A larger-than-life firefighter inspires a career-driven woman to live in the moment—and trust in the power of love—in this flirty, emotional novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Searching for Harmony. Finn Ward has two passions: being a firefighter and being single. Although his parents are constantly nagging him to settle down, Finn just wants to enjoy himself while he’s young. … enjoy himself while he’s young. Then, at a union meeting, he meets a gorgeous lawyer with a dazzling smile—and suddenly, settling down doesn’t sound so bad.
Rory Adams is fresh out of law school and looking to make a name for herself at her mother’s firm. She doesn’t have time for silly games anymore. But when she catches the eye of a dashing fireman who makes her body tingle from across the room, something instantly ignites between them. The only problem? Her father is Finn’s boss.
Their relationship turns both of their lives upside-down. Rory tames Finn’s wild ways, while he shows her that life can’t be all work and no play. But it’ll take some serious determination to keep their love secret—and real courage to admit the truth.

Fighting for Love is absolute perfection. The banter, love, and emotion is exquisitely crafted in a way no one but Kelly Elliott can do.
Finn is one fun, fresh, fantastic firefighter!
I absolutely loved Fighting for Love the second book in the Boston Love series! Fighting for Love is a wonderful love story, filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions and I could not put it down. I loved every moment on every page. Kelly Elliott definitely did not disappoint her readers with all the feels in Fighting for Love and has once again delivered an amazing story filled with everything that I have come to love about her books. She has once again provided her readers with the amazing characters, that I have come to love and expect in her books, they feel like family! Who doesn’t love hot sexy men, strong, passionate females, loving families, and caring friends, who always support each other? Kelly Elliott continues to deliver all that and so much more. One of my favorite parts of her books is how she incorporates the title of the book into the love story. I also loved all the amusing sub-titles for each chapter. I am not sure how she does it, but Kelly Elliott has once again given her readers another remarkable book. Fighting for Love is filled with all the heartbreaking and heartwarming moments and plot twists, that I have come to love and expect in a Kelly Elliott love story, I especially loved the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Once again Kelly Elliott has proven that she is an incredible story teller. I love that she writes her stories in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting inside their minds and knowing their thoughts and how they really feel. Fighting for Love is a love at first sight love story. My favorite moments in Fighting for Love are the lighter moments where I found myself smiling and laughing out loud. I also love the parts that pull at my heartstrings and cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. Fighting for Love is filled with such moments and so much more. Fighting for Love is the story of Rory Adams, a lawyer and daughter of Finn’s boss and Finn Ward, a firefighter. Rory and Finn meet at a union meeting, where Finn has fallen asleep listening to Rory’s father speak. Rory and Finn unexpectedly run into each other in the park, but Rory has promised her father that she would not get involved with a firefighter. Rory and Finn begin spending time together, they become closer and things change between them. Finn has told his family about his relationship with Rory, but Rory does not tell her parents, since Rory already knows how he feels about Rory dating a firefighter, especially Finn. Another favorite part, was that I loved that Finn and Rory knew each other as children, even though neither one of them remembers it. When he was little, Finn told Rory’s dad, that one day he would marry his daughter. A heartbreaking plot twist changes things for Rory and Finn she runs away. I also loved, Flash the fire station dalmatian and his interactions with Finn and Rory. I love that no matter how destroyed Finn was with Rory, he did not stop fighting for Rory’s love. Fighting for Love was an amazing love story, I am so glad that the plot twist is resolved and that Rory and Finn got the happily ever after that neither one realized they were looking for. I loved all the surprises that filled the pages of this love story. I love the changes that Rory makes in her life so that she can be true to herself and not let her parents run her life. I love the changes that Finn was willing to make in his life, to have a life with Rory. My favorite part is the ending and how it goes above and beyond the happily ever after. I loved Finn’s proposal and the location where it took place. I love all her characters in this book, and I love the descriptions of the settings. I loved catching up with the Ward family, it felt like a gathering among close friends. I loved the ending and how Finn’s and Rory’s dreams come true. Fighting for Love is an incredibly written love story and I loved every moment. I was slightly disappointed that Wes and Angie did not get their own stories in the Boston Love series. Highly recommend this beautifully written story.
Where to start. Finn was a firefighter, he loved what he did, he was confident, sexy and had no problem with the ladies. Rory was a sexy Lawyer following in her Mother’s foot steps, she was married to her work. So when they set eyes on each other at a Union meeting, something changes in both of them. What do you do when one look at her and Finn starts feeling things he never though he would. This relationship has many hurdle to cross and a big one is Rory’s father and Finn Boss. Do these two have the fight in them to let Love win or will Finn’s past come to haunt him. Will Rory let her father rule her life. I was sucked in this story and read till the end. Amazing story.
