This book had me on edge from page 1. Aurora is questioning her decision to keep her parents’ motel, when in walks the sexy and mysterious Max. He’s not there to vacation, but he and Aurora can’t seem to stay away from each other. I loved their amazing chemistry, and though this was a fairly quick read, the development of the plot kept up with the feelings blossoming between Max and Aurora. I loved the air of mystery as well as the steamy scenes. Their connection was intriguing and oh so hot!
Going into this book I didn’t know if it would be for me. By page 3 I was hooked and couldn’t put it down! This story makes you feel. It honestly played like a movie in my head. The character development was great and the plot itself was very interesting. And I always love a HEA!
Fighting for This: The Last Resort Motel is a great read. Aurora left school to take care of the motel that she inherited when her parents died. It was in bad shape but she was doing the best she could.
Max Lawson, a surfer from CA. inherited a piece of land which included a mine from his family and he decided to check it out. This land was close to the motel so he decided to stay there.
Read the book to find out what happens to Aurora and Max.
This book is filled with mystery, intrigue, and romance. It is a must read!!
What a great steamy and edge of your seat book. Loved Auroras lack of filter and how flustered Max made her. Definitely a great start to a very different view on what goes on behind the doors of the far from conventional motel. Would love to meet a Max at the ice machine
Another amazing book by Gwyn. Max and Aurora meet when Max stays at Aurora’s motel while he is their inspecting his grandfather’s land. Both are checking out each other and the chemistry is instant and undeniable. He’s only there for a week what harm is there to have a little fun? Neither one is expecting anything from the other, but when feelings begin to develop and it’s time for Max to leave, will he be able to walk away from Aurora or will he stay? I highly recommend this book and you have to grab it to find out how their story ends.
Fighting For This is an insta love novella about two people destined to be together. I loved the way the author brought Max and Aurora together. They were instantly attracted to each other and had great chemistry. The writing is great and the story is filled with action, mystery, suspense, steam and a great love story.
The great character and storyline development grabbed my attention from the very beginning and the interaction between Aurora and Max kept me totally engaged throughout the entire book!
If you’re looking for an easy to follow, hot, steamy, sexy, smooth flowing read that captures your attention from the start. Congratulations my friends you’ve found it. The characters and scenes are realistic and believable. Twists and turns and unpredictable surprises that kept my eyes on the pages and on the edge of my seat. I followed the characters fascinated as their personalities transformed and blended. Vivid detailed descriptions were so life like and on point. The storyline was solided and well defined. Cold showers may be in order when your finished. Gwyn McNamee did a remarkable job bringing this story together beautifully.
I voluntarily submitted an ARC review for this book.
Let’s stand up and give a hand to Gwyn McNamee. I loved every second of this little ditty. While this book is a novella, it doesn’t lack any backstory. I loved getting to know more about Aurora and Max. These two have a chemistry that is off the charts on so many levels. While reading this book I felt like I had known these two my whole life. Aurora is now the proud owner of a run-down hotel. Max has inherited that holds a mine. Needing a place to stay, Max looks to Aurora for help.
I can’t begin to tell you how much I loved this book. Gwyn does a great job pulling you in. She makes you fall in love with all her characters, no matter how long her books are. While this is a novella, that doesn’t mean it packs any less of a punch. This book is full of insta-love, suspense, hot-steamy times, and mystery. I loved this story for all it was worth. I feel like Gwyn is the queen of steamy scenes. This little book is just that.
Please check out this amazing novella.
There is just something very special about Aurora and Max. Their story is compelling and perfect to snuggle up with on a dreary Sunday afternoon when you need a delightful pick-me-up read.
The story is very much set in the present, so whilst I knew who they were as people now (and what wonderful characters they are), I had very little idea of what had shaped their lives. However it’s a novella, so I can’t expect that type of depth when there is also a ‘suspense’ sub-plot.
I’m not normally a fan of insta-love, and technically this isn’t that, since the ‘L’ word isn’t bandied about. In fact Max is very clear on them focusing on the here and now, rather than the long term. But they do make some life altering plans and their mutual connection, passion and attraction was so incredibly well portrayed that I would have been fine HAD they declared they undying love for one another.
So in summary this is a great read, sexy, fun and with a hint of danger.
Aurora inherited her parents run down motel. It is need of repairs. She has no guests or occasional ones. In rolls Max, he comes to see about a Mine he inherited. As they slowly learn each other, they run into trouble at the Mine one day. We have guns and explosions and a shootout! A cute love story. Short and wanted more..
Holy crap! Just a short ways into this story and we encounter mutual, but in separate rooms, masturbation of the orgasmic kind. Solo sex at its best.
And further on into the story it just gets better! Not only is there steamy sex, there is something happening at the mine. Aurora and Max hit it off and spend all their time together either walking up to the mine to investigate or around the motel. Mystery and suspense and history all rolled into one terrific read.
It may be a short story, but it sure is full of action!
Aurora Clayton tragically lost her parents in an accident six months ago & moved home from Vegas to take over their run down motel. Max Lawson inherited some land from his Grandfather that had been in his family for generations. Neither one of them expected the sparks that would fly when Max checked into “The Last Resort”.
I often find novellas lacking when it comes to the believability of a couple’s relationship & the “insta-love” feeling. That was not the case with this story. Gwyn did a fabulous job developing Aurora & Max’s relationship. What started out as something to just pass the time for both of them, grew into so much more. This story had it all, twist & turns, laughs & tears, and in true Gwyn fashion…some really hot love scenes!
If you haven’t read a Gwyn McNamee story yet, this is a great place to start!
I loved this book. There was action and suspense, there were steamy scenes, the characters had a connection, everything was well written. The connection made by the characters was almost instant, but they knew the situation would only be short-lived. They tried to protect their hearts, but ultimately found their HEA. Another great quick read story by a great author.
Love this opposites attract
Max and Aurora grabbed my heart and squeezed intense emotional beautiful heartstopping
ready for more
This was an insta-love story that I really enjoyed. Max was a California golden boy who inherited a mine in Nevada. Aurora is the owner of a rundown motel that he stays in while checking out that mine. They were instantly attracted to one another. I loved their chemistry! Of course, they run into some trouble. This story was written as dual POV, and I loved that. I like knowing what both characters are thinking. This author is one of my favorites. I’m never disappointed with her stories.
love the little surprises that Gwyn packs in her books! Last resort hotel was a great mix of mystery, angst and romance! I wasn’t sure what to expect between Aurora and Max and I had so many ideas on what would take place but as always…SURPRISE!!!
This is another amazing book that will not disappoint! It’s so beautiful what will happen when we take a chance!
I really liked this novella. It was steamy in all the right places and it had some suspense and action thrown in there too. Perfect combination.
I read an advanced copy of this book.
Last Resort Motel is an incredible, short story of finding love where you didn’t expect to. Max has come to stay at the Last Resort Motel while he checks out land that was left to him. Aurora is the owner of the Motel and doesn’t see many customers . There is something special and electric between these two. Their chemistry is hot, it’s actually sizzling.
Gwyn McNamee is an amazing writer and I love all her books. Definitely worth a read!!!
This was a very nice short story that had everything you would want in a romance book. The background story of the motel was different and I really enjoyed that. Max and Aurora found each other when neither one was looking. It was an insta-love book, but I was okay with that because it felt complete. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer!
I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done!
