One night is never enough… toe.
ER nurse Daniela England has lost so much that she’s vowed never to need anyone again. Fight club helps her beat back her survivor’s guilt, but it means dealing with Riddick. The hot-but-infuriating firefighter is everything she wants to avoid, which is why their one-night stand was a mistake. Now she needs to keep her distance so it doesn’t happen again.
But when Dani witnesses Sean’s motorcycle accident, she steps up to help him recover. One on one, they get beneath all the snark and find a connection neither expected. As Sean heals, the sparks between them burst into red-hot passion—and ignite old wounds. Now there are fires all around—and they have to decide which they’ll fight and which they’ll let consume them.

Oh this book!
Fighting The Fire is simply a decadent, delicious feast for readers to enjoy!
All the pushing, pulling, angst and worry. The hope and hurt, and the discovery of the possibility of a future. Omg! This book has it all!
Laura Kaye knows how to write sexy, yummy hero’s. I think Sean has taken the number one spot on my list of heartthrobs. And Dani, I know her heartbreak. I understood everything she was thinking and feeling. I wanted to curl up next to her on that couch and just hold her.
Laura Kaye shows off her story telling talent in the best way with this book. The Warrior Fight Club series has held a special place in my heart from the very first installment. I don’t think there’s anything better than beautifully broken hero’s and strong women who “stand by their men”.
Even with everything this author went through to get this book written, I think it’s the best one of the series.
I know life gets hard sometimes Laura, but please don’t ever stop sharing your talent with the world!
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this amazing book.
Sean is a fireman. Daniela is a nurse. They both served, and are members of WFC. They had a thing, and now they are flirting around each other. Daniela is a widow, her husband died in action.
Sean is leaving from dinner on his motorcycle, when he is hit by a truck running a red light. Dani goes into nurse mode at the scene. Sean has an eye issue, and hurt ribs. Dani stays with him, and lets WFC know what is going on so someone can be around to help him. Sean quotes the movie Deadpool a lot, and he loves superheroes, so they have a movie marathon. Sean even makes a spreadsheet of the Marvel movies in order, but he won’t tell Dani exactly how many there are. Dani gets sick, and Sean realizes he loves her and wants to take care of her.
She gets better and goes home. This is the 6th anniversary of her husband’s death. She hasn’t read his ‘in case something happens’ letter. Sean accidentally rips it and she thinks he read it. She gets upset, and he leaves. She then reads the letter and realizes Anthony wants her to find love again. She realizes it’s with Sean. He doesn’t answer her texts or calls. They meet up at Noah and Kristina’s house for a July 4th party, talk, say 3 words, and make love in the back of her car.
Sean is matched as a Big Brother, and spend time with his friend in the last chapter. He also is all better from his accident, and goes back to firefighting. No epilogue but 3 months later they are moving in together.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I love the camaraderie between all of the members of the Warrior Fight Club. They go out to dinner every Saturday night and have forged friendships that will last forever. They listen to each other, offer advice and never judge when someone is having a bad day. This bond is the reason Daniela didn’t hesitate to help Sean after his accident.
Sean is still grieving the men he lost under his command when he was in the Army. Daniela is grieving the death of her beloved husband and even after six years, she still doesn’t feel she will find love again. Sean and Daniela are friends and veterans who live to help others and are used to being alone. They deserve to find their soulmates — someone they can lean on when times are bad and the pain of their nightmares is too vivid. They respect each other, like to kid around and neither of them has forgotten the one night they let their desires take over. Their attraction for each other is still very strong and while Daniela was nursing Sean back to health, she found it hard to keep her feelings for him a secret anymore. Sean would do anything to have Daniela with him all the time because she made him laugh, she listened to him and she made his life complete.
Will their time spent together rekindle old feelings and bring Sean and Daniela closer to one another or will Daniela retreat into herself and allow her past to cloud her future?
This book was totally worth the wait! Dani and Sean’s story was perfection. The depth to these characters was what really shined through. I loved how we got to really know these characters as individuals and together. I loved this book so much. Totally recommend this book and series to everyone.
Laura Kaye NEVER disappoints. I loved Dani and Sean’s story. There was always so much burning beneath the surface between them. I loved how at different times they were both there to take care of each other and were able to learn more about the other and create a deeper connection. I cried when she heard her Granny’s voice. I swear I can hear mine talk to me too. And when she read the Last letter…tissues please. But, reading that letter helped to finalize her feelings and lead her heart back to love. These stories (The Warrior Fight Club) are amazing. You see how strong emotionally and physically these characters are. They go through SO SO much and are still there to protect and defend. Thank you for your stories Laura.
I enjoyed Fighting the Fire! It took me a little bit to get back into this world, but luckily not too long. I’ve always enjoyed these characters and the close bonds they have formed with one another. I love Dani and Sean’s relationship with their mixture of arguing, joking, and flirting. All of that banter was quite entertaining! They’re a really cute couple and are so fitting for each other. They make each other better people and help the other overcome obstacles from their past. Neither has had an easy life and that was sad to read about, but they are both very strong individuals with big hearts. I am a big Marvel fan and I just so happen to be rewatching the movies in chronological order, so I laughed when I read that they were doing the same thing! All of the Deadpool references were very humorous as well! Fighting the Fire was a great conclusion to the series and was worth the wait! *I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*
You need to read Fighting the Fire. You need to devour Fighting the Fire. You need to dissect the words of Fighting the Fire. It may be fiction but so much of it is something people can identify with. Empathize with and learn from.
I don’t often get to say I can totally identify with a character. In some ways I am that character.
The author got Dani’s grief, a grief that many have gone through, are going through. I felt the struggles. I understood the struggles. I rejoiced in her happiness. Dani deserved happiness.
Dani’s happiness revolves around acceptance. It is time to say goodbye to her past. It is time to open her heart to another. Lucky for her Sean is there waiting. She just needs to open her eyes and her heart. Get ready for some super swoony moments. In so many ways their actions are much better than words.
I love the dynamics within the WFC. The guys all have different struggles. They still get each other. They need each other. They have their demons that they struggle to conquer. They support each other.
What I like most about the books is how the author reminds me that I have not lived the lives and struggles of military personnel. I need to respect them. I need to empathize with them. I need to appreciate them and support them. I am grateful for every book in the Warrior Fight Club.
The heat coming off these two is unbelievable. You get a glimpse of these two in the first 2 books but Sean better get his firefighting buddies to get the hose. I love how they are constantly arguing with each other.
Another great read by Laura!
Now that’s how you start a series! Kaye is at her absolute best.
