I’m an outcast and a loner, named for death itself. Fate wasn’t supposed to have plans for me.But then she came back–the girl I once kissed in a thorn-covered chapel in the woods. She came back, and I could no more resist her than I could pry out my own heart. And by some trick of fate, she wants me as much as I want her. The only problem? She also wants the man who owns Thornchapel, Auden Guest. Auden Guest.
And so do I.
Eight years ago, I did something to Auden, something terrible. He hurt me back the only way he knew how, and so here we are: our hatred seasoned with pain and my loneliness seasoned with longing. The only thing we can agree on is Proserpina Markham, and she wants us to find a way to be together–all three of us.
If Auden wants to earn her as his submissive, then he has to earn me as well.
But with the discovery of bones behind the altar and the carnal revel of Beltane fast approaching, it’s becoming clear that Thornchapel’s secrets are much deeper and older than any of us could have ever guessed. And no matter how bright and merry a feast of sparks may be, it’s always followed by ashes.
And darkness.
Feast of Sparks is Book Two in the Thornchapel series.

Definitely for adults only! This book is a Gothic polyamorous gripping story. Having said that, there are more secrets to uncover at Thornchapel and our characters should heed the warning their parents have issued time and time again.
Our six friends are still searching for their place in life. They are now in that phase of their twenties where they must stand for what and who they are while searching for acceptance and love. The events they went through as children are still haunting them. As they search for the truth, their curiosity and sense of adventure seduces them to perform ancient pagan celebrations. These experiences are changing them and getting them closer to the truth behind the allure of Thornchapel.
This installment in our story focuses on the emotional triangle between St. Sebastian, Auden, and Proserpina. Past and present must be confronted as they embark in their unusual relationship. As I read their stories, I could not help but wonder if somehow mythical forces were driving them together to an untimely event. Remember, the Gothic influences in this story are the undercurrent to this steamy and creative tale.
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
This is such an incredible journey these six friends of Thornchapel are on. They are all learning what they want out of life and how to slowly achieve this. There are rituals that the six discovered that Thorncombe residents partook in for centuries or longer. The six friends decided that they would reenact these rituals. This book gives us the history between Auden and St. Sebastian. The chapters switch from present day to past. I was completely enthralled with this book and can’t wait to uncover more Thornchapel mysteries. And the ending was an enormous secret revealed.
Finally getting back to this series, I am once more floored at how magnificent a story this continues to be. Sierra Simone and her exquisite prose kept me riveted as we pick up exactly where we left off in book 1 and the mystery that is slowing unfolding wrt Poe’s mother gets more and more complicated. But what remains almost effortless is the strong ties this group of 6 has with one another and the deep devotion that only gets stronger by the day. Their discovery of the shared need some have for intense sexual experiences was presented beautifully. Even when the trysts could be considered rough, there is no mistake that it all comes from a place of true love and affection.
Simone seamlessly joins the search for answers as to the whys of the past at Thornchapel with the exploration that Auden, Poe, Saint, Becket, Delphine, and Rebecca engage in, in the most carnal of ways. They are all quite intelligent as they peruse material Poe as the dedicated librarian has discovered with the reasonings from Becket as the stalwart priest. They want answers to the mysteries of their altar and oft-times feel that is just out of their reach. But they cleverly use the ‘teachings’ so to speak to engage in rituals that happen 4 times a year, and to say things get decidedly lustful is both out of this world wonderful and a huge understatement.
However, at the heart of this installment is the past and present story of Auden and Saint. Their struggle to embrace their attraction as teens and the hurt felt when things went awry. With much to lose both individually and as a part of a tight-knit group, Auden and Saint thankfully find the necessary balance in order to move forward. With Poe by their side, this newly-formed threesome has the promise of extraordinary pleasure together with the heartfelt sense of truly belonging to someone.
Once again, a jaw-dropping last few pages will certainly set yet another course for this sextet in the next book and I’m just thankful I can dive right in without having to wait another minute.
