Where do I begin?
This series is going to RUIN me, no two ways about it.
I love the characters, I love the setting and I love the story running through all 4 books.
This time, it’s Declan’s turn to go back to the place of the brothers’ nightmares. But for Declan, there is more than just one reason it’s not a good thing. Sydney. His forever girl that he gave up 8 years prior when he made his escape from Sugarloaf.
Despite being the oldest and the most surly, Declan is a tortured soul and one that can’t help but be stuck in the past no matter how much time has passed. Knowing his heart beats only Sydney you can’t help but scream at and shake your kindle in the hopes he hears your pleas to go to Sydney.
She’s not moved on – not from him, her home or her life in Sugarloaf despite her family all moving away years prior. She just can’t let go and upon his return, she tried desperately to keep a tenuous grasp on the past and her love for the oldest Arrowood brother. She gives him chance after chance and he just doesn’t get the memo.
What follows is edge of your seat, can’t look away stuff. I was on the edge of my seat reading the second half of this book. If there is one this Corinne Michaels can do is give you one hell of a twist!!!
My heart went out to Sydney and Declan as they fought their way back to one another from fighting each other to fighting themselves it was one emotional journey and one I was glad to have a front row seat to.
And what a set up for Sean’s book!!!
OH, and the cameo from my beau Milo….HEAVEN!!
Fight for Me
I have to say I really love the Arrowood Brother’s! I still don’t have my favorite picked yet because we still have 2 more brothers stories ahead of us however- I absolutely loved Declan & Sydney’s story!!
The love, chemistry and the angst in this story captured every bit of my soul!
The love these two had for each other from the time they were kids and through their years of separation.. I couldn’t wait to see what their 6 months would be..
Worth every emotion Corinne pulled out of my heart! From laughing to literally sobbing!! Phenomenal Story!!
I can’t get enough of these Arrowood brothers!!
I was captured from the first book in the series. And I couldn’t wait to read Declan and Sydney’s second chance romance story.
Corinne Michaels wrote a beautiful story about a second chance love that will steal your heart. It was filled with so many emotions and feels. Their past plays a major role in all their stories but it’s their story of healing that you will feel in your soul.
“I love her more than anything in the world, enough to let her go.”
Childhood sweethearts and couldn’t have been more in love with each other, readers are introduced to Declan and Sydney. Believing nothing would ever tear them apart soon Sydney is proven wronged. Declan breaks up with her and leaves town for good without looking back.
Until now. . . and Sydney unable to move on or understand why Declan left in the first place maybe now is the time for answers. Now that he’s back in town. . . let the angst begin.
“This is a love that’s strong, been through hell, and has found its way back to heaven. We’ve battled and won. She’s the prize. She’s everything.”
Fight for Me tells their story and it is fantastic. I just loved getting to know them and see their love resume and grow. Their chemistry and love cannot be denied but can Declan disregard his past and family secrets for the one he truly loves?
I love a good second chance romance and I can’t get enough of Corinne Michaels writing. It truly warms my heart when there is history and seeing the characters overcome obstacles from their past and grow together to rekindle their romance. This book had it all!!
Fight for Me was such a win for me and I can’t wait to read more of the Arrowood brothers. Looking for an emotional, steamy, and angsty read, check this one out!
***I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book provided by Valentine PR & Literary Management and Corinne Michaels.***
Fight For Me is the second book in the Arrowood Brothers series and features eldest brother, Declan, and his lost love Sydney. Both characters were introduced in Come Back for Me (book 1, Connor)
For most of Fight for Me, Ms Michaels broke my heart a little bit more with each chapter. The angst, frustration, and heartache Declan and Sydney were dealing with radiated off the page. I loved that even with all the baggage between them, there was also a magnetic connection between the two that wouldn’t let them stay apart. These were characters that I rooted for, even when I wasn’t sure what the right path was for them.
Technically a standalone, Fight for Me is very heavily connected to Come Back for Me, especially given how small the secondary cast is. This is such a strong read, I think it could be enjoyed in its own, but reading the books in order will add to the experience. I am definitely excited what happens with the 2 middle Arrowwood bothers!
Fight for Me by Corinne Michaels is the second book in her Arrowood Brothers series. The long-awaited angst-ridden story of Declan and Sydney. Childhood best friends, high school sweethearts, destined to be together, forever until one fateful night changes everything for the Arrowood brothers. Declan breaks off his relationship with Sydney, denies loving her anymore and leaves Sugarloaf with plans to never return. But once again, their father, even in death, is making things difficult for his sons. When Declan’s six month term is due for him to live at Sugarloaf for that length of time, as each of the brothers must, in turn, in order to be granted their father’s land according to his will, he cannot help but put himself back in Sydney’s company. Something she tries to avoid as best she can but the spark between these two is painfully powerful and like magnets, they are inexplicably and unavoidably drawn to each other time and time again.
