“Decadent and romantic in every way, Feather exquisitely blurs the line between good and evil.” – CASEY L. BOND, author of When Wishes BleedIt was supposed to be a quick mission. The only thing quick about it was how rapidly I failed. With only a month left to earn her missing feathers, twenty-year-old Leigh embarks on a trip to Paris to meet her newest project, twenty-five-year-old Jarod Adler, … newest project, twenty-five-year-old Jarod Adler, leader of the Parisian Mafia and the worst kind of sinner . . . a Triple.
If Leigh can get Jarod to accomplish a single act of kindness, she stands to win 100 feathers, more than enough to complete her wings and ascend to Elysium, the land of angels.
What she doesn’t count on is Jarod’s dark charm costing her feathers.
She’s dead set on saving him, and he’s dead set on destroying her.
Until he realizes destroying her wings is also destroying her heart.
A heart he longs to hear beat only for him.
A modern ROMEO & JULIET retelling featuring an epic sinner and the angel who’ll stop at nothing to save him. Perfect for fans of dark supernatural romance.

I really enjoyed this. Great story and beautiful writing and I read it super fast. If you’re looking for another story to read this holiday weekend (or any time you have some extra leisure time) this is a great one to try. **NOT for kids. 😛 ADULTS only.
What can be said of a story that deeply touches our heart? It’s so greatly written: the scenarios are so well described that we can see it clearly on our mind without being bored, the characters are incredible being their qualities and flaws perfectly designed, apart from the fact that the narrative mainly takes place in Paris. Through Leigh’s rebelliousness and stubbornness, a system is criticized leading the ones around her start questioning it.
This book is one of my favorite reads this year. Feather is a Romeo and Juliet retelling but it’s not quite what you’d expect. Leigh has grown up believing that one day she will ascend. All she has to do is finish her wings. And in order to complete her wings, she has to convince sinners to do good and lower their score. She lives by a set of rules that she must not break or she risks losing her feathers, which in turn could potentially leave her wings unfinished by the time she has to ascend. I really enjoyed this book and how it progressed. Leigh is sort of naive about the real world even though she deals with sinners every day. She’s sweet and innocent. But then she takes on her biggest sinner ever in the hopes that she will be able to ascend within a month and compete for an advantageous match so she can change the way things are done. The cool thing about this book is that it takes a classic tale that everyone loves and kind of twists it. The story becomes a labyrinth of twists and turns you never saw coming, even when you think you have it pegged. You’re going to be on the edge of your seat with this one. Definitely 5 stars and 2 thumbs way up!!
5+ “ROMEO & JULIET” STARS!!!
It’s been two months since I read this book and I still don’t really know what to say. I just can’t get over those two and their story of beauty and tragedy. An angel in need of earning feathers. The leader of the Parisian mafia who is set in his ways. Can she save him? Does he even want redemption?
Jarod is Triple, the worst kind of sinner. If Leigh can make him accomplish one act of kindness she will earn all the feathers she needs to ascend before it’s too late. But instead of earning, she is losing them. Instead of changing him, who is changing the most is actually her. He was her mission, they were never supposed to fall in love but you can’t really keep soulmates apart.
I can’t express how much I love this forbidden story. It destroyed me in the most incredible way. This book is a thing of magic. It’s addictive and breathtaking. It’s original and unforgettable. It has the perfect balance of humor, steam, action and angst. I’m so amazed with this world Olivia created, her writing is so beautiful and refreshing, everything flows so well and I seriously couldn’t get enough. And to think this was supposed to be a standalone, let’s just say I’m forever grateful that she changed her mind.
Feather is the most intense emotional read I think that I will ever read. My brain can barely concentrate enough to write this review because it is so fried from that ending. WHAT? WHAT WAS THAT?! How could Olivia do that to us? Her loyal readers! I am both emotionally and mentally exhausted and don’t think I will ever get over this ending. This book gives your such warm feelings inside it lulls you into a sense of security unlike you’ve ever known. And then it incinerates your insides whilst completing annihilating your soul from your body.
Leigh is a angel and is only 81 feathers away from ascending to Elysium. She is the kindest, purest soul as she helps people around the world like all angels to gain her feathers for her wings. If she doesn’t she’ll lose them forever and no longer be immortal. A hopeless romantic she will only marry for love. Until Seraph Asher comes down looking for a mate and Leigh does something she never thought she would do. She chose to help a triple.
Jarod Adler, the mafia boss of Paris is a triple a dark and dangerous man with one of the highest scores in the ranking system. A rank that has never ever in his history of being in the system changed. But Jarod Adler is more than what he appears. Leigh sees this, but will her devotion to helping to save peoples souls mean the corruption of her own? Jarod convinces her to test the boundaries and Leigh finds herself doing things she never thought she would do ever.
