From “the next major voice in Southern fiction” (Elin Hilderbrand) and the bestselling author of the Peachtree Bluff series comes an odd-couple tale of friendship that asks just how much our past choices define our happiness.
It’s summertime on the North Carolina coast and the livin’ is easy.
Unless, that is, you’ve just lost your mother to cancer, your sister to her extremist husband, and your husband to his executive assistant. Meet Gray Howard. Right when Gray could use a serious infusion of good karma in her life, she inadvertently gets a stranger, Diana Harrington, fired from her job at the local pharmacy.
Diana Harrington’s summer isn’t off to the greatest start either: Hours before losing her job, she broke up with her boyfriend and moved out of their shared house with only a worn-out Impala for a bed. Lucky for her, Gray has an empty guest house and a very guilty conscience.
With Gray’s kindness, Diana’s tide begins to turn. But when her first love returns, every secret from her past seems to resurface all at once. And, as Gray begins to blaze a new trail, she discovers, with Diana’s help, that what she envisioned as her perfect life may not be what she wants at all.
In her warmest, wisest novel yet, Kristy Woodson Harvey delivers a discerning portrait of modern womanhood through two vastly different lenses. Feels Like Falling is a beach bag essential for Harvey fans–and for a new generation of readers.

Great Women Fiction – Clean Chick Lit
This wonderful story has all the feels! One year in the life of a group of friends, old and new. Taking care of each other and helping through crisis and drama. It has some good messages. The reader will finish the book with a smile on her face. I received this ARC book for free from Net Galley and this is my honest review.
I am so in the mood for Summer and nothing says Summer better than this newest read by Kristy Woodson Harvey. After reading so many thrillers, I was in the mood for something lighter. This fit the bill perfectly. Wonderful characters, friendship, romance and, of course, a little drama. This book just flows easily from one character to another seamlessly. Due out on 4/28, it will be the perfect start to your summer reading.
Gray, 34, lady boss, rich, separated. Diana, 40, down on her luck, single. Two women who couldn’t be more opposite are thrown together by chance. Gray with her huge heart seems to take Diana under her wing, but who saves who? They end up with an unlikely friendship, helping each more than they could have ever thought possible. Family, isn’t always about being related by blood, it’s finding people who come into your life at unexpected times, see you at your lowest and help raise you up.
Thanks to Ms. Harvey, Tall Poppy Writers and Gallery Books for this ARC. Opinion is mine alone.
Gray’s husband just left her for a younger woman. She owns her company and her husband is trying to that as well. Diana is fired from her job and had just left her loser boyfriend so now she is homeless and jobless. Gray helps Diana with a job and a place to live and they become friends. Each woman’s life is completely different from the other but they are strong women and have so much more in common than they know. I really enjoyed this book of friendship, new beginnings, and love. I received an advanced readers copy and all opinions are mine own.
An uplifting story about friendship.
Gray and Diana couldn’t have been more opposite. But together, they form a friendship that neither expected. They help each other through some of their toughest days.
I really liked the characters in this book. I felt like I really knew them through the author’s words. The story had all the elements I crave in a book, strong characters, great setting and enough details to make me feel like I am right there with them. The story was emotional at times and kept me flipping the pages until the end.
I am almost ashamed to say this is the first book I have read by this author, but it definitely won’t be the last.
Feels Like Falling by author Kristy Woodson Harvey is another delightful book set on the Carolina coast with wonderful characters. The different scenes in this book will have you laughing and others will have you sobbing. The unlikely friendship of Gray and Diana is filled with emotional dilemmas and leads to second chances in each of their lives. Gray does not intend to cause Diana to lose her job in the photo department of the pharmacy. Diana has learned to take advantage of even the hard knocks in her life. She gives Gray some of the best support during their time together. I loved the energy of their friendship and problem-solving as their lives took different paths.
Gray is struggling with the divorce settlement and custody agreement as her soon to be ex goes his merry way with her money. Diana has become homeless and almost broken in her spirit as she tries to save enough money to start her deli business in an old boat, Both of the women have family estrangements and then reconciliations. Feels Like Falling is a superbly written book about the highs and lows in life and the healing therapy of friendship.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.
