Second chance romance at it’s best. Pain from past brings these two back together. Will it be enough to last? Can they find forever with each other? HEA.
I am always patiently waiting on Corinne Michaels books. They all will make you cry and than put you together by the end of the book with HEA. So here we are with Declan and Sydney, the two peas in a pod.
They were perfect for each other, but like any other of Corinne’s male characters he thinks what is doing is best for Sydney instead of talking to her about it. And that is what drifted them apart and that same thing brought them together too. So while reading this book I felt like smacking some sense in Declan but I laughing at his own expense. I loved them and Corinne Michaels’ writing. She is definitely talented author. I can’t wait to read more from her. Most definitely worth more than 5**********
Death by swoon…that’s a thing, right? Legit, these Arrowood brothers just might be the death of me. I think the best part of this series is that you don’t just get one brother. You get pieces of all of them and they are like little (ahem BIG) presents from Corinne! I love how these brothers call one another out on their crap. Throw in some strong, beautiful women and watch these boys fall to their knees…LOL!
I love Declan and Sydney’s story! It was heartbreaking knowing all the years the lost due to something that happened in the past. Declan was only trying to protect Sydney, but what he doesn’t understand is, he doesn’t need to. Sydney is strong and brave and is more than capable of taking care of herself. These two legit can’t be in the same room without setting it on fire. It is clear they are the missing piece of their soul.
Corinne Michaels is always a one-click author for me! Her words give me all the feels and Fight fro Me is no exception!
Love the Arrowwood Brothers! While this story can be read as a stand-alone, Declan and Sydney’s story takes off where Come Back For Me left off. Declan has to return to the family farm and dreads his return because Sydney, his first and only love is there. Declan only plans to stay in Sugarloaf for six months and each struggle with feelings for one another that are still there.
Corinne is one of my favorite authors that never fail to take the reader through a roller coaster of emotions. Love Declan and Sydney’s story and anxiously awaiting Sean and Devney!
I fell in love with Sydney Hastings when I was ten years old.
At sixteen, we whispered promises of forever.
When I was twenty-two I broke them all. I left her and promised never to return.
Loved this second book in the series, great chemistry between the characters with a very emotional story line that really show’s just how much and for how long being a child in an abusive home sticks with them and can have a huge effect on their emotional future. This was a great read.
If you love Corinne (who doesn’t?) this one checks alllllll the boxes:
– Second chance romance
– Broody/Broken hero
– Small town family saga
– Surprise pregnancy
– Angsty
– Tear jerker
Check it out!
“I want you—all of you. I want the broken parts and the loving parts, the ones that are afraid of me and the ones that will fight for me”
Ohhhh – these Arrowood brothers, stealing my heart with another beautiful love story of redemption and forgiveness, proving that sometimes our first love is truly our forever love. Sydney and Declan’s story definitely hit me right in the feels with the truth that running from heartache never heals our soul it only prolongs the heartache. Second chances don’t come easy, we have to fight for what we want even if that means going against every promise we made to ourselves to protect those we love.
“A life without love isn’t living, it’s just existing and you were destined to live.”
After Declan broke her heart by walking away from her 8 years ago, Sydney had given up on love, the fear of getting her heart broken again was real and she wasn’t ready for that ever again. Yet even through all of that pain, it was clear she still loved Declan, that deep seated love from from their childhood couldn’t be squashed by time or heartache. Her open honesty with how she felt for Declan over and over again was refreshing and I liked that she never wanted him to question her love.
“Your past is muddy and filled with pain, but you have something in the future. A beautiful possibility and a woman who, despite everything, still loves you with her whole heart.”
Secrets and lies from the past had ruined any chance there was at happiness, so for years Declan had been punishing himself for the sins of his father and he wouldn’t let himself be happy, no matter how much he still loved Sydney. Always the protector for those he loved, it broke my heart that Declan would rather deny himself happiness than accept and realize he was not his father. Fighting for their forever love through the up and downs and surprises that life throws at them, their journey to happily ever after was a perfect second chance romance.
