“Once I started this book I couldn’t put it down. Jesse and Zoe’s story is beautifully written, thank you Gianna Gabriela. It’s a must read.”Jesse Falcon has dedicated his life to one cause: to fight against that which has taken so much from him. He’s learned the hard way that if you want something to be done, you have to do it yourself. No more waiting for others to make a difference. With … difference.
With football, a pre-med program and a coveted internship, he has no time for anything or anyone else. The truth is, he doesn’t think his barely healed heart can take it.
Despite his determination to remain distant, he soon finds a girl who will not only fracture that resolve but shatter it completely.
Zoe Evans is an average college student.
She has a group of friends, and enough gossip lingers in the halls to make her days interesting.
Her whole world changes in a heartbeat though – one blackout, and a week-long fever forces her into a battle she isn’t prepared to fight.
The odds are stacked against her.
Will she have the strength to prevail?

Holy Heart Strings. From the beginning this book captured and pulled on my heart in such a gripping way. Zoe and her fight against cancer felt so real to me with all the ups and downs that I would perceive a patient would be going through. Jesse is fighting his own demons he doesn’t even realize he is possessed by.
I found myself cheering so hard for this couple and hoping they can make it through.
God, where do I even start with how this book made me feel? Hopeful. Blessed. Heartbroken, then gently put back together. This last month I’ve been eyeballs deep in insta-love, that coming back to something where it has to be fought for reminds me of how much I love the drawn out process of finally realizing it.
Jesse and Zoe… again… WHERE TO START?! Both fighters, however instead of fighting for what they want, they are fighting for others… till it all changes. As they work, or more like grow, towards an end, they realize that they need to be fighting for each other and themselves. Fight to live, fight to love, fight to realize that they deserve each other. Even with all the trials and tribulations, the peace they find along the way makes me beyond happy.
Each time I read a Gianna Gabriela book, I’m still blown away with how well she tells a story. Book #3, y’all… like she has three books to her name. *mind blown* Each story, each character, each relevant topic talked about, you can feel how deeply she is invested and cares, another reason why I can’t get enough.
Firstly have a few tissues at the ready, this book will most definitely hit your emotions in all the right ways.
Jesse Falcon is determined to be a doctor, and as we learn his reasons, it made my heart hurt so bad for him yet i loved his determination and devotion to succeed.
During a period of interning at the local hospital he meet’s Zoe, a patient dealing with the possibility of a terminal illness. (I don’t want to give too much away)
This young couple stole my heart and emotions, both on such difficult journeys and yet through it all they found each other. Both are struggling with life, yet both are inspirations, unknowningly to others and to each other. It’s inevitable they become friends, but what happens when Love invades? How and will they find that path to their Happy Place?
This author, for me, wrote this beautifully, i found myself really feeling involved both mentally and emotionally with what both Jesse and Zoe were feelings and experiencing as if they were friends or family. So much so that I desperately wanted and needed this book to end in the right way…… super read !!!!
First Gianna has outdone herself and she has brought it to the table! I am simply in awe of this story and my heart broke and GG put it back together again. This is one of those stories that will stay with you long after you have read it. There is everything in story that grips you by the heart and leaves you breathless.
Jesse is on the football team and he is a pre-med student. He is living his life by studying and playing hard. He does an internship at the local hospital where he meets Zoe. They soon become friends and spend time together. But Jesse and Zoe feel something for one another but they both have pasts that haunt them and they both don’t want to get hurt again.
Can Zoe and Jesse move on from the past to move towards the future? Or will they remain friends so no one gets hurt? GG has brought her A game and I was rooting for Jesse and Zoe. This is a must must read for all romance readers!
What an amazing YA story this was. A solid 5 star heartfelt story.
Zoe is battling the fight of her life. In the middle of all that she meets Jesse who becomes her light in the dark. Jesse is fighting a cause that took from him and has not fully recovered yet. He needs to get over his past in order to move on.
This is a sweet heartfelt story that drew me in and kept me there until the very end. An addicting and captivating story that was beautifully written. A great storyline that flowed well. I loved these amazingly created characters that made me feel so many emotions. Bottomline is this is a must read.
Standalone told in a dual POV whit an HEA. I highly recommend this story.
Jesse and Zoe and their story are instantly engaging and relatable. There’s some really heavy circumstances going on and their romance is a journey for them separately and together and just unavoidably, unapologetically emotional. The friends to lovers situation does hover a bit closer to friends (I’d have liked more couple time) but their bond is a strong one and their love survives some really serious adult situations despite their college ages.
You can’t help but root for these characters, alone and together. Waiting to see what happens keep the pages turning and the tension going!
Second in a series, but definitely able to standalone. Add this to your list!
Wow. What an amazing book. This book will suck you and you wont want to put it down. The writing is great. Well written book. Lots of feelings. Yes I cried. Awesome Job GG.
