Wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! This book you guys! Fantastic. I can’t believe what I just read. (Mouth is hanging open) I was completely lost in this second book. Life isn’t as easy as before. It’s a fight for survival but Rain and Wes have each other. The struggle they endure is intense at times. These two still have a push/pull relationship and I wanted things to work out between them. In times like this, people need a friend. Rain is a trouper and she does what it takes to help the friends around her. I loved the adventure, danger and chemistry in this book. I was on the edge of my seat and BB KILLED it! I’m looking forward to the final book in the series!
“I’ll fight to keep you alive. I’ll fight to keep you safe. But I will never fight to keep you, or anyone, from leaving me.”
Let’s just start this review with a big HOLY COW what did I just finish reading here!!!!!!! BB Easton are you planing on giving me a heart attack?? I can’t believe you left me with my jaw hanging here and with that ending in book 2. Thank goodness book 3 it’s releasing pretty soon because I might DIE waiting.
Fighting for Rain it’s book 2 of The Rain trilogy. You definitely need to read this books in order. This book twisted my heart and made it pound doubly. This trilogy is a combination of Dystopian love story with after apocalyptic madness. I mean when you think life it’s finally achieving some sense of normalcy for the main characters after all of their ordeal in book 1. BB comes and bam gives you another twist.
Fighting for Rain has elements of suspense, action and passion to last you a decade.
The story in book 2 starts right where we left off after Praying for Rain. Now it’s April 24 and the world didn’t end and there’s no Horsemen coming to take everyone.
The big question for Wes and Rain is what happens now? It’s a new world and new rules but no one is safe still. What will come of humanity now and were do Wes and Rain will find their new beginning? You guys HAVE TO read this to get all the answers. Promise is TOTALLY worth it.
Wes and Rain’s love will be tested and I ache and wanted to scream for them.
If you guys read book 1 and thought this was brilliant, you haven’t seen NOTHING yet. I was not expecting the twist and it will definitely keep you on edge all the way to the end.
“We say fuck ’em and survive anyway.”
Counting the days for book 3.
Fighting For Rain by BB Easton is book two in her Rain Trilogy and oh boy did this book a number on me.
Fighting For Rain is not, I repeat, not a stand alone. You must read the books in order. The previous book is Praying For Rain, the next book is Dying For Rain.
Back to Fighing For Rain. The story picks up where Praying For Rain was left off. Wes, Rain and their two friends are on their way out of the city when an accident happens. They get stranded and have to abid by the rules of the, lets call her queen. Wes is wary, but they have no choice. They have to play the game – with fatal consequences.
This book was so so highyl anticipated by me and when it landed on my kindle I was like, yeah lets dive in and what can I say I read the whole story, cover to cover, in one sitting. I could not put it down anymore. The story gripped me, put me through the wringer and gave me all the feels. BB wrote a fantastic story, set in a dystopian wolrd with people prepared for the apocalypse- and I was with them the whole time. I hurt with them, I loughed and I cried with them. I highly, highly recommend the book,5+ Stars and I really, really can’t wait for the conclusion, coming soon.
After sitting stunned to silence, because this book left me speechless, I went back and in the beginning of the book I made a note of my very first reactions. I wrote; “Freedom in a mass of chaos is something you wouldn’t expect to feel but it’s there and in all the chaos you hold the ones you love tighter”. While this may not make sense to some, to me it’s does, the entire time this book was screaming one thing and longing for the most common desire we all want. And the way BB connects the chaos and the reality, the rational and “what am I reading” is masterful. It’s this brilliant burst of every emotion that we are actually feeling now in this present day in a world that is just to crazy it could really happen.
So get comfortable because once you start that first chapter you will not be able to put it down. Bravo, BB!!
Holy Apocalypse that wasn’t an actual Apocalypse!! I am so glad this trilogy is not over yet. Although, I’m not so sure that I will EVER be ready to let Wes and Rain go! I have become so obsessed with what happens to them. I devoured this book, hung on every single syllable, until that ENDING knocked me off at the knees. Not gonna lie, I’m a little terrified. No,Y’all! I’m A LOT terrified. I Can’t Even think about what this could mean.
BB Easton, what are you planning to do to my heart?
“I knew from the moment I first laid eyes on Rainbow Williams that I would end up dying for her.”
I don’t think I have ever been so glad an author is releasing the second and third books so close together. Two week is practically back-to-back when you are as in love with the characters and storyline, as I am.
Oh a really awesome thing about this book is that it gave you just enough nuggets of backstory info that it immediately jogs your memories to all the monumental stuff that happened in Praying for Rain. You can totally jump and be swept right back into Franklin Springs and what’s left of its surrounding towns.
