Personal vendettas, hidden treasure, and a monkey named Carl will send bounty hunter Stephanie Plum on her most explosive adventure yet. The Crime: Armed robbery to the tune of nine million dollars Dom Rizzi robbed a bank, stashed the money, and did the time. His family couldn’t be more proud. He always was the smart one. The Cousin: Joe Morelli Joe Morelli, Dom Rizzi, and Dom’s sister, Loretta, …
Joe Morelli, Dom Rizzi, and Dom’s sister, Loretta, are cousins. Morelli is a cop, Rizzi robs banks, and Loretta is a single mother waiting tables at the firehouse. The all-American family.
The Complications: Murder, kidnapping, destruction of personal property, and acid reflux
Less than a week after Dom’s release from prison, Joe Morelli has shadowy figures breaking into his house and dying in his basement. He’s getting threatening messages, Loretta is kidnapped, and Dom is missing.
The Catastrophe: Moonman
Morelli hires Walter “Mooner” Dunphy, stoner and “inventor” turned crime fighter, to protect his house. Morelli can’t afford a lot on a cop’s salary, and Mooner will work for potatoes.
The Cupcake: Stephanie Plum
Stephanie and Morelli have a long-standing relationship that involves sex, affection, and driving each other nuts. She’s a bond enforcement agent with more luck than talent, and she’s involved in this bank-robbery-gone-bad disaster from day one.
The Crisis: A favor for Ranger
Security expert Carlos Manoso, street name Ranger, has a job for Stephanie that will involve night work. Morelli has his own ideas regarding Stephanie’s evening activities.
The Conclusion: Only the fearless should listen to Fearless Fourteen by Janet Evanovich.
Thrills, chills, and incontinence may result.
more
Janet Evanovich has created a book that would make an entertaining movie with Stephanie Plum the clueless heroine. I love any movie that I leave happy and even laughing which is what Fearless Fourteen would do.
I needed a laugh and Janet Evanovich with Fearless Fourteen delivered! Another hilarious Stephanie Plum read. Joe Morelli’s cousin, Dom Rizzi, pulled off a nine million dollar bank heist. In the process, he got caught and served nine years in prison. The money was never recovered. Within a week of Dom’s release from prison he disappears, his sister is kidnapped for a nine million dollar ransom and Dom’s accomplices in the bank robbery begin to show up dead. Once again, Stephanie, Morelli, and Ranger join forces to provide a wonderfully entertaining read.
Best series ever
I’ve loved the series! I’ve read 24+ books in the series.
I love the entire Stephanie Plum Series. It’s a great easy read!
Her books always lift my spirits.
Great read
Love this series
Love this book and the author!
Always fun reads, light mystery, romance and humor.
I love all the Stephanie plum series
Have yet to read a bad one of her numbered books
Janet Evanovich creates the most entertaining characters. The narrator, Lorelei King, is fabulous! She is the absolute best at creating entertaining voices. You have no trouble differentiating between characters. This book is action-packed and entertaining. Oh the trouble Stephanie Plum, a bounty hunter, and Lula manage to get themselves into.
One of my favorite series…. laugh out loud humor. Stephanie Plum is a hilarious character!!!!
I love Stephanie Plumbut she needs to get married
$9m is missing from a bank robbery and Morelli’s cousin supposedly knows where it is. Morelli’s cousin Loretta is abducted and Steph and Morelli have to take in her teenage son, who plays video games with Moon Man. The Mooner guards MOrelli’s house with a potato gun. Lula tricks Tank into thinking he proposed to her and plans her wedding.
This series is getting a bit stale. There isn’t anything new or exciting or unexpected in her work.
Funny
Just when I had another reason to NOT like Joe I find out it’s just a misunderstanding I really thought the books couldn’t top each other in action and jaw dropping moments but then I read this one. Not sure HOW the rest of the books will measure up but I’m going to find out.
4 of 5 stars to Fearless Fourteen, the 14th book in the “Stephanie Plum” mystery series, written in 2008 by Janet Evanovich. Another fine adventure in the life of a normal, every-day gal who just happens to be a bounty hunter. Everything you’d expect shows up in this one… Ranger’s after Stephanie in his normal sly approach. She takes on a job working for him and finds herself lusting even more than usual. But she still sorta loves Joe. Except he’s got his hands full with someone trying to kill him. When he hires a loon to protect the house while he’s at work, the pot smoking but reformed kook can’t keep up. And let’s not forget about the monkey who has a thing for one or two of our favorite characters. Call it 1/3 romance, 1/3 humor and 1/3 mystery. Not really exceptionally strong in any one particular area, but when you combine it all together, you have a 4 or 5 hour ride you’ll enjoy. But with 26 books in the series… there’s got to be something different each time. Sometimes Evanovich succeeds. Sometimes she doesn’t. This is a good one.
