, but can never figure out why. When he finally gets the whole story and sees things through her eyes, he understands, but that doesn’t mean he likes it. Because of her past, and her parents crazy outlook on life, not only is Kayla’s heart messed up, but so is her head. And that confuses the hell out of Bentley. He grew up in a home where love was over flowing and endless. Love comes easy to him and it’s not something he takes lightly. When Kayla runs, he tries to move on the best way he can. But when he finally sees Kayla after a few months though, things change. DRASTICALLY!!
Bentley just melted my heart. I have swooned and fell in love with countless book boyfriends, but he is just IT!! His love, his patience, his understand, everything is just so perfect. He is everything an amazing woman would want and need. Good thing he’s a fighter, because with Kayla he needs all the training he’s ever had to go face to face in a ring for her heart. It’s definitely not easy, and more than once he gives up, but he realizes he needs her so much more than he could have ever thought.
I hated Kayla’s patents from the get go. I could never understand how, and why a mother would be like that to her children. Just plain awful. I was so glad that Kayla had amazing friends who could be her family, because she definitely needed it. Her struggles to understand life, the possibility of love, and finding happiness was a hard and messy one. She hurt a few people along the way, unintentionally, but hurt them none the less. She knows she is broken, and things Bentley is better off finding someone else. Even while she thinks she incapable of love, she shows it all the time to the ones who mean the most to her. She is selfless and does anything for those people.
We get more of Caleb in this story also, and I can’t wait to read his book. I feel like it’s gonna be an intense one.
I loved seeing more of Liz and Copper. I love catching up and seeing how their lives and love are going.
In Fighting With Faith two broken people find each other but what do you do when your battle is with programmed behavior. This story is hardest because it deals with a harsh and unforgiving childhood where love doesn’t live and love is also seen as a weakness. This is a story that is so emotional because the two of them have a hard way to go and loads of work for their hea.
I love how in this case it was the man trying to convince the woman about love. This author has these two battling it out for years trying to convince her that she was his. It is an interesting love/hate/love relationship all he has to do is get her to stop running.
Kayla was raised by robotic parents that didn’t believe in love or emotions. When Kayla had her heart broken at 15 she started following in her parents footsteps. So when she meets Bentley she is drawn to him but won’t give him her heart. Bentley immediately knows that Kayla is The One but if she won’t commit then he won’t give into their desires . . . well except that one time at the club that had Kayla running away to the other side of the country with a bun in the oven.
I loved Bentley – he is absolute perfection. I loved even how she continued to break his heart he stepped up, fought for his baby and fought for their relationship. I want a Bentley of my own. Kayla and her issues were beyond obnoxious and I wanted to smack her so she could wake up and see what was right in front of her. While Kayla annoyed me I still liked her and thought her and Bentley were a good match. This was a sweet and super steamy second chance romance that I adored. The ending had a cliffy that had my heart racing and immediately downloading the next book. I am quickly becoming obsessed with this world.
5 “Give Me a Chance” Stars
After reading the first novel in the Fighting Series, I was really intrigued about Kayla and Bentley’s puzzling dynamic where lurks a raging attraction. It was so easy to feel their intense chemistry as supporting characters that Fighting with Faith guaranteed another wonderful read. Nikki Ash certainly achieved to steal my heart once again with this incredible couple and swoon worthy romance!
She fashioned such a sweet and caring hero in Bentley Cruz. That man is so in love with Kayla it’s so beautiful, but also heartbreaking. As much as he knows she’s the one from the moment they meet, the girl has a deep-rooted fear of commitment, making their romance hectic with all the push and pull! One thing is clear though, she’s in total denial of her true feelings for Bentley that are so apparent. Every scene shared between those two is truly beautiful, passionate and poignant.
Kayla has a very sassy personality and brings humor to this story. I enjoyed her repartees that had me cracking up so often. Under it all though, she’s hiding a profound fear of love and it brought me to tears to see her struggle with opening her heart to the man she truly love.
Kayla’s surprise pregnancy and subsequent arrival of her baby is really the key to acknowledge her feelings. How can she resist Bentley and his appeal as a daddy! He’s just irresistible and so caring… awww!
Fighting with Faith was another addictive read that brought me all the feels! It also showed us a little bit of Caleb and Hayley, the couple features in the next novel! The mystery around them has me genuinely thrilled for Fighting for your Touch!
Love isn’t real. It’s an emotional reaction. It’s really just lust on steroids when you no longer feel the lust it’s over. Hence why 70% of marriages end in divorce.
How’s that for a pep talk to your teenage daughter!?! Not the one you got, gave, or have ever heard- lucky you! This brand of crazy is all Kayla has ever heard and even though she’s seen proof otherwise, she believes it.
Well except for that one guy who made her doubt it. But he is long gone…until he isn’t any more.
