I’m not to proud to admit that finding Mr. Right involves swiping right. Right? Welcome to dating in avocado toastland. Here I am, on my first blind date, ever, courtesy of a smartphone app and my two annoying best friends. So what is Chris “Fletch” Fletcher doing, walking across the room, looking at his phone like he’s pattern matching a picture to find a real person he’s never met before?Oh.Oh, … met before?
Oh.
Oh, no.
The guy I drop-kicked in seventh grade cannot be my blind date. The guy who earned me this infernal nickname.
That’s right.
Feisty.

Feisty is the story of Fiona (Feisty) and Chris (Fletch). After dropkicking Fletch in the seventh grade when he tried to kiss her, Fiona earned the nickname Feisty, and has resented him for it since. Years later, after going through a traumatic experience, Fletch helps her, and Fiona has to decide if it’s really worth still hating him. Maybe she should date him, instead?
The books in this series are always easy reads, with each one incorporating characters and details from the past books. Fiona is not as out there as say, Perky – but she has her own quirks and was still fun to read. I look forward to reading the next one!
Feisty (The Do-Over Series, Book 3) is a rom-com with a flair. Fiona “Fiesty” Gaskill and her girlfriends will have you laughing at their antics. I like hearing Chris “Fletch” Fletcher call Fiona Fiesty. Its hilarious as her reaction is comical. The beginning was intriguing and then it went flat a bit in the middle. This is a entertaining listen and I’m looking forward to the next audio to be released.
Narrator Erin Mallon is articulate and smooth in her performance. The perfect choice to narrate this romantic comedy series.
Her inflection was on point.

You really can’t go wrong with these books, I’ve enjoyed the past 2 books and this wasn’t the exception.
This book is really easy to listen to, fast, and very entertaining, with really funny moments that made me laugh.
Fiona & Chris were perfect for each other, I’m glad she decided to leave her resentment towards him and give him a chance.
Erin Mallon was really great as always, her narration of this book was perfect, you cannot go wrong with her.

Feisty by Julia Kent is a romantic comedy that I listened to on audio narrated by Erin Mallon. This is the third book in The Do-Over Series but each book can be read as a standalone. However, I would recommend reading in order since it does reference characters from the previous books.
Julia does an amazing job making the characters very relatable. You just can’t help but fall in love with Chris (Fletcher) and Fiona (Feisty).
Erin did an amazing job on the narration. I love that she uses different voices/tones for each character it really brings the story to life.
I would highly recommend this series to anyone who loves romantic comedies or enemies to lover’s romance.

Once again, I absolutely loved Fiona (aka Feisty) and Chris’ (aka Fletch) story. This one was a little more serious than the other two, but still has plenty of moments where I was laughing out loud while I was reading. Fiona is such a free spirit and when she takes charge man – she is a force to be reckoned with. Chris is so sweet and compassionate, I loved how he was protective over her even when she was unsure of her attraction to him. There is a push and pull, but no OW/OM issues and a realistic happily ever after.
I really do like how Julia has built up this series, interweaving all the characters within it while giving each their own story. You will see the characters from the other two books, even though this can be read as a standalone I do advise to enjoy the first two that way you know you know Mal and Will’s and Perky and Parker’s stories. Now, I can’t wait for Hasty’s story! Is it time yet? Lol
Loved the characters in the series. This is the first book I have read in this series and now I need to go back and read the first two!!! Fiona (Perky) and Chris (Fletch) have known each other since childhood. He gave her the nickname “Fiesty” and she has resented him ever since. She’s a formidable person, who is a preschool teacher. She will do anything to protect the people she cares about. The universe keeps putting these two in each others paths. I love the way Julia Kent has created these characters and their backgrounds. I really enjoyed reading Fiona and Chris’s story and am looking forward to going back to read the first two, as well as the fourth and last book.
Feisty is the 3rd book in the Do-Over series and I loved it. This romantic comedy was hilarious, and I loved Fiona and Chris together. They had great chemistry and their banter had me amused. The addition of Fiona’s friends added another layer of hilarity and there were certain times during this story I was laughing aloud. This novel had a bit of it all, action, emotion, swoon and steam, likable, relatable characters and a plot that will hold your attention. I enjoyed it all and would highly recommend this novel to all lovers of romantic comedies.
The audiobook version was narrated by Erin Mallon, who has become one of my favorite narrators. She adds her own flair and style to the narration and accurately portrays these characters bringing the story to life. It was a pleasure listening to her narrate this novel.

