I’m not to proud to admit that finding Mr. Right involves swiping right. Right? Welcome to dating in avocado toastland. Here I am, on my first blind date, ever, courtesy of a smartphone app and my two annoying best friends. So what is Chris “Fletch” Fletcher doing, walking across the room, looking at his phone like he’s pattern matching a picture to find a real person he’s never met before?Oh.Oh, … met before?
Oh.
Oh, no.
The guy I drop-kicked in seventh grade cannot be my blind date. The guy who earned me this infernal nickname.
That’s right.
Feisty.

Enlightening to watch Fiona grow and connect with herself. I loved that she could do martial arts and be a New Ager. Sweet story of nemesis, to friends, to lovers.
This was so good!
It’s lighthearted, funny, and gives you all the warm fuzzies inside.
I loved Fiona and her story. It got a little woo-woo at times, but it fit with Fiona’s character.
I’d read it again.
First of all, ignore that blurb. Seriously, that scene is so misleading and such a minuscule part of the story it’s ridiculous.
Fiona is a preschool teacher, and a violent event thrusts her unwillingly into the spotlight. (As an aside, my oldest daughter is a preschool teacher and I was a wreck at the end of chapter two.) Fletch has been in the peripheral of Fiona’s circle since they were kids in school together, but she’s hated him since they were 12 and he bestowed the nickname Feisty upon her. Now a paramedic, he responds to the incident and helps care for Fiona.
Life keeps throwing them together, and Fiona starts to wonder why she puts so much energy into hating him.
This was a really fun book to read, and now I really wish I had been able to read Fluffy and Perky (but this is still a standalone, no worries there). These characters are so freaking FUN! Fiona, Perky (nickname for Persephone), and Mallory (from Fluffy) are best friends and have an amazing, supportive relationship. Their friendship was honestly the best part of the book for me. Fletch and Fiona made a great couple, though, once they stopped fighting. And the cabin trip had me cracking up!
Definitely get this book. I am going to go back and read the previous two and already can’t wait for the next book to be released.
Great book! Fiona & Chris are simply the best! Loved their storyline & glad to have the gang all included!
I loved this book, but I’m not sure I can exactly put into words why I did. I know I should have expected it, it’s Fiona after all, but this story is a lot more… esoteric… than I was prepared for. There’s a lot of fascinating, obscure, deep thoughts that have gone into this book. And, I think some of those very deep thoughts kept the story from being as light and, dare I say it? “fluffy”? as I was thinking I was going to get. Chris is adorable. He’s probably just about as perfect as book boyfriends get. He was sweet, charming, caring, protective, and perfectly able to apologize for the wrong he’d done to her all those years ago. Now, seeing the lead up for the next book in the series, I’m dying to see how the author is going to make us love a character we’ve spent the last three books actively disliking.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
What a sweet, feel good, I am woman, here me roar, romantic comedy!! Feisty was the third book in Julia’s Do-Over series. I have enjoyed reading these amazing women’s stories. They can be read as stand-alones, but you would be missing out if you don’t read them all!!
Fiona’s friends thought it would be a good idea to get Fiona on one of those dating sites…Nothing bad could happen, right? Wrong!! On her first date, in walked her childhood nemesis…Fletch. She just couldn’t get rid of the guy!!
How many times would she have to run into him before she realized the universe was trying to tell her something? Would she be able to take a chance on him or was the hate too much?
Julia’s books are always a good time and Feisty did not disappoint! It was a laugh out loud, sweet, and sexy read. Can’t wait to see what will be in store for Hasty!!
If you have read Fluffy and Perky like me you will be excited to read Feisty’s story.
When I started this and read the first few chapters my heart stopped until I could see which way this was going to go. I knew I was going to love Feisty but I wasn’t prepared for how much! Despite her hating her nickname she well and truly earned it this time and was an absolute hero.
