Fight for Me is a moving story of epic love and second chances. The oldest Arrowood brother, Declan and Sydney Hastings have been friends since they were kids and in love almost as long. When Declan suddenly lost his mother in a tragic accident, he was forced to take care of his younger brothers, and Sydney was always there right by his side. They were each others firsts, and were making big plans for their future that included marriage and kids together. But when tragedy strikes again, Declan makes the decision that he believes will protect everyone he loves. That night all the Arrowood brothers leave town, vowing to never return. For eight long years Sydney’s heart has been broken, not knowing why Declan left her behind. Now Declan is back to the place he never wanted to return to, and that holds so many haunting memories. But it also has many good memories with Sydney as well. Because he doesn’t plan to stay, they both vow to stay away from each other, which is impossible to keep for either of them. Their magnetic pull is too great and the push and pull between them is powerful and passionate. They try to be friends for the sake of their family, but are both so stubborn, I just wanted to shake some sense into them both at times! Declan, has to learn that he isn’t in this alone and he is deserving of happiness and love. Sydney is the strength he needs, and the home he craves. But when Sydney finds out a secret, she is about to run from all she knows. Now Declan must decide what is worth risking it all, and worth fighting for. It was so much fun catching up with Connor, Ellie, Hadley, Sean, and Jacob. I love the fun scenes between the Arrowood brothers. They give each other a hard time but they also support each other unconditionally. Michaels brings us such vivid characters, and a story that is completely captivating. She really had my heart racing as she had me see-sawing between happiness and breathtaking sorrow. At it’s core, this story is about whether or not love can truly conquer all. It is about our ability to forgive unimaginable hurts and trust enough to put love first. I really enjoyed this emotional and passionate story about healing, family, and second chances at love.
I’m finding it extremely hard to put into words how much this book MEANS to me, how much I LOVED this book and how much this book hit me with ALL the feels! Declan and Sydney’s story is a second chance romance that had me smiling, laughing and crying……so many tears! I without a doubt did not want this story to end, I tried to savor each and every word reading as slow as possible which was not an easy task for me. This story pulls you in and consumes you mind, body and soul! Corinne once again has enamored us with her words and given us a storytelling masterpiece that will definitely be one of my TOP READS this year!
Wow! The angst is real in Declan and Sydney’s second chance storyline. Their love for each other is palpable, yet secrets are holding them apart. Another great read and full of emotions. A must read in this series.
If I had to live out a childhood romance to get the second chance like Declan and Sydney have, I would absolutely do it!
This story had me from the first page. I didn’t want to put it down and couldn’t release these two from my thoughts. Even now, days later their love story is still with me.
Corinne has a way of bringing us into the world of her characters’. Whether we live in the small city, or we’re best friends with the main characters, we become invested and attached to them. This is the true gift of an amazing story teller! Once again Corinne has achieved it with Dec & Syd’s story
Grab the tissues folks!!! These boys!!! These damn Arrowood Brothers are going to be the death of me!!!! I don’t even know how many times my heart broke for Sydney and Declan. Declan is so broken and afraid of becoming his father that he walked away from his one true love and soul mate. Meanwhile Sydney has never gotten over the boy she loved and promised her forever too. This story is full of so much emotion you can’t help but feel it in your bones as you read it. Corinne is a master at absolutely breaking your heart and putting you back together at the end. I am SOOOO ready for Sean!!!!
Ahhh… Declan and Sydney’s story . I’ve been waiting for this one since the last book . It was everything and more then I expected . In one word Captivating . This story will suck you in . Give you all the feels , angst and a push and pull so magnetic you just know Declan and Sydney are meant to be together. But that doesn’t mean it’ll be an easy road . Once again CM delivers an amazing story and her writing just makes you FEEL !
Fight for me is the second book in The Arrowood series but can be read as a stand-alone .
Epic! I think he’s my favorite brother! Actually I kn this, this is the kind of love any couple should want! It sucked me right in and didn’t let me out
Corinne writes some of the most heartfelt and gorgeous romance there is. She knows how to tug at your heart strings. Every time I go into one of her books I feel like I have to mentally prepare myself for the heartache but the good thing is…I know she will always put the pieces back together again.
After reading the first Arrowood Brothers book, I was dying to dive into all the rest of the brothers books. They are all so different but all come from such a hard childhood. But they all know leaving Sugarloaf was the best thing they could have ever done. Even if it meant Declan had to break the heart of the only girl he has ever loved.
“She was like sunshine in our darkest days. We had shelter when we were near her, and we craved it.”
Sydney has never forgotten or forgiven Declan for leaving. He was her everything and she was his, or so she thought. But years later he’s forced to go back home for six months after his fathers death and it’s the absolute last thing he wants to do. But when Sydney sees him all those feelings she’s been cramming down for years come bubbling up and she wants nothing to do with him. But in a small town it’s hard to avoid someone especially when you’re practically family.