One night at a UFC fight changed her best friends life and it looks like Kayla isn’t getting away unscathed either. Reconnecting with THE Man from her past who made her question everything is a dangerous thing but to whom?
Bentley has been thinking of her for years. Never thought he’d ever get to see her again. But this time he won’t let her slip away.
I had fun catching up with the crew. As the sequel to Fighting for a Second Chance, reading it gives you familiarity with the characters and insight/ the history of what went down.
I can’t wait to see what the rest of the crew get into. I’m actually very excited for the next one. I liked this book even more than the last and with my favorite character as the star in the next…I think I’ll be saying it again soon.
reviewed for the Sweet Spot Sisterhood
Fighting With Faith is the second book in the series and it’s Bentley and Kayla. I really liked it. I loved Bentley. He was sexy, swoony and sweet! Kayla, she frustrated me alot but I did love her. Bentley and Kayla had amazing chemistry. Looking forward to reading the next book!
Ugh!!! I saw a comment in Nikki’s group and she told someone that Kayla will loss you off. She was correct!!!
Kayla definitely has issues with love due to her parents, especially her mom. I wanted to strangle her and tell her to love him!
Bentley is amazing. He tries to have enough love for both of them but is it enough?
They have a situation that will unite them and it was an interesting journey. Even with Kayla and the need to tell at her 🙂
I am really enjoying this series though!
Nikki Ash was so kind to let me read this in exchange for an honest review. I will just say up front, that I was not paid for this AND I don’t know Nikki personally (will probably end up as a stalking fangirl though, if she keeps this up)…
Five stars for “Fighting with faith” (Fighting series book two)…
This is Nikki Ash’s second book to be published and after reading book one and now two I think I found a new automatic 1-click author.
Three pages in I was trapped and couldn’t put the book down. Eventually had to, when my kindle hit me in the face at four o’clock this morning.
The characters are compelling and the story a great mix of emotions. Not enough to call it a rom com or an angsty book, but just the right amount of everything. It ticks all my boxes.
If you haven’t read “Fighting for a second chance” yet, now is the time to do it, since “Fighting with faith” will be out on the 22nd of February and it’s JUST. THAT. GOOD!!!
Omg!! I am in love with Bentley!! Bentley and Kayla definitely don’t take the easy road to love, but eventually Bentley breaks Kayla down and what a moment!! Is there a real Bentley out there somewhere because I need him. Watching him overcome all Kayla’s misconceptions about love is so special and also heartbreaking that she doesn’t feel like she needs love. Another great story from Nikki Ash, and I am going back in for more!
I absolutely love this serious it’s just so amazing.
Kayla is so strong independent and just bullheaded, but she knows what she wants even if she doesn’t quite know all the time. She’s been hurt and just has the worst set of remodels for parents to show her how non-logical love is..
And Bentley is like thee most perfect guy ever and she just doesn’t see/get it/trust it. But he doesn’t give up in here even when it seems like he is going too.
This story is definitely a must read even though I stink at writing these reviews. This book was just so amazing it pulls you in gets your emotions all over the place. Has you crying and wondering HOW/WHY?!
I just LOVED it!
What a great follow-up novel
I was so excited to read this book, I couldn’t wait to see how their story played out and it was a great!now I have to know what happens with Caleb! Definitely an author you should check out!
I read fighting for a second chance first and fell in love with Liz, Cooper, Bentley and Kayla. This is Kayla and Bentley’s story. Kayla had her heart crushed by someone from her past, so she then closed her heart off to anyone. Bentley on the other had is positive that Kayla is meant to be his forever. Bentley grew up with parents who loved and cared for him , where Kayla’s parent treated everything like a business agreement. I could have choked Kayla’s mom , no one should be so cold to there children. It warmed my heart up to finally see Bentley slowly but surely break down Kayla’s walls she had built up. I look foward to reading updates on Kayla and Bentley in the next book.
4.5 FIGHTING STARS
When I read Fighting for a Second Chance, I knew the next book would be Kayla and Bentley, and I was ecstatic! I also knew Kayla was going to give Bentley hell, but he was just the man to break through her walls. Boy was I ever right! I fell hard for Bentley Cruz! He is the perfect guy that every girl wishes they could find. I’m talking, just an amzing man! He loves fiercely, and doesn’t make any qualms about it! And Kayla, she is a tough as nails, woman, with a soft side she only reveals to those she deems worthy. Their journey to finally having their HEA was not an easy one, Kayla was extremely skittish of anything that resembled a relationship, but our boy, Bentley, he stood tough! Bentley’s faith in love, and the universe, had other plans for Kayla. There is just no way to fight fate.
loved reading about Kayla and Bentley and their side!!! Kayla doesn’t believe in love and Bentley is trying to prove that that love exists!!! These two go thru heck and back but you have to read all about it!! Love it!!!
