Just when Kara resolves herself to an eternity of her nightmare, she discovers a glimmer of hope…a way to glimpse her beloved. Could her visions of Maximus unite them once more, or are they just another twisted punishment for her in a kingdom designed for agony?

Fate of Storms (Review) Angel Payne and Meredith Wild
I have had so much happen in the last few months that I fell behind on reviews because well as I said…life. So let’s start with the book I had been impatiently waiting on the conclusion to and the ability to read it. Trust me, Angel and Meredith did not disappoint.
Again, I have to remind you that paranormal is not my forte, but Angel and Meredith changed that. What they gave in books one and two, Blood of Zeus and Heart of Fire opened my mind and gave me a new perspective.
But even I wasn’t ready for the explosive, edge of your seat conclusion to this series. Once again, the voices in Angel and Meredith’s head were not of this world.
And neither was the journey Maximus was on. He has one job, and that is to save Kara and the burning path he takes is nothing short of miraculous. The twist and turns this story entails will astound you and just when you think you know, you don’t. Falling into the bowels of hell brings an entire different plan to the game. But the thing about games is just because you think you’ve won…someone always has that surprise play at the end.
And let me tell you about hell on earth! Nope, actually I won’t tell you. You just have to read the book to discover what happens when you mix a devil, a God, a grandfather, a hero, a heroine and one HELL (no pun intended) of a woman!
Angel and Meredith flow so easy in their writing, their storytelling. You literally cannot decipher amongst the two. Whether on earth or in hell these two women are FIRE!!!! And I cannot wait for more from them individually and collectively!
As always…all the stars that can be mustered between earth and hell belong to Angel.
FATE OF STORMS picks up right where HEART OF FIRE left off, Kara has been abducted by Hades and brought back to his circle of…well you know, and Maximus will do whatever it takes to rescue her.
This was a fast paced, edge of your seat, cant turn the page fast enough read. I didn’t want to put it down. There was so much going on I would advise readers to clear out an afternoon so they can just sit and devour this read without interruption.
Maximus and Kara have a pull towards one another that is so rare, who cares that their relationship is frowned up not only by the University where he teaches and she’s a student but also by her family. They surly don’t and neither do I, they are HOT together!
After everything that happened with Maximus and Kara in this book I cannot begin to figure out what is going to happen next, but I cannot wait to find out!
I would recommend this book to those that enjoy Paranormal Romance, Retelling’s of Greek Mythology, or Steamy Romances. I would also like to stress that these books should be read in the order they have been released.
Happy Reading!!!
***** AUDIOBOOK REVIEW *****
Fate of Storms brings us right back to Heart of Fire… Kara was abducted by Hades and brought to Hell. As you can imagine, Maximus is an upheaval and there are storms of the century happening all around him. I definitely recommend you read these books in order. Do not start in the middle, you will be lost and confused… plus, you’d have missed the start on an amazing love story meets Greek mythology. I’m not going too much into this storyline as it’d be easy to ruin it. I can tell you that this was the most fast-paced book in the series thus far. How far will Max go to save Kara? Is he willing to walk into the pit of Hell for her?
I have enjoyed this series immensely and thought it was going to end after this book. However, the ending leads me to believe the story is just beginning. I’m looking forward to more from Kara and Max. Jennifer Mack and Jacob Morgan are a dream package! They have been easily bringing these books to very vivid life right before my eyes. I’m relieved they’ve kept the same narrators for these three book. I just can’t envision another narrator bring Kara or Max to life. They have really added a pulse to the story. I’m sure these are just amazing stories to read, really that is how good that are. But the audiobooks leave nothing out. They add a personality and an intensity that feels compulsive. Fabulous, fabulous audiobook!
Thank you Brilliance Publishing for the complimentary copy of this audiobook with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.

They are faring the Storm of Fate
I have honestly been trying to savour this book, so I took my time finishing it, but it appears as though there might be more and I’m definitely going to be up for that
Maximus and Kara have been through many ordeals and to Hell and back quite literally but they’ve won my heart as characters and I really want MORE I’m not ready to leave this world just yet
That was definitely a satisfactory conclusion
to this series. It was a wild and emotional ride.
The love between Maximus and Cara is out of this
world. The depths that Maximus went through
to get Cara back made me almost ugly-cry.
He literally went to hell and back. Cara held strong
and believed, never lost hope even when she was
Hades’ captive. This was definitely one of my favorite
star-crossed/mythology book.