I think Julia Kent’s trilogy ending with Feisty is hysterical.
Fiona hated her nickname Feisty. Chris Fletcher gave her in 7th grade. when he kissed her. Then she kicked his butt. She carried that hate throughout her adult life. All Fletcher wanted to do was make amends and become friends. This story has drama, danger, love, and a lot of laugh out loud moments. I enjoyed listening to this story narrated by Erin Mallon! She transitioned flawlessly between characters.

This is the first book I’ve read/listened to by Julia Kent. You can enjoy this book without having read the others in the Do-Over series, though recurring characters feature prominently and there were references to what I assume are events in earlier books.
The writing was interesting with descriptions, comparisons and a great Mr. Rogers quote.
I listened to the Audible version. It’s not the first book I’ve listened to performed by Erin Mallon, but she continues to be one of my favorite narrators. Her performance adds to the story.

Feisty
The Do-Over Series, Book 3
By: Julia Kent
Narrated by: Erin Mallon
When I need to laugh, Julia Kent is one of my go to listens. I know she will bring a smile to my face and warm my heart. This third book in the Do Over series certainly meets the bill for both with laugh out loud moments and heartfelt romance. We have Fiona, aka “Feisty” and Chris. These two have a history and it’s not all love and roses. These two have been sparring for years. Fiona is a pre k teacher and it shows just how tough she can be. But is she tough enough? Chris has a lot to make up for and this slow burn gives him the time he needs to decide what to do. And with friends like these two have, we get glimpses of love and laughter along with fantastic friendships. Kent takes us along for their ride, let’s us enjoy the ups and downs, laugh and love.
Erin Mallon is always amazing but I especially love her when she reads romcoms. She has perfect comedic timing and her voices spot on. And from book to book she keeps her characters consistent. I her every time!

We all have that one person from high school who we could go the rest of our lives never seeing again. For Fiona “Feisty” that person is none other than the creator of the nickname Chis. The story has a very tense dramatic start. It brings our two main characters together under some pretty dark circumstances. from there we have a slow burn into one fulfilling HEA.
This is a really fun listen, Feisty is little miss quirky. There will be times you want to shake her a bit. I mean Chris is just delicious and it’s hard to believe anything could be so bad you wouldn’t board that train immediately.
Erin Mallon is a genius and I could listen to her forever.
If you already love the series of course continue on but even if you start here you can still have a good time.

“Feisty” is the third book in the Do-Over series, and delivers another fun, crazy and comedic installment as this hilarious bunch of friends continue on their path together, focusing now on Fiona and Chris and their enemies-to-lovers romance. Fiona’s character intrigued me from the start of this series, because there was this badass allure about her, which is very contradictory to her profession as a preschool teacher. The opening scene sets the stage, and we finally get to see kickass Fiona in action! Chris is the perfect match for Fiona, surprising her at every step of the way. Although they were teenage enemies, Fiona’s self-discoveries allow her to move past her misgivings and accept their attraction for what it is and what it’s always been. If you love rom-com, I would definitely recommend this series. The author writes such laugh-out-loud scenes, as this colorful bunch of characters is always finding themselves in some hilarious scenario. You’ll definitely find yourself relating to one or all of them!
Listened on audio: I’m in continuous awe of Erin Mallon’s performance throughout this series, and how perfectly she brings these quirky characters to life. She accentuates the funny and elevates the story to a whole other level of entertainment!

