New York Times Bestseller, Pepper Winters, brings a new Dark Romance Series to life. This is the final book the multiple USA Today Bestselling Romance, Goddess Isles!
“There was a beginning once. A beginning that started with being sold to a monster I fell for.
There was an ending once. An ending that came cloaked in bloodshed and fury.”
Eleanor Grace is a simple mortal who has the power to … simple mortal who has the power to topple a god. She captured his heart, fed him a different future, and fought for a fantasy that wasn’t make-believe but destiny.
Sully Sinclair is a man masquerading as a monster. He let down his shields and allowed a goddess to show him a simpler path. However, neither of them could predict the war that was coming, nor the toll it would take.
A fated romance.
A fight that will finish in tears.
The age-old battle of good versus evil.

Awesome series ending with plenty going on!
I don’t know about everyone else, but sometimes when I get to the last book of a series about a couple and what happens is that the beginning consists of wrapping up whatever cliffhanger ended the last book, and then there is three quarters of a book that is somewhat of a sappy happily ever after. I end up getting sort of bored and skimming the rest of the book despite loving the HEA.
That did NOT happen in this book even though it was the fifth book in a series about two people in a relationship. That speaks to how well Pepper Winters can write romance. This book had a lot going on with both Sully and Jinx. I really enjoyed the strife, the setting and everything that happened.
This book had more of my two favorite parrots, Pika and Skittles. The island setting and their antics truly added to every scene they were in and make me really want to live in the tropics and have some parrots. Actually this entire book had me wanting to move to the Goddess Isles and live there forever. What a great getaway this series was! I just loved every minute.
I call this a series ending even though two more books are planned because it truly was. Pepper Winters describes at the end of the book that the two following novellas are separate even though technically a part of this series. They also contain people from some of her previous series but you don’t have to read those in order to enjoy these two novellas. I can’t wait to read more and I plan to read the other series as well (at some point).
This book includes Tess and Q in a few scenes. They are from the Monsters in the Dark series (I will probably re-read that again as well at some point). But I remembered it enough to be happy that they were included especially since Eleanor/Jinx met Tess for a bit when they were both abducted by the same sex traffickers, and both of them fought against being stolen in their own ways. So that was a nice addition to this story.
This was another book where the relationship between Sully and Eleanor was super steamy. I give this book 5 flames out of 5 () because it was so hot! I don’t want to give anything else away, so I will wrap up with saying that if you like captive romance series, this is one you have to read. It really was great.

What’s this book about? (I’m trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
This is the final instalment of the Goddess Isles series by Pepper Winters. You must have read the previous books to read this one.
What a series! Pepper Winters had me engaged from the get-go. The characters had their ups and downs, maintaining a rollercoaster ride throughout the books. The drama peaked in this book. It was a fast-paced read with tension ALL AROUND. Characters weren’t playing around. The antagonist truly stepped up, proudly displaying his evil. Eleanor showed her resilience, her tough side, this time around, more so than ever before. I rooted for her so much.
The world Winters created ended here, but I will remember it as one of the finer literary worlds of Dark Romance! Damn, these islands.
There was so much hopelessness in this final book! I’m incredibly sad that it’s come to an end. Pepper Winters truly outdid herself. The messaging throughout the story was incredible although I did miss Sully’s symbolism with animals and humans a bit in this part (outside of Pika and Skittles). I wished that a played a more integral role in Fifth A Fury, but given the circumstances of this being the final book… I GET IT.
I recommend this to all fellow animal lovers/vegetarians/vegans (WE’RE GETTING A SEAT AT THE TABLE, Y’ALL! High school bully, who?), complex heroines with big hearts admirers and lovers of tortured trust-issues leading men with big… islands amongst other things.
Seductive, addictive, and unforgettably soulful, Goddess Isles is everything you love about dark romance and dangerous alphas. The strength of the heroine shines throughout the series, and especially so in the final book as she holds everything together, proving it takes a mighty woman to mend the heart of a possessive, stubborn antihero.
