He warned me what would happen if he lost control. I didn’t listen. He told me to stay away from him, that if I got too close he would not be able to stop himself. He would pin me down and take me so fiercely my throat would be sore from screaming before he finished wringing one savage, desperate climax after another from my helpless, quivering body.Part of me was terrified, but another part … terrified, but another part needed to know if he would truly throw me to the ground, mount me, and rut me like a wild animal, longer and harder than any human ever could.
Now, as the feral beast flips me over to claim me even more shamefully when I’ve already been used more thoroughly than I imagined possible, I wonder if I should have listened to him…
Publisher’s Note: Feral includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

Definitely dark romance with non-consent. After the initial attack, the ‘hero’ feels upset about what he did to her. Then he turns around and demands total submission, basically punishing her for not wanting to listen to him. There was a definite lack of transition there. While the writing was fine, very few errors, there were development issues with the characters. I would have liked to see the world building expanded more as there were some interesting concepts here. The heroine is TSTL. This is insta-lust and BDSM without a ‘safe’ word at best.
I don’t even look at the blurb anymore when it comes to Sara Fields. I see her name and I know I’m going to absolutely love it. This one totally lived up to the expectations. It had the feel of an Area 51 type sci-fi, and I loved that it took place on Earth instead of in space. That’s not something I see very often in sci-fi. The story line was unique and interesting. I would have probably loved it just as much without all the sexiness, but luckily for me (and you), Sara knows how to mix dangerous suspense and dangerous sexiness. It kept me from being able to walk away. This is a quick read that shouldn’t be missed.
Sara is a journalist trying to uncover information on Echelon 67. As she continues her investigation she finds out that some bodies of supposed bear attacks clearly are from something else. When she follows another lead and ends up finding proof of the government doing secret experiments she knows that she has to find the truth and release it so everyone would know what was happening. Sara comes across Axel when she is searching a building and he warns her away but she is drawn to him and can’t seem to leave him. Can Sara expose what is going on a save Axel?
This is a steamy hot story that will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This story-line took me by surprise, I’m used to alien romance taking place on other planets, this one stayed firmly on earth! It was a really great story and I enjoyed reading it. There’s alien alphas and a human female, the story introduces them to each other and goes from there. It did end abruptly though, which was slightly disappointing. Other than that, sit back and enjoy! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Feral is a stand alone, dark sci-fi romance. Set in the future, Cosima is a scientific reporter, and her next story is all about the mysterious Echelon 67. Taking matters into her own hands, she sneaks into Echelon 67, amazed that there’s no one around, shocked at some of the evidence she finds, scared at the implications, and terrified when a not quite human massacres all of the soldiers. When Axel rescues Cosima, she refuses to listen and is confused about her feelings towards her hero. But when Axel has to face off against his brother to keep Cosima safe, will they both survive to claim each other?
Wow! This book is intense, full of darker elements, but also full of trust, fighting for each other, and even finding love in the unlikeliest of circumstances! Cosima and Axel were fascinating to read because of their differences, and the aspects that brought them closer together! Cosima was brave and bold, and steady. She had a lot thrown at her at one time, but kept her cool and analyzed her own self, body, and emotions. Axel was extremely intelligent, dominant, and I loved how his beast-side came out, especially around Cosima! They really had some steamy scenes, but I also loved when they worked together to fight against his brother. Ms. Fields has an amazing imagination that really sucked me in with the future she created, the traits of the aliens, the events and ways they fight, etc. I was completely captivated by this book, loved the darker romance, and love this author!
Feral from Sara Fields is a Sci-fi Dark romance between a scientist turned journalist, Cosima and an human alien hybrid of a government experiment, Axel. Cosima gets in trouble when she goes undercover to find about the secret government installation about super soldiers where she is saved by Axel, an dominant alpha. From there the journey of super hot dark romance with thrilling storyline takes on.The story is scripted to be in future. I enjoyed this book and recommending it to others over the age of 18.

So Sara Fields new Author for me: but one I will be watching for sure: this had such an interesting concept and for me, It was this overall vein that initially drew me towards Feral as a story.
The hot and heavy antics between Axel and Cosima were just the icing.
So as I was saying it was the Sci-Fi Alien aspect of this rather than the romance that captured my attention it was just a shame that this wasn’t expanded on and explored in more depth.
I never really felt we got in tune with Axel’s inner monologue and his thoughts on a life of almost ongoing servitude for the military.
I mean he was just as much as a captive as his crazy ass brother but I didn’t get a sense of how this had affected his psyche.
I also couldn’t get a handle on Cosima and her total lack of flight plans once she was intercepted by Axel she acclimatised very quickly: I would still be totally screeching like a loony in fright and disbelief if I had witnessed an altercation between two eight foot tall red monsters and one threw me over his shoulder and made off with me .
He does return to more normal proportions and colour when calmer but still.
Also whats with her wandering the complex and area alone: stay the hell put girly!!!
I don’t get why she would even do that considering past events and knowing That Axel’s bro is a bit cray cray and still on the loose.
This at its heart is an easy read that is basically extremely instalove in nature and also includes some panty dropping steamy antics: and boy are they hot and heavy and just for info there are extra appendages involves here.
It’s well written: does what it says on the tin and can be read fairly quickly.
I did enjoy myself so will definitely be trying something else by this author but would have loved this to have been a tad lengthier and maybe a touch more involved than it was.
For clarification, this, in my opinion, isn’t that dark at all: I suppose initially there’s what you could class as slight dub-con: but its like really mild and Cosima is not really saying no either it’s more akin to weak reluctance on her part which she very swiftly abandons.
So If you’re looking for some sizzle and spice then this one certainly delivers that in spades.
Axel is one dominant Alpha Alien who goes after what he wants and that in this instance is Cosima.
This for me was a fun read.
I borrowed this with my KU subscription.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

