The world was supposed to end on April 23, but Rainbow Williams’s world ended days before that. The mass hysteria caused by the impending apocalypse claimed everything she’d ever loved. Her family. Her city. Her will to live.Until she met him.Wes Parker didn’t have anything left for the apocalypse to take … he’d already lost it all by the time he was nine years old. His family. His home. His hope … His family. His home. His hope of ever being loved.
Until he met her.
Brought together by fate and bound by a love that would last lifetimes, Rain and Wes were prepared to die together on April 23.
They were not prepared for what would happen on April 24.

Omg. I don’t even know where to begin. After finishing Praying For Rain, I had to wait an excruciatingly long 2 days before the release of Fighting For Rain to arrive. I was not disappointed in the slightest. From the beginning, Fighting For Rain was raw and real and oh so agonizing, in the best way possible.
When we left Praying For Rain, April 23 had arrived and we were all expecting the world to have ended. Wes and Rain were together, prepared for the end and surprise, surprise, it was all a hoax. So we find them on the run to survive, paired up with Her friends from school, heading toward an abandoned mall where they learn that Rain’s boyfriend is actually alive and still in town. This threw a wrench in the mix and actually gave us a chance to peek a little more under Wes’ rough and tough exterior.
I loved the character development we were lucky enough to experience from both Rain and Wes and omg, lemme tell you, their angst and romance was ULTRA HOT. Wes’ tendency to leave before he got left was a big player in some of Rain’s actions and pain, and I have to say that I felt it to my core right along with her. This second book had me laughing and grieving right in time with her. Wes’ character is so true and real that reading about him felt like reading about people I know and I kept reaching emotional highs in response to her writing!
These books will keep you on the edge of your seat and always wanting more. This one does end on a cliffhanger, but it’s just whetting you’re appetite for the final book of the trilogy. I can’t wait and I know I’ll be one-clicking!
I can confidently say that if you one-clicked this book, or any book in the series, you shouldn’t be disappointed.
BB Easton has managed to reignite my love for dystopian romance with this addictively captivating trilogy and my heart hasn’t stopped racing since that epic cliffhanger in Praying for Rain and it was on life-support the entire time I was devouring Fighting for Rain. Just because Rain and Wes survived April 23 doesn’t mean all their trouble are behind them. If anything things are about to get a whole lot crazier because no one was expected to make it to April 24, but the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse never appeared. Learning the dark secrets behind that fateful date will change their lives and the lives of those around them forever. Enemies lie in waiting around every corner and you never know who to trust because friends will turn on you if given an opportunity.
The second book in the Rain trilogy pulled on all of my heartstrings and once again I found myself on the edge the entire time. My heart was all for Wes and Rain and I just knew that these two were beyond perfect for one another, but of course there are always obstacles bound to stand in their way. There were times when I thought my chest was going to explode from those unexpected twist. I didn’t think I was going to survive, especially when Wes did something stupid (luckily he redeemed himself rather quickly, otherwise I would have gone apeshit on his ass).
Oh and don’t even get me started on yet another heart-wrenching cliffhanger ending. So once again I am requesting that Dying for Rain appears on my kindle right this second (at least we don’t have to wait too long)! I cannot wait to see what BB Easton throws at us next time, but fingers crossed it ends in a happily ever after or I don’t think my soul will survive.
Wow! All I can say is WOW ! I’ve tried waiting a few to write my review so I could come up with something that would do this book justice and I can’t so I’m just going to say this THIS BOOK was everything I anticipated and more ! This is BB Easton at her absolute best ! I can’t wait for Dying Rain !!! The end is coming! Start this trilogy now and buckle up because your in for one heck of a ride !
*** I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book ***
I die for all things BB Easton! She writes stories that are relatable and characters that you just love. Her stories speak to your heart and soul. Rain and Wes are my favorite couple ever! The broken, scared boy who hides his fears behind a tough exterior, and the sweet, sassy girl who fears so much but is still strong despite it all. They are just trying to survive the apocalypse and also protect their love. I really can’t go in to any specifics about the story because, spoilers, but trust me, you want to go into this trilogy completely unaware. I’m gonna say it, top 10 favorite book for 2020.
Praying for Rain was a stellar 5-star read for me. The anticipation and unknown was so shocking and gut-wrenching! Fighting for Rain wasn’t nearly as climactic and breath stealing as I’d hoped it would be but it was still a solid 4-star book! I wished it was longer!
The aftermath of April 23 was absolutely terrifying. The fall out from the “end of days” and the actual truth about it all left me completely shocked and angry! I had no idea how the author was going to set up that plot twist and what a deranged direction she took it! You’re an evil genius, BB!
Fighting for Rain had plenty of breath-stealing moments. It was chalked full of heartbreaking sadness and trivial encounters. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, just hoping nothing would happen to Wes or Rain. Where Praying for Rain had more heartwarming and emotional discovery for both main characters, this novel really just felt like a survival guide to the apocalypse. Simply getting through one day at a time, alive.