Fletch, well he made me swoon, from the minute he appeared and protected Feisty all the way through the book. He was the whole package!! Perfect combination of seriously hot mixed with strong and sweet.
I’m not sure how Julia gets her ideas but I was honestly crying with laughing during one chapter! Will and Fletch honestly brought tears to my eyes with their bromance and the Urine Perimeter!
Well done Julia for yet another entertaining read that I loved from beginning to end.
Love this series!! An absolute favorite.
Feisty is super fun, laugh out loud funny, snarky and entertaining.
Feisty lives up to her nickname, protects her young charges at her preschool school, ends up getting more than just media attention.
“Want a sparkling water? A coffee? Cookies? A half gallon of vodka?”
“You’re getting closer.”
Chris “Fletch” Fletcher dubbed Fiona “Feisty” after she drop kicked him in seventh grade and she is still holding a grudge. Fletch holds no grudge but he wants to be holding Feisty. He will have to work hard to get past her defenses.
This story is part of The Do-Over series and has interconnected characters with Fluffy and Perky but all of them could be read as standalones.
-4.5 Stars!!-
A funny date app rom-com read.
I so enjoy these books and can’t get enough of them! With them you never know what is going to come out of their mouths and what the guys are gonna do themselves. This one had me laughing so hard and glued to my kindle. Feisty aka Fiona, hasn’t liked Chris Fletcher since he made up the stupid nickname in high school. Sure they’ve seen each other over the years and the reunion but she’s made it her mission not to get to close. When a scary encounter happens at her preschool, she is thrusted into the limelight and Fletch again. He suddenly appears everywhere she is and just happens they are in the same wedding as well. This is when things get good. Fiona is all about crystals and making sure her energy is right. When she is told something from her healer, she doesn’t want to believe it. The more time these two spend together and let go of the past, they realize how easy they work and flow together. Every thing just starts flowing right in the world after this minus the most hilarious scene I have read in a long time. Oh my God you will laugh until you cry with this one!!!!
Amusing, spiritual, and sweet.
“When someone else decides your identity out of spite, it sucks. When that same someone turns out to be your source of help in your greatest time of need, it rocks your world to the core.”
Fiona AKA Feisty Gaskill was saddled with her much hated nickname when she was twelve after she dropkicked Chris Fletcher. Unfortunately, she had to live with it until she escaped to college and reinvented herself. Nowadays, she living in her hometown and working as a kindergarten teacher, and has spent the last seventeen years avoiding Chris. However, one traumatic day, she falls back on her natural fighting instincts in a potential lethal situtation – a situation that brings much unwanted public attention. Surprisingly, the one person who seems to be able to calm her and help her is Chris.
“The kiss comes, unexpected but oh, so right. Fletch’s mouth is inevitable, lips on mine like fate herself stepped into the frame and ordered us to do this.”
This was a great, easy read. Fiona is big on spirituality and focusing her energy on things that matter. The change in her relationship with Chris was lovely and exciting to witness. He’s such a genuine guy but she’s spent so many years hating on him for something that happened when they were kids. I loved the way he wanted to protect her and take care of her. All in all, a fun read with some depth, too.
This has become one of my favorite series!! I have been impatiently waiting for Fiona’s book & I wasn’t disappointed! Watching Fletch try to make up for his youthful misdeeds, and break through the walls that Fiona has built up over the years. Gahhhh! I loved watching the two of them together. The whole book was amazing & I didn’t want to put it down!!
I didn’t know that I needed to read this until I did! Such a great story!! Julia Kent is an AMAZING writer and I’m so glad that I continuously pick up her books to read! In this book, Feisty, she writes an Enemies to Lovers storyline that had me giggling and full out laughing, it was incredible while also being realistic and relatable. While also having such strong friendships and bonds..just great!
Chris and Fiona are just such great characters that I wish their story could just go on forever. I may not have read the other books in the series, but they can definitely be read as standalones and I will be reading the others soon!
