Death is a lonely place, silent, or so everyone thinks… day, as she fights to bring back a dying baby in the hospital where she works, Fern hears the familiar melody once more. Except this time the voice belongs to a man with ice-blue eyes and black angel wings. As the baby takes its final breath, the angel sings his last note. For this isn’t an angel who gives life, it is one that takes it.
One year has passed since that encounter, and just when Fern is beginning to believe it had all been an illusion, the angel returns, and this time he’s not alone. For now there are three Angels of Death and Fern appears to be their next victim.
Fern’s Decision is the first book of Fern’s trilogy and continues the Sisters of Hex story. Although this is the start of a standalone trilogy, to get a full picture of the overarching storyline you might wish to read Accacia’s trilogy first.

A wonderful, clever romance story that takes the concept of angels a step further. Great summer read!
Fern helps bring life into this world. I LOVE this MC. She has a “disability” and the fact that she has fought to have the life she wants is just Amazing!! In the book she is deaf but can hear this beautiful song sung be her Dark Angels(Bringers of Death!!!). They challenge her in many ways but will they be able to be together? I WANT BOOK 2!
Favorite book by Bea Paige to date! I was intrigued with the concept and she did not disappoint
We get to meet Fern, who is a midwife who has a knack for helping bring life into the world and know what the mommy and baby need. She is also deaf, but doesnt let that get in the way of her care and calling in life. Since she was a little girl, she could hear voices singing melodic sad songs when someone near her was dying. It wasn’t until she was older, when she was caring for a new mom and her little bundle of joy that she got to meet the being from which one of the voices came from. Later, she meets him again and 2 more just like him: the Angels of Death…her dark angels.
I immediately fell in love with Fern as a main character. I could relate to her and loved how strong she was. Yes, she had some doubts and was trusting when most of us would be scared out of our minds, but she feels the connection with her sexy, mysterious angels. I went into this book thinking I was going to love Gabe the most, but Mihr totally took this book in my eyes. I want one of my own, like RIGHT NOW! I also appreciated and loved the music aspect to this book. I have been singing all my life and wanted to pursue it as a career before engineering got in the way haha, so this book called to me.
The tension between Fern and the guys is ridiculous and I cant wait to see what Bea does to show their relationship grow and blossom. I hope we get to see more cameos in the next 2 books, loved the one in this book!! I also, cannot wait to see what happened at the end, sorta a cliffhanger but one I was not upset with. I kinda knew it would be coming after how Accacia’s books went, but I loved how it happened this time. I am so excited for this new series by Bea and CANNOT wait for the next book in the series. Hopefully we won’t have to wait long.
Make sure you pick up this book when you are done your current book because you will fall for Fern and her dark angels like I have. Just be warned this is an event that might upset you, which is why Bea included a trigger warning.
once i started I couldn’t put the book. I was riding a rollercoaster of emotions of start to finish. ferns faces some hard emotions in this book and I’m really looking forward to reading the next to see if she’s is the answer to breaking the curse. it’s well written with great charcter and background build up.
Bea Paige has seriously got me hooked on the Sisters of Hex series! Once again she has captivated us with moments of compassion, discovery and growth.
Fern’s Decision captures the reader from the get go, with a prologue tale of a young girl who doesn’t know what her future will bring. From here we skip to the moment of time where Accacia’s Bite leaves us. It’s at this moment that we begin to see Fern learn about her part in the prophecy. I honestly cannot WAIT to see where Fern’s journey takes us in Fern’s Wings: A reverse harem novel!
**I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author for review consideration**
This book was a roller coaster of emotions that I never wanted to end. The beginning of the novel drew me in and knocked me right in the feels. The introduction of Fern to her three men is breathtaking and emotional. I loved every second of meeting these characters. I can’t pick a fave and love Gabe, Mihr, and Ether for different reasons. This story has everything. Love, lust, action, grief, and romance. Once I started, I couldn’t put it down. Perfect mixture of amazing dialogue and beautiful world-building. Loved everything about it!