If, in your travels, you happen upon a secret government installation, before you run away, just be aware that the best thing in your life might be waiting for you behind that fence…. This book has so many wild and sexy elements, with just enough danger and excitement thrown in. Cosima is a woman filled with derring-do and Axel is,well, the best bad boy you are ever going to meet. Not giving anything away, just letting you know that this is a really great stand alone novel by Sara fields, it really delivers all the things that you love in her stories. For a great read, look no further, you have found it!!!!
A great storyline a fast story to read it is an intense, dark story of romance. This is a story that makes
you feel like you are right there. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was an intense and scorching hot read. Cosima meets Axel when his brother attacks her. Axel saves her and takes her to his cave where she will be safe. There is something different about Axel. He is half human and half alien with modifications to his genes. When his alien half is more dominant he takes what he wants, how and when he wants. There are some very intense and hot scenes between the two and they start to care about the other. They have a problem, his brother is still on the loose. Axel will do whatever it takes to keep Cosima safe, even if it means losing himself. This is a dark read, with some hot and intense scenes. Curiosity almost killed the woman but satisfaction brought her back…
Cosima a reporter, was chasing a story. She was very curious about what she would find at Echelon 67. There was a whole more she hadn’t anticipated than she found. A lot of theories were bantered about, was it animals, aliens or mutants. There characters are strong willed but not stupidly so, well most of them weren’t. I enjoyed the twist and turns in the plot. As always Sara has another literary winner.
I’m not normally a fan of alien romance, but I am a fan of the author, so I felt I needed to at least give this book a try. There are some series shades of The X-Men’s Wolverine in here. I mean: top secret military research installation tucked back into the middle of nowhere, experimenting on virtually indestructible super soldiers. You can see where I got the comparison. The story also has the scorching heat of the surface of the sun. (And this is where my brain took a detour into the ridiculous – triple-X-men, anyone?) I’m not sure if this book has changed my views of alien romance, but it’s certainly cemented my fandom of Sara Fields work.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through Booksprout.
This is a dark, gritty, intense read and I loved it! Axel and Cosima’s chemistry is kindle melting hot! I’ve read a lot of books through the years but never one with such intense characters that I want to read more about. This book is full of drama, mystery, nail biting suspense, danger, passion, and twists that had me captivated from the first page until the last. I hope we get more about these characters in future books.
I just loved Axel and Cosima’s story! Interspecies lust and love with an ALPHA male and a fiesty smart fearless woman! Mix this up with an enemy, action, danger, intrigue, conflict, secret government agencies, secret experiments and some sexy kinky love scenes! Awesome read!
Set in the future, Sara is a scientist turned journalist of science trying to find out the secrets of Echelon 67. There had been deaths being blamed on bear attack but when a friend of hers let her examine one of the bodies, the DNA was not completely human. After sneaking onto the property and finding a building that looked to be destroyed she went in, only to discover paperwork of a government project started more than a decade ago. She had to find a way to get as much information and get the story out of what was going on. Quickly.
Sara Fields has created a futuristic world of mystery, conspiracy, aliens, BDSM, love and every emotion you can imagine working through all those scenarios. The storyline is fast moving with a plot that will definitely hold your attention. The characters are so full of personality, they are relatable (even to your imagination) keeping your mind interacting with them. Although there is a dubious consent at the beginning of the book, there are descriptive sex scenes that could offend, with plenty of spanking, but there is always the reference to the internal struggle of wanting and denying. The was one that left a few quivers with the reader.
Sci-Fi is not a genre a normally/or ever read – not my cup of tea! BUT WOW – this book is HOT – I didn’t mind the Sci-Fi at all – as a matter of fact I just might start reading more if it – if this book is any indication!! The whole book is great not just the “HOT” stuff – it has a great story – great detail – great character building!! Certainly a MUST read!
Feral is a dark and sexy romance, with a twist of sci-fi. I fell in love with Axel. Protective, caring and giving are just a few words to describe Axel. His natural dominance helps Cosima submit in every way to her captor. Cosima is a human just trying to survive but she too falls in love with Axel. Feral is not just avout the romance. There is suspense, action and feral, animal fighting. There is so much to love about Feral. I could not stop reading it and it seemed the pages turned themselves. This is a must read.
This is a dark, exciting and fascinating story of Cosima, an intelligent, curious, scientific journalist determined to discover information hidden within a top secret government installation.
While, she tries to secretly accomplish her goal, she is discovered, and, from there, the action moves quickly – definitely, not in the way she had planned. Cosima finds her life in extreme jeopardy until Axel, a genetically altered, humanoid, ALPHA “beast” fights the danger in order to rescue her. They are drawn together almost immediately. His Alpha dominance both frightens and appeals to her. Their relationship is rough, feral and sizzling hot. Read this for yourself and see!