Feather is an amazing and my first ever story focused just on Angels but it also one of the most soul destroying stories I have ever read. I am heartbroken, utterly and completely heartbroken. I feel like their is a deep dark void that light will never penetrate. That is how good Olivia’s writing is, it sucks your in, gets you invested in the characters like their old friends you’ve known for years. The audio narration only makes it better! Olivia just has a knack for choosing the right people to voice her characters to help bring her books even more to life.
The other characters in Leigh’s life intrigue me so much I am going to need to read their own stories. Celeste’s is a must is thankfully out but I would also like to read Muriel’s. Throughly enjoyable and one of my favourites of Olivia’s.
Oh my gosh I loved it. Romeo and Juliet with Angels and what an original concept!
I got this on KU and then added the audio and I am so glad I did as it was beautifully narrated by Holly Fielding. She brought every character trait and emotion to life.
This is a beautiful story, so well written I was floored by how much I loved the main character Leigh. She is a fledgling Angel that earns feathers with every good deed in order to ascend to Elysium. She takes on sinner Jared who is the leader of the Mafia. If she can get him to do a single act of kindness she will receive 100 feathers and complete her wings.
I loved his back story and believe it or not he is a pretty good guy but goes about things in a different way.
The world building is stunning and I loved every minute of Jared and Leigh’s journey.
The ending floored me so I can’t wait to start book 2. Highly recommend 5/5.
Silly me thought I didn’t care too much about stories with angels. Olivia Wildenstein proved me wrong.
It might be because I haven’t read many books about angels (as I said, I didn’t think it was my thing), but this was refreshing for me. In a dark, painful way.
There was a lot of sarcasm, so the humour alone was perfect for me. It was such a light-hearted read and flowed so well that Wildenstein is quickly becoming one of my few palette-cleanser authors. Feather was like tea and cake after a long day <3
But it was also heart-breaking. I don't want to spoil anything, but set some tissues aside for the end. I had so many ideas of what might happen, and the actual ending took all of those and beat them to death with a paperweight.
If you love a good paranormal urban fantasy with angels, you will *love* this.
Feather by Olivia Wildenstein is so beautifully written and so very devastating!! The audio version is very enjoyable and I was absolutely captivated till the end. Definitely an emotional ride!
This book was an incredible read i found it hard to put down i just had to know how it ended.
1st book in the angels of Elysium series this book had me on the edge of my seat such n emotional roller coaster.
Dive in to the world of angels n sinners. Join Leigh’s journey as she picks a triple to complete her wings n rise to Elysium but its not as simple as it seems jump in n find out for yourselves
This is one of the most emotional Rollercoaster rides I have read in a long time. I couldn’t put this book down the characters the world and story build are magnificent, the relationship between Leigh and Jarod is smoldering and keeps you guessing. The ending is a real tear jerker and I can’t wait to start the next book about Celeste to find out if they get their happy ending. I would give it 1000 stars if I could its that good
I really hate cliff hangers but this was a pretty clean one at least. I can not wait to get into the next book.
Note: I received this book from the author and I voluntarily give this review, it is my honest opinion.
I am destroyed! Olivia Wildenstein has written another great book, Feather is the first book in her new series, Angels of Elysium. Feather is a loosely based Romeo and Juliet story but with angels and it was everything.
The main female character, Leigh, is a fledgling angel who is trying to earn her wings to ascend to her angelic home, Elysium, by helping humans (sinners) while living on Earth. Leigh is kind, beautiful, dutiful, compassionate, curious and so much more, Leigh is truly a good soul and I love her so much. While trying to earn her feathers she meets a gorgeous sinner name, Jarod. Jarod has been marked the worse of humankind by the angels but there is more to him, to his story and when Leigh finds out she is determined to save him.
Olivia recreates Romeo and Juliet in a way that is beautiful, lively and heartbreaking. I was so engrossed in the story, I loved every second of it even while it was destroying me. I haven’t read many angel books but I love the angelic system in Feather. Young angels called fledglings have to earn their wings by reforming human sinners, they live on earth in a special angelic boarding home, they blend-into human society while trying to help reform humans. However the deeper you go into the story you realize that angels aren’t perfect and when Leigh starts to discover the problems in her world she is determined to fix them.
Jarod is the main male character, at first, I thought he was a bit childish when it came to emotions but as the story went on I started to understand him a lot better and eventually I just fell in love with him. Jarod is such a complex character with a difficult background but the way he comes through, dark (not in a bad way), charismatic, and caring. Jarod is the type of person that is very difficult to get to know but when you do you see that he puts up walls and that what’s behind the walls is very different from what he presents to the world.
I love Jarod and Leigh together, he showed her the world, how to live, made her question things that she had never questioned before. While Leigh showed him that people are good, that most people are worth saving and what he could be if he just tried. They complimented and completed each other in such a beautiful way.