Fiona (Feisty) – A nickname she has been saddled with since middle school when Fletch tried to kiss her. Ugh! She hates it. She’s tried to embrace all things in fierce opposition to that particular word, creating a life of peace and balance. Except feisty is a part of her and when she needs to draw from it, said personality manifests in spades. Hence the parent she took down at the preschool who was a danger to herself, her students, and her staff. Knowing she had no other choice but to protect, feisty rose again. Roaring while standing on the back of the offending parent, in fact. Feist strikes again and creates so much drama both good and bad. Most poignant is the ridiculous attraction between herself and Fletch, whose brother-in-law tried to go postal on her classroom. Now she’s in the midst of a bit of an identity crisis. She’s fought her feisty persona for so long and refuses to concede to that side of her as necessary in any capacity. But the more time she spends with Fletch, the more she begins to question herself. And the more confusion her relationship with Fletch causes, the more she determines to pull away. But Fletch isn’t having it. Fiona has to make a decision. Embrace who she is – all parts of herself – and take a chance on love with him – or continue to live in miserable denial.
Chris (Fletch) – has wanted Fiona since their school years. When he tried to make a move in their tween years, she laid him out flat. He never tried it again, and the incident actually makes an unexpected impression Fletch, ultimately impacting who he grew up to be. Fiona, of course, has no idea and if Chris is going to get anywhere with her, he’s going to have to come clean. Sure, she’s Feisty – but she’s so much more and she refuses to see it. Reunited through an upcoming wedding, he’s now spending a lot more time with her because his nephew is one of her students. He’s also the rescuing EMT and her long-time nemesis. But the more time he manages to carve out with her, the better chance he has to convince her to give him a shot. He’s confident that they could be something fantastic together, but Fiona is going to need a lot more convincing. And even though Chris is waging a full out war in seduction, just being the seemingly perfect human being that he is seems to be working in his favor as well. Of course being a hot, buff, EMT might have just a smidge to do with it as well. He’ll take what he can get from Fiona for now, treading carefully around those consuming emotions she refuses to analyze. If he’s patient, with time, she’ll be the one making the move toward their future.
I went back and forth a couple of times with this book. Initially, I was completely enthralled with the prologue. I mean who wouldn’t be caught up with such an opening? Things progressed well initially, but after a while I began to think Fiona was a bit too quirky, a bit too odd in behavior and mannerisms, and a bit too new-age for me to be able to like her, much less form any type of reader-character attachment. However, I have read Ms. Kent in the past and adored her stories, so I hung in there, hoping my opinion would be altered. And man am I glad that I did! But first, let’s unpack what I felt was a bit over the top … Fiona possesses an uncanny ability to produce a parking spot wherever she goes using a divining rod. I bit odd, yes. But no big deal. She is also heavily into auras, chakras, and energy. Be one with the earth and all that. So the odd factor goes up a bit for me personally. Then she absolutely refuses to acknowledge her feisty side as part of herself, which was off given her beliefs. You wouldn’t fight your inner self, you would harness the energy and draw from it when needed. Wouldn’t you? I just thought it all a bit over the top. It doesn’t sound like much now, but when you are reading it, it’s quite intense. She even goes to a woman who she looks to for guidance. Jolene, I think it was. And even she tries to tell Fiona what she needs to do, just like Fletch ultimately does. However, once I came to understand that she wasn’t actually trying to avoid certain behaviors but purge a fundamental piece of herself out of existence, much more became clear and didn’t seem all that odd any longer. Fiona is so stuck in who she doesn’t want to be that she loses sight of who she is and who is standing in front of her – has always been standing right. In. Front. Of. Her.
Oddities aside, I began to really enjoy this book. Fletch is the quintessential example of the perfect guy. He’s got it all and I do mean all! His patience with Fiona is almost too sweet, but ultimately his depth of emotion for her leads her to introspection. She opens herself to new experiences, discovers and embraces who she really is, and even opens her heart to Fetch. Woven throughout the heavy and cajoling is a ton of comedy, adding a wonderful amount of humor to the story. Beneath all of the comedy is a beautiful love story born of risk and the willingness to take a chance; or second chance as the case may have been. Probably the most comical scene involved a bear, a lot of beer, drunkenness, and a whole lot of pee. And that’s all I will say about that. You want to know, you will have to find out yourself. And that isn’t the only hilarious scene. This book is packed with several instances of “foot meet mouth”. You’ll be chuckling quite a bit while reading through this book. I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed the ratio theory and have every intention of trying peanut butter in my tacos the next chance I get. Don’t ask. Just read the book. The sensual scenes are few and nothing too risqué, but somewhat descriptive, none-the-less. Now I will say that this book is a part of a series and is third in line. Besides being ridiculously aggravated with myself for not realizing I had the previous book and could have read that one first, I do not believe that reading in order is a must do. Sure, it would have been nice to read about the previous couples, but in no way did I feel like I was missing anything simply from reading out of order. While I have yet to look into the previous installments, I did get a glimpse into the succeeding book and am quite curious as to how that will work out given the strange personality of Hasty. Although I believe, from what little I know, that her nickname is beyond appropriate. To wrap this up, I recommend this book to anyone wanting a heart-felt journey of self-discovery, inspiring love, a quirky cast of characters including a female lead that may be just a smidge over the top, a male lead that is perfect in every way, and humor that will keep you laughing long after you’ve read the story.

