Fear The Storm is a fantastic second chance romance with a twist of suspense by Geri Foster. Ms. Foster has delivered a well-written book and furnished it with a stellar cast of characters. Rachel is returning to Rainwater after being away for eight years. Lucas turned his back on Rachel when it mattered most and now that she’s back he wants her to stay. Lucas and Rachel’s story is loaded with drama, humor, action, suspense and spice. I enjoyed reading Fear The Storm and look forward to reading more from Geri Foster in the future. Fear The Storm is book 1 of the Storm Warning Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read a complimentary copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A great read that covered the feels with drama, intrigue & suspense. Things had been too neatly compiled just waiting to be unraveled. And unravel they did!!
Rachel, grudgingly coming back to Rainwater years later, along with Lucas resident Sheriff & former boyfriend and her BFF, Kendall, made for a motley crew of sleuths.
I enjoyed the intricacy of the story, laced with comedic relief & the 2nd chance romance (that almost wasn’t).
This is the 1st of a new series, a stand alone with an HEA. I AM intrigued and would love to read the rest coming up in this new series.
A simply wonderful story .

Returning home and finding the truth is never easy or simple…
You’ll be drawn into the lives of the small ranching community of Rainwater, Texas. The very heart of Geri Foster’s brand new series – STORM WARNING. First up, Rachel and Lucas’ story in FEAR THE STORM. Right from the start you know this couple have loved and still love each other, despite a lengthy separation that ended in anger and grief, so you know Rachel is far from happy seeing Lucas when she returns home. She doesn’t want to let go of past hurts because of her Dad’s imprisonment. Their story, their journey isn’t going to start out at all cosy… It’s going to take a lot to get past Rachel’s anger, to have her trust earned back… and oh yes help her prove her Dad’s innocence will go a long way too. A challenge Lucas is all to willing to accept, despite his misgivings that the outcomes may not eventuate to what they want.
It’s learning to trust not only love but solving a crime, a past injustice with not much to work on, with little to no evidence or resources. Life and love sometimes gives us second chances and anything becomes possible.
Some minor errors, but really this is a beautiful, sweet story. Both characters are strong willed and determined to set the past right… well Rachel takes her sweet time but Lucas despite momentary doubts has confidence he can win his girl back. good friends and family will help move things along in their own hilarious ways. Now solving a crime and proving innocence is another story altogether but he wants to do what’s right not only for Rachel while also looking after his town and it’s citizens… even those rascally, sisters (grandmother and sisters) related to Rachel… Now those elderly ladies know how to spice up a story with their antics… do not ever cross those ladies… then fear for your life!
I really loved reading Lucas and Rachel’s story, especially it’s wonderful, quirky characters and it’s small town atmosphere… I’m looking forward to what’s up next. If you love solving and proving innocence, side by side with a romance that deserves a second chance, then start reading FEAR THE STORM (Storm Warning – Bk 1) now.
A second chance romance and a long ago injustice to put right. What’s not to love about this book?
My first read of this author but it won’t be my last!
A bit of mystery is fun to add enjoyment to an entertaining romance.
I already bought the book. How can I access it???
“Fear the Storm” (Storm Warning Series, Book 1) by Geri Foster is a great read. I enjoyed Lucas and Rachel’s story. This is a wonderful start to this series, packed with romance, humor, second chances, action, suspense, small-town life, twists and turns, entertaining characters, lawmen, and more. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, second chances, suspense, and series.
Candi is just trying to make a happy home for her son. Her ex is trying to make her life miserable because he’s miserable. What will happen when Austin, someone who’s had a crush on Candi since high school, returns to Rainwater? Also, will one of the Grandmas reveal one of the town’s many secrets?
Great book. Second chances are the best romances. The love is there you just have to get over the hurts and back to where it belongs. This book keeps you reading to find out what’s going to happen next.
Fear the Storm is a fun, engaging, interesting story full of heart, crazy antics, friendship, drama and suspense with a touch of mystery and a heartwarming second chance romance. Join Rachel and Lucas along with her crazy family and their friend Kendall as they try to right the wrongs of the past and Rachel and Lucas’s journey to forgiveness and rekindling a love worth fighting for. *I received an advanced reader’s copy of this book by the author and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. The thoughts and opinions expressed are completely my own.
I had read book 3 in the series and really enjoyed it. So I decided to give this one a try. Though book 3 is still my favorite , this story was very good.
The series centers around a group of friends in Rainwater, TX. This one belongs to Rachel Snyder and Lucas Quinn. They had been sweethearts eight years ago. It all changed when Rachel’s father was sent to prison for embezzlement and Lucas, then a young deputy , not only did not tell her of the investigation, but he was the one that escorted her father to prison. Rachel and her Mom left town and now 8 years later are back to celebrate Grandma Mercy’s 80th birthday. The attraction is still there, but Rachel feels betrayed and doesn’t trust Quinn.
But now that both are older , and wiser, they see discrepancies in the verdict and Rachel convinces Lucas to help her prove her father’s innocence.
Aside from the main plot, it’s a story about trust, hope , forgiveness and second chances. Will they be able to overcome the mistakes of the past, and find a future?
The plot was engaging, and entertaining . More stories are yet to come, as the friends find love where they least expect it.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
This story will grab your emotions and keep you reading until the very end. It is a interesting and unusual plot. A story of second chance romance with heartbreak, pain, friendship and support. It also has love, passion, and emotional drama. The characters are well developed and you can’t help but love and feel close to them. I look forward to reading more in this new series. I enjoyed reading this book.