The cliffhanger ending had me gasping out loud. What a set up for the final book!!!! I can’t wait to see how the author decides to end this madness.
I think it’s worth mentioning at the start – this author cares enough to release two thirds of this trilogy before Leap Year. This second and very BUSY book in the Rain Trilogy made me a little wistful for the way things went on April 23rd. Wes and Rain are elemental and necessary to each other for survival and actual love. The mall shops will never be inconsequential again; and life outside the complex will never be truly safe. Be ready to feel; brace for impact. And don’t step on the glass.
Emotions are running high as the apocalypse throws more curve balls at Rain and Wes. Enemies are closer than they think and time will not be on their side as their world implodes around them and the danger they face is worse than they ever could have imagined. I am desperate, anxiously awaiting the conclusion to their apocalyptic love story and hoping they might still find a happily ever after in a world h..l bent on tearing them apart.
From reading book one then to book two. Words can’t describe how much I enjoyed reading this series. With that being said scant wait to read Dying for Rain. Excellent BB as always.
A story like nothing I’ve ever read before – a story so raw and unforgiving with its suffocating pain and a bravery in its characters, it’s a story that will leave its readers completely mesmerized.
While Rain and Wes share a combustible passion for one another, it turns into so much more as their journey for self-preservation ensues. With new dangers lurking in what is humankind’s new reality, Rain and Wes have to put aside their own demons and fight for one another.
Easton pens the torment and pain of both Wes and Rain to the point that I felt it in the depths of my own bones.
This book was simply hypnotic. It had me wanting more from a world I didn’t know I wanted to be part of and one I know I will never be the same upon leaving. If you are looking to take a chance on a new author or a new series I urge you to take a chance on this one. I can guarantee it will breathe fresh life into yours.
As Always, Happy Reading!
“5/5 Beaming Brains!” – Lit-Up My Mind
This book was a bit different then I expected it to be, but the unexpected can also be the best. I was hesitant for where this was going in the beginning, happy at where it was at in the middle, and freaking out by the end.
I knew it was a cliff-hanger going in but I wasn’t ready for that.
I don’t give spoilers so I’ll just say you need to buy this book (and the one before, then the one after) and read them for yourself. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
instead of five stars I am going to do five mind-blows that is what this book has done to me
You are the only exception…. I can’t not wait for Dying For Rain… my mind is blown and I can not believe what I just read Jan 30 can not get here soon enough! BB has done it again, not only has she made me fall in love with Wes but I felt like I was Rain while reading this book, I felt all the pain, hurt and happiness! This is a must read and I promise you won’t regret it!
Great follow-up to Praying For Rain-. I loved seeing Rain stronger in this book. She was so different then in the first one it was like she was someone else. Oh Wes. He aggravated me at times but I totally saw his side of things. We got to see deeper into the cause of April 23rd and it get crazier from there. Ups and downs and lots of things happen. I really can’t wait to see what the last book brings and wether these two get a HEA like they deserve. 4 stars #2OCCJD
Fighting for Rain will leave you breathless!
This book is like no other. It’s like The Walking Dead without the zombies…only Bonys. Wes and Rain still love each other despite their terrible situation. What a twisted path this story takes. I had to keep reading to find out what happens. The ending though….OMG!!
I was obsessed with Praying for Rain and I was so excited to read Fighting for Rain, but I was also nervous. Sometimes waiting for the 2nd book in a trilogy we get so excited and build it up in our heads, then when we finally get our hands on it we read but then it falls flat. This book has only sent my obsession for all things Wes and Rain over the edge. This trilogy, I can safely say is now one of my top favorites.
Wes and Rain will keep you on your toes in book 2 and you will not be able to put this book down. Ms. Easton takes us for a ride with this book. And now I have to not so patiently wait for the next book. ABSOLUTELY a must read!!!
Gripping, heartwarming, intense, and extremely impressive!
This is book 2 into The Rain Trilogy, and let me tell you that this installment went above my expectations. I devoured this book overnight. I couldn’t stop turning the pages, even if I was trying to force myself to get some rest. (No regreats here, though)
Wes and Rain’s journey is taking some twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seats, and begging for more by the time you turned the last page. In all honesty, I never thought there’ll ever be another post apocalyptic series that will get me hooked, and addicted as much as the only one that has been my ultimate favorite until “The Rain came to my hands”. WOW, so glad I didn’t let this opportunity escape me.
I hate spoilers, so I won’t go into details because this is a series worth savoring for how amazing it is. This book begins right where Praying for Rain left off, and I can’t wait for the conclusion of this spectacular series.
Holy wow!! What an incredible read! Fast paced, gripping, twisty and will hit you in the feels a bit. I’m completely obsessed with this apocalyptic world BB Easton has created. I don’t want it to ever end. If I thought I couldn’t love Wes and Rain more after Praying for Rain, I was wrong. They’re incredible!
The second book in the Rain trilogy lived up to the greatness of the first book. Fighting for Rain picks up right where Praying left off. After the Apocalypse doesn’t occur, Rain and Wes must learn to survive in their new normal. Secrets are exposed and new characters threaten the bond between Rain and Wes.