This is the first book that I have ever read by this author and I must say that I will look for more of her light, easy reading in the future. Set in the beautiful coastline of North Carolina, the book has a story to tell about lasting friendships and unexpected events in life that help to shape us. The main characters, Gray Howard and Diana Harrington, have both made some really poor choices in life leading to current consequences that are molding them into new women with a new purpose in life. Gray’s mom just died of cancer, her sister got married to a religious fanatic and her husband has left her for his executive assistant, a young woman that Gray actually hired. Thus, Gray is feeling alone and abandoned by happiness. Diana Harrington has left her boyfriend who is a gambling addict and is working a menial job at a photo shop when Gray comes in for a print job and ends up getting Diana fired. This begins an unlikely friendship that develops as the story continues. I fell in love with the author’s ability to weave a good story with good lessons in it. The themes of second chances and surprises in life that fulfill us more than we thought anything could. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Diana and Gray, with all of their weaknesses out there for all to see and all of the strength that carried them through as well. Fans of light romance will enjoy this newest book by Kristy Woodson Harvey.

A must read for anyone who loves Southern Fiction. This story has everything you could want-friendships (old & new), romance (old & new), a little family drama and a touch of humor to balance it all out! This book does alternate point of view from chapter to chapter-you get a little from Gray and a little from Diana, but it all comes together and flows beautifully. I found myself bring torn between wanting to read more and wanting to slow down and take my time, to make it last longer. Kristy Woodson Harvey never disappoints, you won’t want to miss this one!
Another great read by one of my favorite southern fiction authors!
I loved the friendship between Diana and Gray. Two different social statuses but with very similar issues of the heart.
There is something for everyone in this book. Friendships, starting over after a divorce and juggling your child with the ex, homelessness, a past revisited, and cougar dating!! Loved it all.
The characters are so real; especially Diana and her honesty and humor.
Get ready for a great beach read in May 2020!
Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for the ARC for my honest opinion.
We meet the two protagonists at personal low points. Watching them be brave enough to start over with new beginnings is inspiring.
How I loved this book, with its wonderful characters and a story that kept me turning page after page! Gray thought she had life figured out: successful business, happy marriage, sweet son—until her husband left her at the same time she was facing the loss of her mother. Diana is homeless and jobless when she meets Gray. They are an unlikely pair, but that summer, each of them turns out to be just what the other needs! I loved these two women so much—watching their friendship grow, watching their lives take unexpected turns. Kristy Woodson Harvey has written an insightful, endearing, warm, and delightful story that will truly touch your heart.
This is a lovely book about the turns life can take when you step out of your comfort zone to truly live it. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Woodson Harvey books!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This book gave me all the feels. Going through a divorce, myself, I could completely relate to main character, Gray (and don’t you just love that name!?). This book was entertaining and inspirational, showing that all is not lost when a relationship ends. There are plenty of new beginnings to be found, if one keeps an open heart.
I’m so glad I discovered Kristy Woodson Harvey! I absolutely love her writing and her ability to tell such wonderful stories. Feels Like Falling is a touching summer story that takes place in the lovely coastal Carolina. From themes of family, friendships, hardships, and the one that got away, this book has it all! Feels Like Falling shows life through two very different lenses and perspectives, but in the end the pursuit of happiness is all that really matters.
This started out just being about Gray and life after a divorce. It turned into something so much more!
I loved the characters, they were fun and fresh! I really enjoyed the story and definitely recommend!
Thanks to Netgalley and the author for the early copy
Once again, Kristy Woodson Harvey has brought us into the middle of an emotional crisis. Her words will have your emotions spanning the spectrum from heartwrenching sorrow to anger to exasperation to laughter. The upheaval in the lives of the main characters will have you waiting to see what will happen next. The feeling of hope for what the future can hold will keep you waiting for the next episode.
The story is told from the viewpoint of two women who are the main characters. You will be drawn into their lives and you will be cheering them on one minute while your heart will ache along with them the next minute.
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for an ARC in exchange for my honest review. I look forward to another delightful story from the author.
Kristy Woodson Harvey this book is amazing! I laughed, I cried, I cheered, I cried again
What a beautiful book celebration of friends and families. Things start out rough but the road it travels brings you right into the hearts of Grey and Diana. I feel sad it ends want to follow them and find out what happens next. How about book 2?
Thank you to Net Galley and Kristy Woodson Harvey for this ARC. This review is my opinions and written from my heart.
