The Edge series follows a different hero/heroine with each book and they get better with each book. They are all connected, usually we encounter at least one of the main characters in the previous books, but I feel like you could probably dip in and out of these books in any order without being too confused.
I’d recommend these for anyone who likes a lot of romance with their magic, action and wit.
Audiobook review: A mystery, adventure, danger, egos, romance equals great story! Excellent storyline and characters! Love this edition to the series! The narrator did a fantastic job with providing unique voices for each character and appropriate tone inflections for each scene!
The third book in the Edge series brings us a heroine who wants to leave her Edge heritage behind. Audrey Callahan is eager to use the skills she learned from her life in a family of thieves to build a new life as a private investigator in the Broken. When her family manages to suck her in to help with their “one last score,” she ends up in something way over her head, coming to the attention of agents from several opposing Weird countries, including Kaldar Mar, an agent for the Mirror. Kaldar is a lawyer and an accomplished thief, as well as a spy, and he convinces Audrey that the only way out of the fix she’s in is to work with him to recover the stolen items. Kaldar is a man of many resources and he’ll use whatever is at hand, including the two youths George and Jack, who stowed away on his wyvern when he stopped to see his cousin Cerise before leaving on his mission. It was fun to see Jack the changling and George the necromancer, Rose’s brothers from the first book in the series, as well as Gaston, Cerise’s cousin from the Mire, who appeared in the second book. They add some comic relief to an action packed story filled with flying dragons, more of the Hand’s altered agents, and intriguing magical abilities, as well as two engaging main characters, Audrey and Kaldar. I love how the author intertwines characters from the previous books in the series into the current one, it makes it all the more interesting to revisit those wonderful characters once again and see how they’ve progressed in the meantime. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Steel’s Edge, which features Kaldar’s brother Richard.
So enjoyable, you’ll have to read the whole series