Sierra Simone is a genius at combining the very best in erotic delights with an intricate mystery like that of Thornchapel. I love that she is giving each main character their time in the sun, with the hope that they survive the next bawdy ritual and the myriad of surprises along the way. I honestly cannot get enough and I happily give Feast of Sparks a huge 5+ stars!
I’ve become a fan of this author and I was really curious about this series for a long time so I thought it was time to finally read it.
I loved the characters; they are all so different but they all complete each other. This series keeps making my brain tangled with all the secrets, mystery and development.
Come ooooooonnnnnn. Why you gotta do me like that? Lol
Really, this series is everything. I was a little tiny bit lost in the middle with some of the mythology, but I wasn’t worried about it. I figured it would all come together (pun intended lol).
The last 15% of this book is a frickin, I don’t even know how to say it. The ritual, the king and may day and the ENDING!
This is again, another one of those times that I’m glad I waited until the series was done before I started it. This is a bigger cliffhanger than the last one!
Quotes:
She’s insatiable . . . and a voyeur . . . and an exhibitionist. A perfect little bride of thorns.
Wow. Holy Shit! OMG, Just when I thought things couldn’t get hotter in the Thornchapel series by Sierra Simone, she delivers Feast of Sparks and literally blows my mind!
Feast of Sparks follows six friends on a hedonistic journey of self-discovery and the complexities of falling in love. The Thornchapel series is magical and utterly unputdownable.
While A Lesson in Thorns set the stage for the an emotional, sexual, and mysterious journey between six friends,—Auden, Saint, Poe, Rebecca, Dephine, and Becket—Feast of Sparks dives deeper into the relationships that developed between this unlikely groups with their first meeting and their return to Thornchapel a decade later. Youthfulness has given way to adults who allow the mystery that is Thornchapel to lead them through a sexual awaking that sheds light into every facet of their lives, completely expectantly and unbeknownst to them. The blinders come off and the story that remains is epically sexy, unpredictable and without a doubt riddled with angst and heartbreak.
Sierra Simone is the master of sexy, and the Thornchapel books explore kink to it’s fullest. These books must be read in order:
A Lesson in Thorns
Feast of Sparks
Harvest of Sighs
Door of Bruises
And like I stated in my review for A Lesson in Thornes, this series is unlike anything I’ve ever read before. It’s not strictly contemporary romance as one would expect…It explores the history of Thornchapel’s myths and the otherworldly without becoming unreal. It’s full of vivid imagery with a storyline that’s both tantalizing and complex. While Poe was the primary storyteller in Lessons, readers now get a story largely conveyed by Saint with excerpts of the story dedicated to the other characters POV as well. Sierra Simone writes with a brilliance unlike any author I’ve read. The prose displayed is equally evocative, exquisite, and erotic. I found Feast of Sparks exquisite in every way: the character progression, the layered and unpredictability of the storyline, the uniqueness of the story… so much more! Only I’m deliberately relaying little content specifics in an attempt to keep the mystery of the story intact and to avoid spoilers.
The Thornchapel series so far is absolutely brilliant. And I HIGHLY recommend this series to readers—with a caveat. Not everyone is a fan of Simon’s storytelling. If you are a not a fan of BDSM, ménage, dark romance or pagan traditions; or if you’re someone who skims the sexy times in favor of a sweeter storyline, then steering clear of a Sierra Simone story is probably for the best. However, if you’re open to reading an author who pushes you out of your comfort zone and unreservedly pushes your moral boundaries, then look no farther. Feast of Sparks will set your kindles on fire. This book is epically sexy. But it’s also riddled with angst, heartbreak, and so much mystery that I’m addicted. The waiting between book releases has been agonizing and I’ve read the first three nearly back to back! FIVE PHENOMENAL STARS!!!
