Welcome to the Chaos Realm … abyss.
The light …
She resided there. Her voice saved him. Her soul had claimed his before he realized it. Asherah of the Mound, the Fae princess who had disappeared long ago, should have been dead.
And so should he.
It seemed they both had defied the Fates …
The Fates wanted him to fail and disappear into nothingness. Hearts can’t be contained, though, and he’d be damned if they took another thing from him. Ever. Heath would blow the Chaos Realm sky high if that’s what it took because Asherah was worth it.
And she was starting to make him believe he was too.

“Sometimes, one must know darkness to know light.”
—Asherah, Fated to the Traitor
Like it’s predecessors, this picks up right where the previous book in the series left off and with a bang. I read the first chapter and then put the book down to do some things around the house … I quickly realized I missed it already. And I missed it hard.
When I got back to it, I read it all in one sitting. There are some really fun scenes and we learn a lot more about Heath and his past and incidentally, gain more insight into Silva’s as well. Things continue to come together in what continues to be an increasingly advanced plot and we are given more fun characters as the world sort of expands (from the readers’ point of view anyway). It’s all brilliantly woven.
Most of the book is an adventure, laced with fun action scenes, but we do get glimpses into Zoey & Dominic’s pup and life for and with her so those wanting more of this world will love this installment.
It also manages to be hilarious at times.
Character development and world-building are advanced. Other reviews indicate some people have trouble keeping up; read when you’re ready to pay attention for maximum enjoyment. 😉

Heath and Ash
The next story in the Portal City Protectors series is hereHeath disappears at the end of the third book only to find himself in the “in between” where he stumbles upon his Fate. Ash has been kept against her will for over a century and now that her fated fae Heath has arrived, perhaps she has a chance at a life outside of captivity?
A good story which gives us some insight into the in between but also a few glimpses of what’s happening with the Dominic’s Pack in Encantado and gives us a few hints as to what’s coming next
I received an advanced copy via Booksprout and I voluntarily leave my honest review
Pushed to 3 stars but not sure it deserves it.
I first went back to read the end of book 3 about Heath/Kieran and what happened as I could not remember any facts. It has been a few months since that book came out and I have read a lot of books since then.
I am sorry to say this fourth book was just too busy and confusing to push through.
The start with Rosemary’s baby was freaky and I didn’t like it.
As much as I wanted to read about Heath and Ashura, I didn’t like the interfering gods part.
I ended this feeling there was little romance and just felt totally confused as to what I was supposed to be thinking and feeling.
Not one I will ever pick up again which is a pity as the first three books were very entertaining.
This is my honest review of this book.
Ok were do I begin. This story was ummm a lot. I mean there was plenty of laugh out loud moment but at time I found myself getting bored and distracted. I also had to go back and reread the previous book to refresh my memory, since it has been a while trust me it’s a must and that help me out a lot. It help me stay focused on what was going on and I’m glad that I didn’t give up. It did end up being a intrigue read with lots of twist and turn add in secrets, action, suspense, and you have a helluva read. Overall its a enjoyable and entertaining read and I’m looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series.
Wow, what a ride! Okay so I would not list this as a standalone, books one thru three need to be read first (though that is no a hardship).
This story was… complicated and very full, LOL. There was a lot to kerp track of and at times it got daunting but sticking with it was worth it. I loved reading more about this world, the relationships, the rules even the changes in the characters.
What really stood out to me within this story was the way the authors have really throughout and created such interesting and diverse characters. It’s one thing to write about commonly known beings (i.e. Fae, Gods, shifters…) but its sonething more when the authors can take those beings and create new and interesting roles for them. It makes the story fresh and fun.
Get ready to strap in, this story will take awhile to get though, but what a fun ride that is. I received an ARC and I am leaving an honest review. 3.5 stars.
Thrilling Read!
This is another very intense and thrilling story from beginning to end. There is pulse racing action, suspense, intrigue and lots of steam that will keep you captivated and highly entertained. Fantastic new and old characters with one intense plot.
I can’t wait to read the next book.
When dark and light meet
This book is so much more intense than the previous ones in the series. There are two storylines running side by side until they intersect at the end. Each one is fraught with its own dangers and characters that we have met and fell in love with before. Then there are the new characters that we slowly learn are more deeply involved in the shaping of the story to date then we thought. I love that the two leads in this book are able to transcend time and space to make the connection that was always meant to be. The authors did such a fantastic job of helping ease old hurts and make new fresh connections. This book is not fast paced, so be prepared to hunker down because you are in for the ride of a lifetime. I can’t wait to read the next two books and I can only hope that there will be more in the future.
This fourth book in this series was not for me. I found it too busy, and I could not follow along. I had to keep going back to reread the page before.
I loved the first 3 books so much and was excited to read this one. It’s been 5 months since I read Mated to the Prince, book 3, and I think I have read a couple of hundred books from then until today, so maybe because the first 3 books were not fresh in mind?
I still am unsure what to write about this book, it just seemed like there were too many different characters in their own story going on at the same time.
