The world was supposed to end on April 23, but Rainbow Williams’s world ended days before that. The mass hysteria caused by the impending apocalypse claimed everything she’d ever loved. Her family. Her city. Her will to live.Until she met him.Wes Parker didn’t have anything left for the apocalypse to take … he’d already lost it all by the time he was nine years old. His family. His home. His hope … His family. His home. His hope of ever being loved.
Until he met her.
Brought together by fate and bound by a love that would last lifetimes, Rain and Wes were prepared to die together on April 23.
They were not prepared for what would happen on April 24.

Transported into a world in the midst of destruction and chaos, BB Easton has taken us into a post-apocalyptic atmosphere where 1/4 of the world’s population has been wiped out by panic. Lawlessness is the new order and survival by just staying alive is the new norm.
Rain and Wes are basically trapped in purgatory – or a mall outside of town. Rain is suffering severe anxiety attacks, but what can she expect, she’s lost everything and everyone and she didn’t expect to live beyond April 23rd. Living is harder than she expected.
Wes wants nothing to do with staying, he’s never stayed in one spot for long, but he wants to leave with the one person who’s come to mean something to him, Rain. Will he do it alone or will he stay?
Every sense, every emotion is heightened in this second installment of the trilogy.
The world may not have ended, but that doesn’t mean your life isn’t on the line. Can their love survive in this new world?
Easton’s writing is riveting and will keep you turning page after page after page.
How do I begin? Okay, this is me writing Praying for Rain and Fighting for Rain review because I got the opportunity to read the two without having to hold my breath. When I first read the blurb I was like okay the world is ending plus a love story this sound great. But let me say this” the world is ending” and it’s not just a feeling or an impression, but it real at least that is how I felt while being absorbed in Rain world.
This story is about people standing on two different edges, Rain knowing how love is and doing anything to have it and Wes refusing to allow that kind of feeling to overpower his mantra to survive no matter what.
The author creates a realistic possibility and have through the characters give us a glimpse on human behaviours when confront to extreme stress, situations or losses. Sometimes I had to reread the chapter to fully assimilate what occur or to even comprehend how or what had happened, my brains didn’t stop racing, through the events, sometimes mourning with the character sometime screaming with rage and most of the time being afraid of how things might turn out.
I had to go trough the motions of reading the last few chapters of Fighting for rain a few times, one to truly comprehend the events that had taken place and second still in disbelieve of that cliffhanger. I can’t wait to read the conclusion and when my heart stops pacing to go ahead and reread the whole trilogy just because.
OH MY GAWD. I need book three and I need it right now!!
ARC kindly provided. All thoughts in this review are my own.
I enjoyed book one… I devoured book two. I’m feeling all of the emotions right now. The entire thing was incredible but that ending… woo!
Fighting for Rain follows up right where Praying for Rain leaves off. I’m going to try to do this without getting spoilery. But if you haven’t finished book one then don’t read any further just in case.

Wes and Rain we’re headed off with a couple of friends at the end of book one and that’s where this book starts. Of course it doesn’t take long for problems to arise. Desperate, our characters take off to try and fix what they can. The past is still haunting. Old demons still plague Wes and Rain. New foes are found. New world order is in place and the world is still a dumpster fire.
I really bought into the feelings and emotions from Rain and Wes with this continuation. Things were even more desperate in this book. I loved all of it. I thought the pacing was spot on, and it moved the story along perfectly. Now I just need my hands on Dying for Rain. If you have not started this series yet then you really should because book three will be here on January 30 and you do not want to miss out on this unique story. I’m am still sitting here stunned by this bookBB Easton

How does she do it, every time? B.B. Easton knocked it out of the park with this follow up explosive read.
Book 2 gives us Rain (Rainbow) and Wes again post Apocalypse. Things go left when Rain learns someone she loves is still alive. This book does have a CLIFFHANGER but it’s so worth reading. Only makes you want more.
Will Rain and Wes work out their differences amid the mass chaos? Find out what makes this book so special and deliciously unique!
You will fall in love with Wes and feel the pull of desire he feels for Rain. 5 AMAZING thumbs up!!
*I recieved this ARC in exchange for an honest review *
Natural Selection What a turn this book made. I was so wrong when I thought I might have a clue what might be going on. This book is Trippy As Fuck. I have Carter omg Douchebag I thought he was typical Joke but hes so much worse hes a snake. Q I hope someone kills he honestly I hate her.