This series is a powerful, delicious escape. Nonstop suspense. Sizzling from beginning to end. I highly recommend.
5* Fierce Love Stars
I was sad to know that the exhilarating journey I took with Sully and Eleanor was coming to an end. Their story was everything I hoped for and more! Along the way I fell in love with these characters that were dark and disturbed, fierce and kind. Pika and Skittles won my heart from the first time we were introduced, I loved this addition to their story.
I am so happy that I waited for the series to be complete before reading all 5 books as I would not have survived the cliff-hangers at the end of each book and the ride this series took me on, it was a rollercoaster on steroids!
Thank you Pepper Winters for bringing us this epic series filled with imagination, love and a great balance of dark and light!
Series Review:
What a conclusion conclusion to this exotic and enthralling story of a fantasy peddler and his latest prize. This is Pepper at her best- sensual, devastating, entrancing, and unforgettable. Heart pounding, heart breaking, and heart uplifting until the very end.
Like so many Pepper stories, the journey begins with a kidnapping. But, this is world unlike any we’ve ever seen- exotic, erotic, imaginative, and sensual. Our heroine Eleanor is abducted and sold to our anti-hero Sully by traffickers- transported away to his private island of sin (and cute animals) where she’s forced into an owned woman contract of prostitution, taking an elixir that consumes her mind and body. Despite being entirely powerless and at the mercy of a corrupt and depraved man, she’s no weakling- she’s got fire and strength in spades, and finds her power in subtle ways. And soon she starts to find some power in her dynamic with Sully- the man she should abhor but who somehow has become the man she burns for.
The setting is unlike any other we’ve seen- Goddess Isles is a tropical haven for rich and depraved men, a place where they can fulfill their darkest fantasies with owned goddesses- women high on the mysterious elixir that makes them burn for their tormentors. And Sully is the lord of the island, the purveyor of paradise. And Eleanor was supposed to be just another acquisition- another goddess to add to his menagerie. As this series unfolds, though, we see that Eleanor can never just be his possession- she challenges everything that he thinks he knows, that he has made. With each book, we get deeper into the man that is Sully Sinclair- what has led to this hard, ruthless, arrogant, and possessive man. And that is the magic of Pepper Winters- a man who for all intents and purposes is a monster, we find ourselves drawn to him- just as Eleanor is- against all reason. At this point in the story, we now see the vulnerable and lonely man beneath the bravado. The man Eleanor begins to expose, the man that she can perhaps heal if he’ll just let her. Only now that we’ve begun to explore a dynamic of them being in love, Eleanor is at risk from more than just Sully. And Sully will do anything to have her, save her, possess her heart and protect her from all danger. She’s saved him with her fiery and beautiful heart, but can he be the man she needs? And together can they defeat the evil they are facing?
This most certainly is not a series for the faint of heart- the premise of the series itself should tell you there are dark and triggering elements. The last leg of this story is BRUTAL in places, and your heart will hurt. The chemistry is straight FIRE- intense, erotic. Peppers write erotic and sensual dark romance like no other – you know you are going to get some HOT steamy times, passionate couplings full of unbridled passion and conflicted emotions. Raw lust, explosive intensity, and so many heart wrenching emotions combined.
By the end of the first boxed set, you’ll be desperate, frustrated, enamored, and heartbroken- Sully and Eleanor have a long road ahead, and you know that it will not be easy. Their love is a veritable hurricane, and the storm is still raging. But it is a story that is enthralling to the very last, an epic love story full of passion, pain, heartbreak, and redemption. My favorite work from Pepper to date- the ultimate dark and depraved but stunningly beautiful fantasy!
If you thought first four books took your breath away, this one STOPS it altogether.
Suffocatingly Angsty & achingly Yearning love story reaches its finale with Fifth A Fury. Time to wage the War!
