How do I EVEN with this book??? Wow. I mean WOW. Even that doesn’t come close to how thoroughly this story and these characters blew me away.
In Steel Brothers canon, FATE is actually a prequel. It’s the story of the Steel parents, Brad and Daphne, before insane events tore their world apart. When I first learned Ms. Hardt was going to tackle this daunting project–a prequel for a 12-book, bestselling series?–my jaw dropped. She took on an ambitious duty, because all of us “Steel heads” sorta-kinda already know the ending, right?
I should have known this incredible writer would rise to that task, and then some.
This book, told with such deep heart and emotion, was exactly the story we all needed. I was fascinated and dazzled through every last word of this book, which is, IMHO, Ms. Hardt’s most outstanding work to date.
The best part of the story, for me (well, besides the beautiful insta-love between these two) is Daphne herself. Getting to know her as a young woman, with her innocence but resilience, was such a wonderfully satisfying experience. I think there’s a little of Daphne in all of us, and watching this young woman push past her fears for the sake of true love was a riveting, breathtaking ride.
I already want and need more of this heart-stirring couple. Such an incredible ride!
This book is a must read if you have read the first 12 books in the Steel Brothers Saga! If you have ever wondered how it all started, then here is your chance. As always, great writing and suspense from Helen Hardt.
This is the book that I didn’t know I needed. I have read every book in this series so I know how Brad’s story ends. What I didn’t know was how much I needed to know how it began. Reading about the characters I already know, but how they were in the beginning is eye opening. This is a true love story.
Fate is my most favorite book in the Steel Brothers Saga!! Brad and Daphne are so much more than I could have ever imagined. Brad’s beautiful heart and Daphne’s innocence completely shatter any preconceived notions I ever had about these characters. This mysterious and all-consuming romance is an absolute must read!!
Fate (Steel Brothers Saga Book 13) by Helen Hardt
This is a very entertaining 13th installment in the Steel Brothers Saga. Fate brings us to when Brad and Daphne meet in college. It gives a great backstory to the Future Lawmakers as well as Wendy Madigan.
Wow! Loved this explanation book! What a fated beginning for Brad and Daphne.
Love, love the Steel Brothers saga and loved going back in time to where it all began and reading Brad and Daphne’s story. As with all the books in the series, I was sucked in at page one and didn’t want to put it down. A fantastic story that left me screaming for more at the end! Can’t wait for the next book!
Wow I should have known that Helen Hardt would give us so much more than a simple past for Brad and Daphne. Love that we are getting some background on the Future Lawmakers. Every book in this series has been so intense and Helen Hardt throws in surprises like no one else. I can’t wait for Legacy to release and already feel like I am going to have to do a reread with all the new information.
Great read as expected
Love all of the books in this series and this one was no exception. I needed more though, i wasnt ready for it to end that way… i recommend this book.
To go back in time…
The story of Brad Steel and Daphne Wade was exceptional. It was all I expected, plus some.
Brad, a senior in college, meets Daphne, a freshmen, on the first day of being at school. The connection between them was instant and explosive. Neither expected to meet and let Fate take over.
Next up, Legacy. What will we learn of Brad and Daphne then? I can’t wait to find out.
Helen Hardt is phenomenal in her story telling. She began this series a while ago, and it must be read in order to get the full story. Start with Craving, book 1 in the Steel Brothers Saga…
This is such a great series that I didn’t know how Ms. Hardt was going to go back and tell the story of the Steele siblings father and mother but she did it. This book was so good and we get to find out the love story between Brad Steele and Daphne Wade. Brad was in his last year of college when he meets freshmen Daphne Wade. There was an instant attraction between the two that they couldn’t ignore. However, Brad’s past with his friends from high school and his “girlfriend” Wendy makes Brad’s desire to start something with Daphne difficult.
Daphne also has her secrets, even though she doesn’t remember some of them. This obviously cause some issues later on in the other books I assume. Daphne wants to experience life and make sure that she is involved in the moments. She has difficulties with her past and it seems that Larry and Wendy knows what happened even though Daphne doesn’t. Brad is concern of what Theo, Tom, Larry and Wendy are up to and he knows he needs to get out because he suspects that they are up to no good. I’m dying to find out more about all these characters when they were younger and how they came to be what they ended up being in the first 12 books! It’s keeping me on the edge of my seat and waiting for the next book!
If you’ve read this series, this is a prequel about young Brad and Daphne. It’s the start to a tragic yet beautiful love story. I’m not a cryer but this book had me just torn up . Beautiful writing and I think it’s my favorite of the series
This is the next piece of the Steel Brothers Saga it gives us the beginning. We get to see where Brad and Daphne started, how they met. We see what they went through and how their fate, helped them along the way. A reader will need to start at the beginning with Craving otherwise you’ll miss to many key components you would not understand. The book as always was well written, keeps the reader interested, has twists and turns and is utterly divine. This has been one of my favorite series that I have read I’m so glad that I found this author.