I absolutely devoured this book in one sitting. I don’t read a lot of books like this but I love BB’s power to ease me out of my comfort zone and transport me into a world where your motto is “what you need to survive that day.” It’s exhilarating.
Fighting for Rain ends with a shocking cliffhanger that had me crying for book 3. I can’t wait to have Dying for Rain in my hands!!
*** Fighting for Rain is the second book in The Rain Trilogy and must be read after book one, Praying For Rain. This review may contain spoilers if you are not yet caught up in the series. ***
Rainbow Williams never thought she would live through April 23rd, but here she is, with her entire world ripped from her, nonetheless. Life as she and the entire world knows it is over… but as long as she has Wesson Parker by her side… she is starting to realize that she can face just about anything…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fighting for Rain was just as life altering and mind bending as it’s predecessor, and the start of this trilogy, Praying For Rain. The horseman may be gone, but for everyone who still exists on the planet, there is a new nightmare scenario that they can look forward to as their everyday normal. And just when Rain and Wes have learned to lean on each other… everything changes yet again…
This book is another absolute hit from BB Easton. I mean, I seriously can’t grasp the unending talent and scope of this author works sometimes. She has a way of taking a story that you would never go for, and working her magic to make it the best read ever.
Here are my hangups that she smashes to smithereens, once again. 1) I don’t really read books that feature a dystopian/apocolapyse storyline… check. 2) I don’t always love second books in trilogies… check. 3) And I sometimes feel like I have felt everything I can out of a character at the end of the first book… check.
Rain is a constant touchstone of the emotion and frailty that everyone on Earth should be experiencing in one way or another. She has been through the worst of the worst, and even though her strength may be taking a backseat at the moment, there isn’t a lot she can do to hide the light she inherently possesses. Life is complicated and dangerous, but Rain has some work to do… and a man she wants to do it with… which might be an even worse scenario…
I am seriously dying for the next book in the The Rain Trilogy, which is aptly… and very darkly named Dying for Rain. After the cliffhanger that may or may not need give your own heart some dangerous palpitations, I am so happy this book is releasing in just a few short weeks…
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
This is book 2 in the Praying for Rain Trilogy and this Dystopian Romance got more exciting and full of surprises. Wes and Rain’s haunting and suspenseful continues. The plot thickens and some new characters are introduced which provide some light and comic relief.
This installment is even more exciting and the ending left me wanting book 3 yesterday. I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds!
BB Easton took us on another fantastic ride. I did not believe that this book could be better than Praying for Rain, but I was so wrong. Fighting for Rain picked up right where Praying for Rain ended. We learned so much new information about life after April 23rd and what the new normal will be for our main characters. I enjoyed every minute of this book. I love Wes and Rain and their journey together. I felt so many emotions and I cannot stop thinking about the ending. I’m waiting very impatiently for Dying for Rain. I need it now!!!!
4.5 stars!
Rain and Wes are back, and now that April 23rd has come and gone and the world didn’t end as expected, they have to figure out what to do next as they face a whole new way of life. However, just because they didn’t die on April 23rd doesn’t mean they are suddenly safe. New dangers threaten their lives and push the hope for a future further from their grasps.
I love the Rain Trilogy and Fighting for Rain is an exciting, fast-paced addition to the story. It’s an emotional rollercoaster as Wes and Rain fight for survival once more, and just like the first book, it is unputdownable!
Nothing is easy in the chaotic world left over after the so-called apocalypse came and went, and Rain and Wes find themselves reminiscing about the past, surviving the now, and fearing the future. There is so much at stake but they can handle anything as long as they are together. And I love them together! There’s no questioning their strong connection or intense love because it feels real and it is easy to root for them.
“The only time I feel truly alive is when I’m kissing this man. He’s like a live wire—calm and quiet on the outside but a raging electrical storm within.”
Just when Rain and Wes think they find safety among other survivors, they face new threats. Things get more complicated within the group as well as between Rain and Wes. Obstacles get in the way of them being together and risk their lives further. It’s frustrating and maddening, and for a little while these two are pulled so far apart that you don’t know if they will find their way back to each other, and it is seriously distressing.
The emotion in this story is all over the place. Not only was I heartbroken over what these two have to go through to be together, but the pain of their pasts that nearly paralyze them is crushing. The fear is real, as is the confusion of what is happening around them. There are a lot of unknowns at the beginning of the book and when a huge truth is revealed, it’s shocking. I loved the twist and I can’t wait to see how the rest of the story unfolds.
Overall, Fighting for Rain is an addictive, intense, and suspenseful read that will keep you on the edge of your seat and leave you desperate for more because OMG, that ending! Dying for Rain com’t come soon enough and I am counting down the days because I need more!!
“Something clicks inside my heart. I feel it, like a fresh battery being snapped into place, and I realize that the aching, echoing hole in my chest—the one I’ve lived with my whole fucking life—wasn’t there because I was empty.
It was there so that Rain could reach in and fix me.”