“I see her. I feel her. I know her in my bones, but I won’t be able to be who she needs.”
These two have had a lot of pain and heartache in their life. Declan has hardened his heart over the years, letting in no love and still hanging onto the past. Sydney knows Declan is her one weakness but she won’t fall for him again. Not when he broke her heart. Declan wants a second chance but he knows he can’t be everything that she wants. And Sydney just wants him to fight for her but she isn’t sure if it’s the fight he’s prepared for. But the funny thing about love is that it has a funny way of creeping back in when you least expect it.
“I want you – all of you. I want the broken parts and the loving parts, the ones that are afraid of me and the ones that will fight for me.”
Sydney and Declan are two broken characters that find themselves in each other. But both are too stubborn to admit it. I couldn’t put this book down y’all once I started it. I couldn’t stop reading but I also didn’t want it to end. Their love and the story Corinne has written is so beautiful. I love when characters have a huge character arch in books and you can see their progress leaping off the pages. Such a gorgeous read, that I highly recommend. Grab that wine and get to reading!
At first I thought this was a “been there, done that” book. But then last night I was up late trying to finish it because I wanted to know what happened (btw I didn’t make it)! After the cliffhanger in Come Back for Me with Sydney, I was looking forward to reading about the oldest Arrowood brother, Declan, and Sydney. I wanted to slap Declan upside the head multiple times during the story! That’s the great thing about Corinne Michaels and her writing…her characters are always so real and flawed. When I saw the title of this book I thought for sure it was about Declan fighting for Sydney but by the end I know it means more than this. Overall I really enjoyed this book! I loved Sydney and the strong woman she is. And Declan drove me the right around of crazy then redeemed himself just a little by the end. What was different about this book was that by the end all the issues weren’t just suddenly resolved. Both main characters still acknowledged they had to work on some things and they were ok with that. And now that this books ends with some tidbits about Sean and Devney I can’t wait for that best friend romance!!

Do we ever really get over our first loves? For Declan and Sydney, the answer is no. What I loved about this book is that they never tried to hide their feelings. They were upfront with each other that what they had between them, which started as kids, never went away. You can feel the emotion between them as they try to fight away things from their past to try and see if they have a future together. Second chances hit close to my heart, and Corinne Michaels tells their story in a beautiful way. The Arrowood brothers are lining up to be my favorite Corinne Michaels series. Between the small-town feel, a great group of characters and all the feels, this is a must read.
Fight for me is a standalone, second book of the Arrowood brother’s series. This one is a heartwarming second chance romance between Declan and Sydney. The back story of the Arrowood brothers is that they grew up with a d**che bag alcoholic father. The brothers made a pack that they would leave Sugarloaf and never return. When their father died, he left a will with a stipulation that all brothers must live on the ranch for a time before they can sell it. Given this history (the theme), Declan is the second brother who left his woman behind. Declan and Sydney were childhood sweethearts since they were 10 years old. They have their life all planned out so when Declan left without any real reason Sydney was blind-sighted and heartbroken.
Since Declan came back to town, Sydney was forced to face the love of her life again and all feelings came rushing back. She never quite gotten over Declan. Her head knows she should stay away from the man that can destroy her, but her heart has a mind of its own. The chemistry between these two are undeniable, burning bright despite nearly a decade passed. The angst and anguish they both feel from fighting the attractions. There are still hurt feelings and unresolved issues. I think Declan is in total denial – some of the things he said was hurtful, not purposely but misguided reasons to protect Sydney. Nonetheless, his words and action continue to hurt Sydney. Sydney’s life is getting complicated by the day and with the unprecedent situation she found herself in, the only thing she wants is for Declan to realize everything he ever needed is back home in Sugarloaf. Can Declan overcome his family past secrets and fight for the one true love? Hold on for a quite a bumpy ride. Fight for Me is a very emotional and angsty read full of FEELS. Heartfelt second romance. Beautifully written. Next up Sean and Devney.

Fight For Me is the second title in the Arrowood Brothers series. After both Sydney and Declan featured in Come Back For Me, I was eager to read their story, and see them find their happy ever after.
Whilst Fight For Me is a heartwarming story, it’s also quite heartbreaking and very emotional and riddled with angst. This is a story of choosing to fight for the ones we love, even if you don’t feel deserving of their love. Declan and Sydney’s story will literally break your heart before it’s put back together again.
Sydney and Declan were childhood sweethearts, and best friends, they were each other companion, confidante, basically the shelter in the storm during their difficult childhoods. Both are incredibly complex and strong willed characters, yet also completely captivating and endearing.
The chemistry this pair share is undeniable, and they are inexplicably drawn to each other, even after years apart. This pair have a fair share of ups and downs and at times their stubbornness and secrets seem to get in their way at every turn, and honestly at times I wanted to smack some sense into them.