This book is about Rory and Finn and is the second book in the series. I really enjoyed reading this book. I liked that Finn was a Boston firefighter and that the whole book was set in Boston.
I enjoyed this follow up to SEARCHING FOR HARMONY. I loved all the “silly” things about Finn and Rory’s story. For instance, Finn falling asleep during the meeting where Rory is introduced and Rory’s dad holding a grudge against a little kid! I’m very glad to hear there will be more books to come in this series.
Another must read from Kelly Elliott!!
Fighting For Love was incredible! Finn and Rory were fabulous to read about. Their relationship was not easy. They had their issues and struggles to overcome, however, this showed just how realistic the book could be. They weren’t perfect, they had to adjust their ways, and it wasn’t idealized. It was raw and so beautiful!
When you simply look at the romance and flirtation, Kelly Eliott has nailed it! It was so cute and romantic, that I wish I had a guy like Finn in my life.
I have read and loved every single book written by this phenomenal author, and this novel is definitely no exception!
5/5 Stars!
Seriously, this book is too cute…or at least the ending was!
But I’ve been told cute is a bad word, according to Finn, handsome is better. Not really sure that applies but go with it!
Rory is the daughter of a lawyer and a fireman. She is a lawyer. She meets a fireman. There has always been one rule her father handed down- NO FIREMEN! No dating, sexing, or marrying firemen. None. Nope. Nada. No Way. Not in a million years. Not on a box, not with a fox… You get it?!
So what’s a overly controlled her whole life girl to do, run. Run the other way from the hot firefighter begging for a date. It’s completely normal to turn down someone that you are so wildly attracted to. It’s a legitimate reaction to run from what your daddy says is the devil.
But when the naughty smile, gorgeous eyes, and seductive voice of said devil are all you can think about…Maybe, what daddy doesn’t know won’t hurt him?
Maybe…But not likely!
A relationship being hidden has all sorts of warning bells but when you know…you know.
A sweet and charming tale Fighting For Love had me at hello.
Finn and Rory define immense chemistry and sizzling passion.
I fell in love with Finn, and Rory could have been my best friend! I’m a sucker for ‘secret love,’ angst, and passion! I adored Fighting for Love!
Fighting for Love is a swoony, sexy romance that I couldn’t put down. You’ll quickly make Finn Ward your newest book boyfriend!
4.5 Stars!!
I absolutely loved and adored Finn and Rory’s story. I was completely swept up in their love 🙂
Fighting For Love is the second book in Kelly Elliott’s Boston Love Series. These books are standalone novels with interconnecting characters. With this series I believe it is possible to read these books out of order, but it wouldn’t be my suggestion. We see a lot of Preston and Harmony (from Book 1) in this story, that I think you should read their story first and then continue on with this book. The storylines are different and not continuing but I feel reading this book first would take away from Preston and Harmony’s story.
I think this book is one of Kelly’s longest books to date. Which is a good thing and a bad thing in my opinion. I loved Finn and Rory so much I didn’t want their story to end, but there was a time around the 60%-70% mark that I felt the story fell off track. Kelly had the story going one way and then we lost that until closer to the end of the book. I also felt that there was some things I felt weren’t finished or answered (Rory’s dad and Russell) I was left wondering what happened with these two characters, or I guess I wanted more out of their storyline. I think had some of the filler around the 60-70% mark had been left out, we could’ve gotten all the answers I was hoping for. I know this is confusing and vague but I don’t want to explain it anymore because it could spoil something.
I will say the one thing that took me by complete shock and was so different from a Kelly Elliott book, was who the “villain” was. Usually we see a nasty ex come into play or a jealous hag who won’t take a hint, but in this one I actually disliked Rory’s father to the point that I wanted to hit him!!! I have never disliked a parent in one of Kelly’s books, she usually gives us the parents everyone wishes for, well not in this one. I couldn’t believe how much anger I had towards her dad. He went too far in my opinion!!!!
As I said before this book is about Finn and Rory. Finn is a firefighter and Preston’s (book 1) brother. Rory is an attorney and the daughter of Finn’s Captain at the firehouse. When they first see each other there is an instant attraction and both wanted more. Now their relationship was not without it’s challenges. These two have some serious hills to overcome. Can Finn make Rory see their love is worth fighting for??? How far will Rory let her parents control her life?? Can she finally stand up for herself and go for those things that make her happy??? Read this book to find out those answers.
I enjoyed getting to know Angela (Finn’s sister) and Wes (Finn’s Brother) better in this book. I also liked some of the other characters we were introduced to in this book. Rory’s friends were great!!! I can’t wait to see where she takes this series and what the books to follow will be about.
I would recommend this book to anyone. It had everything you look for in a Kelly Elliott book!!!
I love this author recommend it!
a little raunchier than I like. didn’t finish it.
