Bri McAndrews is the envy of every girl at Chamberlain and the one every guy wants at their side. What most people don’t know is that there’s so much more to her than the picture-perfect life everyone sees on the surface. Being the daughter of a power-hungry senator has her under constant scrutiny. Even though she’s used to being in the spotlight, it’s becoming harder to meet her father’s … expectations. When Trey Donovan stereotypes her as just another spoiled, rich kid, she’s more than determined to show him he’s wrong about her, and she doesn’t care about the consequences it will have for her at home.
After giving the most popular guy in school a beat down he’ll never forget, Trey Donovan becomes more than just the new, all-star quarterback at Chamberlain. He’s the bad boy from the south side every girl is dying to have on their arm. Unfazed by his new popularity, Trey isn’t about to let his guard down. But keeping everyone at a distance becomes a challenge, especially whenever Bri is nearby. She’s way out of his social stratosphere and the one girl he shouldn’t even consider pursuing.
As Bri and Trey grow closer, more than a few vengeful people have a problem with it. Can their budding new relationship survive when so many people are set on keeping them apart?
This book has strong language and sexual content. It is intended for readers that are 18 years and up.
This book is a prequel to the Secrets and Lies series.

Awesomely wrote story with twist and turns with interesting characters. Love this author and I will read her again. This book is part of a series.
So Trey is from the wrong side but got a scholarship to go to a great school and one of his best friends goes there too. Mia and Trey have been friends forever and Micah too. As Trey enters a new school he is not welcomed at all. A few do , a couch and some students but not many. He locks eyes with a beautiful girl named Bri. They don’t start dating right away since they are from two separate worlds but after a bit they do. One thing is for sure, that there are a few that don’t want them together at all. More things happen when they are together. Bri is a daughter of John who wants to get re-elected for office and having his daughter date someone from the south side doesn’t help. He is a sick person and does some nasty things to Bri. It does leave on a cliff hanger since we don’t know if they will work it out or not.
First I want to say I really enjoy this author and the way she writes her stories. The two main Characters of this book is Bri and Try. The story is one that you have heard before two people from opposite sides of the town, but with this story the emotional Roller coast that keeps you so into the book you really don’t want it to end. You have to know how its going to work out. Which you wont until the next book. Bri has a terrible father in fact one I find hard to even think that there are people out there that treat their kids this way. Trey he has done all he can do for his family and he has gone through a lot. He is a lover but also a fighter. Hang on to your seats this one is going to be a bumpy read.
I love a good YA book and this book just sucked me right in. The main characters were wonderful and this book had me on a roller coaster ride. Once I started reading this book I could not put it down. I enjoyed reading every single minute of this book. Fantastic read and highly recommended.
Trey and Bri, along with Micah and Mia are high school students who are having to grow up way too fast!! Trey’s parents put him in a “right side of the tracks” school when he is from the “wrong side of the tracks” and this brings him lots of problems that he must take care of on his own. Bri’s family is wealthy, yet vacant when it comes to her. Trey must decide what he wants in life and this book takes you on this story. I anxiously await book two and hope he figures things out!!
Trey and Bri have a complicated relationship for high school. With their social classes and others trying to keep them apart, they face struggle after struggle. I still have so many questions I want answered. Hope book 2 gives them too me!
Trey Donovan is put in a school way out of his neighborhood and his lifestyle but if he can do well he can help his family but the students and some of the faculty are making it difficult. Bri doesn’t see a guy from the Southside she only sees him and his kindness but one of the students Sebastian is out to make them both miserable. As Trey and Bri grow closer small disturbances keep happening forcing Trey to lose his temper but when one of the worst things happened Trey has to make a choice but it’s the hardest in his life. I normally don’t read young adult but this sparked my interest in the first chapter even though it does end in a cliffhanger.
Ms. Koenig is a new author to me and I have to say that when I read the blurb I was immediately captivated and just knew I had to read it.
I was not disappointed to say the least. Having to read books about things that happen in real life, things that happen to kids mostly in school is a serious issue that reels you in from the moment you start to the moment you end.
I was so in tune with this story. I loved the characters, Trey was a very strong character and I loved him because you wasn’t about to let stupid snobby rich kids treat him like he was trash. Just because you don’t come from the same circles, the rich money doesn’t mean you can’t be a part of that world. Trey was a very smart, talented student who had high expectations. All he wants to do is succeed in school, get a scholarship to go to college and get a good education, he wants to do something with his life and his family means the world to him. There’s nothing he wouldn’t do for them and his best friends Micah and Mia.
Bri comes from a wealthy family but she’s never been snobbish nor does she rub her money on anyone. On the contrary, she’s a selfless person who has fallen for the boy from the wrong side of town. She’s been through some tough times in her life with these rich pricks. Sebastian is the biggest jackhole of them all and he will stop at nothing at making Bri’s life a living hell along with Trey’s.
These two go through so much just to be able to be together. The obstacles are endless when it comes to them. This book was phenomenal and I can’t wait to get more. High school drama is always the best reads because they keep you on the edge of your seat with the suspense and drama.
This is the first book by this author that I have read. I loved reading and following Trey and Bri’s story. Reading how two people from different backgrounds can find love and overcome adversity to be together. I look forward to reading more of this series.
First time reading a book by this author and it wasn’t that bad. It wasn’t anything close to what I thought it was when I read the blurb. It had so many twists and turns that kept you turning the page at times and at times I was like no what’s next for these two.
Brianna and Trey were from complete opposite sides of town. She was the wealthy daughter of a senator and he was the son of an owner of a construction company. Brianna home was completely dysfunctional while Trey’s was the complete opposite. She was attracted to him from the beginning but he had her placed in the same category as all the other rich kids until he realized that she’s nothing like them. It wasn’t easy but they gave it a shot and that’s where all their problems began. The things these two encountered will have you wondering if it was even worth it. I don’t even think this story got its closure.
The epilogue had me a bit confused because it seems like lots of things and issues were left unsolved. I personally didn’t expect it and was a bit confused as to what actually was going on between these two.
Every day in school, hell in life was a struggle to keep his anger in check. His life was chaos from every angle and it was tearing him apart. She had an abusive life at home with her father and a mother who was more interested in her next drink. These two find each other and in many ways protect each other from all of the attacks, but . . . . When friends actions cause them even more trouble the someday they are fighting for is in jeopardy. Between her father and the people fighting to take Trey down the love they have, the love that feeds and sustains them is being threatened.
Awesome read filled with angst and wonderful support characters and a few folks that deserve so much more than they get. These two are fighting a battle where their chance of winning is low and this author is going to make them work darn hard for it. I haven’t read this author before but I have completely enjoyed myself. There is much left to this complicated couple to explore and work through and I can hardly wait. No this isn’t over so yeah you need to read this before the next one is out cos it isn’t a standalone.
This is my first time reading a book from Ms. Koenig and it won’t be my last! This was a great book! I can’t wait to read book 2!
I started this without reading the blurb and Trey and Bri drew me in right from the beginning. I was not disappointed as this story goes at a fairly fast pace with lots of secrets and twists to be told!
There were and still are so many layers to these characters. Their realness and chemistry was the perfect balance, I can’t wait to read the other two books from this series!
Fighting for Someday is book 1 in The Someday Series. Get ready this book will suck you in. The characters were great. This story definitely had its twists. What they had to go through was rough. Great read.
