Hera Watterson’s flight from her small town into the Sierras hasn’t gone unnoticed. The guys after her really want the evidence she’s trying to bring to Reno. Fleeing isn’t easy when her ex-fiancé is a drug dealer…and the chief of police. It’s even harder when her car breaks down and a super-hot guy with strange eyes starts getting into her business. Radiator overheating? Sure. But that doesn’t … doesn’t have anything to do with the molten feeling spreading through her core.
Shapeshifter Blake Fournier has been wandering around the wilderness for months, often coming back to stay at his family’s ranch for just a couple of days before heading out again. His inner mountain lion is bored and listless, tired of the routine of hunts, fights, and one-night stands. His first impression of the woman stuck on the side of the road? She’s absolutely gorgeous. Second impression? Completely paranoid. But once he gets to know her, his lion only wants to wander into one last place: her heart.
Content warning: This sexy shapeshifter novelette includes a happily-ever-after as well as explicit love scenes and naughty language. It is intended for adults.

Quick, fast paced, but an enjoyable read
Redneck knight in a rusty steed to the rescue! This was another car rescue story that took things in an unexpected direction. Broken down car? Check. Damsel in distress? Check. Good samaritan? Check. Bullets flying through the air at said damsel in distress? Check – wait! What?!? What redblooded redneck can resist jumping in to help? Definitely not Blake! Time to put this courtship into fast forward!
This is a short, sweet, and to-the-point story. A nice, quickie diversion in Kindle Unlimited. Blake and Hera discover each other as fated mates. Some tense moments while being chased by Hera’s ex and his thugs, then Blake’s secret is out. Fortunately, Hera is OK with that and is more than fine with a night of hot sex. Now they just have to figure out how to live the rest of their lives together as a shifter and human couple. Hopefully, happily ever after.
A very enjoyable story, and what looks like to be a fun series to get into, looking forward to reading the rest in the series. Liza tells a great story.
Hera is fleeing from her ex-fiance who is trying to kill her. In doing so it puts her right in the path of Blake. At first Blake thinks Hera might be a little crazy but the first bullet that goes by him makes him realize she is in trouble.
Running from the ex puts these two in close quarters and they realize just how much chemistry is between them. However Blake has a really big secret that he is scared to share with her. He has found his mate but now he just has to convince her to not be afraid of him.
Start Anew…..
Hera is running from a corrupt ex and she has the proof to put him away, problem is he has all the resources to find her and he will catch up with her sooner than later….. In her haste to get away she neglects her girl (car) and breaks down and in comes the Knight in shining armor to the rescue, only he’s not shining, he is hot!
Blake has no idea the trouble this gorgeous human is going to bring to his ranch…..He only knows that she is his mate, but that’s about all he knows since he and his siblings were never told about the birds and the bees, shifter mates in their case…..
Blake and Hera are about to embark on the fated mate journey and he always thought his older brothers would be first …
Fast paced story with a criminal ex, beaten up car and sexy shifter, all leading to a match made in Heaven. I really enjoyed Blake and Hera together and look forward to reading the remainder of the series. Well Done.
Who is Hera? What does she do for a living? Where do we find her? What is happening right at the beginning of this book? Who is tobin? My jaw dropped when I learned who and/or what Tobin was. Who is Blake? What about his brothers/ how does Jude feel about Hera being brought to their home? Read and see what happens. This was a cute short story with some suspense.
I do not get the idea behind this book. I mean, it has a pretty clear plot, but why even bother writing this book is what I am wondering. Because reading it gave me nothing. No expectations, no excitement and no emotion towards the characters or story.
The number one reason for it being so bland was the tempo of the storyline. It was just so so rushed that there was no room for any character growth or any sort of development at all. I was not given the chance to get to know the characters either. It was pretty much a girl met a guy, insta-love, he helps her out and suddenly they are in a “in it for life” kind of relationship. As a really short summarization of the story, it sounds interesting enough, but when the actual book is almost as simple and shortened like that with no emotional struggle or natural progression leading up to them becoming a thing it’s just not enjoyable. And let’s not forget how unbelievable it all is.
To me the characters might as well have been empty human shells. There was no background story or any sort of introduction telling me who these people were. And the storyline did not help bringing life to these shells later on either. They had no flaws, emotions or anything to go on. They were just the ordinary everyday Joe doing things that the author told them to do.
So, I am stuck wondering what the point of writing this book was if no effort or passion was put into it?
This was a great quick read, I really enjoyed the characters, it was a great conflict that brought the two together and they got their HEA in the end. It was an all around well done story that held my interest from start to finish.
Enjoyed this shifter Novella! I am looking forward to reading the entire series.