I loved that Ellie, Connor and Hadley who appeared in Come Back For Me, featured strongly throughout this story, I loved seeing more of Milo from If Only I Knew, and cannot wait to see Sean and Jacob find their happy ever after.
Fight for Me was everything I never knew I wanted in a book! Declan and Sydney were such incredible characters on their own but when they are together it was like sparks flying of the page. I was so excited to read about Declan because he seemed like the more series and set in his ways Arrowood brother I wasn’t sure where his story was going to to lead us. The flash backs we get of him with his father and brothers really brought more to light of why and how Declan is the way he is always the protector. Sydney was so strong and fierce and always doing everything she could to move forward after everything Declan put her through. These two deserved a happy ending after everything. I cant wait to read whats next with these Arrowood boy because we all know that its going to lead to some pretty amazing things!
I was warned before I started Fight for Me that I was going to need tissues……..yep, I totally needed them. Declan and Sydney’s heartbreaking and beautiful second chance at love packed one heck of an emotional punch – it truly gave me ALL the feels and I loved every minute of this breathtaking story!
I was hoping that Declan would come to his senses sooner than he did and realize that he deserved all the happiness in the world and come clean with Sydney about what happened in the past……..but he was just too stubborn to listen to anyone and didn’t see a way forward with her. It broke my heart every time Declan pushed Sydney away, especially knowing she would forgive him for anything because she never stopped loving him. But when he finally realized he was going to lose her forever…….cue the swoon factor for what he did for her. Declan knew she was making a mistake, and he was finally starting to fight for the love between them…….but hopefully it wasn’t too little too late.
I know I said it already, but I really loved this story!! It was incredible and will definitely be one of my top reads of the year. Can’t wait for Sean’s book next!!
Second chance romance at it’s absolute best! Declan and Sydney’s story is a true soulmate romance that we all dream of having.
4.5 stars!!!
Second chance romance has always been one of my least favorite tropes, but when certain authors (such as Corinne) writes them then I can’t read them fast enough.
These Arrowood brothers are just DREAMY and I can’t get enough of them. I was smitten with Fight for Me from the start. And it wouldn’t be a Corinne book without tears, but I love her for it!!! The little crossovers will make you squeal in excitement. I know I did!!! I’m soooo ready for Sean’s story next.
This Second chance romance will have you feeling all the things! I love that it wasn’t all Sunshine and roses… it was real and the way Corrine Michaels wove her way through this story was fabulous!
Fantastic book with lots of feels…prepare yourself for lots of tears. Declan and Sydney will tear you apart…but it a fantastic, almost overwhelming way…if you love second chances, your heart will break for them as they find their way back to each other. I did not want it to end because it was just that good. You must grab this one ASAP…and lots of tissues too 🙂 Cannot wait to see where Sean’s story takes us next…swoon, swoon, those Arrowood brothers with the captivating eyes 🙂
Second chance romances are some of my absolute favorite reads; I’m all about the hero and heroine sharing a history that lends credence to all of the feelings they have in the present, despite not seeing one another for a rather lengthy amount of time. And in Corinne Michaels’ newest Arrowhead Brothers’ story, Fight For Me, Declan Arrowhead and Sydney Hastings will hopefully have their second chance to be together, after having known each other since they were teens and forming a bond that was supposed to be unbreakable and everlasting, but unexpectedly turned into a goodbye, destroying everything they had built with not a single word of explanation.
It’s difficult when any relationship ends, but without any real discussion between them, Sydney has spent the years since Declan’s departure, finding her own path, establishing a career, moving forward as an adult, but keeping her personal life stuck in the past because the way things ended between her and Declan had no closure, which means that all of those feeling and memories can never truly be resolved or put to rest because they’re stuck in a purgatory of sorts, making it impossible to move on.
Like all of Corinne Michaels’ stories, Declan and Sydney’s story has all the feels – it runs the gamut of emotions: from anger, frustration, and heartache to sympathy, hope, and forgiveness. It’s not easy to come back in to someone’s life after leaving them behind without any warning or explanation, which means that in order for these two characters to have their happily ever after, they have to deal with the past, put it behind them, and focus on what’s ahead. But that’s easier said than done, so as their story unfolds, Michaels illustrates the struggles, the setbacks, and the unresolved/messy feelings that could lead to a second break up instead of a chance to be together again in the way that they still wanted, even when they were apart.
4.5 Poison Apples
Declan the oldest Arrowood Brother is back home to fulfill his duty living on the family farm for six months and he wants out as quick as he can. He left Sydney to protect her and he is fighting his feelings and trying to avoid her. Sydney never stopped loving Declan and she fights to keep her distance. Love all the Arrowood family great small town romance. Oh the tears and bringing back some favorite characters. Love Corinne’s work Cannot wait for Sean’s book.