How lucky am I that I got to start the Steel Brothers Saga series with the book that started it all! But #funfact, I had NO IDEA that was actually the case until I started reading! What had happened was (lol) … I have been meaning to dive into this series for almost two years now, but I’ve just never been able to carve out the time to indulge in a 10+ book binge!! I finally figured out these are written in sets of threes, so it didn’t look so daunting and now not only have I read (FATE) but Talon and Jade’s trilogy as well and I am in deep people! There is no stopping me now …. But let me just focus on Fate now …
After I finished with Jade and Talon’s trilogy, I didn’t really have a choice but to jump into Fate because it was going to release, and I needed to do this review. I know there’s a lot of reviews that mention you should read these books in order (meaning order of publication) but in my limited knowledge of the series I think this book goes very well no matter where you are in the saga. It’s the beginning. It takes you back in time to how this family began and all its twisted (understatement of the year) paths. It stands to reason you do not need to read the future to read the past. Do what you will with that little bit of info.
Helen Hardt has some kind of skill I don’t have the words to describe. The phrase “oh what a tangled web we weave etc etc etc” comes to mind. Not gonna lie, I’m a little traumatized just thinking about what’s coming but also ridiculously excited. Her writing is addictive. She sucked in my mind and I just don’t want to read anything but her right now! I can’t wait to move forward with Brad and Daphne but also kind of excited to start Jonah’s story! GAH, I can’t believe I’ve waited this long!
Helen you outdid yourself again when it comes to the Steel Family, I was so excited when I saw you were finally writing Brad and Daphnes story. Once I started Fate I couldn’t put it down.
Brad and Daphne are the parents of the infamous Jonah, Talon, Marjorie, and Ryan. Now we get the story of how they met. The story of the Future Lawmakers. The story of the evil people that Brad found himself surround by. The story of Daphne’s fragile mental state. The story of how they met and fell in love. I may have not liked what Brad had done to his family as told in the earlier Steel Brothers books but I fell in love with him in Fate.
Be prepared to read this straight through.
This is the thirteenth book in the Steel Brothers Saga and it is Bradford and Daphne’s story. It is not a standalone and the books should be read in order. As Bradford and Daphne have been mentioned throughout the other books in the series, readers were left wondering about their backstory and how they met; well now we have the beginning of some answers. Fate begins with two young people who were attending the same university. Bradford is a senior and a sexy alpha male who sees a shy freshman named Daphne and he is inexplicably drawn to her. Each one has a past that they are trying to forget and feel as if their meeting was fated. Along with Bradford and Daphne, there is the secondary storyline of how he became involved with Wendy, Theo, Tom and Larry and how they became the depraved adults they are. As the story unfolds, it becomes evident why Bradford needed to make the choices he did. Like the previous books in the series, Ms. Hardt has weaved another web of mystery that needs to be unraveled. This is one storyline filled with drama, suspense, obsession, and heat that will have any reader suspended in time as the pages turn. This is one book that can be read in one sitting because once it is started, you will not want to put it down until the end. I cannot wait for the next book to see how Bradford and Daphne’s journey continues.
Experience what laid the groundwork for the Steel Brothers series! This book follows Brad and Daphne’s beginning.
In the grand scheme of Helen Hardt’s Steel Brothers Saga, Fate is a blast from the past. This is where things begin, and where things get even more dicey then they already are.
Brad and Daphne have been seen through many of the previous books, and to finally get their story, is a rush! Through those books, I must admit, I disliked Brad. Seeing this side of him made me change my mind quickly.
The book starts off with the pair in college, meeting and falling in love. Brad is a senior, knows his life is planned out for him. Graduate, take over the family business, marry and have children. The poor bloke is knocked off his feet when he meets sweet and kind Daphne. The attraction is like nothing he has felt before, instant and fierce. Their relationship starts off as friends, but quickly changes.
I so very much enjoyed seeing how these two met, but the ending….That cliffhanger….What a killer way to go. I must now wait for the next to arrive and get my next fix. Helen has yet again outdone herself in this book. 5 out of 5 stars!!
This is Book 13. It is a Steel Brothers Novel.
This is the first part of the story of Brad & Daphne. Brad is the father of the Steel children. Daphne is the mother of the Steel Children. This story goes back to the beginning of how they met. If you are familiar with the Steel Brothers Saga, this book gives you an understanding of Brad’s mindset, and the story behind the man and his wife, Daphne. It’s interesting to find out what really went on between them. It’s a great start to their story. Of course, it ends in a cliffhanger. I can’t wait for the next book to find out more. It’s extremely well written, as all of Helen’s books are. Kudos Helen, to a great start of their story.
Must. Read!
This is book 13 in the Steel Brothers Saga and each book is fresh smart and unputdownable.
This installment is no exception.
This is Brad and Daphne’s story and how they met and fell in love. The story flowed nicely as their relationship evolved and developed. Theirs was not always an easy road and the major cliffhanger has me anxiously anticipating what’s coming up next!
4.5 stars!
