The ending came rather abruptly and I was left wanting to read more about the intriguing life of the sarcastically funny, badass Sheriff Jack. Luckily, there was another book in this new thriller series to go buy!
i think this book would have alot of potential if it were to turn into a live action movie or even series. therefor i give this book 4 stars
Kind of a new take on the old Red Dawn movie, creatively researched and thought provoking.
This is a great read that i couldn’t put down and was quite surprised how much I enjoyed it. I like stories with solid storylines [minimal plot holes], good humor and fast-paced action and this one really delivered. I’ll be reading more from this author in the future. I would rate this a 4.7
This book made me question what ‘hero’ really means… Vigilante or serial murderer with a cause? A definite page turner with a hero that is by turns either heroic or psychopathic, you decide…
I love this story about a sheriff in a small town. This sheriff takes matters into his own hands when three mafia men roll into town and start making the town worry. I believe this sheriff is the kind people of every small town need. The kind that will always stand up to the bad guys. I highly recommend this book.
Terrific storytelling I love it.
This one will hold your attention
This book was a hoot to read, full of unfettered killing (by the “Good” guy?) but he has a good time doing It. And that is what’s important anyway, isn’t it? LOL
Anyway, NO LEO could do the things Jack Lambert is doing and not expect to be caught, no matter the small town or the fact Jack is the Sheriff, either.
But all in all it is a great read and I highly recommend it.
The characters are realistic and the time and place felt real. I enjoyed reading this book.
Do you believe in heroes? Not the super ability kind, just someone who isn’t interested in glory, but keeping their community safe. Maybe Jack Lamburt fits that description then.
Jack has been around. He’s been in places and learned things that make him more than a force against those who hurt others. But, sometimes he makes a mistake. Enjoy this story about the mistake.
I enjoyed the dark, practical humor of the protagonist even when the character is facing tragedy.
Fun read, will try more of this author.
Very good, enjoyed it.
Enjoyed story line and was not disappointed with ending. Looking forward to next book
Fun book to read, looking forward to reading the second in the series.
In a perfect world we wouldn’t face problems like the ones introduced in the story. However, with the snarl of lawyers and overworked judicial workers making a back-log of cases out in the real world it is not the best case scenario. we all dream secretly of just taking care of business. However don’t contaminate public water with dead bodies please. that old well will spread the contaminate for a long long ways. I liked the characters and wanted things to work out for them. As a short novel the action was good but not rushed. good bones for a sequel or a series.
One of the best book I have read in the last 20 years.
Easy, fast read.
A fun read where the hero wins out