Wes poor kid Rain is turning his whole world upside down. He cant seem to live with her but also he can’t live without her. He’s so scared of her leaving he left to find she can’t live without him either.
Rain is losing her mind. She’s fallen into such a depression. She’s helping everyone to try to keep busy but reality is making its way in.
Stuck inside the mall is getting to be to much. People are starting to turn on each other. Only the strong will survive
“It’s the voice of the boy who left me behind. “Carter”
“I thought April 24 was going to be a new beginning. Turns out, its just the beginning of the end.”
“I had a dream a few nights ago that we were lying in Old Man Crocker’s field, and you made me a little engagement ring out of a blade of grass.”
“For the first time in my life, I thought about killing myself. If I hadn’t finally found your pulse, I was prepared to lie down right next to you and blow my own fucking brains out, so don’t tell me how the fuck I feel.”
“I’ll fight to keep you alive. I’ll fight to keep you safe. But I will never fight to keep you, or anyone, from leaving me.”
“We say fuck’em and survive anyway.”
“Every species on the planet is subject to the law of natural selection.”
“Because I’m too scared. Because I’m too sad. Because no one is trying to rape or rob me in here. Because nothing in here reminds me of home.”
“I wanted to make love to Wes. But it looks like the Ice King just took his place.”
“Wes isn’t showing me his brave face or his guarded face. He isn’t showing me his face at all. He’s showing me his fear.”
“God, you better be watching. I deserve some serious extra credit for this shit.”
“Fuck Rain for making me want to believe in shit that history has proven will never fucking exist for me.”
“Bear Done Got Me, Agnes! Git My Gun!”
“Sugar, We’re going down”
“If Rain wants to hold my hand for the rest of her life, I’l fucking cut it off and give it to her.”
“I’m ugly wrapped in a pretty package. But you…”
“You’re outside, fucking shit up like a little punk”
“Stay here your safe here.”
SUPPLIES, SHELTER & SELF DEFENSE…& LOVE
So, April 23 comes and goes…..and Wes and Rain are still here….and the world is still turning….And Wes is proven right in his belief of who is orchestrating the whole “end of the world” thing…..And to keep from spoiling anyone else’s experience of reading this book, let me say, you may or may not be surprised as to the reason why the elaborate hoax was created….Anyway, the world is now in a dystopian state of oppression, unrest, crime, and death….and it seems only the strong will survive….
And, then…, Carter, Rain’s ex-boyfriend…you know, the one who left her to die?? Yep….that one…he’s back…(p.s, I don’t like him at all)…and, naturally, he wants her back…..Obviously, they have so much history….and Wes said he would never fight to keep someone with him…..but Wes and Rain have so much chemistry and you can just feel their love….Wes never told Rain he might be the one to leave, to keep from being left……but that’s what he does….
Rain is left to fend for herself in the Pritchard Park Mall society…And, also, to fend Carter off of her….But Wes loves Rain, and he can’t stay away…And, just as it looks like Rain may be punished for her infractions to the new “laws,” a whole new twist unveils itself, and, now, all I want is for today to be January 30…I’m dying for DYING FOR RAIN…BB Easton is a master storyteller…..And this series. Is already on my Favorite Series List…
OMG this series is amazing! I’ve been eagerly awaiting this instalment after finishing Praying For Rain but I’m kinda wishing I now didn’t have to wait for the next book Dying For Rain, at least this time its not a few months between releases 🙂
I was on the edge of my seat with this one. With RL sucking at the moment I was able to completely immerse myself into this post-apocalyptic tale. It was filled with angst, love, fight for survival, it was everything!!
The connection between Wes and Rain is so much MORE. They found each other at their lowest but still managed to find some moments of happiness. They have to fight for their lives and their happiness, they are much stronger together.
Not quite sure what BB Easton has done to me! My heart is on the floor and I’m now wanting the next book but im also not sure I want this crazy, addictive journey to end just yet.
The world didn’t end like they said it would. The horsemen never came… but what did happen was even worse the new world is much darker than Rain ever expected. How do you live and continue your life when everyone you knew and everything that was your normal life is over?
Rain and Wes have to face new challenges and figure out how to live in a world that wasn’t to exist after April 23.
New rules new normals and new challenges happen once the clock strikes midnight and the horsemen don’t come…
Please know I am writing this review laughing manically while on the verge of ugly tears.
This review is going to be short because spoilers and also I am a goddarn mess.