The title says it all. the ferocious Fury unleashed with beastly brutality was both vulgar and gratifying.
as a reader I celebrated it like a guilty pleasure.
The predominant emotions were Shock and stupor. Hate and horror. the elusive HEA was within my fingertips reach marking my heartbeat to a dangerous level. Throughout the book my heart was in my throat, my eyes weeping and heart bleeding. I was trapped in this nightmare along with Eleanor & Sully, hanging by a thread, unable to let go.
“IT WAS LIKE BEING trapped inside a monochrome kaleidoscope. A tumbling, refracting kaleidoscope that was all blacks, greys, and shadows with no escape.”
It was too much…just give them a break Gawd!!!
The earth beneath their feet just gave way and they fell spiraling downwards, leaving him hanging by a thread. A thread of Jinx’s touch. That was his only tether, his life line.
“This wasn’t just a string. It was a rope. A rope made of affection,”
This entire series has been a Rollercoaster ride, flying high on lust and passion, lowering to despair and betrayals and this culmination of dreadful climax was plain torturous on my heart. To see your beloved characters aching and hurting took a toll on me as a reader too.
Sully Sinclair’s survivor tenacity and never-say-die spirit, which was tested beyond human endurance limits. All through the agonizing term Eleanor grew in stature and prominence. The Goddess crown shone brilliantly and she fully owned it!
“He’s a god ruling his own version of heaven and you, my dear friend, are his chosen goddess.”
Heavy lies the head that wears the crown though. Her shoulders bogged down at times with the iron- heavy onus of making life & death decisions. Her gait collapsing, her spirit exhausted but her spine stood ramrod straight cause everyone depended on her!
Pepper lets us leave the islands and travel towards to real world filled with Cruelty and madness. The stark contrast was necessary to validate Sully’s mission of setting his empire on the reclusive Goddess Isles. The ending will surprise you with some old revisits and new turn of events
Yet another successful, twisted story of dangerous love from Treasure trove of Pepper that will blow your mind. This is her comfort zone, her territory where she’s the undisputed queen and she’s spinning the tales as fast as we can read them. cannot wait for more adventures that she takes us on
5 stars for The Final Checkmate
Picking up right where the last book left off, Fifth a Fury started things off with a twisted and deliciously questionable bang. How on Earth were Sully and Eleanor supposed to get their happy ending when someone so evil was so desperate to keep them apart? Well, if you know anything about Sully, you know to never say die. This man doesn’t give up. He lets ever slight, ever slur, ever piece of disrespect and dishonor fuel his fury. A broken body can’t slow him down. Nothing and no one was going to keep him away from Eleanor. Not even certain death.
As much as Sully saw himself as a monster, it was Drake who showed us what true evil looked like.
Drake wasn’t predictable because he operated outside the usual parameters of human psyche. He had no switch inside to prevent him from doing terrible things, no empathy to stop him from hurting others, and no rationale to reason with.
Screw Drake.
Sully and Eleanor. Cal and Jess. Even Pika and Skittles won my heart. The Goddess Isles read like a saga that explored the journey of finding a deep and abiding love in the most unconventional ways. From Eleanor’s resilience and fortitude to Sully’s black-and-white view and his eventual redemption to the glorious landscape that set the stage for this series, I fell helplessly in love.
I was nothing. But I wanted everything. I deserved nothing. But I needed something… Her.
I was in love with Sully’s ideals. In love with his brutality in defence of those who couldn’t fight. In love with his devotion to Eleanor and his willingness to be vulnerable to her and to see her as more than worthy. In love with Eleanor’s brave attempts at survival, peace, and then the boundless love she found in the midst of such depravity. In love with the side characters, the cameos, the imagery, the hopes, the dreams, the everything.
So yeah, saying I absolutely adored this series would be accurate. It’s dark and dangerous featuring a scrumptious anti-hero and his young, naive lover. It’s at times sweet and charming and others abrasive and crude. It’s painful and full of angst and, as a whole, worthy of all the stars. I can’t recommend it enough!