Good gravy at the character transformation in this book. I am so utterly in love with Wes and Rain’s characters. GAH I love how he looked at her, how he touches and cares for her. Oh.My.Gawd! SO HAWTTTTT! The way he become EVERYTHING to her. He taught her important lessons in survival. He had saved her so many times when she almost died. She knew as long as she was with him he would take care of her and everything would be okay. She looked at him like he was her protector, her savior and her lover and future all in one perfect package.
“I would follow this man to the ends of the earth, which , from the looks of it, might be right here at Pitchard Park Mall.”
Wes shows us more of a vulnerable and less confident side to him than what would have expected. I think that when he and Rain are faced with things from their past, especially hers, he just acts impulsively as a defense mechanism to protect himself. Unfortunately, that will cause him to make some choices that are heartbreaking.
Rain becomes stronger like Wes taught her to be and she channels everything into being a caretaker. Even though she’s rocking some pretty savage PTSD she’s still managing to kick tail and take names and not just take everything that gets thrown at her. I hated what she had to go through and the circumstances surrounding it, but she is so much stronger for it. I get the feeling going forward she is sure going to need it.
There is a big chunk of the book where you are saddened by the turn of events, but I understood it and hoped it would change going forward. When hit with a gut-wrenching reality of what the new future looks like, Wes realizes that no matter what he will always protect his girl.
“This woman found me broken and made me whole, and I’m suddenly determined to do the same for her.”
As soon as you think you have figured out WTF is happening and your heart is safe…B.B. Easton will deliver a gut punch so hard it will knock you straight on your flippin fanny! Because that ENDING!! Are Y’all ready?!?! This MUST be you next read. IT’S that freakin’ PHENOMENAL!! If you haven’t read book one, start this TODAY!!!
*I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book!
My cr8zysockbookblock blog wrap up for this book!
– Obsessed with Rain and Wes. I was shocked by the twists and turns that came out about the “April 23” plan. This book was way more that in could have even predicted and I honestly had super high expectations going in. BB Easton blew them away and then some. That ending though… that ending left my eyes filled with tears, my heart overrun with fear, hope, awe, and excitement and anticipation for the conclusion, Dying for Rain.
-OMG! HOLY HOT DANG! No matter what Wes and Rain are super explosive. They are fire and sparks and sometimes a sweet in a dirty way, just everything amazingly yummy I want in love scenes.
Cliffhanger Warning- Mega stop your heart and crush it cliffy!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
GIVE ME MORE RIGHT NOW!!! This book was amazing and I am going to die of anticipation for the final book, Dying For Rain!
I am obsessed with Wes and Rain. Different characters show up to shake things way the hell up in this book, which is what I love about this author’s writing; I CAN NEVER GUESS WHAT IS COMING!
And that ending! I mean, COME ON!
Fighting for Rain was another great read by BB Easton. For everyone still alive, they believed that the world was supposed to end on April 23. Unfortunately for Rainbow, her world ended days before that when her father killed her mom and tried to kill her as well. The apocalypse claimed everything she loved including her will to live. Wes didn’t have anything left for the apocalypse to take until her found Rainbow. They fell in love quickly and were prepared to die together on April 23. They never expected that the apocalypse was a farce and they would live to see April 24. I love reading Wes and Rain’s story of love and survival. I can’t wait to read more of this great series.
Holy Moly, I feel like I’m all jacked up on Mountain Dew and ready to throw down for my own survival!
Fighting for Rain is the story of our Rainbow learning to put what is now her past behind her and move forward. Into an unforeseen future, where she has to learn to accept the things she has done and will have to do to survive. To even WANT to survive. And Wes, with his powerful presence is the one to remind her that she does in fact have something worth living. Something “blinding and devastating and healing and hot”. (OH MY!)
I cant even begin to tell you all the feelings I had during this book because I want to give away absolutely nothing. But I will say that almost everything that happens is completely unexpected. A twist of fate, if you will. You know what’s coming but you don’t, but hey here’s something else to throw in there to mess up your brain hole and send you reeling.
When I read Praying for Rain, all Could think was BB is straight genius. She was able to take us completely out of HER world and submerge us into an apocalyptic thriller giving us no idea where we are going and not a clue as to where we will end up. After reading this installment, the only thing I’m thinking about is if I am actually ready for it all to come to a close.