This is the second book in the Arrowood Brothers series. Declan and Sydney have been in love since they were kids. Her father deserted her when she was a child. His father was abusive and caused much havoc in Declan’s life. Something devastating happens to Declan and his brothers, and while trying to protect Sydney, he breaks her heart by leaving her and their hometown. Now, eight years later, he has to move back to his hometown and the temptation of being around her is too much. He has a secret that he’s not ready to share, and so does Sydney. Their story is very emotional and well written. Very much looking forward to Declan’s brother Sean’s story, which is up next.
A great continuation of the Arrowood brothers story. Declan has to stay in Sugarloaf for 6 months
to keep possession of the family farm. He left the love of his life Sydney Hastings 10 years ago.
Sydney now an attorney has never stopped loving Declan but knows it is a lost cause. The story is
told from both POV and is entwined with the other Arrowood brothers. Corinne Michaels, brings
you into the lives of brothers from the first page. It is a heartfelt love that neither can deny but
after so many years neither Declan nor Sydney think they have a second chance. The audiobook narrated by
Sebastian York and Andi Ardnt brings the characters to life.
Fight for Me is a stunning love story that captivated me page after page. This second-chance romance is powerfully inspiring, emotionally raw, and breathtakingly romantic. An unforgettable masterpiece delivered with so much heart and soul. Declan and Sydney are meant to be together. While their attraction and chemistry is undeniable, it’s their intense connection that makes them beautiful together. Their connection is just as strong as it ever was. The pull to each other is irresistible and undeniable. Two broken souls each yearning for that missing piece that makes them feel whole again. How they fight for one another is breathtaking. With every page, I fell deeper in love with the characters and their epic story. The storyline is incredibly well-written and flowed seamlessly. The twists and turns are a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Oh, the emotions — I could feel everything the characters experienced; they radiated from the pages. I laughed, cried so many tears (happy and sad), felt the butterflies, the heart palpitations, every ounce of pain and all the joy. The heartfelt moments stole my breath and the heartbreaking ones shattered my heart. Oh, and those swoon-worthy moments left me breathless! This book has all the feels!! A powerful and poignant story of love, faith and forgiveness that I didn’t want to end. The unconditional love and support of family and friends is beyond words. The wisdom interlaced throughout was inspiring. I absolutely loved every second of this breathtaking story and it is definitely my favorite of Corinne’s books. Fight for Me is one of my all-time top reads. I highly recommend reading this incredible love story!
This second chance love story had all the feels! You could feel the love and connection between Sydney and Declan. Although Declan made me want to pull my hair out with his stubbornness, it was such a relief when he finally fought for what he should’ve in the beginning. I can’t wait for Sean’s story!
Corinne Michaels is one of my go-to authors. I have devoured everything that she’s written! Fight for Me is the second book in her Arrowood Brothers series, and I absolutely loved it!
Declan and Sydney were high school sweethearts, and had their future planned out. But because of family circumstances, Declan breaks up with her and leaves. For the next eight years. After his father’s death, he must return, and face not only his past, but Sydney and the way that he left.
I loved both Declan and Sydney. I felt everything that they felt throughout the story! I loved their chemistry and just how hard they fought for each other.
I highly recommend Fight for Me~ and I cannot wait for the next book in this series!!
Corinne Michaels out does herself with every book that she writes. Her hero’s are all usually swoony, hot, sweet, alphas and Declan fits all of these PLUS SOME.
He does everything that he can to protect those he loves and I mean everyone. Declan loves with his entire soul and it breaks his and Sydney’s heart when he walks away. In his heart and mind he is not good enough for Sydney and is protecting her from who he thinks he will become.
Love, love, loved this second chance romance. Was it an easy road back to happy, no way in hades. Declan and Sydney are both put through the ringer while trying to find their way back to each other. I just hope we get to see a little more of them in the next book, because I wasn’t ready to let them go.
BEST Corinne Michaels Yet !!!!!!
Ive been desperate to get my hands on the second book in the Arrowood Brothers series. Each brother has found a special place in my heart already. This story is a small town second chance romance for Declan and Sydney. They were best friends growing up, then it turned into more. But something happens that causes them to part, and break promises that were made.
We get to see them reconnect as adults and make their relationship bloom.
Theres so much angst within the story at the beginning, you feel it through the pages. They are like to magnets drawn to each other, they cant seem to stay away.