I have been irrevocably in love with Wes and Rain and I don’t know how to stop. I probably don’t want to but after that ending Idk if my feelings will survive the way BB is smacking them against a wall. Like I love her dearly but the woman PLAYED ME TOO MUCH.
I love LOVE L O V E how we got to see Wes and Rain develop while their relationship was also developing. We got so see so many changing dynamics and it just hit every peak for me in terms of romance, emotions and mystery.
The whole post apocalyptic world and the threat of impending doom had me stuck to the pages barely breathing because I kept wanting more and more.
I don’t know what’s next and honestly thinking about it gives me anxiety so I’m just gonna wait for the next book and then decide if I wanna run to America and scream at BB.
After I finished reading the first book in the Rain Trilogy ‘Praying For Rain’, I was lucky enough to be able to start reading the second book ‘Fighting For Rain’ right after. The first book definitely blew my mind, it was just so damn good. So being able to start reading the second book immediately was definitely a gift.
‘Fighting For Rain’ starts rights where the first book ended. It’s April 23rd, the day the world was supposed to end and nothing happened. At least not right away. Rain and Wes are together and there are going away together. Away from all the bad memories. But, even though the world hasn’t ended.. It’s still definitely not a world you’ll want to life in.
Just as with the first book, I devoured this book. It was just so good I really needed to know what was happening so I simple couldn’t stop reading. After reading the first book I had no clue what was about to happen. In this second book with we get some answers.. but there’s still a lot we don’t get. And this read was definitely intense and keeping me sitting on the edge of my seat.
The romance between Rain and Wes was still very good. Their chemistry is just flying of the pages. And there were some pretty hot and intense moments between those too. But if you’re afraid it get’s to mushy and romantic let me tell you.. that’s definitely not the case. There are a lot of suspenseful moments!
I loved the first book, and I really loved the second book too. And I can’t wait to get my hands on book three. This book ended in such a cliffhanger.. I just have to know what is going to happen!!
The Rain Trilogy is definitely a must read!
Prepare yourself, Fighting For Rain is going to have you feeling pissed, helpless, and hopeful.
Why B.B. Easton gotta do me like this? I fell hard for Wes and Rain in the first book. Now it gets harder. Trying to survive, old friends become enemies, new enemies show up. It’s a fecking madhouse but I loved it. Even though I’m DYING for the next book.
Wes and Rain have it so much harder this book. I’m scared to see what will happen next. I loved every second of Fighting For Rain though, even while I hated it .
I need more
4.5stars!
I so love it when I get so drawn into a story that i can’t stop reading ! I CAN NOT WAIT for the last book to be released!
This one ends on a mother of a cliffy and I can’t wait to see how Rain handles their next chapter.
There’s not a lot to say without giving much away so I’ll just say if you loved the first book you’ll love this one! This story is full of action , and angsty gutsy young adult love , post apocalyptic craziness and was a very gripping entertaining read !
Highly recommended!
I feel like a giant shocked face emoji should be the only thing in this review. It’s crazy good… like color me impressed!! The talent BB Easton has for creating truly unique and unputdownable stories is remarkable. I loved Praying for Rain so much and was insanely excited for Fighting for Rain. Even though every time I read Easton I’m shocked with her ability to wow me, I still never thought I’d love Fighting for Rain as much as I do.
Wes and Rain are two characters that you will cheer for and hope that Easton doesn’t torture them too much… or at all! There isn’t a single thing I dont love from these books. It’s thrilling and fast-paced. It’s intense. But it’s hopeful and chaotic. It’s everything you could image and more when the world is ending and people are left with the fear or morality. The ending of this book had me nearly standing in outrage. How could Fighting for Rain be over? It was a whirlwind that I wasn’t ready for. I’m ready for the conclusion! Seriously, I have no idea how I’ll mentally make it through these next few weeks.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
So this book seamlessly picks up where the first one left off. I really enjoyed it. It wasn’t quite as action packed as Praying for Rain, but it was your quintessential second book in that it sets everything up for the final book.
We get to see how the aftermath of April 23rd affects Rain and Wes mentally. It’s really interesting being inside both of their heads because in Praying they were both hoping/waiting for the end because they were both prepared for their own versions and now that it’s completely different they’re confused on how to proceed in life. The emotions, the hang ups, the insecurities, the fright all start as soon as it sinks in. I really enjoyed reading about how they both dealt with that.
I won’t give anything away so I can’t comment on settings or people, but suffice it to say that I am definitely looking forward to book three. ESPECIALLY after that last chapter! I am SO happy it’s coming out so close to Fighting’s release. Trust me, you will be, too.