I was hooked on Wes and Rain’s story from the beginning but now that we’re onto book 2 I’m DYING for more and cannot wait to see what happens in book 3. The non stop edge of your seat storyline will have you holding your breath more often then not. I gotta day that Q is undoubtably a B through and through, that chick needs to be knocked down a peg or three. What a story! This is a must read but make sure you read them in order.
What an amazing follow up to Praying for Rain! I was not expecting to love this book as much, but I was completely blown away! There are no words for how amazing this book is – none. Fighting for Rain is pure perfection from beginning to end! I need book three RIGHT NOW!
„I’ll fight to keep you alive. I’ll fight to keep you safe.
But I will never fight to keep you, or anyone, from leaving me.”
WHAT THE WHAT?! To be honest, when I finished the first book in this trilogy I had no clue what to expect. BB Easton blew my mind so hard that I was dazed and I couldn’t predict which way the story would unfold. But Fighting For Rain? This book took me on such a ride that I was constantly at the edge of the seat, holding on to dear life. What a freaking rollercoaster!
Maybe the apocalypse didn’t come, but April 23rd left its mark and the world is still not safe. Wes and Rain are facing new obstacles, trying to survive. Both of them are struggling with their own demons, but one thing is clear- they need each other and they’re better together. But before I saw them again, their seperate time almost ripped my heart to shreds.
I admire Rain so much! Seeing her character evolve was heartbreaking at times, but in the same time so wonderful! Even though she’s been through terrible things, all her experience turned her into a real survivor.
Wes is a complicated guy, who is strong and determined on one side, and broken and vulnerable on the other. His fight with his own emotions almost brought me to my knees. But it finally warmed my heart when he allowed himself to be loved and needed.
Their love story is unusual, born from madness and chaos. But its rawness and their need for each other makes this love real and special. These two aroused every possible emotion in me. I cheered on them, cried for them and they filled my heart to the brim with warmth.
Fighting For Rain is raw and emotional. Our characters fight not only for survival, but also for their love. BB Easton is an amazing storyteller, she sheds every word and emotion on the pages with such diligence that you can feel when they sink into you deeply. This story blew my mind and I can’t wait for the conclusion in Dying For Rain, especially after that jaw-dropping ending!
If you loved the first book, this one will leave you wanting even more and will leave you speechless. At least it did for me. It just keeps getting better. Rain and Wes have so much more to get through and the danger and obstacles just kept me glued. I usually don’t like high angsty stories but since reading the first, I knew I wasn’t going to be able to stop with this trilogy. It captures you and doesn’t spit you back out until you’re a mess at the end.
BB Easton rocked it with this story. This is book two in the series and picks up where book one ended. There were several scenes that were nail biting, edge of my seat, what is going to happened because I need to know! She did a great job with painting this end of the world picture for the readers. I seriously felt like I was there and I was side by side with Rain and Wes. While there is a romance story taking place I did feel like that was more pushed to the back and the story was more about survival in this new world. I lived the story and I loved all the twists that the author threw at us. I am excited to how this one is going to end. Bring on the next book!
I need to give this book way more than 5 stars. It was absolutely amazing! The characters were perfect. The plot sucked me right in and I could not stop reading. There was so much emotion and suspense and heat and just EVERYTHING. I can not wait for the last book.
This being my first Apocalyptic/dystopia series ever, I’m bound to be confused by some scenes so bear with me
Apocalypse doomsday is come and gone, it’s April 24th now. Now what??
That’s a million dollar question…. This episode starts with Rain and Wes trying to survive…they end up at Franklin Parkland Mall after an explosion on the highway leaves them stranded with their friends Quint & Lamar in wounded condition. With the Bonys running rampant, they struggle and limp together to find refuge in the mall and unexpectedly meet some of their old acquaintances…or Rainbow’s known people.
From here on, we see a marked change in Wes. He turns out to be more emotionally fragile and complexed than Rain, whose courage builds every step of the way.
“He’s gone – I can feel it. The fiery, passionate Wes that I was beginning to get to know had become the Ice King again. Cold. Hard. Good at slipping through my fingers.”
A particular character from the Pre Doomsday Era pops up and that creates confusion and conflict in their lives much to Rain’s dismay and Heartbreak..this is not what she’d expected would happen!!
The end is a cliffy and you’re left hanging with your mouth open. W.T.F!! so go speculate
4 stars for Warm Vanilla Sugar candles.
Fighting For Rain is the second book in The Rain Trilogy and it was an engrossing and riveting continuation to the series. I didn’t think it was possible to top the first book but Fighting For Rain surpasses it in leaps and bounds. The story begins right where book 1 left off and we are taken on a journey with Rain and Wes in this post apocalyptic world filled with chaos and mayhem. The story was fast paced with non stop action, unexpected villains and twists and turns around every corner.