This is the final book in the Goddess Isles series and by far my favorite! This series was a seductively addicting unique read told in dual POV . Definite must read and definite 5 stars from me! I’m sad that this story is ended but in the same token I’m glad Sully and Eleanor get there HEA they so deserve it’s been one long crazy ride a dark and deliciously erotic tale . This book definitely has everything we expect from a Pepper Winters dark romance and can’t wait to see what else she has in store for us .
* ARC KINDLY GIVEN FOR MY HONEST OPINION *
What an ending to an amazing series! Pepper Winters brings this series full circle with glimpses of some of our favorites.
This installment was all out war! Wars waged between brothers, life and death and wars within themselves. A huge emotional roller coster throughout which will take you to the final destination and leave you with a smile on your heart and a tear that it is over
Sully and Eleanor were pushed beyond their limits but their love knows boundaries so they met each obstacle head on. Their plight an attempt to free themselves from the past and forge their future.
Another set of characters that Pepper Winters has created that will leave an imprint on your heart. Looking forward to whats next
*Sigh*
It’s official. The author and this book has slayed, ruined and laid waste on my dark heart. I will never be the same again. So, this is it. The ending of one of the most phenomenal dark romance I have ever read this year. After that breathtaking ending of book 4, I’m pretty sure I was holding my breath (and near to die actually) to have my hands on this final book. I have never loathed a fictional character like I did Sully’s brother but eventually, he reaped what he has sowed.
Fifth A Fury lived up to its title for it was the foremost emotion that Sully and Eleanor clung to. There was a lot of angst, fear, and undying, strong love throughout the story. I have felt these emotions alongside our characters and I don’t think I could have fallen in love more than I did already. But I was proven wrong. The story, main and even secondary characters will forever be etched in my heart.
To say that this series is phenomenal is the understatement of the century. This is how a great romance love story should be told. This series warrant a million 5 stars and more!
Pepper is amazing. She is a talented, gifted writer. She can paint a picture with words. You can feel the characters, their pain, loss and passion. I cried more than once. I felt Eleanor and Sully’s pain and despair and their love. Awesome ending.
Well it is finally here. The series is complete. The miraculous and wondrous journey that we have lived through with Jinx and Sully is about to reach its dramatic conclusion.
This was an absolutely amazing series. The anticipation for every book in the journey of these characters left me breathless and on the edge of my seat. Pepper Winters has the uncanny ability to make you crave more of her characters plight. Their depth and complexity draws you in to find out how they change and evolve through their interactions and as the story unfolds.
Fifth A Fury is no different from the other four books. You will be hooked from the beginning, cursing at the pages, hyperventilating as the story progresses and praying you don’t pass out by the end from the number times you hold your breath.
Jinx and Sully are about to face their most difficult challenge yet. It will take its toll on not only their bodies but their minds. With every twist and turn in their final journey one question remains, will they come through this together? The pain seems to never end, much can they endure before enough is enough?
I cannot believe that I have made it to the end! It was touch and go there for a while I wasn’t sure if I could take much more my head was spinning. Just when I thought I knew what the author was going to do WHAM! I would get hit with another twist in the tale. Always keeping you on the edge of your seat. Jinx and Sully are definitely a Pepper Winters power couple. Although Jet and Nila are still my favourite!
Such an incredible conclusion to an amazing series! Fifth a Fury is not anything you are expecting. It begins right where the unbelievable cliffhanger left us in Fourth a Lie and the pace is relentless. Drake seriously is the most vile and despicable villain. And Sully & Eleanor prove that their love for each other is a stronger force than Drake being evil. This book is about revenge and redemption. This book is about forgiveness and self awareness. This book is about unconditional love and loyalty above anything else. This is about a Goddess and her God. This is their love story and their HEA.
Fifth A Fury by Pepper Winters, the than awaited conclusion to the Goddess Isles series is now live!!