I cant wait for more of this series and Corinne Michaels words!
Sydney and Declan have been in love since they were kids. But, after the unthinkable happens to the Arrowood brothers, Dec tells Sydney it’s over and leaves Sugarloaf for good.
Years later, Sydney has a life, but she isn’t living. She’s never gotten over Declan. And, now that Declan is back in Sugarloaf for 6 months, thanks to the stipulations in his father’s will, he knows he isn’t over Sydney either.
What follows is about as angsty as you can get. They want each other, but Declan believes he can never be what Sydney needs . . . that he isn’t worthy and pushing her away is for the best. And Sydney is the complete opposite. She isn’t complicated. She knows exactly what she wants, as has always wanted, a family with Declan. But how can she convince a broken man he is all she needs?
Let me just say that this book just about broke me! The push and pull between Declan and Sydney is super emotional and heart wrenching. There is so much baggage between them it feels insurmountable at times, but then their relationship seems so easy at others.
All Sydney wants is for Declan to choose her and to fight for her. And, when she finally runs, will Declan finally be willing to chase her? And, if so, will Sydney be able to admit she has been caught and trust that Dec won’t leave her again?
I’m telling you now, grab your tissues for this one, because you are going to need them! This 2nd chance romance left me an emotional mess and gave me all the feels at the same time! Simply fabulous! 5 stars!
Another great book. This is the second book in the Arrowood brother’s books. It is Declan’s turn to return home and spend 6 months in his home town and he is going to have to deal with Sydney. Declan and Sydney had been together since childhood until he made the decision to protect her and leave. Neither have ever gotten over one another but can’t seem to figure out how to move forward. This was a great and emotional second chance romance. Definitely worth the read!
This is Book 2 of The Arrowood Brothers Series.
This is the story of Declan & Sydney. Declan is a financial advisor in New York. He is originally from Sugarloaf. Sydney became a lawyer and is a volunteer EMT in Sugarloaf. They were high school sweethearts. They were in love. Something bad happened with his father, who mistreated him and his three brothers and he had to leave and swore he would never come back. Now Declan is back after eight years. His dad made a stipulation in his will that each of his four sons must live on the farm for six months, then they can do what they want with it. He still thinks he is unworthy of Sydney. They still love each other. They are half of each other’s whole. This story is a mix of so many emotions. I can’t even begin to tell you how great this story is. So many things take place. All I can say, is please read. You won’t regret it. Kudos Corinne Michaels for an exceptional story.
I always love reading a CM book. The small town love story will suck you in any time you read one. While I enjoyed reading about Declan and Sydney’s love story, I am also not as excited about it. Sean and Devney’s story sounds plenty interesting and I hope to read it soon. Regardless, Corinne Michaels is one of my favorite authors and this book showcases her love for small towns.
4 STARS
I feel like I have been reading a lot of second chance romance stories lately, but that’s okay because I love them! In this case Sydney and Declan have a HISTORY. We learned a little about them in the first book of this series, but of course in this one, we get all the missing information. And it’s a lot.
Sydney and Declan have a lot to work through. Once upon a time, they were in love, but then he left Sydney and never looked back. And he only came back to town because his (dead) father made him. It’s obvious that they still have feelings for the other person, but it’s a matter of working through the past in order for them to even be around each other.
When I read one of Corinne’s books, I know that at some point I will be crying. Whether it’s my eyes welling up or I’m sobbing, I know I will cry. And at one point during this book i was outright ugly crying. Whew. Talk about emotional. Corinne really goes for the jugular in this one and that’s all I will say about that.
I’m looking forward to the next book in this series. It’s a friends to lovers story and that’s another trope that I love. Bring it on!
I love a good second chance romance and this one is fabulous. So much angst and hope and happy and sad and just all the things needed to make you feel! Declan and Sydney had their whole lives planned out, until the bottom fell out. Now, they are back in the same space and their chemistry has not diminished one single bit. I wanted to beat both of them, especially Declan, on numerous occasions, because they are both so strong-willed. But they are perfect for each other. And it takes a near-miss for them to realize that they’ve wasted enough time.
This is another win from Corinne Michaels and I can’t wait for the next installment. Also, the surprise appearances were awesome. 😉
