Callie’s story continues in book three of The Firehouse Feline series and picks up where book two left off. Callie is a cat shifter and is learning how to control her magic. In this book we get more character and story development. This is an entertaining series filled with mystery, magic, drama, humor, twists and a cliffhanger that left me ready for the next book in this series.
Callie has her powers now, but what will her Uncle? What will happen to her cat? What are happening to the witches? Can she take the throne?

More drama comes in this new story in the series. You would think it would be easy once she unlocks her powers but no…there is some drama but there is also laughter and shenanigans that had me entertained until the end.

Callie has her powers now but she is still learning how to use them fully. King Robert, her uncle, lied to her as evidenced by witches being kidnapped by his men in order for him to steal their magic. The witches are panicked and no one knows who to trust.
One of James’ old school friends arrives. Though James seems to trust him, he hears rumors that Benedict is power-hungry? Is this part of King Robert’s plotting, or is this a separate matter not related to that?
Callie’s guys are holding back their feelings, afraid to be honest, and that is making things worse. No one can figure out who to trust anymore, and all eyes turn to Callie to do something. As the Solstice approaches, tension gets worse as time is running out for her to issue a challenge to claim her throne. She needs enough allies, and skill with her powers, to go up against her uncle who will turn his own dark magic and evil against her.
There is much going on, but it seems not quite as frenzied as the earlier books. Trouble comes from all sides and Callie’s guys are still trying to help her — but their reluctance to be completely candid is making everyone uneasy. Grab your copy to see what’s going on and whether Callie is ready for this latest challenge!
I have mixed feelings about this third book in the Firehouse Feline series. The book was well-written and the characters all remained true to their individual personalities but I thought that there was an inordinate amount of internal dialogue and nowhere near the amount of action that had kept the previous books so compelling. I will read the next book because I have enjoyed the series as a whole and will not give up on it simply because I did not enjoy one segment of it.

This is best read if you have read other books in the series. Book lacked much romance, and the ending was unresolved. The magical aspects were interesting and well written. I finished the book feeling unsatisfied. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is an exciting addition to the series as the tension builds with Callie and her friends in preparation to face the king.
Fast paced and romantic read

Finding what’s within and doing what she can for her lives, herself and her people may be one of hardest, most dangerous and most necessary things ever.
Intense drama, action and romance
ONE INTERESTING EXPERIENCE!!!
Holy frick! This talented trio grabs the bull by the horns with one incredible body slam, shaking things up, sending out tremors and blazing this baby together piece by piece. A tumultuous eddy of spinning emotions along with daunting circumstances that feed from the unnerving tension blasting this baby to life smoothly. Show stopping drama, distress, intrigue, danger and suspense ensues ramping up the stakes, keeping you riveted on a razors edge. Jumping hoops, coping with the trials and tribulations keeping pace with sharp twists, clean turns and thin lines launching this baby forward sleek, shiny and tight. The attraction and chemistry sizzles from the pages and suck you in so deeply until you feel the heat and electricity thrumming through your veins. The characters are authentic and realistic with personalities and depth that blew this baby wide open and exposed in all it’s glory. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions you have no problem picturing each scenario creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Fantastic job guys, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
The writing and editing was high quality in the ARC version of this manuscript, with only a few stray typos or wrong word choices here and there. The world building was excellent, with the political maneuverings of the witch kingdom being very interesting. The characterization of the heroine and three heroes was good, with all of them being sympathetic individuals. The development of the romantic relationship between these protagonists was slow and a very minor part of this story, so I would not necessarily call this series of books romances. It is more urban fantasy with a romantic element. The plot and pacing of this installment was very slow, and almost no plot really happens in this book. I would say this book in the series suffers somewhat from middle book syndrome. This novel contains very little angst, and there are looming high stakes for the whole series, but the stakes in this particular installment did not feel particularly high, probably because there was so little happening in this novel so far as plot. This book contains the Chosen One trope commonly found in fantasy novels. The characterization was four stars. The world building was also four stars. The plot, pacing, and development of the romantic relationships in this novel were three stars. I was generous and gave this novel a combined score of four stars, because of the clean writing and editing. This novel ends on a cliffhanger instead of a Happy Ever After, so that is a big con to the novel. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy reverse harem urban fantasy series that end on cliffhangers. I do not plan to buy myself a keeper copy of this novel, though I did enjoy it.

Callie (FMC) is preparing herself to go up against her uncle in book 3 in this series. Which means getting used to having and using her magic with the help of her guys – Hank, Will and James. As well as everyone on her side. Complications come in the form of an old friend of James’. One that hes not sure to trust or not. This series is just a brilliant read. Oh and can i have more of Sugar please? Her bluntness is refreshingly funny and shes a great character too. Love It
This book was even better then the last 2! That ending was inspiring and I loved it! She’s going to be one epic Queen. I hope she actually finds a way to have her cat side back. I’m curious why Sugar is hiding her dragon side an pretending to be human. If it’s possible can she get her own series lol. I actually didn’t want this book to end it was so freaking good. If I could rate this book 100 stars I would in a flash.

The third sequel to FIREHOUSE FELINE, is about Callie gaining and mastering her magic and establishing her position in the coven.
There are more attacks, and King Robert fights dirty.
The story continues fast paced and keeps the reader on their toes as new characters are introduced and jealousy flares between Callie and her three mates.
A good blend of magic, mystery, fantasy and romance, the book is a pleasure to read – and although one is not left on the proverbial cliff, one wants to continue the story to see, what else King Robert is trying to keep his power.

Callie has unleashed her powers after visiting with her Uncle. She is overwhelmed by it that she is in pain and she ends up losing her cat. She knows she needed to do it. The guys and others all are trying to help her learn her magic. Callie is doing a good job learning. This an area that she does have difficulty.
Callie learns that the King has not kept his word, he lied to her. He is having witches taken or killed. She decides that she will have no choice but to try to take the throne from him. As they are trying to gather intel on the King, James runs into a person from his past. James doesn’t know if he is trustworthy. When Callie needs help, looks like they have to try to trust him
There is a lot going on with this book. You will see the relationship between Callie and her guys move forward. Callie will have to learn her magic and decide what she is going to do about the King and her hiding. This a bit like a rollercoaster with everything going on, can not what to see what happens in the next book

Laura Greenwood’s third book, Feline the Burn, in the Firehouse Feline series has a lot going on and if your just coming into the series, as I was, it is overwhelming the amount of backstory that isn’t presented, meaning I was lost or in the dark for much of the first half of the book. Once I got the characters, and their backstories straight, I was able to settle in more comfortably and enjoy all the moving parts to this captivating story.
What I got out of the story, and it’s characters early on, before I completely understood what was actually going on behind the scenes, is that there is quite a lack of communication between the characters about their feelings for each other, therefore there was A LOT of jealous emotions threaded throughout the story. But once I got past that distraction, I found the characters diverse and multi-dimensional…with unique personalities that drew me in and created an emotional investment.
I found the story fast paced, which I enjoyed once I had the characters and their histories sorted out, with ever changing directions that i found captured and held my attention…one disappointment I had though is that the story seemed to have one objective, work up to the next installment…which I found to be dissatisfying in rounding out some of the lesser stories running parallel to the main action. I don’t know if I will seek to read any further in the series going forward.