The Series is Complete, and what an amazing way to end this phenomenal series!
This series has been amazing Sully has brought Eleanor to her knees time and time again, and now with the last part of the story on place I feel I wanted to devour it quickly but knowing it would bring the end, a dark beautiful story I loved I voluntarily reviewed this book.
Wow, what a fantastic finale to this absolutely original story line. This was the ultimate pinnacle of the story and t couldn’t have ended any better way.
So much is happening in this last edition of the series. We wrap up Sully, Eleanor, Drake, Jess, Cal, Pika and Skittles. There is so much action and suspense going on that its hard to put the book down at all.
This story pulled me in from the beginning and had me wanting more and more from each of the characters. Sully is a very sullied person but he grows so much because of Eleanor, you cant help but love his flawed character. Eleanor is the true hero of this story. A strong and stoic woman, she demonstrates everything we want to be as women. Pika and Skittles just wrapped it all up in fun and play. Pika was so cute and genuine. He always helped relieve the tension going on between the characters.
Oh, and we get a little taste of a couple of characters from previous series as well, which was surprising and fun.
If you want something different, but still dark, you won’t want to miss this series. I’d love to visit Goddess Isles!!
Oh My what can I say I believe I found a new favorite of Pepper Winters series. I loved Indebted Series, Tears of Tess & Dollar Series but Sullivan Aiden Sinclair, Eleanor Jinx Grace, Pika Skittles, Cal & Jess are now my favorites.
How can you love a monster easy when is name is Sully Sinclair. This series was a hard one to finish only because I hated to leave the Goddess Isles, every emotion you have and yes ugly-cry too, especially in this last book. A must read fabulous series. Nothing like a man that worships his goddess!!!
Just wow I’m speechless this conclusion of Sully and Eleanor is absolutely heartpounding to the last word so intense it is explosive with emotion, the connection these two have is the most beautiful experience to read about.
I truly love love this series the writing is amazing and we get so much feeling pouring off the page you have to take a breath in between. Just incredible.
You know you read a great book (series) when you get to the last page and you feel lost …
And i feel a little lost right now.
Pepper Winters is a genius: she created a world that’s unique !!!
Fifth a Fury is the epic end of a series that is a masterpiece.
It’s a must read.
And it’s addictive.
It’s been a bumpy ride, a rollercoaster of emotions that keeps you on the edge from the first word.
It made me cry and left me with a stupid smile on my face.
I’m not gonna spoiler anything because you’ve to go blind through it and let yourself be stolen from each page, from each sensations….
Sully and Eleonor have grown up from the first book, especially Sully; but they’ve stayed true themself.
Together they are pure magic and their love is so intense, it’s almost tangible.
It’s overwhelming.
And it’s ended too early
I’ve been definitely sullied by Sully
Fifth A Fury was a great way to conclude Sully and Eleanor’s story. These two continue fighting obstacles and for their love and to be together. Their road to happiness wasn’t an easy one. It was torture, but there is a happy ending. There were times that I wanted to skip to the end to see them happy. Eleanor is strong, fierce heroine. She doesn’t give up on Sully even when there is little hope. And there was a sliver of it in this installment. Eleanor saved Sully in more ways than one.
I felt some places it dragged a little bit. I would’ve liked it if it was paced slightly faster. Drake was handle in a matter too quickly for my taste. I thought it was going to take more than what took. Also I wanted to see a interaction happening between two characters. At first I thought it was heading that direction, but it went in to another. Regardless, I wasn’t disappointed with the ending.
This series has been a ride, well more like a roller-coaster. It’s dark, erotic, suspenseful, and intense. I loved the couple and growth. Sully became a favorite anti-hero of mine. I didn’t like him much in the beginning, but fell for him with each book. I freaking loved Pika and Skittles. They were adorable. Jessica is one of the best side characters. She was awesome throughout the series. I want a novella of her and Cal’s. I need her HEA.
4.5 stars
