Scientists don’t believe in dragons.Dragons never think much about humans at all.Maybe it’s time for their worlds to collide amidst the dangerous beauty of Antarctica.Doctor and biochemist, Erin signed up for six months aboard an Antarctic research ship to escape her stifling surgery practice. Jerked from her cozy cabin, she’s dumped in an ice cave by men who assume she’s dead.Konstantin and … she’s dead.
Konstantin and Katya, twins and dragon shifters, have lived miles beneath the polar ice cap for hundreds of years. Other dragons left, but they stuck it out. When several humans—all but two of them dead—end up not far from their lair, the opportunity is too good to pass up.
If the lore is to be believed, humans can become dragon shifters. Delighted by a simple solution to their enforced isolation, the dragons lure the humans to their home. Surely, they’ll be thrilled by the prospect of becoming magical.
Or not.
Too bad no one shared the script with the humans. Science be damned, they’re horrorstruck in the face of fire-breathing dragons. All they want is to escape, but home is thousands of miles away.

I know dragons are arrogant, but Konstantin gives the word a whole new meaning. Katya, his twin sister, has a better understanding of humans so is easier to deal with. They have decided to investigate some humans to determine compatibility. Erin and Johan are researchers that have been in Antarctic waters for several months. Fighting for their lives after pirates kill the rest of the crew, they meet the twins. It was hilarious the way Konstantin expected them to just fawn all over him and Katya but Erin was not impressed. Johan was funny with his sci-fi knowledge and actually meeting an alien dragon. This story is about the humans and dragons coming together to fight an ancient enemy of the dragons and save the earth. I loved Johan’s open mind. I am so excited to see how the fight continues. I requested an advanced reader copy and am under no obligation to leave this review.
Dr Erin Ryan wakes in an ice cave her head hurting from the blow that rendered her unconscious and looking round she sees lumps that she first thinks are rocks but then realizes they are wrapped bodies. The doctor in her insists on seeing how each one dies each one frozen and stiff with rigor mortise until she reaches the last Johan and it it is soft which alerts her to the fact that he is alive. He wakes but has a broken leg which she has to manipulate to realign the bone. As they try to find a way out strange things start to happen.

I enjoyed the book immensely and cannot wait for the sequel. Exciting characters, but a little predictable in physical description dept. Nevertheless, it was a fast moving pace with challenging decisions to be made. Loved the premise.
The start of a new series called Ice Dragons a well written story that kept me turning pages. The story flows smoothly from page to page. I know I want to read the next book in this series. Doctor and biochemist, Dr. Erin Ryan has come to spend six months aboard an Antarctic research ship. Konstantin and Katya, twins and dragon shifters, have lived miles beneath the polar ice cap for hundreds of years but now they have been disturbed. Erin and Johan are the only two left alive when the Russians killed the rest of the crew, and they are not in the best of shape. The four peoples join together to save the world from sea serpents that want to destroy the world. This book had me on the edge of my seat. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This story takes place in Antarctica & it’s different than anything I’ve read from Ann. It keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what the characters are going to do next. I couldn’t put it down. It does end on a cliffhanger, but it puts you right in line for book 2.
I can always count on this author when I want to step into a world that will allow me to set aside things if only for a little while. Yahoo this one is the beginning of a new series with a fabulous favorite. Of course Erin had to go to some cold for research because she to is looking to get away. It will get her more than research but also this will give us suspense. What she does come across will be what ties us tightly to this. The two in here also have a bit of humor and twins to boot. Johan will do his bit to entertain us too but this is a bit different with what the lore is in this one too. The wants in this one will have to be turned with us also following every bit of this one with delight. It also has you wanting the next real soon.
Very interesting & informative dragon fantasy. When the humans are challenged with a life or death dilemma, this new world entices them but this fantasy isn’t made for wimps. I love how descriptive this story is, I think that really heightens my imagination to a point of not only becoming a part of the story but actually seeing it… like watching an action-packed movie. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author.
Feral Ice, Ann Gimpel’s new start to her triology Ice Dragons, is not for wimps! This story really highlights Ms. Gimpel’s ability to create a world in which life and death become true facets. Erin and Johan didn’t sign up for this, yet they both show such amazing strength of character. Konstatin and Katya are faced with a threat to their world and need to decide if they are going to abandon Earth or try to save it all while dealing with two head-strong humans. The storyline is fast-paced and unique, filled with dragon-shifters, magic, danger, twists and turns and budding romance. The characters are well-developed and endearing. I can’t wait to read Cursed Ice to see where Katya and Johan’s story takes us.
I enjoyed this one. I love books about dragons and Ann Gimpels books so I had to have this one.
It’s a great story about Dragon shifters and takes place at the South pole.
My only problem with it was it wasn’t long enough, lol.
Konstantin and Katya, twin dragon shifters, who have been living alone for a long time. Erin and Johan are researchers that end up being left for dead. I just loved the interactions between these four. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this world and for these guys.
This is the first book in the Ice Dragon series.
Its a real interesting plot that hooked me right from
the first page to the last.
Definitely looking forward to the next book in series.