Quotes: (Please Note: In a bid to keep the mystery of the story alive, I’ve place the quotes I took out of the book below, however, they may contain spoilers…)
I love him as much as I love her— even if that love has been so thoroughly poisoned that even calling it love feels like a disservice to all the torment it’s endured— and I hate seeing him hurt.
He’d do anything for this little dreamer-priestess of ours, our bride of thorns. He’d do anything to make her happy.
Even crawl into bed with his worst enemy.
I should be crushed by these two men. Instead, I’m cradled.
Possession? Sounds delicious. Plaything? Sign me up.
Puppet without a choice? Not so much.
Auden is in agony that I want Saint; Saint is terrified I’ll choose Auden. And yet, when the three of us are together, all that agony and terror fuse into something holy and filthy and wonderful.
I want more than lasting. I want endless. I want forever.
And I’m going to earn it, no matter what you ask of me.
for the first time since I kissed you and Poe in the ruins, I felt like things made sense. Or like I made sense.
“I knew I loved you as an adult when I realized you make your love hurt as much for me as I make my love hurt for you.”
“The soul of you, Poe, is a soul made for living, and living hurts most of all.”
I didn’t want our first fuck to be the kind of tender, gentle sex that first times are supposed to be. I wanted Auden as his most tortured, his most arrogant, and after I saw him as the god, I wanted him as the wild god and Thorn King…I want filthy, I want invasive, I want the kind of breathless possession that ruins you for anything else.
This book features Poe, Auden and Sebastian with Sebastian’s back story being the focus. The story is hot, erotic, mysterious and awesome. Poe is in love with Auden but she wants Sebastian too. She wants Auden and Sebastian to find a way to put their turbulent past to rest and come together to be with each other and her. A creepy find leads the trio to the conclusion that Thornchapel has a dark past from ages ago. A stunning read and series that I will be looking forward to more from this author.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving a review.
After reading A Lesson In Thorns, I was craving so much more of this world. And Sierra brought a lot with this book. After book one I had an idea of what to expect with this series but she still completely surprised me with this one and left me wondering what in the world I had just read. I’m still kind of in this fog wondering and desperately needing to know what is going to happen next. These books drain me, but in the best way possible…if that even makes sense. Just as in book one, you are completely submerged into this world and you can’t help but be intrigued by this crazy unique story she’s so intricately weaved together. And if you’re anything like me she will frustrate you to no end with this one and leave you wanting to just throw the book across the room. I seriously almost did, but I reminded myself that it’s only book two and she’s promised us four so there has to be more to come, right? So I will just set it on my shelf and glare at it until book three comes out.
So with that being said, approach this one with caution and if you hate cliffhangers you might want to wait until book three comes out. Although I can’t promise that one won’t end in a cliffhanger also. And if you haven’t read book one, you should do so before reading this!
I’m a little confused, but I like it

What’s this book about? (I’m trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
St. Sebastian wants Poe, but Poe wants him and Auden to work their issues out first. Meanwhile, Auden is intend on making Poe his submissive, but St. Sebastian wants in as well. Auden has to earn both of them. While awaiting Beltane, it turns out that Thornchapel has more secrets to unveil and they will define the leads’ futures.
This is the second book in the Thornchapel series and you MUST read book one to understand what’s going on. The story is another dive into a thrilling mystery where you don’t exactly know what’s wrong or what’s right. What I love most about this series is the leading cast. Each character is exceptional and entertaining. Sometimes, I’m a little confused, but I think that this story intends to confuse its readers LOL. I appreciate that you aren’t told too much; it makes you anticipate the next read even more. There’s lots of steamy scenes with various players and toys, so beware that this is a pretty fluid book in that aspect. SO. THIS BOOK ENDS WITH AN EXPLOSIVE CLIFFHANGER. Be ready. This makes things very interesting *cough* *cough*
I recommend this read who love open love in their books LOL, fairy tales and mythology, mysteries and a tortured leading cast that’s working through their past one mystery after another.