Fiona (aka Feisty) is a preschool teacher. Her nemesis since 7th grade Chris (aka Fletch) is an EMT
who has always had an interest in Fiona. Fletch’s exbrother-in-law breaks into the school where
Fletch’s nephew is a student his father attacks Fiona who literally takes the man down with
a sweeping kick. 911 is called and the Police and the EMT’s come to the rescue. The story takes
off from there with a chemistry between Feisty and Fletch which cannot be denied. Feisty cannot
come to terms with this attraction. The book has a lot of light moments and laughs which tie
in to the previous books in The Do Over series. Julia Kent’s humor comes through again.
This is my favorite book in this series. Fiona hates Chris Fletcher. In seventh grade, Chris tried to kiss Fiona, and she drop kicked. This earned her the dreaded nickname Feisty, and her never ending hatred of Chris. It is now 17 years later and Fiona is a pre-school teacher and Chris is a gym owner and a paramedic. Chris’s brother-in-law breaks into the school with a weapon to take his son. Fiona gets the kids out and proceeds to disarm him. It is all caught on the webcam and she become famous. Of course, Chris is one of the first responders on the scene, and this one sided hatred starts to change. There is a lot of humor in this book, and both a Chris and Fiona are likable characters. Overall, an enjoyable read.
I hope Julia Kent keeps the Do-Over series coming fooooorever because I will never be done with these fun, memorable characters getting their second chances!
I always love Julia Kent’s books. They never disappoint.
Do-Over Book Three.
Fiona “Feisty” Gaskill has been defined by a single moment in her childhood for her whole life. Even after high school, Fiona was so determined NOT to be Feisty that her life was still dictated by that word. Now, Chris “Fletch” Fletcher is back and they keep running into each other as if fate has decided they must meet again. When Fiona’s class is invaded by a dangerous dad, she is forever immortalized again as Feisty Fighter – the teacher who saved her class by kicking the dad. Fiona and Fletch finally agree to see each other and they realize that their chemistry might just be worth the trouble.
If you’ve been waiting for Feisty, the story does not disappoint.

This book was high on my list after listening to Perky. Julia sure delivered and Chris Fletcher was so swooney. And REALLY only 1 more book!!! Ahhhh, Hasty, gosh I can’t wait to see what happens with that one, bc I already added it to my TBR and that blurb sounds interesting!
Gah! I love Erin Mallon’s narration!!!! I just love how carefree she seems reading Rom-Com’s her voice just does it for me and fits well with all of these characters in this series.