The end of the world came and went, Rain and Wes are still alive and learning to adapt in the aftermath of April 23rd. In a way the world did end, the world everyone knew because a new “normal” is in place throughout as everyone gets back to their lives or what is left of them. Fighting for Rain is less action packed than book one but not at all less exciting.
I started Fighting right after I finished Praying, there was no waiting for me I needed to know what happened next for Rain and Wes. In book 2 we get to meet a few characters from Rains’ past that could threaten her future with Wes while she also struggles with her anxiety and fear of the past and what is to come. With the world in chaos Rain clings to the familiar even when it isn’t the safest or smartest choice. This leads to a bit of a riff with Wes while he struggles with him own past demons when it comes to loving and being loved.
BB packed this book with emotion like only she can. I was lost in the post-apocalyptic world of survival how ever you can. Rain and Wes have so many personal issues based on their past that it can cloud their present and potentially ruin their future, both with intense triggers and trust issues even though each just wants to be loved and cared for. That internal struggle is displayed beautifully and thoughtfully. I am on the edge of my seat for Dying for Rain. I need it ASAP!

If you have read ‘Praying for Rain’ then you know that we were left with a massive cliffhanger right on the day after the apocalypse. As a fan of this trilogy, I was anxious to find out how Wes and Rain would survive this crazy new world.
So, it’s after April 23, and the apocalypse has completely changed the world Wes and Rain once lived in. Wes’s survival mantra is now a necessity in this nightmare they now live in. But while their world has changed, their inner struggles are still the same.
Wes is still a bitter, angry man who is so mistrustful and scared of love, real love that occupies not only his mind but his soul. I have to say that I fell more in love with him in this story. There is just something about this character that grabs at my heart. His will to survive has held both Rain and himself together, but now Rain must find her own strength, her own need to survive. She is still a fragile fighter, an emerging warrior behind her fear.
I have to say, this story is everything I wanted and more. The cliffhanger is the only downside to this story and I’m telling you this cliffhanger is massive! I hope there is an HEA for these characters.
Fighting For Rain is so well written that I could feel the bleakness and fear, and taste decay of death on the deserted streets. It’s a fantastic read filled with despair, angst, love, and survival. I love Rain and Wes. And that cliffhanger! Yikes! I can’t wait for the final part in this brilliant series!
Ohhhh book 2 in this series, what have you done to me??? I love a good dystopian society romance and BB has done a phenomenal job with this trilogy to date! What would you do if you knew the date the world was going to end? What if you did everything you ever thought you would do before dying, but then on the day the world was supposed to end, it didn’t? Well April 23rd came and went and now that it’s April 24th, Rain and Wes now have navigate together through the mess that is left after the world didn’t end, when chaos surrounds them.
BB has developed and designed this post- apocalyptic world so in depth that I truly found myself immersed in it and questioning everything around me. Her words have a way of doing that in every book I’ve read. She is gifted with the phenomenal world building ability so many lacks. I can vividly see every word like I am there with Rain! I feel all the emotions Rain feels and I can’t wait for the conclusion on this trilogy. Thankfully I have only a few days to wait before the conclusion, so I am very appreciative the publish dates are not too spaced out. Now, on to reclaim my own sanity as I wait for their conclusion!
Ahh, this series! I can not get enough of it! The first book Praying for Rain was one of my 2019 favorites and now this one! This one is definitely going to be a 2020 favorite. I read this book in one day. There are so many layers to this story line and depth to these characters! I love Wes and Rain.
It’s so hard to write a review on this book without giving it away. It picks right up where the first one left off and just goes from there. I had to keep reading to find out what happens. It gives you all the feelings, my heart was just racing reading this book. I never would have thought I would love an apocalyptic love story so much, but B.B. Easton has crafted such gripping and entrancing story.
I’m so glad the next book is releasing very soon, I’m waiting on pins and needles for it!

Wtf did I just read!!!
I mean, I honestly didn’t think it couldn’t get any better then Pray for Rain, but Easton literally just hit it out of the park!!!
And let’s talk about that ending!! I literally had to pick my jaw up from the Floor!!! I can not even form proper thoughts right now to right this review that’s how amazing this story was.
It picks up exactly where Praying for Rain ended and it flowed effortlessly. The growth and struggles you see in both Rain and Wes, as well as the introduction of other characters help gives the story extra depth and helps you see a different prospective.
To wrap this up all I have to say is “Dying for Rain” can not come fast enough.
