“I want a divorce.”No woman wants to say those words. No woman who is still in love with her husband anyway. Our marriage has been tested, repeatedly. It’s been dragged through tabloids and rumors and fans that just won’t let us be.Through it all, we’ve remained unbreakable. We didn’t have the perfect marriage because perfection doesn’t exist. But we had love. We had trust. We had chemistry that to … had trust. We had chemistry that to this day sets everything inside me on fire.
Then one life-threatening statement creates a chain of lies that leaves me no choice but to say those horrible words.
I never thought I’d say them.
I never thought my husband would ignore me when I did.
I never thought the man I love would sever the vows we took.
I never thought I’d pack my bags and move from our home in L.A. to our getaway cottage in Hermosa Beach.
Then again, I never thought he’d choose the fate of his life over his fate with me.

FATEFUL FIGHTER
As I was reading Fateful Fighter, something felt different. It occurred to me about a quarter of the way through that 95% of the books I read are about two people getting to the altar…Mason and Eden were already married….I think we sometimes think that marriage equals not hot…Kathy Coopmans has blown that theory right out of the water….Mason and Eden have enough chemistry to blow up a building…
When the book begins with a couple divorcing, you don’t know if they divorce and/or reconcile until the end of the book…And that’s all I need to say about that…except it’s a good book..
Of all the stories I have read in the Cocky Hero Club, this is probably the most intense one so far. If I’m being honest, the cover of the book steered me to think there would be some heaviness to the story-line. I don’t know why, but the pose and the punch pose just screams intense to me and I am super glad the story delivered on that standpoint because I’m the worst cover snobs of all cover snobs LOL so this is a huge plus for me!! 🙂
This is a unique story because this couple has already done the romance journey, now they’re in a battle for their HEA. The story is very real and incredibly relatable. It is raw and passionate and does not hold back nor does it pull any punches. I wouldn’t say the story is heavy but it is intense. The passion that poured off the pages had me hooked from the very beginning. I honestly had no idea how this entire story would turn out until it did. Amazing story that has put this author on my radar!
Our marriage has been tested, repeatedly. It’s been dragged through tabloids and rumors and fans that just won’t let us be. Through it all, we’ve remained unbreakable. There were things I liked about this book and a couple of things that I didn’t. The story line was intense, dramatic and engrossing, the chemistry between the characters was hot and emotional, I just didn’t understand how you could have so much love for your husband and not be willing to work things out but instead drive him to the brink of destruction, the other thing that was annoying was the over use of the word denial. All over though once you get past those two things this was a good read.
I love Kathy Coopmans’ dark romances. They grab you by your lady balls and leave you with a book hangover. Fateful Fighter is on the lighter side of her dark romances. It is filled with such heart felt, raw emotions I had to put it down several times to take a break. Even with taking those breaks the story stayed with me.

ALL the characters are well written. I loved Eden & Mason, Chance & Aubrey, and I loved hating Nicole. Oh boy, did I love to hate her. I wanted to reach in and throat punch her.
Eden and Mason fight like a real married couple going through a stressful, very rough time. Add in broken promises, secrets and lies and you have yourself an explosive situation.
Many tears were shed while reading Fateful Fighter. I recommend having a few tissues handy. I hope Kathy writes another book within the Cocky Hero Club.
First time reading a book by Kathy Coopmans and I completely enjoyed it. Mason and Eden’s love story began when they were children. They understand each other and have an incredible bond. They have created their life together from humble beginnings. The book highlights their life together and their friendship with Chase and Aubrey from Cocky Bastard. You are taken on their journey of love, broken promises, heartbreak, and redemption. HEA with lots of Alpha heat.
Eden:
Many years ago, I met this boy who took my hand and made a promise he would always protect me from the eye of storms. I promised things to him too. I vowed to be there for him when he needed me, no matter what. I made a promise to support his goals and ambitions, to stick by him through hardship, and to celebrate his triumphs and defeats. I vowed to stay by his side when times were tough. We both promised one another that any challenges we might face, we will conquer them together, because we are a team, always and forever.
This was one of the more emotional books from the CHC I’ve read and I loved it. I could feel the emotions bleeding off the pages, like a breathing, tangible existence. This book was a great look into the side of a relationship that’s not the HEA we all wish for when we reach the end of a story; it’s gritty and raw, and I loved that Eden had no qualms letting Mason know how she felt about his actions. They go through it in this book, and I honestly couldn’t wait to see if they were able to grow stronger or if it was going to be the end for them.
You tell me a book has a fighter in it and I’m all on that. I love a good fighter book. And Kathy didn’t disappoint. She held my heart in her hand through out this whole book. It was so heartbreaking at times I just wanted to jump in and help them. She has a way of pulling you into the story and never wanting to leave that world. You do get your heart put back together, so grab your tissues and settle into a read that will break you, leave you wanting more, and picks you back up.
Emotional and heartbreaking this is the story of a broken marriage and how they come back together. I will admit it not my favorite read, I was bothered by the lies and the way the H treats his wife. I was glad they over came it in the ed but I found it hard to like the H in the story.
I am a huge Kathy Coopmans fan and Fateful Fighter is a great addition to the Cocky Hero Club series. Make sure you grab your tissues for this one because OMG the tears were flowing and my emotions were going crazy crazy. Mason and Eden’s story is real and raw. Kathy created characters that could be your neighbors, strangers walking down the street or even you. I’m not sure what I expected but it wasn’t what I got and I LOVE it!
“No secrets. No lies.”
This is my second book that I’ve read in the Cocky Hero Club series, and it seriously did not disappoint! This is definitely very Kathy style…I love how her books always have a head strong nearly arrogant alpha male starring in her books.