Maximus is on a quest to save Kara from Hell. Literally. And he’ll stop at nothing to do it. While Kara is caught up in Hades’ interest, she’s spared from the final torment as he tries to understand her emotions and heart better – it fascinates him, and he’s bored waiting for Persephone to return. But his invasions into her mind are brutal and unwanted, and she fights them as much as she can. But in her quiet moments, she dreams of Maximus, and their bond literally sparks to life. So deep and strong, they are able to communicate through their dreams, to be together even if for brief periods, and it spurs them on to continue to fight and hope.
We get to see more of Kara’s grandfather, which is definitely a treat, and we get much more of the story of what happened to him and his subsequent punishment from Hades that is now meted out on all his future generations. As the games of the Gods play out, however, a new, unexpected player enters the ring, and lets just say she’s not on the side of Hell. It’s an interesting twist, to be sure. And since it looks like there may be another book, which I am very excited about, it will be very interesting to watch the rest of this story unfold with this new element added.
Spectacular!
A wonderful ending to an wonderful journey! Or is it?
Trial by fire and immense hardships make way for an unexpected escape.
Maximum and Kara go though so much and receive a slam bang finale.
I thank Meredith Wild and Angel Payne for this enthralling series!
Stunned!! This book left me stunned!!!! The magic that poured from the collaboration from these two amazing authors has left me absolutely stunned and amazed!!!! I am a little peeved that it this trilogy has come to an end but you can bet I will be binge reading this series again!!! Perfect ending to Kara and Maximus’ story!! Their chemistry is off the charts and they portrayed Hades perfectly!!! If you haven’t started this series then I highly suggest you do it now!!!
I have been looking forward to this book since Hearts of Fire! This series is one of the best I have read lately. At the end of Hearts of Fire, Kara has been taken by Hades to the underworld. Maximus is determine to find her and save her. He goes to an unlikely source but it does make sense since this person had found a way out of “hell” many years ago. Max and his partner somehow finds a way to the underworld. Once there they have to journal to Hades’ “kingdom” but in order to get there, they run into many mythical beings that we only read in Greek mythology. It is so interesting how Ms. Wild and Ms. Payne potray these characters and give them life! The journey is a little bit crazy but the 2 travelers are determined to find Kara. Somehow they run into Kara’s grandmother and after finding out their journey, she agrees to give them some “extra” time with Kara before she has to turn them in to Hades. When Max, his partner, and Kara’s grandmother finds Kara, Hades and his henchmen show up to destroy them. As they battle it out with Max and his partner losing, Kara gets a “callng” to a special book and once she gets a hold of the book and reads the chants in them, she was somehow able to transport Max, his partner, and herself out of Hade’s underworld.
Ater that adventure, Kara realizes she needs more answers from her grandfather about what else is in her genes! Hades however is “destroying” LA and the surrounding areas because of his loss and he is trying to punish Max and Kara. Zeus finally shows up but is not of any help to the couple. In the end, Kara’s hidden genes/talent comes to the rescue, I think! I am hoping there is more books after this because I want to know what happens next!!!
This is a action packed, heart racing journey that picks up where the last installment left off. It is the continuing struggle that had me on the edge of my seat not sure what nail biting twists or emotional turn would happen next. Loved it!
Meredith Wild and Angel Payne have done it again with a phenomenal collaboration. This book in the series includes more indepth situations with Maximus’ family. I was drawn in immediately with this book picking up right where the last book left off. I couldn’t put it down and cannot wait until the next book to see what happens next!
Holy crap this book is crazy good… Totally a binge worthy book… I just couldn’t put it down until I finished it all the way to the end….
This is the third book in the Blood of Zeus series and I just cannot get enough. It is not a standalone and the books must be read in order. The story picks up with Kara taken away from Maximus and doing her time with Hades in the Underworld. Not one to lose his lady love, Maximus is on a quest to find her. What ensues is a perfect blending of mythology and modern times with a dramatic flair that these authors prove their writing prowess is second to none. The vivid pictures created by the words makes one feel as if he/she is transported right alongside Kara and Maximus. There is no way to stay detached from these characters and their trials as the pages turn. There are twists and turns, that lead to some shocking outcomes and you may find yourself breathless at times. This book proves that love knows no bounds and I look forward to see where this journey takes Kara and Maximus. I highly recommend this book and the series.
Meredith and Angel did an extremely magnificent job on this book. Its a jaw dropper along with nail biter. A novel you will want to keep re reading.
