Ohhhhhhhh Emmmmmm Geeeeeeee…if you love lots of mystery, murder, alpha men, sassy women and paranormal abilities then this novella is for you. I loved it
I couldn’t wait to read this story and let me just say that it’s amazing. This story pulled me in from the first sentence and all I could do was hang on for the ride. It’s an absolute must read and one that you don’t want to miss..
Exciting story full of tense moments and a plot keeping you turning the pages. I always love the stories with characters that have gifts, it makes it more interesting and slightly edgy. This does have some sweet scenes as well between Alex and Eden, I loved his understanding and compassion for how she had been treated by others. Fast flow and easy to get pulled in and gripped throughout, this my first read in this series so I didn’t know the Phoenix agency characters or their backgrounds but it didn’t spoil my enjoyment in any way.
A great story of second chances
Alex and Eden knew each years before and had a connection but circumstances broke them apart. Now Alex’s boss demands him to bring Eden into the fold to help solve the mysterious deaths using her powers to give them a break in the case and find the serial killer who remains at large. The chemistry between these two remains as strong as before even with the no contact. Once Alex and Eden give into their wants and take a chance with each the serial killer sets his sights on Eden. Alex being the macho manly alpha he is fights till the death to save his love. This book has it all…… the action, romance and laughs. A must read.
This is my first exposure to a book in The Phoenix Agency world and I absolutely loved it.
While paranormal is not a genre I generally gravitate towards, this book was very well written and I couldn’t put it down.
I enjoyed how the love story focused on acceptance of each other just how they are which is what we all want from those we love.
Anna Blakely is definitely an automatic one-click author for me!!
I haven’t read any of the Phoenix Agency series before but I am a fan of Anna Blakely’s so I wanted to read Fatal Connection. I enjoy romance and the psychic element always intrigues me. Fatal Connection has almost a second chance feel to it because Alex and Eden worked together two years ago and they were both attracted to each other but neither acted upon it. Alex is a police officer in Chicago and Eden worked as a profiler liaison. The case ended badly and Alex hasn’t been in contact with her since. When a serial killer is targeting the city, the chief of police wants Alex brought back in to help and sends Alex to get her. That’s where our story really begins. Alex wants Eden out of harms way and she wants to use her talents to end this killer’s reign. It is a gritty, hot, emotional roller coaster of a ride that now makes me want to check out the other books in the series. It was told from dual POV and if you like a bit of the mystical mixed in with your romantic suspense, I recommend you read this now!
This is a must read and a great addition to the Phoenix series. Couldn’t put it down, it captured me from the first page to the last. Strong characters and supporting characters intriguing storyline. No spoilers just one to read
This book has all the feelings!!!! You felt everything that both of the main characters and others were feelings. This is a great shout out to Mrs. Blakely on doing such a phenomenal job.
Alex is a detective who is working on a case that he just can’t get a read on. He is getting pressure from all sides to find a killer and he is stumped. When his boss comes in and suggests bringing Eden in, he loses. it. You can feel the anger and frustration that Alex has. Not only is he protective of Eden, he has done everything in his power to hide the fact that he is in love with her.
Eden is a woman who can see things through touch. She has consulted with the police department in the past and it didn’t turn out so well for her. However, she needs to help in this case and get justice for these woman.
While this is a paranormal book, you get lost and caught up in all the feelings that are thrown around. I especially like when Eden touches Alex for the first time and she sees exactly how he feels about her. It was written so beautifully with a whole lot of spice.
This book also has an element of suspense. You are sitting right along with them getting frustrated about the lack of evidence at finding the killer. You need to know what happens next so you can’t put the book down.
This is one of the new stories for the Phoenix World by Desiree Holt. It’s a perfect addition to the series. You’ve got Alex, an x-military man who is now a police officer in Chicago and you’ve got Eden, someone special who has a gift but was crucified by the media in her last attempt to help. Alex is told to go to Eden to ask for her help, when they meet, the sparks fly again, but this will only be the second time that they’ve actually touched. There is a strong heroin and just as equally a hero. I loved the quick blossom of their feelings and the intensity of the story and path that they travel to get to the end, or actually, it’s not the end of their journey, they will just veer in another direction. I loved seeing Dan again and I look forward to the new additions to this wonderful Phoenix World.
I received this advanced reader’s copy in exchange for an honest review.
