Who says you can’t have your cake and eat it too? After nearly two decades in the business chef and restaurateur Ewin Storm knows which ingredients mix well. And a relationship with an employee is a recipe for disaster. But when August catches his eye at a local culinary school, he knows he needs to taste the intriguing omega. Maybe it’s time for an old alpha to learn something new about love?… something new about love?
Things are getting hot in the kitchen…
It’s a dream come true to work for Ewin Storm, but August is determined to keep things strictly professional with the older alpha. It doesn’t matter that he’s had a crush on the celebrity chef for years. He’s going to nail his new job and cement his place as a talented chef in his own right. But Ewin’s hands-on approach means they’re spending more and more time together – and soon the oven isn’t the only thing heating up.
A driven older alpha, a beautiful young omega, and a relationship that’s too intense to ignore. The ingredients shouldn’t mix, but some recipes break all the rules and taste better for it. Ewin and August will need to decide whether their passion is a one-night-only special, or if it should be added to the menu permanently.

Ewin is definitely drawn to August and fights it big time. He has a lot on his plate and he’s been burnt by romancing a coworker before. August had a crappy childhood filled with neglect and abandonment. I liked that his past has driven him to reach for a better life. Once they give in to their attraction it just gets better. They fit together and complement one another’s personalities. I was so disappointed in Ewin when he lost his temper and wouldn’t listen or give August a chance to explain. The ending was satisfying.
Audiobook: I really enjoyed this narrator.
What a start of a new series. The characters came alive from the first pages. Some you love, others you want to hate. I got caught up in their lives, wanting to rush through things to see what happens next. There is a wonderful age-gap dynamic. There are lots of tasty moments, in and out of the kitchen. What’s not to love! Oh, did I mention mpreg?
This is Ewin and August’s story. August has dreamt of being a chef his entire life. When his idol, Ewin Storm, walks into his culinary class, he nearly faints with delight. Hired to work in Ewin’s new restaurant means working closely together. Ewin can’t help his attraction to August. The young omega calls to him like no one has ever done before. But rule one is always, the boss doesn’t bed the hired help. Too bad no one told his heart that.
Come. Join Ewin and August as they discover what truly matters. Yes, there is some angst. There are family moments, good and not so good. There are bumps on the road to HEA, but they will get there. You are gonna love this book!
This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex, and is intended for mature readers only.
I really enjoyed this book. It has two people who have to learn to trust one another. One has to trust the love of his life and the other has to trust not being abandoned by the one he loves.
August and Ewin have an intense story. Hung up on past experiences, Ewin nearly ruins everything. I was left wondering what the age gap was and what was Jared sabotaging meals with, but this did not take away from the story.
August is a young and talented chef. He has a chance for additional training in Paris at the end of his studies.
A new opportunity comes up when Ewin Storm decides to build a flagship restaurant in his hometown to be close to his ailing mother.
Ewin has always tried to foster a supportive kitchen environment- and there is at least one new hire he has made who is likely to upset that applecart. An arrogant young chef who is more ego than team who would like to destroy as much as possible for personal amusement and gain.
When trouble bubbles up in the Storm kitchen that cannot be ignored or explained away as accidental, Ewin makes some errors in judgement that cost more than him dearly.
My opinion: August should stick it out – follow his heart, but demand that the egos do not trample him. Omegas deserve not just admiration and affection , but real respect!
Hot stuff cooking in the kitchen!