Powerful and emotional, filled with all the heartache they both have endured over the years they were apart, add to it Declan’s refusal to explain the “why” of his leaving to Sydney, his refusal to leave for good, and their connection… Gah! So strong! Loved It! I cannot wait for Sean’s story next. Enjoy!
Sydney Hastings had her heart broken by Declan Arrowood eight years ago. Her dreams of getting married and having his babies died when he breaks up with her to leave town unexpectedly. He thinks he’s protecting her — all she knows is that her heart is broken and Declan has vowed never to return to Sugarloaf where Sydney is in charge of the family farm, among other things.
Declan does come back, and their first time alone, old feelings get the best of them and then bam! Everything gets more complicated, and Sydney ends up nursing a broken heart a second time.
If you’ve ever read this author before, you know she puts some very emotional moments on the page. While I found this to be only a one tissue story, there are certainly some heart-wrenching moments in the second half of the book.
Fight for Me is a second chance romance that has a few twists and turns for the characters, and I have to say that I did like Sydney. I hadn’t read the first book in this series, and I will admit that this story made me want to read more. It’s mostly predictable, and a very quick, emotionally charged story about love, trust and going back home that kept me reading until the end.
An ARC was provided. This is my honest review.
I think that all these Arrowood Brothers are going to kill me with their pain… Seriously… Since I read the first book I couldn’t wait for the next one to be released and man it was good.
Declan and Sydney were childhood sweethearts. But when things in Declan’s family went haywire he left. He left everyone behind, even the love of his life.
Now years later after his father’s death he’s come back home. And when he sees Sydney its like nothing has changed on both sides. He still loves her. But now things has changed. Both have been hurt in some way and even though they still love each other, its not easy. Getting over past hurts and trusting each other. Things aren’t just tough with Sydney, but he has family drama and family secrets and will love be able to heal everything or will it be another thing trying to tear them apart.
I was rooting for this couple from the start. I was frustrated with Declan in some parts and just wanted to scream at him to suck it up dude. There was so much pain for both of them to overcome but when fate has destined you to be together so strongly, it wont be denied. I am hooked on this series and cannot wait for the next brother to find his happily ever after
I’m not sure how Corinne continually does it but she seems to top every book she puts out.
“A true second shot will split the first arrow and create a solid path.”
Talk about second chances and how this blew it all out of the water. I’m in love with Declan and Sydney.
They are both so strong willed and hard headed. They both know of to get under each others skin but know when they’ve gone too far. The love that has never gone away even though they have both tried. Ugh this book is just so perfect! I just couldn’t put it down but didn’t want to finish it because I didn’t want it to end.
If second chance love stories is your thing, you need to grab this one ASAP!
4.5 Stars
Dear lord the emotional ride I went through while reading Sydney and Declan’s story. Just when I thought I’d breathe easy, along came another emotional punch that’d knock me out. It wasn’t easy, but what this story put me through was well worth it in the end.
Eight years. It’s been eight years since everything Sydney once wanted walked away, he took her dreams with him when he left and never looked back. She’s accomplished so much since then, but there’s still that void that’ll never be filled. Sydney has endured so much, but it hasn’t defined her. If anything it’s made her stronger and a fighter. I loved Sydney and how courageous she was. I loved how she fought tooth and nail for what she wanted, even if it was an insurmountable battle.
Declan Arrowood broke my heart. Always the protector and taking care of the people he loved he made an excruciating decision that would irrevocably change his life and the life of the girl he’s ever loved and breaking both their hearts in the process. He’s spent years punishing himself for the sins of his father and denying himself happiness. I hurt for him and what he was putting himself through and I just wanted him to realize he was nothing like his father so he could finally have the happiness he rightfully deserved.
Syd and Declan were written in the stars. From a very young age their hearts knew they belonged to each other. Even after years apart they never stopped loving each other. There are so many things to be discussed, mainly why Declan left all those years ago. Syd needs answers and then maybe finally she’ll have the closure she seeks. Syd and Declan’s journey is a fought battle, one that is soul consuming, achingly heartbreaking, and beautifully heartwarming. These two touched my heart and I absolutely loved them.
Fight for Me is a second chance romance with an abundance of emotion. Syd and Declan’s story tugged at all my heartstrings. I loved getting back to Sugarloaf and getting more of these rambunctious Arrowood brothers. I can’t wait for more of this incredible series.
Miss Michael’s broke me and then she put me together again, I fell in love with these 2 humans since chapter 1, it was an incredible and difficult second chance at love, but so worth it, if you’re looking for a story that will punch you in the gut, make you cry and surprisingly laugh then this is the story for you! I need more Arrowood brothers now!
When it comes to small town and second chance romances no one does it better than Corrine Michaels. Her stories are always heartwarming, sexy, passionate and intimate. Fight For Me checks every box for me.