Feather was such an intriguing and beautiful story, that was filled with art and food, angels and devils, love and friendship and so much more. I adored Feather so much, the ending killed me but I am ready for the next book in the series, Celestial and while I have no clue what could possibly happen in the story I hope that some wrongs are righted.
Move over Shakespeare. Romeo and Juliet in the realm of Elysium is the story I didn’t know I needed in my life.
Feather is worth more than in my book! This #ennemtolovers #pnr by @olives21 has it all:
An angel determined to save her sinner to marry the most eligible seraph in Elysium
A sinner whose endgame is to make her fail her mission
a delicious and scorching love story with all the details
a subplot so good that it could be read on its own…
the love story, the coming of age story, the questionning of a seemingly perfect world, in short, all that makes a great novel
If I had to pick one moment, it would be when Jarod said “Lie to me Feather so that if Asher lowers my score tonight, or tomorrow, or the next week, it doesn’t rip you from my arms. Please.”
It broke my heart and mended it at the same time. This is just one of the many many gripping moments of the story but I don’t want to spoil the plot.
Everything in the worldbuilding makes sense. Every character has their use. We get to see and feel at the same time as Leigh our FMC and oh, what wouldn’t I give to have Jarod’s pov…
From start to finish, from prologue to epilogue every aspect of this story is crafted to keep you turning the pages.
I picked the version and soon learned not to miss a word that is narrated. I took every chance I got to listen to it.
This story also reminded me how much I love Paris. It made me want to go back there, stroll into some of the most renown streets before settling back to a terasse in my favourite quaint Parisian neighborhood for “un macaron et un thé” or as would Leigh translate for the non French readers, “a macaroon and a tea”.
This will haunt me for days if not more. My heart is still racing at that ending and I can’t wait to get my hands on book 2 #Celestial which fortunately is coming out in January. I cannot live not knowing what that epilogue entails!!!

What would you sacrifice for love?
Feather is not for the faint of heart. You need to prepare yourself. I can unequivocally say that the story is worth the heartbreak. Jarod and Leigh are such an intense, passionate and romantic set of characters. The world building is so excellent.
I loved this story, and maybe I can admit I hated it a little bit too.
The story is so unbelievably beautiful.
Some books are important because they do not deliver that happily ever after. Why do we torture ourselves? Because they remind us that love is the greatest emotion and in life it is not always rainbows and unicorns. In life love can be messy and imperfect. In life love can hurt as much as it can save.
I think after I let this one settle, I’ll read it again.
I absolutely loved this book, it hooked me from the very beginning. What a beautiful love story packed full of emotion that warmed my heart even as it was breaking it.
Feather was the first book I’ve read, well listened to by this author but, it will not be my last. I loved the sound of the blurb, but I was not expecting such a rich story full of depth and feeling. Told from Leigh’s pov, the female narrator was excellent and had a very expressive voice. She fit it perfectly.
Angels and sinners……. secrets, lies, betrayal, sins and injustice on one side, the purest heart and soul deep love on the other. Leigh must help sinners redeem themselves to earn her feathers so she can ascend from Earth to Elysium as an angel. She needs over 80, so when a triple (one who will earn her 100 feathers) is placed in her path, she is determined to help him, despite the warnings that he is the worst of his kind. Many before her have tried and failed, but there is a lot more to Jarod than meets the eye. He doesn’t want redemption, but the deeper Leigh gets involved, it becomes more about justice and love than the feathers she needs. I really loved both of these characters, there was so much depth to them and a lot more than I imagined.
This amazing book will break your heart and make you think. When I started listening to it, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Leigh and Jarod have buried themselves in my heart. This book was beautiful, thought provoking and devastating. With twists and turns, at times it wrecked me. I never saw that ending coming, however I’m still full of hope after the epilogue with the intriguing Asher. I’ve laughed, swooned and sobbed, I absolutely loved it. It warmed me inside even as it broke me. I cant wait for the next book in the series, Celestial, because I’m sure it will mend my broken bits…I hope!!
Forbidden romance at its sexiest! I was enthralled from the first page, and the heartbreaking ending left me in desperate need of the sequel!
This book has an enemy to lovers feel and i guess it is now that I think about it. You’ve got your beautiful niave Leigh who want to save everyone and dark, gorgeous Jarod who wants to destroy her. The twist and turns in this book are crazy. I was so caught up that I stayed up all night reading. I’ve never experienced a book hangover like this. I cannot wait for the next book
I love Olivia Wildenstein books, have for awhile now…..but this book was on another level! This book gutted me emotionally….and I want more! Can’t wait for the next book it was freaking amazing!
This book! There is something about finding a story that is well crafted and detailed that is a breath of fresh air, no matter if it does end in a cliffhanger. I am a very fast reader, and many times I found myself slowing down or re-reading sections that were created so perfectly that I had to savor this authors creation. This did not dissapoint, and I am greatly looking forward to the next installment!
