“Katy, your triplets have completely won my heart!” –Mia Sheridan, New York Times bestselling authorFrom the New York Times bestselling author of The Blueberry Lane series comes a new series of romances featuring the Haven triplets and their mischievous cousin!Rory Haven and Brittany Manion knew one another as children……but it’s been a long time since their childhood summers at Summerhaven.… summers at Summerhaven.
The Havens weren’t the children who attended exclusive Summerhaven Camp in Center Sandwich, New Hampshire. They were the children of the owners, expected to “pull their weight” and absolutely forbidden to fraternize with the paying guests. But that didn’t keep Rory from having a quiet, unrequited crush on gorgeous, popular, insanely-rich, Brittany Manion for three tortuous summers.
When all-grown-up, recently-engaged Brittany books the off-season summer camp for her upcoming spring wedding, she immediately recognizes Rory as the scorching-hot boy who wouldn’t give her the time of day. Meanwhile, Rory, who senses that Brittany’s nuptials are less about Mr. Right and more about Mr. Right Now, launches the fight of his life to win the heart of the girl he’s always wanted.

I liked this book. I like the idea of second chance romance and of childhood crushes coming back to become true love stories. I also liked that there was a history of bad relationships that made the characters weak and fallible in some areas yet stronger due to the battles they have struggled through.
This was a good book of childhood crushes and second chance romance.
Fighting Irish is the first book in The Summerhaven Trio series by Katy Regnery. This was a sweet, enjoyable, slow burn second chance romance that I didn’t want to end.
Brittney Manion is getting married and wants her wedding where she spent four of her best summers at, Summerhaven Camp. When she arrives to meet with Mr. Haven, she gets a surprise; Mr. Haven is actually Rory Haven the boy she had a crush on all four years at summer camp. Rory had a crush on Brittany as well but never could say anything because of his parents “No Fraternize Rule”. Will he fight for her or let her marry someone else?
I loved everything about this book –the characters, sweet love story, a little family drama, and the camp/retreat itself. If the other two books are anything like this one, I can’t wait.
ARC for honest review with no compensation
Fighting Irish is book 1 in the Summerhaven Trio series and as always any book by Katy Regnery is well written and this book takes you on a journey about the Haven Triplets (each will have their own story) with this book about Rory and Brittany and their second chance at love. They met as children but life took them both on journeys away from each other until years later when they meet again except Brittany is planning her wedding to someone else but maybe fate has thrown them together to show Brittany that maybe she shouldn’t be getting married…unless it’s to Rory…
Can Rory show her that he is her forever love or will she think that he’s out to use her like all the men from her past??
Favorite Quotes:
I’m not a fighter by nature. Never was, never will be. That’s probably why I never fell in love. Love is the biggest battle there is.
Rory, you’re a dumbass if you think all fights require fists and fury. Some fights are quiet, but the battle’s still being waged.
My Review:
Oh, what fun! Katy Regnery has started a new series of stand-alone books featuring triplets of Irish descent, and what a diverse set of triplets they are, although close and patiently supportive of each other. I enjoyed this light and sweet story of secret childhood crushes reconnecting ten years later as adults. The premise was interesting, the characters were appealing and likable, and the writing was easy to follow and observant and insightful with a minimum of angst and conflict, and sprinkled with playful banter and a bit of steam. It was a delightful way to spend a rainy afternoon.
I loved Rory. He is amazing and sweet and when he talks in Gaelic all the heavens cry. Lol. He had a crush on Britt as kids but never made a move because of his mother’s rules. Britt had a crush but didn’t think he gave her the time of day. Fast forward years and she is at the camp to book a spot for her wedding. (Her second) to a dr who doesn’t seem all that interested in it. But they rekindle things and when her life takes an unexpected turn. She retreats to summer haven to heal. Love the bond between the triplets: Ian, Tierney, and Rory. Loved how they welcomed Britt into the fold. Cute story. Didn’t like how quick she as to react about his past when he has never given any indications on cheating. I get she has trust issues but come on. Rory is not like that.
Big fan of the author, She never disappoints
I have become a fan of this author!
A full component of family trials, wrong expectations and unexpected happy endings.
Enjoyed it, looking forward to reading the rest
The characters in this book were so compelling that I read the whole series straight through. The family dynamic between the triplets was good–the kind of family you want for yourself–but not too-perfect either. The writing was smooth and easy to stay up late turning pages. Take my word for it and just read the whole set!
Loved it
