Fight for Me

Fight for Me is an emotionally driven second chance romance between childhood sweethearts, Declan Arrowood and Sydney Hastings. After reading Come Back for Me, I knew I needed their story. Heartbreaking yet hopeful this book definitely took me on a whirlwind full of emotions. I’m not even going to pretend I didn’t have tears streaming down my cheeks. I mean of course I did. It was a Corinne Michaels book after all.

Declan and Sydney have an undeniable connection. It’s very evident how much they love each other; even after so much time apart. While I enjoyed most of their push and pull, it became a tad bit frustrating how long it was taking for them to figure their situation out. It started becoming repetitive. However, this didn’t take away from the passion and flow of the story.

It feels so good being back in Sugarloaf. I am seriously loving these Arrowood men. I can’t wait to read Sean and Devney’s story next.

She had me at second-chance romance!

Gosh, this book ruined me in the best of ways. I knew Sydney and Declan would rip my heart out, but I wasn’t at all prepared for them. These two are obviously meant to be together, and are so engrained in each other’s souls, but because of Declan’s misguided intentions, they just can’t *be.*

Declan hasn’t had an easy life — and that’s an understatement. When he and his brothers lost their mom at a young age, the father that was supposed to be their protector turned into a monster. Each brother was horribly abused, both physically and emotionally, but it seems that Declan had it the worst. As the oldest brother, he was the Arrowwoods true father figure, and oftentimes put their wants and needs above himself. His only piece of heaven came in the form of Sydney — his longtime friend turned lover — and even though they are so young, he just knows that they are meant for each other. But one decision derailed his entire future, and two hearts paid the price.

Eight years later, Sydney still feels the loss of Declan. She can’t wrap her mind as to why they were planning their futures together one minute, only to have him walk away from her the next. When he he comes back to his hometown where Sydney still lives and works (She’s a badass lawyer, owns the family farm, AND volunteers) you see that these two are fighting a useless fight. After reconnecting in an unplanned way, Sydney tries to do everything she can to make the love of her life see that all he ever wanted is still in front of him.. all he has to do is fight for it.

As per usual, Corinne put me through the emotional ringer, but I don’t think I’ve ever cried so hard while reading one of her books. That twist had me fearing the worst, wondering which direction this evil genius would take us in.. I was crying so hard I could barley see my kindle. I won’t spoil anything for you lovely readers, especially since there is SO much more to the story than I’ve shared with you, but just be prepared to go on one heck of a journey. This is by far one if my absolute favorite books if hers.

We also get to see a beloved character quite early on, and I legit screamed when I saw who it was!!! I love the way Corinne ties her books together!

Please read this book as soon as you can.. It’s so much more than a second chance romance. It will tug on your heartstrings, take a piece of your soul, and will have you begging for more.

Declan is a broody and broken hero (MY FAVORITE!).
If you love second chance and small town romances GET THIS ONE!! It’s a tear jerker and angsty and you’re going to love it!

I am a sucker for second chance romances and I love the Arrowood Brothers. There is just something about them that keeps me wanting more. I was so happy to be back in their world and I devoured this book. Declan and Sydney have loved each other for years and just can’t seem to move on from each other. They also can’t seem to get on the same page. Their story is full of love, heartache, and history. You just have to read this one and experience how it all unfolds.

We’re back in Sugarloaf, and once again Corinne made me cry! She’s so good at that!

Declan Arrowood and Sydney Hastings are first loves. He left her suddenly one night eight years ago, and if you’ve read Come Back for Me you know why. As much as she’s tried, Sydney has never stopped loving Declan. Their story is a constant push and pull of love and hate and feelings, and surprises, I really enjoyed this one!

“I’m not breakable, and I don’t need you to protect me, I need you to choose me.”

Fight for Me is supremely angsty, and one hell of a slow burn (in my humble opinion), and I ate it up! Steam when it needed to be with a beautiful story and supreme character development, Corinne once again gave me a story that I’ll love for a long time with a great segue into Devney and Sean’s story!

This book can certainly be read as a standalone but in my opinion you should really read Come Back for Me as having the full back story will make it soo much better. The Arrowood Brothers were sadly lead astray by their father after the loss of their mother. This book is about Declan and Sydney and the hope for a much needed second chance.

Sydney has only over loved one man and that man crushed her heart 8 years ago. He was her everything and had picked up her pieces since the day her daddy left them. But even with all the heartbreak and loneliness she still kept forging ahead. Becoming a lawyer and taking over the family farm. Doing everything she could to keep the memories alive. She was the only one that didn’t realize she was holding on to Declan in the only way she could.

Since that horrible night and the fear of hurting her more because he just might be like his mean abusive drunk father, Declan has not looked back. Working hard to have the career that he was meant to have. Thriving at his business and staying as far away from Sugarloaf as possible. So stubborn and determined that he could never have the love that still holds strong in his heart.

When Sydney and Declan are suddenly in each others back yards again, it is hard to resist. The chemistry pull and the old feelings are always there. When he sees her struggling, he just wants to make it all better. Could these two give in and let themselves try for a second chance, or will the raw hurt from the past keep them apart? Will Declan finally show her the fight to get her back?

I am loving the Arrowood brothers and all the baggage they carry. Let’s face it, a broken man is just sexy as hell. Ms Michaels makes you feel like you are part of the small town following these characters and all that is going on. I look forward to the next book.

ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I’LL READ THIS YEAR!!!

Fight for Me by Corinne Michaels is the second book in the Arrowood Series and can be read as a stand-alone. This second chance romance will sweep you off of your feet and have you falling in love with the characters from the very first page.

After meeting Sydney in the first book, I knew her story was going to be unbelievably good-and I was so right. She is smart, successful, and seems to have a pretty decent life. But the one thing she’s been missing-is the piece of her heart that she gave to Declan a long time ago. He’s been her everything-until he wasn’t. His scars run so deep. Will they be able to find a way back to each other?

Everyone knows that I am a huge Michaels fan but Holy WOW-this book was phenomenal! It was full of emotions-so much so that I had to put it down a few times to collect myself. To be honest, I loved that it made me feel every single one of them. It made Fight for Me one of the best books I’ll ever read from Ms.Michaels.

Declan and Sydney were a new favorite for me! You normally don’t get a heroine that is true to her heart from the get go. She has endured loneliness, heartbreak, and in a way some independence. Now that Dec is back to stay on his father’s land, memories are dug up and emotions are in high drive.

I loved this story. I loved that Syd wore her heart on her sleeve and was not afraid to let Dec know what she needs. Besides the secret she keeps from everyone, she is an open book. I loved the fact that she saved her secret for Dec and Dec only.

This story brought life back and I could not stop reading this book. I would count the hours to get out of work just to return to this book. Fight for Me is real and raw! I can never get enough of the Arrowood Brothers <3

A truly emotional romance!

I loved Declan and Sydney’s story so much. After meeting them both and learning a little of their story, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on their book. I knew, being a second chance romance, that this would be emotional yet I still wasn’t ready for how deeply emotional it got.

They have both been through a lot and have never been able to move on from each other. Watching them deal with everything in their path was emotional, beautiful, steamy, and full of true love. Their road to a happily ever after is the furthest thing from easy but sometimes the pain is what gets you to the best parts.

I am so in love with these Arrowood brothers and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next installment.