I enjoyed Declan and Sydney’s story so much that I devoured it in within 5 hours. Seriously couldn’t put it down, that’s how great it was.
The journey these two take, was gripping from the very first scene, page after page the story got better and better.
Declan the protector of his siblings, he had me from the first book and in this book, he captivated me.
Sydney sweet Sydney this girl and her heart!!! I swear she had me in tears be it from an emotional moments or the funny things she said.
Bonus points for the point, new character Milo, he was very funny. I can’t forget there’s more of the cutest little girl Hadley
AMAZING! Declan and Sydney’s story was amazing! I love everything about this book! Corinne Michaels is one of my all-time favorite authors! Fight for Me is book two in the Arrowood Brothers Series, and it’s my newest favorites! This book has ALL THE FEELS – and I loved every second of it! From beginning to end this book is pure perfection. I love second chance romance – and this is one of my top faves! FIVE STARS!!!
5++++++++++ stars for me. I loved this book so much! I pretty much read it in one sitting! I would not put it down! Such an amazing second chance romance! This one gave me all the feels! Corinne will break your heart and then put all the pieces back together. I love this series so much! I cannot wait for the next book!! I would definitely definitely recommend this book!! A definite must read!
Received an arc for an honest opinion.
Absolutely loved this second chance romance! The second book in this series features Declan Underwood and his childhood sweetheart, Sydney. Tragedy broke them apart and years later they find themselves brought back together. This story was amazing from start to finish and fans of Corinne’s other books will delight in seeing some old friends pop up in this novel.
NO SPOILERS!
Fight for Me was amazing and I loved Declan and Sydney’s sweet, sexy, angsty, emotional, and swoon-worthy second chance love story!
The storyline was great. Declan and Sydney’s journey was anything but easy, and there was a lot of heartbreak and hardship along the way, but everything was oh so worth it in the end. Corinne Michaels gave me the beautiful happily-ever-after I so desperately wanted for Declan and Sydney, and I was very pleased with the outcome.
The characters were wonderful. I loved Declan and Sydney, despite some of their personality traits at times, and thought they were perfect for each other. Declan and Sydney were both stubborn and gave each other a run for their money, but they were truly meant to be together. I also loved the secondary characters and enjoyed their addition to the story, especially some of the familiar faces from Come Back for Me (Arrowood Brothers Book 1).
Corrine Michaels delivered a sexy, angsty, swoon-worthy, and emotional standalone second chance romance with Fight for Me, and I loved Declan and Sydney’s story! The Arrowood Brothers series is shaping up to be another MUST READ from Corinne Michaels, and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for Sean and Devney’s story in The One for Me!
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
The Arrowood brothers are back in Sugarloaf and it’s Declan’s turn! I’ve been itching for this story since the end of Come Back for Me and I am so excited that it’s finally here.
Declan and Sydney’s second chance story tore my heart out! Declan’s need to protect her, Sydney’s never-ending love. Each and every scene has so much feeling, so much intensity, that you can’t help but keep turning the page, wanting more… needing more.
I love second chance romance stories, especially when there is so much angst and heartbreak involved. Declan had a lot to make up for, especially considering he knew what Sydney had gone through and the promises he had made. And his redemption is so beautifully breathtaking.
Five stars for this beautiful second chance love story that will have you feeling all the feels.
This is the 2nd book in this awesome series and is Declan and Sydney’s story. When Declan left town Sydney was left heartbroken, and now he is a successful businessman who returns to his hometown. Sydney is determined to stay clear of Declan but the attraction between them is undeniable. This is a beautifully 2nd chance romance story which is heart-breaking, emotional, steamy and a heart-warming all consuming tale which had me captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I highly recommend for all readers.
I love a good second chance romance! Fight For Me was such a beautiful story about young love, heartbreak, and realizing what true love really is. There was a depth of emotion that I really enjoyed in this story. It made the connection with the characters that much stronger. I thought the story developed nicely. The beginning was a little slower for me but really picked up nicely. And made the story hard to put down. I thought the characters were really great! I eventually became really invested in their story and needed to know what was going to happen and how it was going to happen. Overall, it was a great story! And I loved reading about another Arrowood brother getting his happily ever after!
I’m sure you have read Come back for me and know the incident that caused a domino effect with the arrowood brothers.
The most effected is Declan being the oldest and having so much weigh on his shoulders. The only one who had real love and had to let it go vowing to never love again.
Until he sees the happiness in Connor and sees the love of his life again. All the feelings start coming back but Declan still feels unworthy of love and happiness.
Sydney loves hard and has never given up on Declan, she knows the love they have just doesn’t disappear, it just doesn’t go away. Until she turns the tables and someone needs to start fighting for the other.
This series has been so good and I just can’t wait for Sean story next!