BB Easton did an excellent job with world building in this novel. It was so well written and detailed you could easily picture it all in your mind and I was hooked from beginning to end. This unique story evoked many emotions from me while I was reading it. Yes it was suspenseful, angsty and steamy but it was the passion and chemistry between Wes and Rain that I loved the most. I couldn’t put this book down and now I’m so anxious for the third and final book in this trilogy. I can’t wait to see how it all ends.
Fighting For Rain was another phenomenal addition to this series worthy of more than stars. I loved it and would highly recommend it to all lovers of dystopian, post-apocalyptic romance.
Oh.My.God. B.B. EASTON YOU GET BACK HERE RIGHT NOW WITH THE NEXT BOOK BEFORE I LOSE MY EVERLOVING MIND!
Holy cannoli I can’t believe what I just read. My mind is . Here I was thinking my mind was blown by Praying For Rain, nope. Nothing, not one flipping thing, could have prepared me for the gut wrenching twists and turns of Fighting For Rain.
This book put me through every emotion humanly possible and has left me desperate for more. I sobbed, I gasped, I raged, I fell in love all over again with Wes and Rain and now I’m left with the mother of all book hangovers. This book had me flying between utter shock, ugly crying and falling in love so much I don’t even know who I am right now. Am I a people? A cat? A taco? Heck if I know. The only think I can currently think of is how to get my hands on the next book. Maybe I’m a zombie but instead of roaming the streets going “braaaaaaaains” I’m just rocking in a corner going “raaaaaaaain”? I think it’s pretty clear B.B. Easton stole the last of my sanity and Fighting For Rain is beyond epic. You can thank that epicness for this insanity riddled rambling excuse of a review.
“One touch, and I’m rooted to the spot, lit up and blazing hot as his power surges through me. It scrambles my thoughts, blasts through all my fears, and leaves me humming and vibrating and yearning for more.”
Blew…my….mind!! As if they didn’t face enough in book one, Wes and Rain continue to survive in a world completely opposite of what they had previously. New obstacles, new enemies, facing danger around every corner, while facing their inner demons to overcome it all. A whirlwind of feels, excitement, pulse-pounding events, and a jaw dropper at the end that left me completely and utterly flabbergasted!! I’m salivating to find out how this trilogy ends!! Unique, unlike anything I’ve read, an absolute MUST READ!!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!
“As I fill her with everything I have. Everything I am. Everything that I want to be for her. I could stay here like this forever, basking in the afterglow of my girl on fire.”

Fighting for Rain picks right back up but has just enough back info that helps trigger your memory. So well written and great paced I couldn’t put it down. I fell even more in love with Wes and Rain. It’s weird to call this a sexy romance when Rain and Wes find themselves in a whole new war, but it is. If you thought book 1 was original this one will shock you.
The outside was scary enough in the after math of the world crashed down around them, but being trapped inside is no Rainbow. In the company of Wes, a bunch of runaways, her old boyfriend, old memories, old wounds and new ones Rain has to fight through it. The thing is they call it heartbreak for a reason. Broken to many times and things can’t always be fixed. Everyone keeps thinking of Rain as a fixer, a healer… even if it will be the death of her.
While Wes learns what love really is, surviving it is a challenge of its own. Love makes people weak, and In order to fight they can’t be weak. This book ends right when betrayal knocks down the door… Changing their worlds again.
Btw book 3, Dying for Rain can’t come soon enough!
I am just speechless right now. I didn’t think it was possible to top Praying for Rain, but this one certainly did just that. From start to finish, I was completely and utterly hooked on this book. Fighting for Rain was intense, gripping, sexy, and absolutely amazing! It definitely brought out all of the feels in me. I smiled. I cried. I raged. And I fell in love with Wes and Rain all over again.
The world was supposed to end on April 23rd, but it didn’t. Wes and Rain are alive to see another day. But with no family left to go home to, the two of them find themselves at the town’s local mall. There they are faced with new obstacles that neither are even remotely prepared for. Will they be able to survive their new enemies or the new laws enforced in this new world?
Fighting for Rain is a fantastic read that more than checked off all the marks for me. It was well written with a perfectly executed plot and well developed characters. This angsty and exciting tale will have your heart pounding while keeping you on the edge of your seat. You will be left shocked and surprised with all of the twists and turns. Please do yourself a favor, and READ THIS BOOK! As soon as it goes live, be sure to one-click this baby. It is an exciting ride that you will not want to miss.
