I can feel the darkness seeping through the pages. Princess Ophelia is the oldest daughter of the Sokolov family. They’re not royalty but who’s willing to question the king of the mafia family. She’s daddy’s princess but that doesn’t mean he’ll overlook his duty or hide her from his ruthlessness.
She falls in love with a Marino boy when she’s five years old, but daddy offers her hand in marriage to his brother on the same day. Max knows her heart lies with his brother Ryker. Ophelia seeks him out every chance she gets, but he’s cruel and flaunts other women in her face. During her 18th birthday party she must endure betrayal, embarrassment and a devastation she would never see coming.
Revenge is best as a dish served cold and this is icy. He’ll take great pleasure in taming his new little bird. His aim is to break her, she’s a little defiant and headstrong though…so it’s about to get very interesting watching her live in a gilded cage
I look forward to reading the next book in this twisted tale. Ophelia no longer lives the golden life, but a life in a golden cage. I wonder if her dark captor will break her wings and her spirit to get her to sing. Can’t wait to see want happens next.
This book will rock your world. Feather by Fawn Bailey is the prequel to the Gilded Cage series and will give you the start to this series.
Ophelia is the Russian princess used to have everything she wants. When she’s 5 years old she meets the Marino brothers and is instantly attracted to Ryker. She formed a bond with both brothers until the day her father told her she was meant to marry Max.
On her eighteen birthday party her life changed drastically… And I can’t say more.
You need to grab this and get ready for this series that will rock you would forever.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
First this book is innocent and sweet, later cruel and bloody. Too short, I want more.
Ophelia Sokolov was the oldest child of a Russian Mafia kingpin. On her fifth birthday, her father announced her engagement to Max Morino. When Ophelia protested he had picked the wrong twin and she wanted Ryker, her father slapped her so hard she hit the ground. In this prequel, we see the three of them grow together until Ophelia’s eighteenth birthday when there was a massacre. All were killed except our three characters. Ophelia was only allowed to let one live. She chose Ryker. Max was taken away in a van. Ryker had his belly slit open by a sword. And Ophelia was kidnapped and taken to a dilapidated mansion to pay the price for something her father had done. This is powerful!! Fawn Bailey has immediately grabbed my attention and not let go making sure I’d want to continue reading this series. And I am so grateful.
This prequel gives us a delicious taste of what is to come in this new series. Packed with darkness, intensity, young love, the mafia, an arranged marriage, brutality, and a dangerous man bent on vengeance. Just a small look at what is to come but so worth it. I eagerly look forward to this series.
Feather is a great prequel to the Gilded Cage Series. Well developed strong characters, a great story line and twists that had me turning the pages frantically to find out what would happen next make this a 5-star read. I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for us as we go on this dark twisted ride of Ophelia’s.
Too short I have to read the next book