There are books that are almost impossible to leave a review for, and for me, this is one of them. It picks up where A Lesson In Thornes leaves off. And if you didn’t already know, that one MUST be read before this book. This one told us a bit more of the back story between St Sebastian and Auden, and it made me love St Sebastian even more. I was intrigued by him in the first book, but he’s quickly becoming one of my favorite characters out of this group. There is so much more angst and this one is way sexier than the first book. The deeper we dive in to the mystery that is Thornchapel, the more twists and turns there appear to be. This story is deliciously dark and erotic and pulls you in from the first page. Each character reveals a bit more about themselves with each book and ones that I really wasn’t connected with (Beckett), by the end of this story, I was drawn to even more. I want to know all the answers to their secrets now, but at the same time, I take my time reading this story because I don’t want it to end.
This series is one of my favorites by this author, and I cannot wait to see how much more the mystery unravels in Harvest of Sighs
This book picks up A Lesson In Thorns ended and boy did it pick up!! There was some some questions answered only to have me have a ton more questions. This is so epic that I’m totally shook and can’t wait for the next one. The way this story is weaved is done in a way you won’t soon forget
Whoa. I don’t even know how to describe what this series is turning into. So dark and mysterious. Beautiful at the same time. Kindle throwing kind of book for sure!! Can’t wait for book 3!!
This book continued from A Lesson in Thorns the first book in this series.
Twelve years have past and Audin, Poe , Beckett, Rebecca , Delphine , and last but not least is St.Sebastian .
Such an interesting story full of mystery , love and so much more , this is a typical Sierra Simone book that I adore to read..
Erotic, sensual , very kinky and rather delicious .
When Poe , Audin and Saint are together you see that they are meant to be .
A wonderful read…as captivating as A Lesson in Thorns .
As the characters have grown immensely they are beginning to see who they are , everything is now taking place.
I am addicted to the Thornchapel books. Wow! Sierra Simone sure knows how to tell a story and suck you in from page one. This book kept up long into the early hours of the morning. Feast of Sparks picks up right where A Lesson in Thorns left off.
I love a good complicated love story and this is exactly that. We have three characters that can’t live without each other. No matter how much they have been hurt in the past they always seem to find their way back to each other. So many things happen in this book and I don’t want to give them away. I will say you need to read A Lesson in Thorns before you read this book. I can’t wait to see what happens next. This is a must read series!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This is the second book in the Thornchapel Series. You have to read A Lesson In Thornes. We were left with a huge cliffhanger and her is book two that is even dirtier than the first one. This one has a twist in it that I did not see coming and I don’t think anyone else ever will either. This book focuses mainly on St. Sebastian Auden and Poe. We get to find out what Auden and St. Sebastian hate each other so much. These two are about to have a war between them and this book has a lot of angst in them. This is not your usual story and you will either like it or you won’t I don’t think there is any in between.
Feast of Sparks somehow managed to up the ante from Lessons in Thorns. There’s more sex, more angst, more mystery, just so much more. One thing I love about Ms. Simone’s books is that she pushes me to expand my view of the world. I’m also a huge vocab need and I’m constantly learning new words which is so exciting. I’m always just tottering on the edge of taking too much in without going over. That being said there are tons of sex scenes with pretty much every combination imaginable so don’t read if that’s not your thing. I can’t wait for the last book!
Feast of Sparks is the second book of Thornchapel series. It can’t be read as a standalone. The first book in the series is A Lesson in Thorns. The story resumes from where the first ended.
This series is absolute perfection! This story pushes all the boundaries. I love the characters, the plot. I love every single minute. I’m very excited to read Auden and St. Sebastians past. I love them, their relationship and so overall, both characters.
The spark is back and with it comes more mystery and suspense. What I am liking about this series and this book in particular, is that the story is about trio, but it’s also about the chapel and the secrets surrounding it. It’s a story within a story and I have a hard time putting it down. I would re-read this. It’s hot, heavy, suspenseful, intriguing, and filled with so much mystery it’s like watching a movie in my head.
