Everything I read from Andrew just keeps getting better! Perfect for a beach read, but also keeps those pages turning. Warning….if you are laying in the sun remember to turn over. It’s that good!
I enjoyed this murder mystery allot
If you want a book that you think you know how things will end, but you are surprised with the ending; this is the one for you.
I really enjoyed reading this book. Had a great story line & really interesting characters. Didn’t want to put it down. Highly recommend this book!
I had never read the author’s books and didn’t know I was reading a book from a series, but I easily caught on to this delightfully funny and scary mystery. This has some of the best characters and the plot is original and layered with sub plots that add to the mystery.
The main characters are a breath of fresh air. Del and Sabrina are writing together about mysteries and after becoming wealthy, still are like little kids with a non-jaded view and attitude I liked. When a message sent to Sabrina is from a dead woman she knew…the chase is on.
And what a chase going around the country for clues only to find their lives threatened and people following them..but why? And the police and bit players here are all fully developed and memorable……like Mandy, a hard waitress with a drug problem.
The scares come and you and Del and Sabrina are all taken aback. You feel as if you’re on this hunt with them! And clues come and leave you aghast as you try and figure out who is the evil one. Enjoy the travels, the suspects and try and figure this puzzle out. Meet the annoying Bob and and Brenda, discover the mine accident, the Senator, the college friend and the daughter Ronnie, all wondering what is really going on. Enjoy this mystery and I am definitely reading book one and three. 4.8 stars for a refreshing take on a mystery series!!
My first experience with this author. It did not disappoint.
Rife with dramatic irony especially when the main characters agreed to go into the cave. “Come on, you two, you are smarter than that!”
Easy to read; believable characters; kept me guessing
Wow. This was an awesome read. It kept me up several nights. I enjoyed everything about the book. The characters were great and well woven into the fabric of the novel. Reading this book was like riding a roller coaster. The next book I am going to read is Vegas Lies.
Daisy was forgotten and alone, just how she wanted it. When she is discovered stabbed to death in a dusty little Texas town, it plunges Del and bestselling mystery author Sabrina into a 30-year-old mystery involving murder, hidden identities, dangerous family secrets, political intrigue, and a long-forgotten serial killer. They discover that Daisy, under a different name, supposedly died 30 years earlier. They then find themselves squarely in the crosshairs of killers whose deadly secrets lie in Daisy’s mysterious past. – This is an interesting mystery. Sabrina and Del are smart and fun, and they do not mind taking chances. The story included various characters and more than one crime. It was intriguing and a good read. I loved Sabrina’s eulogy for Daisy.
Del and Sabrina are living together in his father’s house and writing a book about their adventures in solving the 85 year old mystery in Book 1 All Lies. They are once again drawn into an old mystery when an inmate Sabrina knew in prison left her a key to a safe deposit box. This has them flying back and forth from Massachusetts to Wisconsin to Texas and back east. All the while they are being followed and shot at. This books has lots of action and another complicated mystery with lots of twist. I love Mr Cunningham’s characters. They seem so alive. Sabrina is a strong woman and Del worships her. You can feel his love for her. The bad guys are great too. They sure had me confused. Again there is some of the author’s signature humor. I look forward to listening to the rest of this series.
Loved this book!!
I would enjoy books more if language wasn’t so offensive. I realize that I am probably in the minority.
Lots of travel for Sabrina and Del, 2 authors turned detectives. Follow them as they fly/drive around the U.S., discovering clues, getting shot at, and meeting new friends, while solving the death of an old acquaintance. Good plot, believable characters, good writing.
Love-love-LOVE this series – I can only hope there will soon be another installment of these loveable characters. Definitely a fan!!
What was she hiding and how did it get her killed? It seems almost impossible to solve this murder but keep reading, you’ll find out in the end.
5 CROWNS (5 for the story & 4 for the narration)
FATAL LIES is the second book in the Lies series. Though each mystery will stand on its own, the series is a continuing relationship between Sabrina and Del. I strongly recommend reading the series in the order of release.
Sabrina spent six years in prison for a murder she did not commit. Of course, we readers are curious about that time spent there. Most authors would gloss over that as the past and isn’t she so happy and well-adjusted now. Instead, Andrew Cunningham has brought out the spiders and the boogeymen. No, this book isn’t really about Sabrina’s past, but it does spend a lot of focus on her time and the women in the prison with her. Some belong there; some don’t; all are still people.
I enjoyed listening to this second book in the series and delighted that I committed myself to the series. This is turning out to be a fun week of suspense and suspended reality.
I was disappointed that there were no reader notes regarding historical facts for this story. I guess I was spoiled by the first book in the series.
Narration: Greg Hernandez’s narration style continues to remind me of the old film noire announcers and is appropriate for the story. I don’t know if he has gotten better or I’ve become accustomed to his presentation, but I liked him better in this second book. I’m looking forward to the next few days and the next few books.