This is a fantastic introduction to the next sister in The Sisters of Hex series. I highly recommend starting with Accacia’s triology and there is valuable back story to be had. However, you can start with this one and still have an understanding of what is going on. Fern is the perfect opposite to the 3 angels introduced in this book. Now some of the initial scenes are extremely emotionally charged. It addresses a serious life defining moment for some mothers and is written beautifully. Having a MC that is deaf was a nice change of pace to many others in the genre. 3 men with deep brooding backgrounds and 1 female that is full of life? This has the workings to be an amazing triology and I can’t wait to read the next book.
Fern’s Decision is the 4th book in the Sisters of Hex series and we get introduced to Fern, the missing daughter of Clan Vitae (Angels of Death).
I instantly fell in love with the new characters and loved how strong and empathic Fern is. She works as a midwife and is deaf, only hearing singing when someone is dying. Turns out she`s hearing the voices of angels of death and that’s how she meets Mihr, Gabe and Ether.
This story is different from Accaccia and her vamps and absolutely breathtaking in its own, unique way! The characters are filled with depth and are relatable with their emotional struggles, they’re dear to my heart and I bloody can’t wait to get to know them even better and experience how they’ll develop as persons as well as in their intense relationships.
I really like how in this book, it follows along with the next clan to find their missing daughter. I also like how they include the other clans and daughters too. Its like a small series inside the bigger series. Its different and I like learning about each of them. Fern and her guys are awesome, I especially like Mihr. I cant wait to see what happens with Fern and the guys when Abanthe comes after them again! Great start to the series within the series.
I loved Fern and her angels. I can’t wait for the next one!
In the fourth book of the Sisters of Hex series by Bea Paige, Fern’s Decision, readers are introduced to the missing daughter of Clan Vitae (Angels of Death), Fern. Fern is a midwife, who is deaf, and after the loss of a patient finally sees Gabe, the man behind the voice that she has heard before any death. She soon meets Mihr and Ether, who along with Gabe, have come to find her. She is drawn to each of them, but their time together is short lived as the guys are drawn by to Ever Vale by the evil with Queen Adrielle. The guys promise to return and as they are leaving Gabe accidentally marks her with a death mark. When they men return they travel to Shadow vale and then onto Utero the true home of Clan Vitae where the group is forced to make choices to save Fern and that affect them all. This book is an interesting introduction to Fern’s story and left me curious as to what will happen next to Fern and her guys.
Wonderful story that is very well written and draws you in. The characters are complex and the world they live in is very rich and written in wonderful detail that makes you feel like you are there.
The next book in the Sister of Hex series was a really great read. I was wondering how the triad of Clan Vitae would bind with Fern when they can’t touch her. I really enjoyed finding out how they did it. I’m hoping the next book will show more of the relationships progressing. I’m looking forward to the next book and can’t wait to have my eyes on it.
Fern is such an interesting and original MC, she has been deaf, but can hear Death singing, and she has had a difficult life with her mom. I really like how strong she is and how she challenges Ether and Gabr. I also really liked Mihr. He could easily have blended more in the background, but he has a core of steel and I like how he has Fern’s back. I am not usually a fan of angel stories, but this author has created such a unique world that I am just drawn into. I can wait to see how Ferns story unfolds!
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
OMG I loved every minute of this book! For one I was more then ready to dive back into the world of the Sisters of Hex after the Accacia trilogy and this starts a whole new one. We meet Fern who for once is not completely perfect, at least while in our world, but those same imperfections work to her advantage when she returns where she belongs. I loved how this book was different then most others I have read by tackling issues, delaying physical stuff, and building a strong relationship foundation that really blended to create a fantasy RH novel that I was unable to put down once I got started. You really have to read this book if you are a fan of the genre. As mentioned I loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
