Embrace your destiny. Even if it kills you.
After a failed marriage and burnout from her hospital nursing career, Missy Mindle has started over in midlife. She’s now a home-health nurse to elderly vampires and werewolves in Florida. And she’s also improving her craft as a witch.
But suddenly she has two mysteries to solve. First, who is making a series of dangerous magick attacks against her … dangerous magick attacks against her that appear to be tests of her growing witchy abilities? And who is stealing corpses from funeral homes in Jellyfish Beach? When an embalmer is murdered, one of Missy’s patients, a werewolf, is arrested. Can she exonerate him?
She gets plenty of unsolicited advice from a 400-year-old ghost. And also from the Fates. The three ancient Greek goddesses happen to live in a trailer park nearby. They know whether she’ll survive or not, but that’s the one thing they’re not saying.
Fate Is a Witch is the third book of Freaky Florida, a clean, humorous fantasy series filled with magic, monsters, and mystery; sarcasm and satire; and, of course, Florida Man. If you love the thrills of urban fantasy, the wit of cozy witch mysteries and paranormal women’s fiction, and a big splash of comedy, this series is for you. Grab this book and enjoy a vacation in Jellyfish Beach today.

Just when reporter Matt thinks he and witchly crush Missy have met all the possible crazy Florida supernaturals, they encounter a few more impossible ones.
Corpse shredding critters, hungry ghouls, dangerously wacky warlocks and wizards, and a detective who is seriously anti werewolf make for a lot of painful – and fairly nauseating- challenges
A growing helpful dragon, and some vampire and family drama are all part of a bizarre and humorous mystery and adventure
Great KU read!
You know you have a computer virus when a moray eel wiggles out of your computer screen! She was admiring the quality of the high resolution video when the eel actually popped its snout out of the screen and its 3-foot length wiggled across the floor toward her and attacked! The broom was ineffective, so she raced to the garage to grab a shovel. By the time she returned to the dining room, the eel was 10-feet long and a shovel would obviously not be effective against it. She had a repelling spell for mosquitoes, but it wouldn’t be able to do much against this sea monster! The only thing left to her is an effective spell against an obviously skilled sorcerer! Reaching down into the earth, she draws on the power and destroys the eel, but all of her ruined furniture unfortunately is still splintered all over the dining room! Life is certainly not dull anymore! Missy Mindle has started her new career as a home-health nurse to elderly vampires and werewolves in Florida. She also uses her time to practice her witchy skills, and she certainly had that opportunity when the screen-saver ran amok!
But the strangeness has not ended. Dead bodies are being snatched up and stolen from funeral homes in Jellyfish Beach. Then an embalmer is murdered and one of Missy’s werewolf patients is arrested! What is going on? Can she find the real murderer? And who is attacking her? It is beginning to feel like some kind of test of her skills! She may have to practice a little harder and more often – if she gets a break from these pressing mysteries!
This book was a riot of fun! The book is well-written and non-stop action and laughs. I had so much fun tagging along with Missy (and went back to buy the first two books I had missed). Grab your copy and try to follow the continuous twists and turns to see if Missy can get some answers here!
Wonderful book. Missy has her hands full of trouble, again. Matt is helping Missy both get out of bad situations and get into bad situations. Love Ronnie, he is the best dragon by far. So many creepy creatures and paranormal senior citizens make the story a total hit. You will not be able to put it down. This series is one you should read if you enjoy funny paranormal mysteries.
Missy in the middle of it all. Matt sees a horrible attack and he gets Missy involved. Now the monster is after her. Missy finds out some heart breaking and disturbing things about her parents. One of her patients is up to his furry collar in trouble and Missy tries to help him. Graves and funerals are being desecrated. What is going on and why? This is a really fast moving book. So much happening I have barely scratched the surface. Twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. Can’t wait for more…. received ARC copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
The story line was good and the book had a smooth flow to it. The character work was great. Even though I haven’t read any of the previous books in the series, I didn’t feel like I was missing too much. I was highly entertained from beginning to end and found myself laughing several times. I look forward to the next book.