Mason and Eden have a long road ahead of the after all of Mason’s lies that he’s been telling Eden for the last two years. Eden has always been Mason’s biggest fan and most important support person in his Boxing career that is until his last fight nearly two years ago threatened to put his life out cold. She knows his life and their life together is more important than his gloves. The problem is, Mason thinks he can fight again and is very unsettled about it. Instead of discussing his inner demons with Eden he turns to someone else. When Eden finds out, through the media she’s devastated. How can she trust her husband again? Where do they go from here?
This is one of my favorites from Kathy, and it was nice to be able to catch up with Aubrey and Chase…Plus we met Gabe in this book. Can’t wait to read more from this series. Loved it!
Heartbreakingly beautiful! This is a poignant roller coaster ride to go on. Relationships are built on trust, and when that trust is broken can the relationship survive? We always get to an end of a story believing in a happily ever after. This was not a fairytale, it’s more realistic and relatable, about a couple fighting to either repair their marriage or let go. This story was enlightening. I absolutely loved everything about this book.
Wow what an addition to this series of books. This was I have to say is the most intense. I have read almost all of the cocky hero books and this one blew me away. Kathy is a go to writer for me. This storyline and these two characters show you exactly why. I was crying, laughing, wanting to throw my kindle while reading this one. It pulls at emotions and has you holding on to see what is going to happen between these two. Are they going to get their HEA?
Eden and Mason are the perfect couple. They have everything going for them. But then something happens to destroy that. Will these two make it through what has happened?
Mason does something that Eden cannot forgive him for. But he doesn’t see it as being that bad. But in the end it does end up destroying them both. But how bad will it affect them?
I loved Mason and Eden. Reading this I could literally feel each and every emotion that they are. But then again that is how Kathy writes a book and keeps you turning the page. She draws you in to each character and has you wanting to know what is going to happen to them. I highly recommend reading this one. It is a great book that will have you forgetting about what is going on around you because you will be thrown into Mason and Eden’s life full blast.
Fateful Fighter is intense and emotional. I had so many mixed feelings reading their story. It was hard seeing the pain and suffering from them both knowing how much they love each other. Eden and Mason’s love story is deep and they are truly meant to be together. This book is a fight for not only love, but life.
It’s part of the Cocky Hero Club which is inspired by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward’s Cocky Bastard series. You don’t have to have the Cocky Bastard series to enjoy this one.
This one is an emotional roller coaster of a read. Eden’s and Mason’s marriage is falling apart but there still is a lot of love there. hey have a heart string pulling story. Both Eden and Mason’s struggle seems real. The story is nicely written and the characters struggles, strengths and weakness just pour perfectly of the pages.
Well, this book is mind-blowing, never expected any of it but it was fantastic. Mason and Eden’s story is a dark romance, they have been married for 15 years but secrets and lies take a toll on their relationship. This is not the usual romance read so be aware of it all, but be certain it will hook you from the start and you will be reading non-stop until the very end.
Its been a while since I read Kathy Coopmans and after reading this one I am really not sure why its been so long. A fact I will be remedying soon.
Kathy brought a brilliantly emotional, raw, passionate read. Once I started I was hooked and completely involved until the last word. Kathy really brought the emotions out with this one. Honestly I felt every word she wrote, the pain that Mason and Eden went through was heart breaking and so well written.
I absolutely loved this one, it was a great addition to this Cocky Hero club. I couldn’t get enough. Well done Kathy
Fateful Fighter, A Cocky Hero World Novel by Kathy Coopmans.
Once again Ms. Coopmans has done it again!!! Loved this book and the characters. Mason and Eden are great characters and I truly loved and enjoyed reading their story!!
Only this book could have brightened my day…
The sky was so grey outside and I was feeling a bit depressed but in a flash of had a smile on my face.
Kathy Coopmans has this effect on me. Her books are to die for and the more I read, the more I want. I can’t have enough.
Her writing can be sweet and beautiful and in a sec it can change to dark and raw.
Just get ready.
Fateful Fighter is her latest release and explores the lives of Eden and Mason.
This book belongs to A Cocky Hero World novel and you need to get ready.
These two had it, a perfect marriage, perfect family until one secret…
This book just stole my heart as well as my soul.
It was so intense that I found it hard to breathe sometimes.
Superb plot, very well written, super engaging, and intense.
It was impossible to put this book down. That’s why at 2 am I’m doing my review. I just finished this
Each chapter was even more perfect than the latest and I have no words.
Betrayal, lies, deceive, broken promises are very present in this book as well as love, loyalty, desire, and hope.
There were parts of the book that I wanted to slap someone so freaking hard. Jeez. Stubborn much?
But then, there were others that I wished I could get inside the book and hold them. Hold them to promise better days.
An amazing book that no-one should miss.
Kathy… Oh, Kathy… What are you doing to me?
You have given me two books, so perfect in a short period of time. I couldn’t be even happier. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I must say, Eden and Mason thoroughly gutted me. I was pretty much a blubbering, sobbing mess throughout their story. But, it was so dang good! The depth of emotions that this Author had me feeling just overwhelms me. Very well done!
I won’t lie. I kind of struggled with this one because it was slow to get into. However, once the ball rolls and things explode essentially for Eden and Mason, you get wrapped up in the feels and the raw pain that these two are both feeling. I wanted to yell at both of them for being so stubborn. But how they fight for their love was beautiful. You could really feel the depth of emotion that Coopmans weaved through the words of these two. The way they grow apart then together again. This one will hit you hard because of how much it feels real as well!