* I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.*
I’m super torn on choosing between Fiesty, Perky and Fluffy on being my favorite… I both Fiona and Fletch as much as I love the other couples… but Fiona is such a bad ass, you can’t help but just love her!!
Fletch is the person from Fiona’s past that she’s never been able to forgive 17 years after she drop kicked him for kissing her… but that wasn’t what made her hate Fletch but that he started the nickname Fiesty for her that she can’t get away from.
Fiona has to use her mad skills when one of the parents comes to the daycare with a weapon, and that brings Fletch back into her life. She tries to ignore him, but the sparks are insane.
Julia Kent is a fantastic author who’s books never fail to make me laugh hysterically. I love Fiesty, and I love this series. I highly recommend this series!!!
I recieved an ARC for my honest review.
Feisty and Fletch sizzle with a love-hate, push-pull attraction that began with a drop-kick in seventh grade and resolves into a love affair driven by Tim Tams, a dating app, and fate. Another don’t-miss title from the queen of rom com.
Great story!!! I think Fiona aka Feisty is my favorite character!! Chris and Fiona are great and I love their banter…if you like rom-com, then this story is for you!!!
I received a complimentary ARC – early release copy of this book in Kindle format from the author for review purposes.
This is a new author for me and I have only read the first book in this series before but I really loved Feisty and Chris. Its a story told in the first person from Feisty aka Fiona view point and its about moving past the past and letting things and hurts go and seeing the future you can have.
F is a preschool teacher and she has a really bad day. I mean really BAD!! But during that day she protects a child and that child is her former nemesis, Chris’ nephew and that brings him back into her life as she I slightly injured.
I loved both characters they were sweet and honest and just a lot of fun. I loved this 2nd chance at romance with a lot of feistiness.I also loved how Chris really thanks F for teaching him how he should treat women and it made me absolutely adore him.
F is not just feisty but she belies in a higher power and so she is a very unique or quirky character but she is also kind and huge sweetheart. I really loved her so much and Chris was a wonderful romantic lead for her.
I love Julia Kent’s work and I love this series —this is Feisty’s story and what a story it is. She truly is feisty and completely fierce in my opinion.
Feisty got her nickname from Chris Fletcher in seventh grade after she drop kicked him when he wouldn’t take no for an answer when he tried to kiss her. She has hated that nickname and him for many years, so why after a scary situation in her preschool classroom is she staring at Chris’s face and feeling things that she shouldn’t be feeling?
These two have a past and they also are sharing a common feeling with dealing with the present and the scary situation at Feisty’s school, but the real question is……will they ever have a future? Can Feisty see Chris for who he is now and let go of all the pain that the nickname has caused her? Are they only having feelings because of the classroom situation? Will there be a happily ever after? These questions will all get answered and more if you just order this book.
This story can be read as a standalone, but do yourself a favor and read the first two books before this one. You will just have a more in-depth understanding of all the characters and it will just add to the story. As with Julia Kent’s books, you can totally expect to laugh out loud at the antics and situations that the characters get into and say, plus enjoy some sexy scenes. I hope you enjoy Feisty’s story as much as I did.
Another fun romp with Mallory, Perky and now Feisty Fiona who will finally get her sexy man. Fiona is great and so full of many emotions. Even though she has tried so hard to avoid her nemesis from middle school, Fletch keeps intruding in her life. When did he get so hot? Now if the universe will just show her he is the one. That’s the fun on part. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Cute, dramatic story!
Chris and Fiona were childhood nemeses and one of them never really outgrew that. This book definitely had some real world drama which throws these two back together again.
It was a little New Agey for me, but I did enjoy both “Fletch” and “Feisty” together!
The story is a lot more than the blurb suggests – some of it may be a little disturbing to read, but you find out how kicka** Fiona is!!
This has been a fun series to read. If you want an enjoyable read and sweet, steamy romance – pick up this series.
I voluntarily requested and read an uncorrected advance reader copy.