This has got to be one of my fave series! Meredith and Angel blew my mind with this series and everything our lovebirds have to go through to finally be together once and for all had me at the edge of my seat. This is seriously one series I would highly recommend, especially if you’re into mythology, fantasy and romance. This was intense!
*ARC received for my honest review*
FATE OF STORMS (Blood of Zeus Book 3) by Meredith Wild & Angel Payne
This 3rd book in the Blood of Zeus series picks up right where the 2nd leaves off. Kara had been dragged down to hell and Maximus is on a quest to rescue her with her grandfather, Gio. I never saw the ending to this book coming! Angel Payne and Meredith Wild have made a great duo in this endeavor. The idea of using Brock O’Hurn on the cover was brilliant. I certainly see him as Maximus. This is a 5 star read!
Never a dull moment for Maximus and Kara, this book was everything I was hoping for and more, it was simply amazing, every chapter wraps you up even more, all the twists and turns and all the surprises from this characters are out of this world, well technically they weren’t in this world lol.
I just fell more in love with them, their love has no boundaries and it’s amazingly proven, Angel and Meredith did an exceptional job at keeping us on our toes with every turn.
And OMG that ending, seriously wasn’t expecting it, thank you so much ladies for yet another amazing book.
Love the whole series! 5 stars!
Two worlds collide!
The love between Maximus & Kara burns deep. One can’t live without the other. He has to walk through Hell to get her back somehow. This book picks up right where it left off in Book 2. There is lots of action throughout this story, with demigods and demons. You get lost in this book as you read it. I’m usually not fond of this type of genre, but this series had me on edge for all three books. I’m really enjoying it. Now I can’t wait to see what happens next on their new journey of what has to be done. These two authors together are unstoppable! Congrats to both of you!
All. The. Feels!! This series continues to be so unique and riveting in it’s writing style and storyline. This is the third book in the Blood of Zeus series and while you may think you know where it is going or how it will end, you will most likely be wrong (like I was)! When you have a story that is a modern day, mythologic, contemporary, paranormal romance (what a mouth full am I right?) centered around a Demi God Professor and a half blooded Demon celerity, you MUST pay attention to the details! This story did not have an off switch at any point. I felt like I needed to be full alert at all times or I may miss something important. Meredith and Angel continue to be a genius combination in writers which I believe has a lot to be with their seemingly endless imaginations and incredible writing. In Fate of Storms they give us a story that is creative and magical, emotional and thrilling, sexy and intriguing. They take the myths and stories that have already been written and loved and weave their talent, ideas, and twists to make this such a vividly beautiful story.
Maximus is on a quest to find the love of his life, his demon lover, Kara. She has been taken by Hades, the ruler of the Underworld, and Maximus must enter a realm he has no business in to save her. He enlists the help of Kara’s Grandfather Giovanni who has incredibly escaped Hell once before and immediately agrees to serve as Max’s guide and companion. The dynamic between Gio and Max is so sweet and enjoyable. They are literally clawing and fighting their way through the Underworld as allies on the same mission and form a unique friendship along the way. They encountering endless obstacles to face Hades and his wrath and hopefully bargain for Kara’s soul. Meredith and Angel do a fantastic job painting Hell so vividly. It’s so easy to imagine I too was facing off against creatures like Charun, Mantus, & Cerberus in the cold underworld. What is also a guiding light for Maximus is Kara herself, visions of her he can’t explain but knows are real. Their bond runs so deep that even when they dream they can be truly one. When Kara sees and feels that same power, she embraces it and gains renewed strength and hope to fight her dark fate. While Kara is the captive of Hades, she also feels like certain parts of her Hell are calling to her and somehow she seems to be embracing new powers she can’t explain. Hades will seemingly stop at nothing to get what he wants while Kara is doing everything she can to salvage her mind and soul against her dark God. I don’t know if I am the only one but I found myself liking and almost admiring Hades and his determination and power. Whether it is dark, evil, or depraved; I truly felt drawn to him. Kara and Maximus’s love and devoting to each other unleash a force that is strong enough to withstand anything and now that force needs to protect them and all of LA from Hades’ wrath.
While there is so much that happens in this book there were a few things that surprised me, the biggest being the ending. While it was a heart pounding ending it is not one I expected. I expected THE conclusion. I was expecting all the answers. I also felt we didn’t see nearly enough of Zeus or Nancy, Jesse, Kell or Victoria and especially Jaden. Even with these few negatives in my eyes, it was still so well written and is still such a special series! Meredith Wild and Angel Payne continue to be two of my top and must read authors and I highly recommend this series.
